Lomi Lomi, Sunset Roll

I've been here many times, and it's another great sushi spot in Lodi that I would recommend. The rolls are delicious, and the cold plates and sashimi are always fresh and flavorful. Every time I've visited, the restaurant has been busy, but the servers have still been attentive. They also have patio seating that can accommodate bigger groups. Overall, I've always left satisfied after every visit.

Had higher hopes for Komachi Sushi but food and service fell short. They offer a wide variety of rolls which was fun to choose from, but the slices of fish on top were very thin so the flavors of each roll were overpowered by the sauces. We tried the Candy Cane, Donny's Roll, Omega-3, and Komachi Spicy Tuna. I will say I did like the pop of acidity from the lemon slices on top of the Omega-3 roll. But overall felt like the sauces were doing most of the heavy lifting rather than letting the fish or individual ingredients stand out.

I will never complain about Komachi sushi. The only time we complain is when we can't get sushi from here because we aren't in Lodi. The service is always excellent the atmosphere is awesome with indoor and outdoor seating available. We went today for lunch and were seated quickly even though they were busy. Everything is always fresh. Probably one of the only places around I will eat uni from. The uni here is always soooo fresh and tasty. We've never been dissatisfied with anything here. I can't say enough great things about this place. Sushi chef Kevin is awesome and always comes to greet us at our table and offers us new things to try. As well as the servers and the owners! This is our go to place to eat whenever we go out. Thank you to all the staff at Komachi! You always go above and beyond and that's why we love you!

We stopped in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a mix of rolls, edamame, salad, and udon vegetable soup. Everything came out fresh and nicely plated without feeling overdone. The specialty roll with salmon and spicy sauce had great balance, and the fish tasted clean and fresh. The California roll was simple but well made, which honestly says a lot. The edamame was hot and perfectly salted. The house salad with dressing was light and flavorful. The udon vegetable soup was comforting and filling with fresh vegetables and soft noodles in a flavorful broth. Service was attentive and friendly. It was fairly loud during our visit, but the staff stayed on top of everything and we never felt ignored. The space felt clean with warm wood tables and modern touches. We finished with a vanilla ice cream dessert, "waffle ice cream" topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle, which was simple and fun to share. Date night with the wife. I've heard good things about this restaurant and they are true. Very busy but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their dishes. It was a cold night and seating was only available outside. However, their set up is very cozy with space heaters and complimentary blankets at each seat. We started off with drinks and Yakitori appetizer. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty. For our main course my wife ordered the hot Ramen soup which she liked a lot. I had the omega 3 and flaming dragon sushi rolls and they did not disappoint; my favorite was the Omega. The papaya sauce was delicious. I look forward to coming back to Komachi. Happy travels !

First time trying out this Japanese spot. There was no reseveration needed at the time we arrived. We ordered 2 dinner bento boxes and 1 ramen dish. For the bento box my mom order the chicken teriyaki, pork katsu and salmon teriyaki. She said the katsu sauce tasted ok but she tasted better sauce elsewhere. My bento box, I got the salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki and fried goyza. My only complaint for the bento would have to be not enough teriyaki sauce. My dad ordered the tonkotsu ramen. I found his dish to be on the salty side. Overall, the food tasted good and portion size was a good amount. Service was quick, attentive and friendly.

Code 3

This is always my go to spot! Whenever I'm craving sushi. The service was quick. It was already busy after opening within the first hour. Ambience was cute, we got seated outside and they had blankets for us to use if wanted. I thought that was very considerate. We ordered two bento boxes. Chicken katsu, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki for the main dish and had other things and then ordered code 3 and flaming dragon. Everyone should try the code 3 . It's a must. The only concern I had was the calamari. It was very tough and very hard to chew. Other than that, the flavor was there and the presentation. I didn't think it was a big deal, but wished it was more tender. Overall, always a great experience and great food Highly recommend this place! 10/10 Hope one day they can have another one in Lathrop/ Manteca area

Review #954 Posted on 10.20.25 We came here for dinner after my son's game at Lodi (The Grape Bowl) for dinner. To be honest this experience ended up being super unexpected & a pleasant surprise for a dinner/meal. I was looking places up on Yelp, and this one was 2nd down list when searching Sushi, probably for distance from where we were when searching. This place had over 1K reviews and an overall rating in the 4's. That's not a coincidence in my experience using this app over the years. The main reason out of the many this spot gets 5 stars was our server Jorge. This guy was insanely good. He was super calm, cool, & on top of everything with perfect timing yet without seeming overbearing. Hard to pull off. They had blankets on their chairs outside, nice touch, hook, line, & sinker my wife with that one. Now the food. Calamari- Nice portion size. Most places deep fry theirs, this place didn't, it was fried but not deep so you could taste the chewyness of the squid. Stuffed Mushrooms- These were 4 fat breaded fried mushrooms. There's some sweet sauce topped on the mushrooms, it had great texture & taste. The mushroom stuffing was really good. Flaming Dragon- This roll was awesome. It came on a long plate that had salt on the bottom, the roll wrapped in foil, then lit on fire. Wait about 4 minutes, then they unwrap it. The roll is kind of smoked like with a slight bit of crunch on the rice, super unique and it was tasty too. 100% recommend & we will be back.

Double Alba roll, Unagi, and black mackerel.

It is all about the food here! The chefs have been going on and I had some of the best sushi ever and I have been around the world trying sushi. I strongly recommend the double Alba roll for a spicy tuna experience. It was just phenomenal, so much so that I bought one to go as I was signing my bill I need it for breakfast the next day. Amazing. Surface was good, it's a team effort so don't expect one really good server just a lot of different servers. Prices were reasonable but again, this is five star sushi. By any standard this is exceptional!

Another awesome meal here! As usual sushi is artistically presented and tasty. Fast and friendly service. Restaurant was packed today but still had prompt seating and service. Today Billie Holiday on the over head, very relaxed atmosphere.

Food was amazing. Customer service from the waiters was also very good. They were all nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

We walked in on a Tuesday evening. A few friends and I decided to try komachi. It's been years since we've been here and wanted to check it out. We were greeted fairly quick, and seated quick. Our order was taken fast and the restaurant is small inside, but there was outdoor seating as well with propane heaters. We shared appetizers which included fried calamari and spicy garlic Edamame. For our sushi, we all ordered our own items, but I went with a Philadelphia roll and a San Francisco roll. Which all tasted amazing. We would be back.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Lodi! We always come here to celebrate special occasions. Even friends from Sacramento make the drive just to eat here! The fish is incredibly fresh--like the uni, which comes straight from Hokkaido, Japan. You can really taste the quality. One of my must-orders is the Ika Shioyaki, perfectly grilled and seasoned. And if you like a little kick, don't miss the Flaming Dragon roll, sooooo good! Their Bento Box is also a standout. Unlike most places that let you pick just 2 items, Komachi lets you choose 3‼ and it's a great deal for the quality you get.:) The owner lived in Japan as a child, and the authenticity comes through in the food. Friendly staff, great service! This place never disappoints.

The only picture I got was before the food came out. We devoured the food as soon as it came out.

Still the best place in town. Gotta try the new skewers items on the menu. The little personal grill is such a cool touch.

Ask the Community - Komachi Sushi

Do they take reservations?

Yes, but only 1 reservation per every hour.

Is there a phone number that actually works? Called both number provided and both auto disconnects after ringing a few times.

Reason for that is both numbers are busy taking calls... so sorry, you just have to keep trying

Are there Vegan options available?

Yes

Do they have happy hour specials?

Happy hour is available Monday through Friday from 2-4. Certain menu items are offered at a lower price during happy hour, such as: appetizers (from kitchen and sushi bar), rolls and drinks (SCB nigori sake, house wine and Japanese beers). Happy…

Are there any wheat free options? I am allergic so,I,am trying to find accomadating, sushi places.?

The restaurant does carry tamari, which is a gluten free soy sauce. Their sashimi is also gluten free. Some of their sauces (gyoza, ponzu, teriyaki, etc) are soy sauce based, so I would ask for an alternative sauce or no sauce. Some foods that are…

Had the nicest and quietest dinner here last night. This was our first time and while it's a really…read moresmall little dining room, the low lighting and light jazz music playing in their sound system made it extra cozy and nice. We were the only customers and got there around 6:30. My only critique is that there were a lot of employees and we were the only patrons, yet our two servers did seem distracted and forgot a couple of things throughout the meal. I'm giving grace for that because it was a very slow night and they were probably just chit chatting in the back. I would've had no issue giving this 5 stars if it wasn't for that one small thing. Service otherwise was very friendly and quick The food was fantastic! As a Japanese American who's been eating sushi since I was in the womb, I have to disagree with the yelper who recently said the rolls are too small and too expensive. The rolls we ordered were huge and the fish was very fresh and on par with M sushi and Komachi. Is it a luxurious loungy city style vibe? No. But the food is great and the prices are fair imo for the extremely fresh and delicious fish. We ordered two bowls of miso, salmon tataki roll (I only wished for more onions!), the spicy crunchy scallop roll (my new favorite roll in Lodi), snow crab CA roll, and I think the last one was a dragon roll with unagi. They were all great. We were def pleasantly surprised by Yume and will absolutely be coming back.

I have been living in Lodi on and off between my other house in Boise and never tried this place…read moreuntil a few weeks ago. To be honest the only way I am giving this a 3 star was the service. The ambiance was super clean as well and no issues there. My biggest concern was the food except the unagi which was delicious. The Ramen if I was to rate it would be 2 out of 5 stars. No great flavor and a complete disappointment. I would come back to try more sushi but definitely not the ramen.

Pay yourself in sushi! Here's why…read more.. See, I've been told by an esquire, that when you budget, you pay yourself first, before the other required expenses. Sooooo, I pay myself with sushi sometimes. This is acceptable, yeah, cuz either I try to save $25, which would eventually get spent anyway, or use it on something valuable. The value of sushi or sashimi with vegetables, is that it contains your alphabet Vitamins A, B, C, and D; plus, the greatly beneficial Omega-3. In addition to those benefits, getting a bento box combo with chicken gives you more protein for building muscle. This array of vitamins and protein sources provides satiety. It's an ideal meal for gym goers and maybe health enthusiasts; or like me a part-time dog walker. Alright, now that you've heard me out and possibly have known all this before, then, yeah have brunch, lunch, or dinner here at Matsuyama. They're conveniently located around the corner from the gym. Perfect for you! ...and also, it beats having to look for a different parking space. Just walk, you know. The shopping plaza has a great coffee shop too. Once they open, it's nice and quiet so you get fast service with individualized attention. They're calm and check on you frequently enough. Simple conversation, and a peaceful meal; peaceful like it would be on a pine mountain (Matsuyama).
