New location is the best yet, has an outdoor area and a bar that sells really good local beer! Definitely feels like a home town place, all staff are friendly and helpful. Visited twice this time, was busy both times but sandwiches are made fast & flavorful. Had the Killer & Jennabelle on a Kaiser roll. Not going to bore you with details, just get it they are awesome. Right off the main road, missing this local gem on your trip would be a huge mistake. Get lunch to go or hang for a bit and talk with the owners, this new upgraded location feels like home. Cute little deli. Has a small bar you can order food and local beer. Dog friendly area out back- bar also has popsicles and treats for your dog. Bathroom is pretty clean garbage over flowing. I ordered the Reuben and the Wright Brothers sub. Reuben was good couldn't taste the cheese and there was some gristle Ii couldn't chew through. The Wright Brothers sub was tasty- bread was nice, soft and fresh- the lettuce was old and brown. After I pulled the lettuce off it tasted good. The person at the counter was friendly. read more

Staff was friendly and patient. The only real downside for us was trying to navigate the large menu, it's hard to read it all and take it in!!! They do have some menus in a basket on the front counter, we just missed them initially. After trying to absorb the menu, I ordered my own typical sandwich to just test the waters: turkey sloppy joe! Went here on yelp recommendations I was surprised that when they rang me up I was charged $4 extra for each sandwich for changing the bread from rye to a deli roll without them even mentioning that there was an up charge. $40 for two sandwiches two chips and one drink seemed pretty steep to me Would definitely go elsewhere next maybe consider giving people a heads up for an up charge especially when it's $8 almost the price of a sandwich read more

This was a great find to get sandwiches before heading to the beach for the day. Easy to order sandwiches online and pick-them up. Plus the bonus of it all was that the food was yummy! We had a roast beef and Turkey on a Kaiser roll and it was packed full of meat. The other sandwich we tried was the turkey club on toasted sourdough. Also packed full of meat. The place for deli sandwiches in OBX. We planned our day around coming here for lunch. The sandwiches are made quickly and piled high with meat, cheese, veggies, and condiments. The menu is posted above the counter. After ordering, grab a table or watch as they create your tasty masterpiece. The inside is a little small with high ceilings. We were looking for a sandwich spot to pick up lunch for our beach day. Country Deli came up over and over as one of the best in the area. We stopped in and ordered an Italian to go. We planned to share it, I wanted tomato with mild peppers on my half and hubby wanted no tomato with hot peppers on his half. They didn't have a way to enter this info so the lady making sandwiches said they would put it all on the side. They wrapped the tomato slices as well as the mild and hot peppers in a piece of foil. I'm still not sure why they weren't able to just add it to the sandwich. We arrived back to our rental and I finished assembling the sandwich then headed to the beach. I wasn't a huge fan of the Italian. I thought the bologna flavor overtook the whole sandwich, the bread was bland and nothing special, there wasn't enough Italian dressing either. Honestly the size of these sandwiches is ridiculous. It easily feeds two people and possibly 3. Don't worry about it being slightly more expensive than other places because there is so much meat on these sandwiches. My wife got one of their salads and it was also huge. Their bologna had incredible flavor and their staff is super friendly. The only thing I would change was the Italian sandwich had a bit too much dressing for me but other than that it was great! Most subs nowadays are some lame, hard bread with an ounce of lunch meat and then loaded down with cheap ingredients like lettuce to make it seem large. Not Country Deli. These were some hefty mamas. I ordered the Man Handler and let me tell you, it was the size of a newborn child. Prices might seem like a lot for a sandwich until you realize they just gave you the entire deli aisle from the grocery store down the street. I am so glad we came here on a whim and I would have come here every day if my husband would have let me. It was SO good. We stopped in after a morning of golfing and we were famished.
