I was in Lodi on business!!!! When I got Hungry for Lunch!! I checked my Yelp Application and Wongs Popped up . So I rolled there!!!! Wongs Mandarin Restaurant is a Older Hole in the Wall Mom and Pop place. They do very Basic Chinese food and plates !!! I rolled in there like a Boss perused the Menu and ordered the Combination Chow Mien plate to go!!!! Due to Covid Protocols in place Mings does to go orders!!! They cooked my Order Fresh as I waited!!! 15 Minutes Later I had my food Piping Hot out of the Wok !!!! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw my Chow Mien !!! It was a generous size portions of Noodles and Meat and Shrimp!!! It was also packed full of Flavor and Tasty!!! If I was in the Hood , I certainly would return!!!! Asian Family Owned and Operated !!! Wong's Mandarin Restaurant is a Baller On a Budget Approved Establishment!!!!

I chose white steamed rice, chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, with an egg roll. The food is actually flavorful, I would definitely come back! :) The cashier is super nice as well

I order the lunch special with fried shrimp. Portions were generous and flavor was very good!! Was happy they offered a vegetarian option on fried rice and chow mein for special! Restaurant clean and lady who took order was helpful ! I'm not sure what took me so long to try this place, but will be going back! My only critique was egg roll was a bit over cooked and no fortune cookie. But cookie wasn't described in order so maybe it wasn't included for $6.95. Much better than Panda Express if you want a meal for one person.

I have never tried this place before and decided with the pandemic going on to give a "mom and pop" shop a chance tonight for dinner. I'm so glad I did! First off, the woman who took my order was SO KIND. I couldn't help but smile when she was talking to me over the phone. They delivered to me even though I'm on the outskirts of town and the portions are HUGE! Ordered Kung Pao chicken, sweet and sour Pork, fried rice, egg foo yung, steamed rice, egg rolls, pork chow mein and 4 sodas all for $46!!! My family of 5 was stuffed and there's soooo much leftovers. If you haven't tried this place, now is the time! Will be a lifelong customer.

This is not the traditional Chinese dishes. It's what we call the American style Chinese food.

December 13, 2025 - Approx. 6:25 PM…read more On the way back to Stockton from Jackson, was in the mood for Chinese food and Google Maps suggested this restaurant. SUMMARY: Good deal for take/out food in this era of high inflation. PROS: Was impressed with how fresh the vegetables were in my Beef w/Broccoli order. Plus a nice balance of flavors. Also, was surprised with the Yen Ching Fried Rice, as it was both filling & flavorful. Finally, the served portions equaled, if not exceeded, the charged prices. CONS: While I was waiting in the dining room for my orders, I was freezing. I don't think they even bothered to turn the heater on, or maybe it just wasn't working. But you can imagine that if you ate in the restaurant, your meal would go cold in a matter of minutes. It's a total shame, since the interior decor is rather nice. Also, while I enjoyed the aforementioned Yen Ching Fried Rice, I felt that the Yen Ching Chow Mein was not on the same level. While the flavors and ingredients were basically the same, I felt that the noodles chosen by the chefs were not top quality, especially taking into account that this is supposed to be one of their signature dishes. SUGGESTION TO MANAGEMENT: Sprinkle some fresh Sesame Seeds on the Dry Fried Chicken, and the dish will look visually appealing. And please turn on the heating in the restaurant during Winter. SUMMARY: If you want good Chinese food at reasonable prices, this place is definitely worth a try.

hate having to write this review because, as a small business owner myself, I try to be empathetic…read moreand supportive of other businesses. That said, this experience needs to be shared -- especially given the complete lack of concern for customer experience and food safety. I'm visiting the area for the weekend and decided to grab soup dumplings with a friend. It was our "cheat day," so we ordered about $60 worth of food, which wouldn't have been an issue if it had been edible. We ordered two lunch combo plates, pork bao buns, and pork and vegetable dumplings. Food review: I ordered the General Chicken lunch combo. It tasted nothing like expected and was mostly thick breading covered in an overly sweet sauce that was supposed to be spicy. The rice was honestly the highlight of my meal -- though rice is hard to mess up... or so I thought, considering how sick I am while writing this, and that was mostly what I ate. My friend ordered the orange chicken, which looked and tasted exactly like mine--again, mostly breading. Her chow mein was cold in the middle, which made it seem like it was microwaved. I'm not usually nitpicky, but this was already turning into a bad experience. The pork bao buns weren't as bad as the rest of the food, but once we got to the "dumplings," we stopped eating altogether and threw everything away. The dumplings we ordered came out as steamed potstickers. I wish I had taken a picture--they looked awful. We gave them the benefit of the doubt since this place is literally called Dumpling House. That was a mistake. I took one bite of the dumpling with the sauce provided (soy sauce with chili flakes), which masked the taste. On the next bite -- without sauce -- I immediately noticed a horrible flavor. I smelled the dumpling and it had a rotten odor. At that point, I was completely done. When I got up to wash my hands and walked toward the bathroom, I took a closer look around. I noticed tin serving dishes that staff appeared to be eating directly out of, and a "wrapping" station set up on a table with wrappers laid out and a container of wonton filling just sitting there at room temperature. I don't know how long it had been out, but my friend mentioned it was there when we first walked in and assumed it was fresh. We were seated for about 30 minutes, and the filling remained out the entire time. Pork should absolutely not be left out that long -- and clearly, based on what we experienced, it wasn't safe. I've now spent the last six hours sick in my hotel room. Not only do I feel awful, but I'm also missing out on activities I had planned for this mini trip. Dumpling House -- please do better. Please care about your customers' health and safety.

I don't usually get xlb to take away since it's very hard to maintain the hot soup in the dumpling but I tried and failed at the effort and don't at all blame the DH who warned me. Ah well had to try.

Turn the clock forward a decade and guess what, the food is still outstanding and the service is still attentive and kind. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive for us so we were good and hungry when we got into town. The owner greeted us warmly and a friendly server (her son), came by to help us. We decided to order: Hot & sour soup - heaven in a big bowl. Savory broth filled with delicious ingredients. It was well flavored, not too spicy or tangy Mu shu chicken - 4 pancakes with hoisin sauce. Our server wrapped our first ones for us. The dish contained the typical scrambled egg, sliced cabbage, protein, etc and it was fresh and tasty Beef with asparagus -noted in the entry that asparagus was in season so we had to order it. Meat was tender and the asparagus was cooked beautifully House chow mein - Fried perfectly and not doused in a bunch of sauce or oil. The protein on this dish was plentiful and it was simple and delicious. I loved how they didn't add chives/green onion to these dishes. The hot & sour soup had a few little green onions for color but this is the first time I've been to a Chinese restaurant that doesn't overfill the dishes with onions (as I don't like onions). Maybe that's the reason I enjoyed everything so much. Portions are very generous! We had lots of yummy leftovers. Our server told us that two of his brothers were the chefs. My kudos to them; they certainly know how to cook!
