Food is consistently good. My first time trying this cheesesteak sandwich. Plenty of fresh cut ribeye. I would have liked a cheese wiz but the provolone was very good. I chose coleslaw as my slaw.z it was fresh but could have used more seasoning. Our server was fantastic. He was constantly checking on us and providing instant soda refills. I simply cannot believe it has been nine years since we lunched at Two Roads. Since that time they moved to their new location in the former Longboards. I talked Ms T into trying it again. We just can't handle a big lunch and wanted to avoid leftovers, so decided to split a pickle brined chicken sandwich with fries and an extra side of slaw. The sandwich was OK. To start with it needed more seasoning. How about breaking out the black pepper and garlic powder? The meat was uncharacteristically tough/chewy for chicken breast. I suggest they need to be pounding it to tenderize it and then brine it. It was actually hard for us to cut and eat. It really looked nice, but I think I am done with pickle brined chicken. It just never gets enough brine impact. They make good small caliber fries that were piping hot and the slaw was fine for me. Ms T did not care for it so I got it all. Our food was OK, not stellar. The service was excellent, but I still can't make this better than three stars. I hope to convince her to return for a burger during this trip. read more

This is by far the best breaded shrimp I have ever eaten and that says a lot because I'm from Hawai'i. (Sorry HI ) it did get extremely busy so go at off peak hours of lunch and dinner. A large open space with ample parking, this place probably jumps during the busy season! We received a friendly greeting and were seated immediately. We had the cheese curds, which were served with a Jamaican Jerk aioli, they were tasty! I had the shrimp po-boy, it was ok, the remoulade wasn't exceptional, so I added some of the jerk aioli to spice it up. I'd recommend adding some hot sauce. Mac n cheese was a decent side. Fantastic oysters! We had lunch here on a rainy Tuesday on our way to The Wright Brothers Memorial and what a tasty stop this was! Our first time trying here while we were in OBX. The food was really good especially the mashed potatoes and fried shrimp. The batter was light and seasoned well. Everything was great. We returned again the next day with some friends and sat in the dining area. Service was good even though the second day was busier. Nice place to also watch a game. After hearing good things about two roads and their new location, we've been looking to try it out. The new space is pretty large so we were able to walk in and sit down right away. The tables are spaced apart so it didn't feel crowded and felt like it could even accommodate more people. Our server Patrick was friendly and attentive. The cocktail menu included several crushes which are a good beach drink. The food is a bit limited (looks like maybe before they moved they had a larger menu). I had the pickle brined chicken sandwich which was a huge portion but it had just a touch too much sauce for me. It was almost impossible to pickup given the sauce, so I'll ask for it on the side next. If you decide to substitute anything in place of fries, it appears as if you have to pay for that side outright (sub charges are the same for ordering as a side). So maybe get the fries and then order the side is best bang for your buck. Others at my table has the special burger and the shrimp po'boy. We enjoyed it all. The green beans are sautéed and tasty and the onion rings and fries were good. In the room we were in there was art for sale and it wasn't too loud, but the main area including bar was louder. read more

They are decked out in a home alone theme for the 12 bars of Christmas, and they nailed it! We went for dinner inside at the bar. The service was great. We split the turkey sandwich with stuffing, goat cheese, cranberry sauce, and arugula. It was served on grilled sourdough and it was amazing, I wanted to go back and eat it again, but didn't have time. It is syrup with warm homemade chips. They have a fun holiday drink menu as well. The food is extremely solid to very good bar food. The real reason to come here is for sports. The TV's are plentiful with super high-quality pictures. However, it is a curious place in that it closes at 9 which means you can't see the end of many games or the start of any that occur after that time. Maybe not a repeat for me - as a non seafood eater, I can't speak to their main focus. the meal we had - a steak and cheese and Caesar with grilled chicken, was fine. My issue is the lack of other non- fish options. Burgers are out because they don't cook them to your order- medium well only (ugh). The service was good - very friendly and quick. We were down here for vacation and considering what's closed in the off-season, this was close and well... open. Although considering the options were few, they did quite well with the food and service. Walking in, it's a great feel with the servers and staff being very friendly. I admired feeling welcomed considering many of these small local places can sometimes make you feel like you're violating their territory upon entry. Our waitress was super friendly. We were seated right away for lunch on a summer weekday. Evenings get a bit busier. But I was very impressed by my fish sandwich and delicious fries. The beer is nice and cold, and the service was very friendly. They have kinda an old fashioned automobile decor with some old relics, signs and such. Bathrooms were decent, but the men's room was out of paper towels. The waitstaff was courteous, quick, and professional. Kitchen pumped out some good food in a reasonable amount of time. My husband and I enjoyed our vegetarian burgers. It is refreshing to find a place like that that serves classic bar food and at the same time caters to everyone, including vegetarians and vegans.
