This is a new spot we have tried four times. Each time the food has been hot, fresh and tasty. Our servers have been friendly and a pleasure to speak with. They provide excellent recommendations to consider. One time, the flounder was just brought in from local fisherman, and it was brought to our attention to give it a try. The waitress was right; the sandwich was AWESOME and cooked/seasoned perfectly and a brioche bun. The bathrooms are clean and the restaurant has a very nice decor. When they are busy, the acoustics can made having a conversation a bit of a challenge. I haven't sat at the bar...yet. It seems rear nice and spacious right at the bar counter on the left side of the restaurant when you walk it. Also, they have plenty of TVs' so if you want to watch a baseball, or football game, you will be able to do so while you eat. I did order some oysters which were very small, but the flavor was good. Can't remember what else we ordered since it's been a while since we were there, but we loved everything and it had a nice chill vibe. Being a mixed race couple and in the south, we are always worried about how people will treat us, but they treated us great and we had great food and service! Go check them out! My husband and I came here and were unfortunately disappointed with our experience. We were seated in the bar area, and it was obvious the bartender and barback were extremely busy. They seemed to be doing their best. Throughout the meal, we had empty drinks sitting on the table for long periods of time. What was especially frustrating was that the host was sitting nearby on her phone while our drinks sat empty & it wasn't until about 5-10 minutes later that we got refills. don't blame the bartender or barback, as they appeared overwhelmed and were trying to handle too many responsibilities at once. The bigger issue seemed to be staffing and a lack of attention from other employees who could have helped. It was especially disappointing since we were celebrating and were hoping for a nice dinner experience. Service was outstanding, our waiter ( a taller, energetic man ) was amazing. The food was also extremely good, and a far cry from some of the other greasy places nearby. Meatloaf tasted like something my mom would've made and been something I would look forward to all day during school, and the pickle brine chicken sandwich was super good as well. Terrible wait time, was told 30mins waited 1hr. Food was below par as mahi sandwich was all bun no fish. If you like salad on a brioche bun this is great. Cole slaw was watered down. We enjoyed a terrific lunch here at Two Roads. Kinda hidden in the corner of a shopping plaza, set back from the road a little. Plenty of free parking though. We were seated right away for lunch on a summer weekday. Evenings get a bit busier. But I was very impressed by my fish sandwich and delicious fries. The beer is nice and cold, and the service was very friendly. They have kinda an old fashioned automobile decor with some old relics, signs and such. Bathrooms were decent, but the men's room was out of paper towels. The waitstaff was courteous, quick, and professional. Kitchen pumped out some good food in a reasonable amount of time. We set here for lunch with the kids and we all enjoyed the food and the service. The kids menu had a lot of options, and they enjoyed what they ordered. My husband and I enjoyed our vegetarian burgers. It is refreshing to find a place like that that serves classic bar food and at the same time caters to everyone, including vegetarians and vegans. The burgers were delicious! I especially enjoyed the quinoa burger. You must try their homemade sauce with the burger. It is smokey and tasty. What a gem! We wanted fried seafood and excellent drinks! Holy cow! They delivered above and beyond! Nice big parking lot! Outdoor tables for large groups, a small amount of Indoor table and a nice big bar area. We opted to sit at the bar. Bar servers were fantastic and knew how to make drinks! Prices are very reasonable. I had a custom cocktail of Tito's and Peach and seriously $8 was a steal for the size of that cocktailZ they have many beer options starting at $3 for the budget minded. Let's talk about the food! AH-mazing. YES, get the fried shrimp platter: battered so lightly with the perfect amount of spices. The French fries(thin cut and fresh sliced) are the best I've had in the OBX. Burgers seemed to be popular and priced so well... none of that $15 a burger... the choices started out $9 comes with a choice of side. We had lunch today at the "New Two Roads", our 2nd visit there since reopening. The food was good and the service was also good, as we would expect from Two Roads. I ordered a second draft with my meal. After the waitress delivered the beer I noticed something strange about the rim of the pint glass. About1/3 of it was chipped off in various places. Not sure if the chips were in the beer or not. The glass rim was like razor blades and I was very fortunate to have noticed it before taking a sip. I certainly would have cut my lips, tongue and or gums because as I said, the rim was like a razor blade. I tracked down the server and brought it to her attention. I was provided another draft. I was disappointed to see on my bill that I was charged for that replacement draft . Really????? As a business owner I would have expected to have the replacement "on the house " since I narrowly avoided injury. I would suggest to the management, wait staff and bartenders that if that happens again, give the person, in this case a local a free beer, maybe 2. Very poor customer service. read more

Very friendly staff. I enjoyed the Oysters Outter Banks with a side of Mac & Cheese. Mac & Cheese was nothing ordinary than what it is... no other additives that elevate the flavor of it, but he the Oysters were delicious. The Kitty Hawk oysters had a little kick, but not too spicy. read more

Came to this great little bar and restaurant after a run to Lowe's. It was a bit late in the evening and we got a seat right away. Rachel greeted us with a friendly Gi and took us immediately to our table. She was also our server. She was. Wry patient with me as I asked about -0 menu questions. She made good recommendations for both me and my wife. I got the "Boss Hog" burger. It was HUGE! And really tasty! The fries were sooo delicious! My wife got a mahi sandwich with cole slaw that she said the best she has ever had anywhere! Top marks! Her sandwich was outstanding! Overall, it was great. The service was excellent. The waitstaff and hostess were so sweet and helpful. I got the chicken sandwich and my mom got a burger. The pickle brined chicken Sammy was good, just not the best. My mom liked her burger pretty well, but she said it was not the best either. Their fries are great, though. Since my arrival at Kill Devil Hills on Saturday August 5, 2023 and today the 10th. I knew had to come here. The restaurant is amazing, the food and drinks were so good. Last visit I had the chicken sandwich and today I had a house salad and it tasted delicious better then the other restaurants. The restaurant itself is amazing, it really shows that you're at the beach and you made it to Nags Head/Kill Devil Hills. The ambiance of the restaurant is soothing and relaxing with the low lighting and awesome beach decor on the walls. The service here was outstanding. The associates at the bar treated me as if I was a local here and I loved it very much. Their fantastic hospitality made my visit here something to remember and I will never forget that. Come to Two Toad Tavern at mile marker 5.5 on Route 158 in Nags/Head Kill Devil Hills, the greatest restaurant in North Carolina. This visit gets 7/5 stars. Stay awesome Two Road Tavern. read more

It came with romoulade (made in-house) which I normally wouldn't use but it was so good I couldn't resist. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The place is tucked away in the corner of the strip mall and not much to offer as far as ambiance goes. Our waiter was friendly and took good care of us and the food was ok but nothing that left a lasting memory. Chelsea was our server and she was delightful. Everyone who worked in the place seemed genuinely happy to be working together. The food was great! We split an order of the bacon gravy fries. They were PHENOMENAL! They were crispy fresh shoestring fries with gravy, cheese, and bacon. I had the homemade meatloaf, homemade mashed potatoes with gravy, and green beans. The meatloaf is served with gravy and has a great char on the outside. My husband had a specialty burger with cheese, bacon, and jalapeños, with onion rings. The Mac and cheese was also very good. This was really a nice surprise. It looks a little sketchy but the food was WONDERFUL and the service (once you get past the hostess) was AMAZING. Fried shrimp was spectacular and the hotdogs with pimento cheese were unexpectedly delicious. The poutine appetizer was so yummy that we all asked for it as our side which brings me to my one complaint (other than the hostess who obviously hates her job). I expected an up charge for the side but didn't expect it to be $5. Per plate. Added $30 to the bill which wasn't such a nice surprise. They are supremely good, however. I'd go back just for that! New, incredibly busy location for this established business. Same menu as before. Have visited 4 times, could not get in the door until the 4th visit. We (2) prefer to sit at the bar, zero seats available each visit. On the 4th visit seated at a 2 top with a view of the bar; in the 60 minutes we were there, 0 % turnover of bar seats.
