This place has really gone down hill!! The service was absolutely awful. Our waitress was a petite girl with dark hair and a tattoo of some kind on her wrist. We didn't catch her name. We sent my niece ahead of everyone because we had a birthday at the table with a cake and candles and to let them know that we brought it and would like it for our dessert. They mentioned that there would be a cake cutting fee and my niece says says that it's fine. We can cut it ourselves. During the entire dinner, our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to ask her for refills. She was absolutely not attentive, but the part that was the most egregious was when she brought out a birthday ice cream and we sang, I let her know that we had brought our own cake for this so she goes to get it and just plops down a brown paper bag that we brought everything in right there on the edge of the table. I couldn't even believe it! I told her we had candles in there, and I was hoping that we could use the cake we brought with the candles to sing my dad Happy birthday. She goes back and comes back with the candles unlit and struggles to light them in front of everyone. We've been here many times and it was fantastic again. We had a large party and everyone talked about how good the food was. I ordered the scallops and they were large and sweet. We all ordered the garlic fried rice with extra garlic butter. So delicious! The only negative was every order is too much food. Leftovers for all of us. The chef cooking in front of us is always entertaining and special. Waitress was helpful with beverages, salad, soup and cocktails. The chef was very talented and had my 10 year old try to help catch an egg. She did not do well but had fun. We now have a nice video of her first attempt at being a hibachi chef. We went at lunch and were one of 2 tables, so it was quiet. There was only one hibachi chef working at the time so we did have to wait for him to finish up with the first table. When he did come over, he discovered that the waiter did not start the griddle so we had to wait for it to heat up. The food was very good. The steak was super tender and seasoned well. I also like that they use broccoli in their veggie mix. The fried rice was really good. My daughter got steamed rice and when she asked him if she could have butter, the chef melted it on the griddle and tossed her rice in it to give it an even coating. That was nice because other places have just but the butter on the rice bowl for her to mix in. I think the price was reasonable for steak dinner and a show. It is definitely pricier than going to Applebees but the quality was much better. They do need to update their website as it showed they had chicken katsu, and my daughter likes that for a bento box, but they don't do bento boxes anymore. read more

Really love this place. It's nice to have a hibachi style restaurant in Lodi! It also seems to be really popular and busy but they always provide great service and it tastes amazing! I now know why they are never busy and the one in Stockton is... It was just two of us... there wasn't a group we could join, so we were sat at a hibachi table alone. The waitress maybe took about 7 mins to get to us after we were seated. We were also ordering sushi and were told the hibachi guy was helping the sushi guy but that we were going to have to wait around 30 mins and the hibachi guy was going to be late. We split an entree and paid $5 for an extra soup and salad (don't do that... it's not worth it. It's a cup of salad and a cup of mushroom broth). My sister ordered the margarita flight blended and not only was it not blended but we watched it up at the bar for like 7 mins while it started melting. Please keep in mind... there wasn't only two active hibachi tables and one was done cooking and just hanging out. There were maybe 4 tables in the sushi bar. Then the hibachi guy took about 15 mins to get to us after we ordered and then didn't do the show at all... if this was the case then we would have just sat at the sushi bar and had the back kitchen cook it. Whenever anyone asked us how it was, we just said "it's alright". By the time we were done eating the sushi still wasn't there and the waitress asked if we "still wanted it". I was so disappointed with the hibachi that I wanted the sushi to eat there and my sister just wanted hers to go. When it came out they both were for here and she just brought them to the table. We used to go here regularly for birthdays. We were there this last Saturday for my daughter's birthday. We were a group of 11 (with 2 of those being toddlers) and spent almost 500$. This was by far our worst experience and may be our last visit. Our reservation was for 4:30 (shortly after opening time). When we arrived, there was one other large group who appeared to have been there about 20-30 minutes. We ordered drinks and it took longer than usual to get soda but no big deal. We ordered appetizers and one side of our table got theirs while the other did not ever. Our food was prepared and after most of us were half done the sushi my son in law ordered was brought out. 4 people in our group were still eating when one waiter brought out the small cake we brought in to sing happy birthday. We had been told they wouldn't cut it which was fine we didn't expect that. What we did expect was too be allowed to finish our meal. My daughter had a fork and was feeding bites of cake to 2 of our grandchildren. The waitress came to her and told her they needed the table and we couldn't eat the cake there. The waitress was very rude. Our reservation was for 4:30 it was 5:37. We had 4 people still eating including my son in law with his sushi and apparently we needed to be done??? The show was not up to par and rushed. Everything about the evening was rushed except the food as I mentioned because some of it never even came. When the waitress brought the tab the tip was included which normally I'm fine with but considering how bad the service was at this point I think they need to rethink their policy. We spent almost 500$ didn't receive everything we ordered and were basically pushed out as soon as we hit the 1 hour mark....the part that made me the most angry is the table next to us that was seated at least 20 minutes prior to us was not being harassed. Not sure what has happened to customer service but I can honestly say this place is lacking and I will either drive to Elk Grove or Stockton before coming back to this location after patronizing it for many years. read more

If you prefer sushi they have a separate area for that. We went with whole family party of eight. They have an expanded menu since we were last there. Saturday night and a 30+ minute wait. Host was a curate in his estimation for the time we would be seated. Placed at a grill table in the very back and service might've seemed slow except they were all doing an incredibly diligent job. The staff were attentive and calm, regardless of the masses around them. My children got a little antsy during the wait, yet the server who was busy and the chef who might've been tired by our late hour arrival acted as if we were the most important people in the room. The chef had out tired, hungry, even hangry children in stitches over tossed broccoli florets and dissaprearing egg shells. Their only complaint was that they wanted more fire. Terrible service we called in 3 orders and when we got there they tried to give us a 57$ plate like we jus ordered everything on one plate? Then they proceed to remake the order and still only make one plate? I'm posting a picture of the chicken and shrimp with double rice smh chicken was so rubbery textured I couldn't even eat it and the shrimp was the same! Like they over cooked it and it sat there all day and then they warmed it up or sumthing I couldn't even chew it! Disgusting! ! ! ! I wasn't impressed about this place, the food itself it's so so expensive and no flavor, chicken not done gummy I hope I don't get salmonella, lobster & shrimp over cooked, fried rice is salty, soup and salad is nasty.
