It really pains me to put this review. This isn't a dine in review as I always had good service. I made a catering order via phone. The phone was passed around several times. Finally they got it down. A few days later, when I came in to pick up, I was told I did not confirm. I confirmed with three different people. I was the unable to pick up my order of two trays. They did not have my order. I then had to wait much longer to pick up. This really soured my experience. read more

I've been meaning to try this restaurant for a while now and finally got a chance to this week during President's Day for dinner. After we were seated and waiting for our order, several folks came in to pick up their take out. You could tell they were regulars. The place had a homey, comfortable vibe and the space is small. We probably over ordered as the menu had a lot of options at reasonable prices. Someone in our group had a nut allergy and another had a seafood allergy. Our server made sure to tell the chef and verified which dishes did NOT have them. We ordered the crispy calamari, fresh spring rolls, chicken pad thai, papaya salad, panang pork curry, tom yum soup, and tamarind fish. Portions were good. My favorite dish was the fresh spring rolls. They are probably among the best fresh spring rolls I have tasted in the Stockton-Lodi area. We ordered all our dishes to be on the mild side. We noticed that the food tasted a little sweeter compared to thai food we've had at Siamese Street but nonetheless very tasty. The server shared they've been around for 10 years now. Yay! My daughter fell asleep after I ordered our lunch there was no upfront parking so I called back to ask how much and if she could possibly bring the food to my car because my daughter fell asleep. So yummy! And accommodating of our vegetarian needs. The service is cheerful and attentive, though the dining room is tiny and plain. What it lacks in ambience, it make up for in flavor. We had the Fresh Spring Rolls, Basil Eggplant, and Yellow Curry. The curry wasn't quite a spicy as I like, but that is easily remedied with a little of the red chili paste that is on the table. First time visiting this location as I'm exploring the Lodi area. I will be honest with the view from the outside of the building. I wasn't too sure what to expect. When you walk in you are presented with the very small location for occupancy. But from the moment I walked in the door, the service and hospitality was very inviting. I did notice as I started sitting down and placing my order and getting my drinks that a lot of foot traffic was taking place at this business. Which led me to believe that a lot of people enjoy their food and or their specialty drinks from here. I chose to go with their udon shrimp soup which was really delicious and it was a big serving. And right before I left, I placed an order to go for a Thai tea, which was really delicious. I got the warmth in the fulfillment from my soup portion and then I got the sweetness, which took place as a dessert for me with my Thai tea. I would definitely like to visit here again to try some more of their dishes especially like their pad Thai, which is a favorite dish of mine as well as try some other options. But just know that once you decide to visit this location, you can either be seated right away, or be expected to kinda wait outside until a table is available as mentioned this is a pretty popular spot for the city of Lodi. read more

Very poor communication when placing phone orders. I ordered for a catering event a few weeks ago- a small order of pad thai and a small order of pad broccoli. I ordered for a catering event before and it ran perfect. This time, the mistakes could have been prevented, which led me to this sour review. I understand there was a language barrier but after the phone was being passed around 3 times, I thought they had my correct order placed, with confirming the date, time and phone number. I went to pick it up on the date I asked for, my order was not on the pick up list. They said because I did not confirm when clearly I did after the third time the phone was passed around. I waited 20 minutes for the reorder, no problem, but it was not worth for how much I paid for a small tray. My order was wrong again. We usually eat there when we come to Lodi because their pad Thai is delicious, but it doesn't seem like we will be ordering for a catering event again. read more

Second time ordering from Thai Kitchen, and I'm wondering why it's only the second! I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and was blown away by the flavor and portion size. Not to mention a fair price. I honestly knew the food here would be great from the moment I saw how small the restaurant was. The quality of the food and the spices used were amazing. Ambiance: 4/5 - The restaurant is small and doesn't have a lot of seating, however the vibe was very homey and I would've enjoyed sitting down to eat here. Price: 5/5 - Standard pricing for a Thai restaurant. I was able to get 3 entrees for $40 with great portion size. Note, this was without a tip as it was a takeout meal. Food: 5/5 - I cannot say enough about this food. As a fan of spicy food, I got the spiciest level they had with additional hot sauce. However, if you can look past that, you will experience some amazing eats! We always get the veggie egg rolls. They are very good, come 5 to an order, served hot and crispy. Comes with a light & flavorful dipping sauce. The shrimp spring rolls are fresh & yummy. You get 2 large rolls in each order. The peanut sauce served with the spring rolls is the best I've had. A humble, small restaurant casually tucked away in Lodi hides some of the most delicious, authentic tasting Thai food directly outside of the SF Bay Area. I opted for an essential pad see ew and mango sticky rice (not pictured). The pad see ew was incredibly aromatic with a perfect balance of sauce creating a wonderful salty and savory flavor. The mango sticky rice was sweet, warm, and accompanied by a BOUNTY of mangos. Definitely great value and would have again if driving through. read more

Food was served fresh and hot. The fries tofu and dipping sauce was simple but with sauce drizzled or poured on top, made it very tasty. My favorite dish was the garlic chicken. The crushed peanuts gave this dish a wonderful crunch. The only thing I'd do differently is ask for NO cilantro. Luckily it was easy to pull off and wasn't mixed in just a too garnish. My vegetarian really enjoyed her dishes. Said the pineapple tofu fried rice was very good. I did try wish I had gotten a cashew but I didn't did in. But it was still tasty. The pad se uw was good. I don't often eat Thai food so I don't really have anything to gauge the food by. I really enjoyed that the chicken served was all chicken breast which will make this a for sure go back for me. I ordered one of their recommendations, the garlic noodles, and it was the comfort food I needed after a busy workday. It was warm and savory. Our server checked on us regularly. This little restaurant was a welcome surprise in downtown Lodi. Yelp led us here in 91 degree weather - both of is were craving Thai and here we landed. Unpretentious, comfy with modest decor with a menu that's almost bigger than the restaurant itself. We ordered a bunch of food and sadly we had to refrain from taking home leftovers because we were leaving town the next day. But feast we did: garlic chicken, we added broccoli for some green it was delicious. Noodles with veggies were yummy too. Crispy egg rolls and coconut Tom Kha soup were nuclear hot fresh from the stove top and both were quite tasty. We made a good effort but there was enough food for 3. They do a bang up to go business, but sitting inside amongst the Thai statues and cultural artwork somehow makes the food taste more authentic. Service was swift. Free street parking. I had ordered the basil eggplant with brown rice on the side. Flavors were pretty good. I would say I wanted more of other veggies but I always want more veggies. The bell peppers were a little underdone though, but everything else was cooked adequately. I liked that it had been cooked enough that the flavor set in and didn't just sit on top as a sauce. Another stellar win for the Yelperverse!! I'm driving home today from a week up in Sac/Tahoe and I'm craving something Asian. After a quick search for Pho, Thai Kitchen pops up first on my screen. Really Yelp? A Thai joint...for Pho! Yes, people. If you're wondering, this humble Thai joint makes a solid bowl of pho!! Honestly, a bit weak on the amount of beef. But I didn't miss it. A fragrant bowl of delicious broth, perfectly chewy noodles and an abundance of toppings made this really hot the pho spot in my heart (and belly). On top of that...a super delicious plate of LAO STYLE green papaya salad!!! Are you kidding me?!? Absolutely serious!! Sweet, funky, rich, complex Lao Style GPS. I'm stoked...and a bit amazed!! A word of caution to anyone who's gotten this far...their chili oil is the serious business!! I like hot...and I mean Thai Style, put you on the floor grabbing your face...HOT!!
