Called in a clam bake order for pickup later that same evening. It was ready at the time I had asked for and instructions were super easy to follow. Our clam bake had crab legs, shrimp, clams, potatoes and corn, plus it came with all of the condiments you need - including a whole stick of butter! Everything was delicious, fresh and well seasoned. Awesome fresh shrimp! I came to appreciate how superb the shrimps they offer here. Every bite I took was my taste buds doing the victory dance... I ordered a pound of the large shrimp and have them steam em for me with Old Bay. It was simple but just right. The food is fresh so there's no way of messing it up. Plus, these people know what they are doing, so my food was cooked just right, not over nor under. I appreciate the shrimp even more after I went back to Maryland and had "fresh" steamed shrimp. Ugh! All staff were wearing masks (yayyyy!!!!!) BUT they did not enforce the mask mandate for NC to customers (which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.) Legit seafood market! Don't waste your time going to the regular grocery store for your seafood. I went here 2x in one week. Got the peeled, deveined raw shrimp the first time and they cooked up great. The 2nd time they steamed the shrimp for us and it was AMAZING! Perfectly seasoned. Not overdone. And I was able to pick it up just 20 minutes after I called and ordered it. Their fresh fish selection isn't huge, but it all looked fresh. Definitely recommend! read more

If you are in Corolla or Duck, this really is the place to go for live crabs by the bushelful. $20 per dozen for NC Blue Crabs is a decent price and for $5 more they'll steam them for you. The seafood is fresh, and mostly local, and the staff is knowledgable. The prices are fair, if not as great as Austin's (a 45 min drive south). Check it out for fresh fish! read more

Tonight was my second trip to Dockside North in 3 days. They have clam bake to-go buckets that are amazing! The seafood is fresh, the staff is uber friendly and helpful. It just makes you want to come back over and over again. The clam bake is what sold us. There are three pre-planned options or you can augment with anything in the shop for the per-pound prices (which are fair). They season everything and pack it up in a metal container that you take back and cook. They also include their homemade cocktail sauce - which I now crave daily. If you need some seafood (who eats burgers on a trip to the coast?), check this place out. It's well worth it! read more

We visited Dockside North Seafood Market on our recent trip to Corolla. We purchased a number of items - tuna, mussels and oysters. The mussels and tuna were fresh and very good. However, when we got the oysters back to the house and started to shuck them, they were bad. They smelled and were obviously not edible. We had to throw them away. So disappointing. This was at the end of our vacation and we weren't able to go back to return them. I would recommend that if you are buying oysters, smell them before you leave. Let me start by saying the experience from start to finish was very enjoyable coming into their market. The staff was very friendly and very helpful as I was completely oblivious to what I needed for the steam buckets to go. They have several premade buckets were they choose the seafood that's put in it or as I did I was able to customize the bucket for our family need. I think if you want a seafood experience you're almost better off coming to dockside and getting the bucket with what you want as opposed to going to a lot of these restaurants in the area that are truly overpriced and over packed and the reviews will be middle of the road.
