Fried shrimp with Mac and garlic green beans
    Jackie M.

This is by far the best breaded shrimp I have ever eaten and that says a lot because I'm from Hawai'i. (Sorry HI ) [[HIGHLIGHT]]it did get extremely busy so go at off peak hours of lunch and dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The green beans had a very strong garlic taste and I couldn't get enough. The Mac was a bit dry so I give that a 5 but everything else was a 10/10, including the staff.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A large open space with ample parking, this place probably jumps during the busy season![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We received a friendly greeting and were seated immediately. We had the cheese curds, which were served with a Jamaican Jerk aioli, they were tasty! I had the shrimp po-boy, it was ok, the remoulade wasn't exceptional, so I added some of the jerk aioli to spice it up. I'd recommend adding some hot sauce. Mac n cheese was a decent side. My son had the pickle brined chicken sandwich, which he enjoyed. It want off the charts good, but it was above average.

Fantastic oysters! We had lunch here on a rainy Tuesday on our way to The Wright Brothers Memorial and what a tasty stop this was! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was really good....cool, laid back beach atmosphere and fabulous service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Alyssa was VERY attentive! Had nothing we did not like! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm sure during season they are crazy, but lunch after Labor Day worked![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A cool stop for sure!

Our first time trying here while we were in OBX. The food was really good especially the mashed potatoes and fried shrimp. The batter was light and seasoned well. Everything was great. We returned again the next day with some friends and sat in the dining area. Service was good even though the second day was busier. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice place to also watch a game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely return again when we're back in OBX.

So impressed with the food, drinks, and service here! We actually ended up liking it so much we went twice within a three day span. Service is fast and both times we ate here we were sat immediately. Their menu has a lot of great options and everything we tried was super yummy. The Cajun cheese bites are a must for appetizers! The orange crushes were also great. Definitely recommend! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

The fried oysters were sooo good. They were honestly perfect. I just got the oysters and a salad, and it was fresh and delicious. The service was very good and my waitress was very sweet.

They are decked out in a home alone theme for the 12 bars of Christmas, and they nailed it! We went for dinner inside at the bar. The service was great. We split the turkey sandwich with stuffing, goat cheese, cranberry sauce, and arugula. It was served on grilled sourdough and it was amazing, I wanted to go back and eat it again, but didn't have time. It is syrup with warm homemade chips. They have a fun holiday drink menu as well. I loved the filthy animal! It tasted like alcoholic butter, beer. If you were in the area, definitely hit them up!

This is the mahi mahi sandwich
    Patrycja L.

The mahi mahi sandwich (pictured) was good but the bun was dry and my mahi mahi was 2 oz too small. Their alcoholic drinks, may just be me but i can barely taste the alcohol. I had to the peach spritz and weekend at Tito's. My boyfriend had the hangover burger. They didn't ask him how he wanted it. He said it was alright. So as a summary this place is lack luster but for the price, i would not come back.

The new location gets 2 thumbs up!! This was the first time here and I'm so happy that it's larger and the layout is open and fun. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed it. Great server and best meal, I had the fried shrimp dinner, with mashed potatoes and green beans. The shrimp were cooked and breaded perfectly, juicy and dipped in their signature sauce made them even better. The mashed potatoes were the best I've had out!! Highly recommend, a very nice variety on the menu too.

    Do we need reservations?

They do not take reservations. During season it will be busy but we have normally only had to wait 30-45 minutes. Just get a drink at the bar while you wait. Bar seating is full service and first come first serve. We have eaten there plenty. Amazing…

Our service was great. But the food, sub par. Soft drinks were "odd" for lack of better word. So I returned it for a beer cause, why not. Sweet tea was so sweet that we had to dilute it with water. We can handle that. The food would have been great, had they used ANY SEASONING at all. Everything tasted as tho the kitchen lost all S&P privileges. I had the prime rib w/ au jus. Meat was tender and onions cooked nicely. But it definitely didn't match the description which was something like "on a hoagie bun topped with garlic and butter." It was not. Which would have really helped carry the no seasoning deal. Au jus, had great potential, just no flavor. I ended up eating the meat alone and left the bread. Wife got the Reuben. Which was overall ok. Much more flavor than mine. But only bc of the sauerkraut. Oldest daughter got the BYO burger, with cheese and pickle. The burger was clearly a frozen patty from the store. As clearly defined by the shape of the patty. She ate half and the other half sits in the fridge as I type, from 2 nights ago. (I usually eat all the leftovers) I leave this review in hopes that the management and kitchen staff will start to properly season their food. Arts has great potential. But not without seasoning!

Wow. I really slept on this place over the years. I have wanted to come here for quite awhile, but…read morenever have done so when visiting OBX. This year, I put that sleeping to an end. I woke up...and had a delicious time! The reviews here tell you how great this place is, and well...believe them! I thought for sure it would be over-hyped and not live up to what people write and say, but I will admit to being wrong. First, our server, Krickett, was agreed upon (by my partner and I) to be the best server we have ever had. She was friendly, outgoing, had good recommendations, and an all-around joy. Second, the food! Wow! My partner had a salad...simple enough, right? But no, she was amazed by it. And she is a vegetarian, so she has had a lot of salads over the years. This one blew her away. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. Was it life-changing? No. But it was way better than what a grilled chicken sandwich normally is. It was tender, juicy, with just the right seasoning. I would be a criminal if I didn't mention the bruschetta...get it with the burrata...it is worth it! The crispy bread with balsamic drizzle is good enough with the diced tomato mix, but the cheese gives it a new level. And, I hope you saved room for dessert, because the key lime pie was a mouth explosion.

The restaurant has two distinct dining areas: the front section is first-come first-served bar seating that offers the full menu. The back section, which would be ideal for families, holds about 30 tables, mostly booths, with the hostess stand. We chose to sit at the bar and had a great experience. We started with bruschetta topped with burrata cheese. I ordered the angel hair pasta in a white garlic butter, cream sauce with marinated chicken and grilled vegetables. My husband ordered the special hamburger with Swiss cheese bacon, spinach and mayo with a side of fries. We ended with slices of the key lime pie that didn't disappoint! The food, service, staff and environment were exceptional! We overheard the Server mention that veterans receive complementary meals on Veterans Day, which speaks volumes about how this restaurant supports those who have served. If you are in the Outer Banks- whether you're staying in Kill Devil Hills or nearby- this restaurant is worth the drive and all the hype!
