Beef Cilantro Raw Special Roll
Monique M.

So came here during the weekend. My review may be a bit bias because the restaurant in modesto is my absolute favorite place to eat. So coming here for the first time I had compared the two establishments. Overall this place was good. Its in the middle of a shopping center so parking can vary based on the times that you go. The establishment is a decent size. Bar is small but has what's needed. The service was great. The young lady was able to provide recommendations and go over the menu. The food was good. The garlic edamame did not taste the same as the modesto location. Way more watery and a lot less creamy than modesto. I absolutely love the garlic edamame so this was a bit of a disappointment. Also tried the beef asparagus rolls which I thought was good. The sushi rolls were very delicious. Overall this place was good. Just wished they were as good as modesto.

I ordered 4/18/2025 and was promised my order within 15-20 which I received for pick up. They were punctual and kind with their service. There are two concerns that I found with RAW. 1. The restaurant is extremely dark, almost black I felt like I was eating in pitch black darkness. It wasn't dim lighting it was dark and most of the lights off. I don't know how they don't see this as a fall risk. This actually can create concern for elderly or those with eye impairments. 2. The sushi was presented well BUT it wasn't good because the raw sushi was hot(didn't seem food safe) and didn't taste fresh and had a mushy/spoiled/soft texture and the rolls were very small for about $22-$25 per roll. The area is okay between five below and other shopping stores, the service is nice, the lighting should be brighter and the sushi should be bigger and more fresh. All in all 3/5

I ordered take out at Raw on Friday for lunch. I ordered the fried California roll and garlic edamame. The roll was delicious, fresh and crunchy, which made it perfect! The garlic edamame serving was huge! It was easy to order online, unfortunately parking can be difficult in that area due to numerous stores and restaurants but that won't stop me from returning.

We aren't local came here from an Instagram post. I give this sushi spot 3/4 stars.. my roll was good it was a special roll on the menu. The service wasn't the best and took wayyyyy too long. We asked for our kids food to come out first so we ordered it with our drinks. The sever brought it with our meal after appetizers. The kids were starving. Ambiance very dark inside.

I'm so glad I gave this place a try. I work in the same shopping center and my coworkers were talking about sushi here! Was waiting for my ride to go home and was hungry and decided to give it a try. The workers asked me if my food was to go and I told them. Yes I looked at the menu and decided to get the roadkill roll. So glad I got it. It's a huge plate and it taste delicious and is very colorful. The store itself is very dark and atmospheric and very gorgeous. I would definitely go on a date here they play a lot of bass music when I came in and it was really cool. Felt like I was at a very nice restaurant. Would definitely come back with family. Thank you for the fun experience raw!

Beef Carpaccio & Chirashi

The restaurant is nice for a date night and has a good interior. The servers are friendly and check up on how you're doing. I ordered the beef carpaccio and chirashi. The beef carpaccio was tasty and flavorful. The chirashi was extremely fresh and has a big portion size.

Sushi is still delicious. Service was good, our server was very helpful. I'm happy to report that the music has been toned down and it no longer feels like you're eating at a club. I will visit more frequently.

Came here with the family on a busy Friday evening. It can get busy very quickly so it's best to get in early. The restaurant is nice and modern. They play loud music in the evening so if you're not into that, this may not be the place for you. We ordered miso soup, cali roll, fried Philly roll, and rolls that I forgot the names of lol. They weren't bad at all and our server was nice.

Came in literally 10 minutes after they opened and gotta say perfect timing because after we got seated a lot more people started showing up . We were greeted and seated right away . Waitress was super friendly and got in our drink order right away along with our appetizer order. Gotta say my Long Island was delicious . Props to the bartender . We ordered the mixed tempura and Dante's inferno and sesame chicken . All was delicious . While we were there we noticed a customer pick up 3 party trays will definitely be ordering for daughters upcoming birthday party .

We were again looking for great food and dining experience leaving Sacramento Kings vs Warriors games and was kicking ourselves of not eating in Sac. with many, many choices! Ending up back here at Raw Stockton and remembered the Chef Dante experience! There were many different raw sashimi, sushi rolls, and other dishes on the menu to choose. I ordered the Dante appetizer and sushi roll and everything was very tasty and fresh. I am always pleased with the quality and quantity of the food here, begin so fresh and quality not compromised and neither is the service. Kianan was our primary server this evening and we had experience her services once before and was very pleased. She was very welcoming, quick with service and attentive, and guided us through our sushi experience with many recommendation and detail about each dish. The asparagus appetizer is to die for, since we were not able to make it to the Asparagus Festival. Presentation is always unique and tasted as good as it looked. Place is small and cozy with cramped table seating, next time we will chose to sit at the bar which is bit roomy. Parking is no problem because the restaurant is found in a strip mall. I would recommend reservation because this place is very busy and vibrant during the evenings and weekends! We really enjoyed our dinner and will visit again whenever we are in the area!

Chicken Teriyaki

Hadn't been here in years. Probably 15 years. Back then, the place was excellent. I was in the area so I stopped in with a friend. The interior changed a little and the only thing I wasn't wild about was the fact there were a few more tables than there should have been. They definitely want to be able to see as many people as possible. The problem with that is the tables were too close together and wasn't as private as you would hope. The waitress was friendly and helpful and we ordered deep-fried oysters for an appetizer and decided to go with their big platter which came with assorted rolls and salad. We got the platter because I wanted to get their best. It was the most expensive thing on the menu. I paid over a $100 for lunch that day for 2. The oysters were good, but they were almost too big for being deep-fried. What do I mean? Usually fried oysters are on the smaller side and work well as a one bite appetizer. These oysters were big. They're more like a 2 to 3 bite appetizer and because they were big they were a little too juicy for me. When I eat a deep fried oyster, I like to eat the entire thing in one bite and have the correct proportion of batter and crunch to contrast the moisture of the oyster. they were seasoned well and fried well, but it was too juicy and not enough crunchy. Onto the platter - it was a huge platter that probably could've fed 4 to 6 people. I'm a big guy and I love to eat and so does my friend, and we were very excited to dig in. It looked delicious but it just fell flat. The teriyaki chicken it came with were smaller diced up pieces that were cut too small so it made it difficult to eat with chopsticks. The flavor was OK, but it was a little weird coming with the platter. The sushi wad just average, which was disappointing. Because 15 years ago, I would've swore they were the best sushi spot in Stockton. Needless to say, we barely touched the plate, for some reason we weren't that hungry that day, but if the sushi was better, we probably would've ate more. all in all, it is a nice place, with nice ambience and service, but the food has definitely taken a step back. It was to the point where I have no need to return. I brought the leftovers home and my sons wouldn't eat it saying it didn't taste good. It's not that the food was bad, but it just wasn't up to par with the other sushi spots that I normally frequent. 3 stars because the place is nice and service was excellent.

A cozy, comforting bowl of ramen that delivers on flavor, texture, and satisfaction. I'd absolutely return for another round.

There is a parking lot at the back of the restaurant which is where this bar is located. It's a close-knit bar, but it does get a decent amount of people inside! The drinks are delicious. I highly recommend Jalapeño Business (mezcal or tequila, cucumber, jalapeño, agave, fresh squeezed lime). SO refreshing with a chamoy tajin rim. I also enjoyed The Nightcap (vodka, bailey's, cold brew, coffee liqueur). The bartender was very friendly and made the drinks quickly! You can also order food (since it's connected to a restaurant), and we ordered gyoza and shrimp tempura which came out piping hot and were both delicious. Definitely stop by if you're looking for a chill bar to get a drink, it is a small space so just be aware your conversations can easily be heard by others. Not a problem if you're friendly though!

Very disappointing experience when we came for a friend's birthday. Looking at the pics this place appears to be a very cute speakeasy and when you enter you find that to be true. They have a few cocktails that are pretty creative like my favorite, their clarified fruity pebbles cocktail. We all got cocktails and only about 1/2 of the drinks were really appreciated. Anyway, what held them back here was definitely the food. I'll start off by saying that yes we had a light dinner of sushi prior to making our way over. So keeping that in mind, we still had the idea of getting some small bites. We didn't want to over commit so we started with what I believe was the Grilled Peach Burrata. Now if we are going purely off flavors, it wasn't bad and it was a cute pairing of ingredients for what sounded like a great bite. On first bite we found this to be a horrendous dish. At first we thought, there's no way the bread was really THAT stale and hard. We thought there's no way that it could be every single piece that was that inedible. We were sorely mistaken. When I tell you that little crostini was hard and stale I'm telling you this thing was so terribly stale that we immediately thought of how disappointed we were in coming here and that we would NEVER consider coming back again. As for the service we remember it being a tad underwhelming as well but not terrible. The only thing that in my mind keeps me from rating them a 1, and I don't do that almost ever, is that my cocktail was just my style. I'm an old fashioned kind of guy but I also love the cute, creative and sweet cocktails as well. This fruity pebbles cocktail also came topped with sort of a Rice Krispie style fruity pebbles treat that I absolutely loved. After ordering a 2nd one however I found that they are not very consistent with their drink preparations as the 2nd one just wasn't as good. The ratio of whatever they put in there just seemed off. I'll finish off by saying that I so desperately wanted this place to be good. Was it an off night? Is this just their level of execution? Who is to say. Maybe one day I'll feel inclined to give them another chance but who knows. I have also heard that they did a lot of revamping so maybe things are looking up now.

The mint mojito she made me wasn't a drink... it was a religious experience.
