The bagels are amazing and the coffee cake is to die for! Highly recommend for someone wanting an easy but so delicious breakfast!

Lighthouse Bagels is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in Corolla. Honestly, this is one of the few places in the area where I consistently leave thinking, "That was actually delicious." I come here multiple times whenever I'm staying in the area, and I'll even drive from other parts of the OBX just to get a bagel here. The selection is fantastic, and I've never had a bad bagel. Everything I've tried has been delicious and worth the trip. The wait times can definitely be long, especially when they're busy. I do wish they had a better system for letting customers know when their order is ready. An order screen showing the numbers that are in progress and ready would make a huge difference. It can be difficult to hear or know when your number is called. That said, the food is absolutely worth the wait. Seating can also be competitive, but it's worth fighting for a picnic table and enjoying your bagel outside. If you're in Corolla, this is a must-visit. read more

Came here for a Bachlorette weekend get away and this was one of the stops we had to go to for breakfast! I love that this was walking distance from the house that we had rented out but we def had to call our friends to come pick us up because we def got a bunch of bagels for the girls to have for breakfast. We each got different types of bagel and a container of their fresh baked coffee cakes. EVERYTHING was delicious and still hot when we brought the food back home. The staff were super friendly and fast at getting our orders in and checking us out. I feel like I have to speak up about my experience here, because it was genuinely shocking. I walked in, ordered a simple bagel sandwich -- nothing complicated, no special requests..and the girl working the counter was blatantly rude to me from the moment I said hello. I've never seen her before in my life, and I was polite the entire time, so the hostility made absolutely no sense. As a business owner myself, I would never in a million years allow my staff to treat customers the way I was treated today. Customer service sets the tone for a business, and when someone makes customers feel unwelcome for absolutely no reason, that's a reflection of management just as much as the employee. Read the previous reviews- this is not the first time someone's had a completely left field experience with waitstaff. This could have been a regular spot for me and my family, but after that experience, I won't be returning. read more

I'm a big fan of bagel and lox and this place had the best it was so good I was almost finished with it before I realized that I needed to take a picture of it. It was deliciously fresh with just the right amount of cream cheese and red onion and capers my mom also purchased an assortment of different bagels for the house she said that the service was friendly and quick although their online ordering was a bit confusing because you could not make any changes. My cousin was able to get the bagel she requested in accordance with her dietary needs though. Will definitely come back when I can! read more

If you want bagels that are lacking in seasoning, come here! See the attached pictures for what their "everything" bagel looks like. If anything it should be called a "somethings" bagel instead. This is the sad ghostly whisper of an everything bagel. I know this sounds dramatic but was greatly disappointed. Also, was super disappointed that we order bagels and cream cheese in addition to our sandwiches to go thinking we were going to eat them the next day and the cream cheese was smeared on the bagel not on the side so now we can't reheat them the next day. Line was out the door and took a good amount of time, but ambiance was nice. The filling of the sandwiches was nice but the bagel itself was a major major disappointment. read more

Stopped by lighthouse bagels with my friends and the bagels here are crazy good. We're from New Jersey so we know a good bagel when we see one and this bagel is BETTER than good. It's up there with New York and new Jersey bagels, I got the everything bagel with cream cheese and scallion cream cheese. As a born and raised New Yorker, I must say they make a damn good bagel. They are bigger than what I'm used to getting, in fact they're almost huge, but they are baked right and you can tell they make them they way a bagel should be made. They are delicious. The garlic and herb cream cheese was fantastic!! Oh, and the crumb (coffee) cake tastes like New York too, and it's as good as I've had anywhere. The place gets BUSY in the morning, especially when they first open. We got there at 7:05am and the line was to the door, but we were waited on in less than 10 minutes. And this was in the middle of April, not during the summer months. It appears they get a bit backed up if people are ordering sandwiches, but if you're just getting bagels (or items that don't need to be cooked there), you should be able to get in and out fairly quick. They do have a website where you can order ahead, and a pick up window, which may be a time saver (especially in the summer). My only issue, which is why I gave it four and not five stars, the bagels are expensive. A dozen was over $30, which is twice as much as you'd spend in NY. Yes, the bagels are bigger, but that's a steep price. Then again, I'd gladly pay that for a real bagel versus getting fake bagels at Panera Bread. read more

This is the best bagel you're going to find in the Outer Banks, and if you want one during peak season you're going to have to wait for it. We came here twice during our recent visit to the Outer Banks and waited around an hour both times from start to finish. The line was out the door both weekday mornings we came (around 9/10 am). It was about a half hour wait until we got up to the counter to order (and had we only ordered a dozen bagels and some cream cheese that could've been it), but the wait for our breakfast sandwiches was another half hour after that. It's a casual to-go spot that has no indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor tables if you can't wait till you get back to your beach house to devour your order. That said, the breakfast sandwich creations they have on the menu this year are on point and worth the wait -- and that's coming from a New Yorker. The Bang Bang sandwich was a standout and an absolutely perfect combination in my opinion -- fresh turkey, swiss cheese, arugula, eggs and spicy bang bang sauce all come together in the most delicious bite of breakfast sandwich your tastebuds have ever seen. You can order ahead online if you're getting breakfast sandwiches only, but not all of them are available via the online portal as of me writing this message (the Bang Bang isn't on there yet unfortunately). All that said, this review was written during the first week of them being fully open for the summer with a brand new staff, so they're still working out the kinks. I'm confident that if you're coming here later in the summer, the wait won't be as arduous. read more

Everyone in my group who ordered a sandwich felt the filling wasn't balanced with the bagel, so the bites just felt like a whole lot of bread! I've been waiting to try this place out for several years because of the great reviews, but never had the opportunity until now. When you submit an online pick up order, you have to purchase at least $25 (which I've never seen a place do this before) - what if I just want one bagel sandwich? Also, you cannot purchase a plain bagel, half dozen bagels, or dozen bagels online. But you can purchase a tub of cream cheese (to eat it on a bagel(s) you cannot purchase?). I ended up getting several sandwiches and bagels w/ cream cheese because of the $25 min purchase. I wanted to try the french toast bagel that everyone raved about in the reviews - it was not that great tbh. I also ordered bagel with egg/cheese - there was hardly any filling inside. Bagels-to-go IN THE OFF SEASON - my favorite time to go to Lighthouse lol - any time there isn't a line snaking out the front door and I can walk in and walk out with a bag of freshly made bagels under my arm is my favorite time to go. (But during busy season, there's good reason for there being a line out the door every morning - just a solid choice for a North-of-Duck helping of bagels and bagel sandwiches (including piping-hot-and-hefty bfast egg, meat and cheese bagel sandos). If you're here on the OBX before crazy I mean busy season starts and are hankerin' for bagels, take advantage of their pre-season opening (be sure to check business hours before hopping in the car as pre-season hours are shorter) and GO check this place out. Came in a bit later in AM to avoid massive wait. Staff was friendly, efficient and offered great suggestions. Snagged a baker's dozen. At checkout, spoke with the manager about prior experience and he made it right (without asking or prompting, totally unsolicited). Walked out with a big smile. This place is only open seasonally but they make the BEST breakfast sandwiches! We were staying in a house right around the corner from here and decided to pop in. I am not sure how anyone can have a negative review for this place. My husband and I went here every morning we stayed at Corolla. I had their breakfast sandwich on the Sriracha bagel which was amazing. The next day they were sold out. My husband loved the French toast bagel. Their coffee cake is amazing... we got some to go and we were happy we did! Great prices I highly recommend! There isn't much around, but this place is a gem. read more
