Great sushi in Corolla. Gave this place a try as the other sushi place was not open. Ordered over the phone, it was quickly ready. Went inside for pickup and it seems it's the place that locals go in the offseason. Nicely decorated, tables or sushi bar. Staff very nice. Food typical for quick sushi. May go back again.

This place may be Corolla's best kept secret for sushi. The place itself was quaint but had enough space for my walker. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious we also had two ichiban beers. The service was very friendly and accommodating. I think my favorite bites were the gyoza and the spider and fantasy rolls because they had real crab. I definitely would come back again.

This review is for a 4 roll carryout to-go order for dinner. We've been here a few times before, always for eat-in - definitely recommend this place for its fresh and authentic sushi and Japanese fare. The place is tiny inside - neat and clean and suitably decorated, nothing fancy but the super reasonable prices make up for that. Check out the menu screenshots I posted from their website. For authentic sushi - and there is LOTS to choose from on the menu - IMPRESSIVE. They offer classic as well as specialty rolls (with some creative roll names!) - the classic rolls were good enough for us but the specialty rolls looked tempting too. For 2 of us, the 4 rolls we ordered to go were all freshly hand made to order, delicious and plenty filling. See my pics. Also paired well with our glasses of wine. :)

"They treat me like a king down in Okinawa and I may never come back no more" (Ry Cooder) We had a few hours to spend in Corolla before our Wild Horse excursion was scheduled to depart, so we journeyed over to the Timbuk II plaza and had a leisurely and very enjoyable lunch at Okinawa Sushi and Grill. We dove into their big lunch menu and my wife chose a Hollywood Box with a California Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, seaweed salad, a spring roll, and a side of white rice ($14). I went with a Miso soup ($2.50) and a Spicy Chicken Grill Bowl with broccoli, squash, carrots, and white rice ($13). My lunch was great! The sauce in the Spicy Chicken Bowl delivered a lot of heat to accompany all of the grilled chicken chunks and nicely coat the veggies and rice. Service was wonderful, and the young lady that took care of us was as friendly and just plain "nice" as could be. What a great place to eat in Corolla!

Friendly staff. Clean environment and facilities. Food was delicious. I enjoyed the lunch box option. My son was happy so I was happy. I would definitely come back. Check them out!

Looks scary from the outside. Almost didn't go in. But once I did it was a cute little place. The food was delicious. Some of the best sushi I have had. The prices are really good as well.

Vacationing during our fiftieth anniversary celebration, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at Off The…read moreWall. My husband really enjoyed his specialty crispy, apple, jack, chicken, bacon, sandwich on grilled focaccia. My crab cake, tomato and aioli sandwich on brioche was excellent. Neither of us wanted French fries and were given the option of side salad or onion rings. We chose the salad which was very large and filled with spinach, onions, baby tomatoes, and croutons. We overhead the couple sitting next to us discuss ingredients in their salad before ordering. Because there have been numerous recalls of lettuce and jalapeño, the waitress created a side salad using this customer's requested greens! An added bonus featured smaller crowds and lots of parking spots. This was not the case at Duck or Kitty Hawk, et al.

I don't necessarily blame the restaurant for that since people are constantly coming and going through both the front door and patio, but it did affect the experience. We didn't try the beer wall this time. We came primarily for the food, and I'm glad we did. We both ordered the Angry Chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic. It had great flavor, a good level of spice, and was absolutely massive. For $19, though, it better be big! Honestly, I almost wish they offered a smaller version with just one chicken patty at a lower price. The sandwich has so many great elements, but it's almost too much food. I'd happily order a smaller version. Our server was friendly, but he was clearly spread pretty thin. It took a while to get drink refills and our check. Overall, there were a few things that could have been better, but I'd definitely come back for that chicken sandwich.

We stopped here for lunch between visiting the Currituck Lighthouse and Whalehead Club and our late-afternoon wild horse tour. The restaurant is tucked into the corner of a strip-mall-type complex and was a little difficult to find, but we were sure glad we did. The lunch special was a fried flounder basket with wonderfully seasoned, crispy French fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. It's a walk-up-and-order, seat-yourself kind of place. It appeared that the same person taking orders was also cooking and bringing the food to the tables. We ate outside on a very small deck overlooking a tiny bridge and waterway. The setting is simple, but the fresh, well-cooked food was definitely the highlight. This little hidden gem was well worth finding!

The restaurant itself is a nice, open space, although the decor is a little odd with a lot of fake flowers everywhere. We started with the calamari and crab dip. The crab dip was easily the best thing we had. Creamy, flavorful and served with fried pita chips that were hot, crispy and really good. The calamari was just okay. It tasted a little like it may have been frozen rather than freshly prepared. I had the cheeseburger, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. The fries were actually pretty good and nicely crisp. The biggest miss for me was the spicy margarita. The spice came from pickled jalapeños, which gave the whole drink a strange pickled flavor instead of that fresh jalapeño heat I was expecting. I ended up not drinking it. Overall, not a bad experience, especially considering it was off-season and they were working with a very small staff. The crab dip was definitely the standout.
