I've been here many times, and it's another great sushi spot in Lodi that I would recommend. The rolls are delicious, and the cold plates and sashimi are always fresh and flavorful. Every time I've visited, the restaurant has been busy, but the servers have still been attentive. My husband and I saw this spot as we were running errands and decided to try it. It was amazing! All of the rolls were delicious. Our fav was the spiderman. It had quite a few people there during lunch which also told us that the food was gonna be yummy. The server was great at explaining and helping us choose what to order. We will definitely be back soon.
Had higher hopes for Komachi Sushi but food and service fell short. They offer a wide variety of rolls which was fun to choose from, but the slices of fish on top were very thin so the flavors of each roll were overpowered by the sauces. We tried the Candy Cane, Donny's Roll, Omega-3, and Komachi Spicy Tuna. I will say I did like the pop of acidity from the lemon slices on top of the Omega-3 roll. But overall felt like the sauces were doing most of the heavy lifting rather than letting the fish or individual ingredients stand out.
I will never complain about Komachi sushi. The only time we complain is when we can't get sushi from here because we aren't in Lodi. The service is always excellent the atmosphere is awesome with indoor and outdoor seating available. We went today for lunch and were seated quickly even though they were busy. Everything is always fresh. Probably one of the only places around I will eat uni from. The uni here is always soooo fresh and tasty. We've never been dissatisfied with anything here. I can't say enough great things about this place. Sushi chef Kevin is awesome and always comes to greet us at our table and offers us new things to try. As well as the servers and the owners! This is our go to place to eat whenever we go out. Thank you to all the staff at Komachi! You always go above and beyond and that's why we love you!
Date night with the wife. I've heard good things about this restaurant and they are true. Very busy but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their dishes. It was a cold night and seating was only available outside. However, their set up is very cozy with space heaters and complimentary blankets at each seat. We started off with drinks and Yakitori appetizer. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty. For our main course my wife ordered the hot Ramen soup which she liked a lot. I had the omega 3 and flaming dragon sushi rolls and they did not disappoint; my favorite was the Omega. The papaya sauce was delicious. I look forward to coming back to Komachi. Happy travels !
We stopped in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a mix of rolls, edamame, salad, and udon vegetable soup. Everything came out fresh and nicely plated without feeling overdone. The specialty roll with salmon and spicy sauce had great balance, and the fish tasted clean and fresh. The California roll was simple but well made, which honestly says a lot. The edamame was hot and perfectly salted. The house salad with dressing was light and flavorful. The udon vegetable soup was comforting and filling with fresh vegetables and soft noodles in a flavorful broth. Service was attentive and friendly. It was fairly loud during our visit, but the staff stayed on top of everything and we never felt ignored. The space felt clean with warm wood tables and modern touches. We finished with a vanilla ice cream dessert, "waffle ice cream" topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle, which was simple and fun to share. This is always my go to spot! Whenever I'm craving sushi. The service was quick. It was already busy after opening within the first hour. Ambience was cute, we got seated outside and they had blankets for us to use if wanted. I thought that was very considerate. We ordered two bento boxes. Chicken katsu, beef teriyaki, chicken teriyaki for the main dish and had other things and then ordered code 3 and flaming dragon. Everyone should try the code 3 . It's a must. The only concern I had was the calamari. It was very tough and very hard to chew. Other than that, the flavor was there and the presentation. I didn't think it was a big deal, but wished it was more tender. Overall, always a great experience and great food Highly recommend this place! 10/10 Hope one day they can have another one in Lathrop/ Manteca area
Absolute number one sushi place. I take friends from all over to Lodi just for this sushi and it never disappoints. The rolls are incredible and I have yet to have better rolls anywhere. Average sushi roll price plus the rolls are thick! My favorite three to order together: Starfire (everyone's fave when I make them try it), Sunset, Firecracker. I also love their tempura green beans yummm. Forever my birthday dinner spot!

To be honest this experience ended up being super unexpected & a pleasant surprise for a dinner/meal. I was looking places up on Yelp, and this one was 2nd down list when searching Sushi, probably for distance from where we were when searching. This place had over 1K reviews and an overall rating in the 4's. That's not a coincidence in my experience using this app over the years. The main reason out of the many this spot gets 5 stars was our server Jorge. This guy was insanely good. He was super calm, cool, & on top of everything with perfect timing yet without seeming overbearing. Hard to pull off. They had blankets on their chairs outside, nice touch, hook, line, & sinker my wife with that one. Now the food. Calamari- Nice portion size. Most places deep fry theirs, this place didn't, it was fried but not deep so you could taste the chewyness of the squid. Stuffed Mushrooms- These were 4 fat breaded fried mushrooms. There's some sweet sauce topped on the mushrooms, it had great texture & taste. The mushroom stuffing was really good. Flaming Dragon- This roll was awesome. It came on a long plate that had salt on the bottom, the roll wrapped in foil, then lit on fire. Wait about 4 minutes, then they unwrap it. The roll is kind of smoked like with a slight bit of crunch on the rice, super unique and it was tasty too. 100% recommend & we will be back.
First time trying out this Japanese spot. There was no reseveration needed at the time we arrived. We ordered 2 dinner bento boxes and 1 ramen dish. For the bento box my mom order the chicken teriyaki, pork katsu and salmon teriyaki. She said the katsu sauce tasted ok but she tasted better sauce elsewhere. My bento box, I got the salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki and fried goyza. My only complaint for the bento would have to be not enough teriyaki sauce. My dad ordered the tonkotsu ramen. I found his dish to be on the salty side. Overall, the food tasted good and portion size was a good amount. Service was quick, attentive and friendly.
Another awesome meal here! As usual sushi is artistically presented and tasty. Fast and friendly service. Restaurant was packed today but still had prompt seating and service. Today Billie Holiday on the over head, very relaxed atmosphere.
We walked in on a Tuesday evening. A few friends and I decided to try komachi. It's been years since we've been here and wanted to check it out. We were greeted fairly quick, and seated quick. Our order was taken fast and the restaurant is small inside, but there was outdoor seating as well with propane heaters. We shared appetizers which included fried calamari and spicy garlic Edamame. For our sushi, we all ordered our own items, but I went with a Philadelphia roll and a San Francisco roll. Which all tasted amazing. We would be back.
It is all about the food here! The chefs have been going on and I had some of the best sushi ever and I have been around the world trying sushi. I strongly recommend the double Alba roll for a spicy tuna experience. It was just phenomenal, so much so that I bought one to go as I was signing my bill I need it for breakfast the next day. Amazing. Surface was good, it's a team effort so don't expect one really good server just a lot of different servers. Prices were reasonable but again, this is five star sushi. By any standard this is exceptional!
Currently my favorite Lodi sushi place. We've been coming here much longer than we've been living here, and the quality has remained consistent. We can usually depend on it being busy as they offer a small dining area with limited tables outside, so when we do walk in we do so prepared. They do have a reservation system but to my knowledge we have not used it. We just walk up and greet the staff person at the door to check in, and they tell us what the wait is like. If it's over a half hour we usually kill time in Raley's. It's usually not longer than a 20 minute wait. If you are a large party, things might get cramped, but I've seen them pull it off with gusto. We've never had a party larger than four and it's been great. I really like the folks who work here. And the food is great too. They have a few tvs and a little sushi bar at the back, and the noise level is about average depending on how many children are dining with their families. Komachi has a dedicated vegetarian menu and I've tried most of the things on it. I love that they have marinated shiitake rolls, my fave of the standard veggie sushi innards. Yummy! My favorite rolls on the menu are the Garden Roll (steamed asparagus, avocado, cucumber, kanpyo, and shiitake), Shittake Maki, and the Rich Jumbo Roll (fried asparagus, fried onion, avocado, cream cheese, and cucumber). Appetizers I have tried and enjoyed very much include the Agedashi tofu, fried brussels sprouts (I have to remember to have the fish flake removed from this dish though), and of course, wakame (seaweed salad). They do have ramen, donburi, bento boxes, teppanyaki (the tofu one I look forward to trying soon!) and salads as well if you're not in the sushi mood. I like their seasonal drink menu, featuring wine, soju, and beer. Komachi is also reasonably priced. Yeah, pretty much everything I'm looking for when me and my boo are craving sushi. Vegan Corner: several items can be made vegan upon request, but there is not a dedicated menu. Bathroom Report: noisy pipes will not hurt you, at least it's smelling fresh right? read more

It's been years since I've been here and I have good experiences in the past. But I came here for dinner on a weekday with my friend and was a bit underwhelmed. We were seated immediately which was nice and the place was bustling. The server checked on us periodically in a timely manner throughout the dinner. My friend and I both ordered the sashimi-nigiri combo and though we got the sides of salad and miso soup right away, the actual sushi took quite a while to arrive. The miso soup was also a bit too salty and grainy for my liking. My friend and I were deep into our conversation but the lengthy time it took a while just to bring out our one orders each became noticeable enough for us to wonder where it was. My big takeaway from our experience with the Nigiri and Sashimi: not prime quality. I have been to other sushi places for nigiri and have had better quality and tasting fish elsewhere. This was kind of bland and sad. I want to come back to Komachi and give it an honest shot with the other items on the menu, but my usual favorites (sashimi and nigiri) did not impress me at all... I hope I can return to update this review with better things to say.. read more
I want to start off by saying I/we've been coming to Komachi for years. The food is always fantastic. Service is generally great. Last Wednesday, our server said something really rude and I don't even think he realized it but it was jarring enough to lower my rating for this visit. I'm sure next time will be back to normal as long as that young kid gets some training on hospitality. The food was fantastic as always. Saying to a customer who asks about an item that passed by their table- "you can't order that it's only for regulars or people who've been coming here a while" is not welcoming or polite and I'm shocked to be saying this about one of my favorite restaurants in town. read more

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Lodi! We always come here to celebrate special occasions. Even friends from Sacramento make the drive just to eat here! The fish is incredibly fresh--like the uni, which comes straight from Hokkaido, Japan. You can really taste the quality. One of my must-orders is the Ika Shioyaki, perfectly grilled and seasoned. And if you like a little kick, don't miss the Flaming Dragon roll, sooooo good! Their Bento Box is also a standout. Unlike most places that let you pick just 2 items, Komachi lets you choose 3‼ and it's a great deal for the quality you get.:) The owner lived in Japan as a child, and the authenticity comes through in the food. The service was great, specially with the big party that I had. The sushi's were amazing. My ladies and I ordered all different sushi's to try out. It was awesome. Drinks were delicious also, cute and not enough lol. Highly recommend for a date night or even just a casual day for some good sushi. Went here for lunch for the first time the food was very good. Unfortunately the service was slow to get your food to a table when you're on a lunch hour. We had to take somebody back to work and then I had to come back to finish my lunch. Would like to go back when I don't have to rush. I had the vegetable and shrimp tempura and the other two had bento boxes everything was very good the tempura was amazing read more

I always have great experiences here. Came for an early dinner with my bestie. It was nice that it wasn't too busy so we were immediately seated. Our waitress was really nice and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the jalapeño bomb and gyoza for starters. We had the GSW, Golden Philadelphia Roll, and the firecracker roll as our main course. We both ordered their peach soju drink. Everything tasted great and left us happy & full. Definitely would return for more. read more

Came in for lunch and ordered the GSW roll, miso soup, salad, garlic chili edamame, and jalapeño bombs. The GSW roll is my favorite here and, as always, it was really good. I love the crunch from the deep-fried scallops on top, it's what makes this roll stand out for me. The miso soup was average and lacked depth of flavor; I've had better at other sushi spots. The salad was basic mixed greens with a simple dressing - fine, but nothing memorable. I usually enjoy the edamame here, but this time it was disappointing. We ordered the garlic chili edamame, but there was no noticeable garlic or chili flavor, and it definitely could have used some salt. Overall, it was very bland. The jalapeño bombs are sliced jalapeños filled with cream cheese and crab meat, breaded in panko, and fried. They were nice and crunchy and didn't skimp on the crab, which I appreciated. However, they were lacking flavor. The jalapeños were very mild, so there wasn't much heat or overall punch. The restaurant is located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us multiple times. Inside seating is on the smaller side, and it can get quite loud during the dinner rush, making it less kid-friendly. This spot is still in my regular rotation for sushi, but this visit just didn't hit the mark like it usually does. read more

Komachi is one of my go-to spots for sushi in Lodi! They have an extensive menu with so many delicious options to choose from, which keeps me coming back. The staff here have always been incredibly kind and attentive, making every visit such a pleasant experience. I want to give a special shoutout to my most recent visit with my friend. We were seated on the outdoor patio, and while it was a bit chilly, the team went above and beyond to make us comfortable. There were two heaters nearby, and the staff even provided us with blankets and a shawl to keep warm. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the evening feel so cozy and memorable. Price point is kind of expensive but I do feel like the quality of food & service is definitely worth it! Also, there is usually always a wait here so just be prepared to wait especially on the weekends! read more

Loved this restaurant!! We found it randomly to meet up with family and honestly the sashimi was extremely fresh! The sushi was all extremely tasty and we even ordered ramen which was very good!!!!!!!! We really enjoyed our time and even the atmosphere. Award Winning for sure. We had a wonderful evening at Komachi Sushi. A little of a wait, even on a Tuesday, at dinner time. The staff were very tentative. Outside seating had numerous heaters with little blankets on the backs of each chair. They're are sooo many food option to choose from. We ordered miso soups, Spiderman, GSW, & Candy Cane rolls... everything was delicious. Loved my cocktail which was light, refreshing, & slightly sweet...I think it was called a Ruby Rose. While waiting for our food, the lady next to us had Spicy Ramen & her spouse had Bulgoli Beef...I almost followed the delicious smells over to their seats. So we'll be returning soon to try those next. If you haven't eaten here...put it in your bucket list. read more

Komachi Sushi FTW!!! Jorge delivered an exceptional customer service experience, and I cannot wait to return! My friend and I arrived around 7 pm on a Friday night, so it was a packed house, and all that was left was either bar seating with little elbow room or outside dining. We chose to wait for an indoor table. We didn't wait long, maybe 10 minutes at most. We looked over the menu and at first planned on ordering an appetizer. We ended up skipping that part and instead went right for the goods. The rolls of choice: Flaming Dragon $19.95 Spiderman (XL Size) $23.95 Now, I know what you're thinking. Uhhh, who goes to a sushi place and ONLY gets 2 rolls?! Especially HER!! Well, read up, lol! These aren't skimpy rolls by any means. When we first walked in, we almost sat at the bar, but opted for a table instead. On our way back outside to wait, I passed a couple who had a gargantuan roll on their table. I asked what it was because I had NEVER in my life seen such a beautiful monstrosity! I was intrigued and stared at it as I walked out. The guy said it was the Spiderman, and that's when I knew I HAD to have it. That roll is 100% the largest I have seen. You really have to see it to believe it!! They don't call it "XL Size" for nothin', that's for sure! The Flaming Dragon was such a delightful roll. Jorge lit that baby up for us. We watched as the flames slowly died out, and when he opened the foil packet, it was like Christmas morning!! It goes without saying that Komachi Sushi is top tier in my book. I had sushi for lunch earlier in the day, but I was glad to have it again for dinner. You cannot go wrong if you come here. I would happily fly to Sacramento and drive the hour to get here just to have this again!! Prices are well worth it. Service was lovely, and this is an excellent place to dine with family and friends, or even for date night. Ok I'll stop now because I'm starting to drool just thinking about it. I was just here last week but my friend knows how much I love their Uni and their oysters so we're here again. My 2nd time here and this time is better than the last time. All of the food here is amazing. It was a chilly night and ordered the chicken soba soup which was perfect. Paired that with a seasonal hot saki with cinnamon stick. And also enjoyed the extinguisher sushi roll. read more

Long over due, excellent place to get some top quality sushi in the valley. The chef actually care about quality. The only suggestion I can make is, while sitting from the sushi bar. I should not be able to see big spray. Aka "raid" from the dining area. That's it. As always, Komachi does not disappoint. read more

Hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Everything we ordered was outstanding and clearly made with care. We started with the beef wrapped asparagus and Brussels sprouts, both cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The black pepper tuna tataki was next and honestly could have been a meal on its own. Fresh, well balanced, and executed perfectly. The kushiyaki menu really stole the show. The yakitori chicken skewer was juicy and flavorful, the butabara pork belly was rich and perfectly grilled, and the ebi shio shrimp was simple but incredible. Each skewer was spot on. We also ordered the combination sashimi which was extremely fresh and beautifully presented. To finish, we shared a few rolls. The Cowboy, Code 3, and Flaming Dragon rolls were all excellent, with great textures and bold flavors without being overdone. From start to finish, everything was top tier. This is one of those places where you can tell they care about quality, execution, and consistency. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. I'll absolutely be back. read more
