YUMMMMMM! Nelly's sandbar did NOT disappoint. i was SO hungry and waited in like for 2 hours at another restaurant just to end up leaving. Needed a place that would accommodate 5 people without a wait, and called Nellys and they fit me in! All I was craving was a seafood pasta and I got the seafood medley pasta here and it was SOOOO GOOD! Got it with the alfredo sauce and it did not disappoint. So so good.

Bumper sticker I bought for the house!

Absolutely delicious food! I had a club sandwich that was so good I came back for a steak sandwich for dinner. Highly recommend both. Both servers and bartenders were attentive despite being busy and also inundated with pickup orders. Although new, the restaurant had a great atmosphere. I felt at home the entire time I was there. I left feeling full and even got some merchandise for this new spot. Will be back ASAP!

    Chicken cheesesteak

My nieces name is Nell so we decided we had to go here and we are glad we did, we may have found a new go to spot for the weeks spent at the beach. The food across the board was really good, the fries were different but very good, the size of steak fries but tastes like a fluffy seasoned fry. Fried pickles were thin and crispy. We had a large party and the service was good, seating is not ideal for large parties but they were more than accommodating and a very nice staff. Ambiance is beachy/diner bar. We will definitely be going back and cannot wait to try something else there!

    Small portion

Would not recommend...portions are small and overpriced. An ice cream scoop of rice and 4 pieces of asparagus.

What's the deal with your hours? Here in June on a Saturday at 3:30pm. Locked up. Workers inside would t acknowledge us. Shame. Looked good.

I really enjoyed each of the dish and all the beers that are on a tap is the highlight of the restaurant. There are two long tables in the middle for larger groups. The seats are surrounded by TVs and a great spot for the family. The second shift breakfast burger is delicious! The Pork belly BLT is also more refined and will please finer palates. The crispy apple jack chicken has all the ingredients for a delicious sandwich. But I would replace the 3 chicken tenders for a large chunk of chicken breast. That would make the sandwich perfect. If you're looking for a great restaurant for the family during your vacation... take a ride and check it out!

I don't necessarily blame the restaurant for that since people are constantly coming and going through both the front door and patio, but it did affect the experience. We didn't try the beer wall this time. We came primarily for the food, and I'm glad we did. We both ordered the Angry Chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic. It had great flavor, a good level of spice, and was absolutely massive. For $19, though, it better be big! Honestly, I almost wish they offered a smaller version with just one chicken patty at a lower price. The sandwich has so many great elements, but it's almost too much food. I'd happily order a smaller version. Our server was friendly, but he was clearly spread pretty thin. It took a while to get drink refills and our check. Overall, there were a few things that could have been better, but I'd definitely come back for that chicken sandwich.

The restaurant is smaller and the tables are pretty close together. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice but I just remember it being a bit loud from all the different conversations going on. This time around we skipped appetizers and went straight for our meal. I ordered the BPK chopped salad and the butternut squash bisque. I honestly enjoyed both of these. The butternut squash bisque had lobster chunks in it and the bisque was super creamy and delicious. I also enjoyed the chopped salad which was refreshing and their raspberry vinaigrette was tasty. My cousin got the jerk chicken and he said the jerk chicken was okay but he is use to jerk chicken having a hint of more spice. As for the service our server was nice and everyone was sweet.

I woke up...and had a delicious time! The reviews here tell you how great this place is, and well...believe them! I thought for sure it would be over-hyped and not live up to what people write and say, but I will admit to being wrong. First, our server, Krickett, was agreed upon (by my partner and I) to be the best server we have ever had. She was friendly, outgoing, had good recommendations, and an all-around joy. Second, the food! Wow! My partner had a salad...simple enough, right? But no, she was amazed by it. And she is a vegetarian, so she has had a lot of salads over the years. This one blew her away. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. Was it life-changing? No. But it was way better than what a grilled chicken sandwich normally is. It was tender, juicy, with just the right seasoning. I would be a criminal if I didn't mention the bruschetta...get it with the burrata...it is worth it! The crispy bread with balsamic drizzle is good enough with the diced tomato mix, but the cheese gives it a new level. And, I hope you saved room for dessert, because the key lime pie was a mouth explosion.

The restaurant has two distinct dining areas: the front section is first-come first-served bar seating that offers the full menu. The back section, which would be ideal for families, holds about 30 tables, mostly booths, with the hostess stand. We chose to sit at the bar and had a great experience. We started with bruschetta topped with burrata cheese. I ordered the angel hair pasta in a white garlic butter, cream sauce with marinated chicken and grilled vegetables. My husband ordered the special hamburger with Swiss cheese bacon, spinach and mayo with a side of fries. We ended with slices of the key lime pie that didn't disappoint! The food, service, staff and environment were exceptional! We overheard the Server mention that veterans receive complementary meals on Veterans Day, which speaks volumes about how this restaurant supports those who have served. If you are in the Outer Banks- whether you're staying in Kill Devil Hills or nearby- this restaurant is worth the drive and all the hype!
