The Black Rabbit - Two signature drinks and a white menu on the bar counter. - Gastropubs Near Me - Stockton, California

Ordered a burger, 2 beers and 1 cocktail around 9:30 maybe, got the food and 2 beers at 9:48 and been waiting for the 1 cocktail since then. Asked multiple times and no drink yet. Two new folks sat at the bar a few mins ago and got food and drinks. 10:08 now... no lady in red. Server aware, bartender aware and owner also aware. Our server left 10:09pm with her purse and did not acknowledge us as walking out. Didn't mention anything about switching servers, if she was leaving on break or whatever it was. Second server checked on us more than our original server did. Shoutout to her fr! Finally got the drink at 10:12pm Torta melt burger - 10/10 flavorful af! highly recommend Fries - 7/10 lacking salt only Lady in red cocktail - 7/10 only bc it took 3 years to make (And we were not the only table who waited on cocktails too js) read more

Yet another draft I have never sent off. Some of the slowest service I've ever had was at this place. Wasn't busy at all. We just ordered a couple of things and it took FOREVER to get out to us. Not sure if they like turn off all of the cooking equipment or something because it shouldn't take THAT long to cook a couple of burgers. I've been here a couple of times, once with a small group of friends and once sitting outside with a larger group. Both times or was pretty slow even just getting drinks. The food was nothing to write home about either. read more

The food options are perfect for a bar. Not overly complicated but not bargain basement. The bartender was friendly and knew her way around a cocktail bar. The atmosphere is a step above a dive bar and a step below a fancy cocktail bar. It sits perfectly at that neighborhood bar level where you can get a good cocktail or beer and a bite to eat and talk with the locals. read more

What a pleasant surprise! We were driving up to Sac from Fresno, and it was getting late so dinner options were limited, The Black Rabbit to the rescue When you walk it, it looks like just a bar but don't let that deter you, they do serve food ---OG smash burger: a really good smash burger! ---OG chicken sando: also really good and the chicken was moist and crispy! Both burgers come with fries that were also good. PLUS, service was super friendly. Highly recommend! read more

After the last place, we visited in Stockton this was definitely a 180 and I could not believe this was here!!! This place is definitely small, but the vibe is fire! There are just a few tables maybe 5 to 6 inside and there is a bar top. At this point it looked like there was only one person to serve the whole entire restaurant and let me tell you she did a bomb job look the way she did sexy! The drinks are fired. The vibe is fire. Everyone there was having a great time! At this point since we already ate, we looked at the menu and we did get to see that they have some really good food. They did not have happy on Friday, which made me kind of sad, but the margaritas were still nine bucks apiece. Check on my photos because the drinks look beautiful and the ice is nice and shredded so you get an even amount of everything. Check out this place because I feel like this is the only place in Stockton that has high-end drinks that are photogenic. Check out their menu because their food looks delicious because they got some fries on there that is a Mexican twist. The margarita that we got was made with love and I really appreciate her because her attitude and her tramlines really made experience way better. As I'm sad I already ate. I did not have room to eat anything else, but really I should've came here first. read more

My fellow Yelp friend suggested The Black Rabbit as the perfect pre-game spot before heading over to the Stockton Ports baseball game at nearby Banner Island Ballpark. For me - what a find! This place has a vibe that's hard to describe... moody yet inviting, with stylish decor that I'm sure makes some want to stay longer than planned. Oh and street parking wasn't difficult to find, which made it even more convenient. We grabbed a table and right away our server was friendly and helpful, even validating our choice to order the Asada Fries. I'm not sure how much my friends enjoyed them because I was too busy devouring them myself... crispy house fries piled high with asada, nacho cheese, pico de gallo, pickled jalapenos, and crema. Basically like nachos, but on fries... and it worked so well. I'd come back for those alone, yes - seriously! To drink, I went with a mocktail that was refreshing and balanced, while my companions enjoyed other beverages. The Black Rabbit was the perfect start to our evening and I'd come back whether for another game-day hangout or just to indulge in those fries again. A gem in downtown Stockton! read more

Rounded up my 4.5 Food is excellent and drinks are good. Think their drinks can improve slightly as their old fashion doesn't really taste like it. BR is more citrusy where we are used to Smokey with citrus to cut the smoke. The mango margarita was recommended to us by a friend however they can use more mango. It was a little too sour for me. Elote fries suprised us as we had thought they were corn ribs but they were fries with corn and other toppings. Absolutely delicious! Food was excellent too. Their prices are also the most around. 4 drinks two meals and an app for less than $100 is greatly appreciated. Only wish the place was a little bigger because it's not their fault but they're quite popular and seat is limited. Kudos to the waitress finding us room so we can enjoy food and drinks. We will be back however I'll stick to their Purple Rain as that's a 10/10! read more

This has gotta be the friendliest bar in Stockton. The aesthetic is sophisticated and masculine and the service is five stars. Every cocktail is delicious and handcrafted and it's the kind of place where you are only a stranger once. read more

Think Bar. Think loud music. Think Dark. We came for food. Downtown Stockton on Sunday night is Closed for business. All that said, our service was very good. The menu sparse. We opted for a classic burger and an Avo and Beyond. We enjoyed them. The classic had too many omion slices - easy fix. Both buns were to soft to set down without them being difficult if not impossible to get back to them and try to pick them up. I hope you have a positive experience. read more

My husband and I started our date night at The Black Rabbit. Though it was our first time visiting they quickly made us feel like regulars. We loved the dark vibes of The Black Rabbit and unique concoctions. Moments later, we ventured over to a more bright and sophisticated The Rose & Tail Club. The mixologist there prepared a delicious cocktail for us both that she was trialing. It. Was. Delicious. We are already planning our next visit. read more

Bartender was cool. Dim lights and loud music. Small space. Don't mind that. The food however? Terrible. Ordered a few things with a group of friends. My chicken sandwich was inedible. Breading was burnt and holy ish, it was SALTY. My friend got carne asada tacos and we got the carne asada fries...ya. It was ground beef. My other friend got a smash burger. That was fine. Not great. Cheese wasn't melted on the smash burger. Don't be fooled by the menu online. It's a bar with below mid food. Maybe if you're absolutely drunk and there's nothing else open it's probably OK. But at that point you can't taste anything anyway. read more

The food and drinks were great ! The portions were perfect. I ordered a little bit of everything, split it with my sis and it was more than enough . The prices were shocking , in a good way , don't remember the last time I spent only $12/14 on a drink. Where I live it's $17 and up ..I thought the service was good too for the most part . Had to get up a few times and ask for stuff , which they weren't that busy yet , just maybe understaffed (no biggie). I am looking forward to coming again when I visit . There was only one thing that really threw me off a bit. When I came home I saw two separate charges on my credit card. When I ordered , I kept the tab open. They charge you for the first initial amount right away(keep the card ) when You close the tab, they charge you for the full amount but you will see two charges when it's pending on your card , but it drops off . It made me a bit anxious but it dropped off on my statement today. So if you leave your tab open. Be aware that you might have the same thing happen to you, but just be patient and additional charge should drop off on your bank statement. read more

Amazing ambience with a soft grunge and earthy feel. The service is incredible and the drinks even more so. Alejandro, the lead bartender, makes a balanced and smooth drink and excels at customer service. While a comfortable and chill experience close to Opening it does ramp up the later it gets so You're free to choose your own adventure based on the time you get here. Not to mention all the regulars love to rant and rave about the food pairings. I encourage all to try and give my experience a solid 10/10 with no foreseeable room for improvement. read more

Small place!! Smaller than I expected. Very intimate setting with a few small tables and a couple of booths around the bar. There is outdoor seating. Variety of good menu options and the asada fries were awesome. Chicken tacos were yummy too (get the seasoned chicken-- not grilled, as the former has more flavor, so Ive heard). My friend got the burger that came with fries-- overall ok until she found a strand of hair... Our server was nice but it was her first day on the job so she really didn't know anything about the menu and drinks and had to "check and come back" with the answers 2-3 times :/ We didn't mind too much but just something we noticed. I may come back if I'm feeling up for this vibe and food but I don't anticipate being a frequent flyer. The Winter Solstice was perfect. My friend got a mango mocktail which she liked. read more

It was our first time and my wife and I were satisfied with food and customer service I recommend the black rabbit 100%

We came here for the Restaurant Week special and while the food was great, I feel like $30 is a bit pricey for a chicken sandwich, fries and a dessert that came out frozen. The fries came out first as an appetizer so they were cold by the time my sandwich came. The portion of fries was huge and the sandwich was tasty but the dessert was frozen and seemed store bought. Cocktails were great and the service was excellent. I loved the mood, decor and ambiance of this place but it's very tiny with limited seating. Maybe there is more seating in the back? It also got really loud really quickly. Anyway, we will have to try this place for Happy Hour or something next time. Thank you for the great service, food and drinks! read more

I ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer and the Berry Drop cocktail here. I thought the menu was more varied since it was on lists for places to eat in Stockton but the menu is quite small and mostly burgers. So I only had the Brussel sprouts and a drink before leaving to a different restaurant. The Brussel sprouts were a bit burned but good nonetheless. What was weird was that they gave us disposable utensils because they didn't have any clean metal utensils... we were only two people, that not a lot of utensils to wash? Maybe I don't understand how utensils are washed commercially. Anyway...The cocktail was great especially with the sugar rim! I would come back for cocktails! read more

I am from Stockton, but I had never stopped here before and wanted to grab a drink after dinner before heading home. We walked in a bit early, so no one else was there besides us. The vibes felt like walking into a secret room in a Harry Potter movie. The best way I could describe it is dark but welcoming in its own way. I got the Caramelized Pineapple Margarita which is pictured on the left. My friend got a cute design on hers! (I forgot what exactly she ordered). Alejandro was our bartender and gave us great service. With time, more people began to trickle in. Overall great drink really refreshing but has a small kick to it. Would recommend.
