Dragon Lite Deli is one of those rare places that feels like a constant. I've been coming here forever, and I love that nothing changes. In a time where everything is always being updated, replaced, or rebranded, this place stays exactly the same and that's the best part. The vibe. The food is familiar, comforting, and reliable. Even though the reviews were bad I still have them a try because I was really craving Chinese. They were quick and cheap when I got home I begin digging into the rice omg it was so good! I went in for another bite there was a long strand of black hair I literally began to feel nauseous. My man said babe that's probably your hair I literally pulled a strand off my hair and toned him feeel the difference my hair is coarse he said yeah that's definitely there hair we both threw away our food I should have taken a V picture but didn't think about leaving a review right away. Indeed a jewel of a restaurant tucked away in the south corner of the shopping mall. Definitely a business worth seeking out. The service is top notch and the food is delicious while being healthy. This restaurant serves a lot of freshly made food for a wonderful price. Your food is made to order. My order of garlic chicken is superb, while my chow mein and fried rice wad delicious and not a hint of being greasy. The people who work here are very nice and friendly. The food is super tasty and you can't beat the price of the combo plates. Cheaper than panda, and you get about twice as much food and it's authentic. I got the combo plate #2 with garlic fried chicken. Would definitely recommend this spot!! I've tried every Chinese restaurant in Lodi, CA. DLC in my opinion is the best. They do get busy so expect a slight delay for dine in and take out. I usually get the #4 to go. New spot for us to try out, which was a quick visit after our previous shopping elsewhere. But the owners here are really nice and patient did not feel rushed to place our order. It does say deli meaning that usually they have a small spread that demonstrates a Buffay style, but that was not being utilized the time That I visited. So it was place your order as you arrive but the food was done fairly quickly in about 15 minutes. And the prices seem fairly reasonable just so happen to stumble across this location. I give Dragon Lite Deli 3.5 stars. Overall the food is good, but different than most places that I've been to. I ordered three items for take-out: vegetable chow mein, orange chicken, and mushrooms, bamboo, and snow peas. Chow mein noodles are usually stir fried in a brown sauce, but these noodles appeared to be white, with no evidence of any sauce used. They were still good, but I opted to add soy sauce when eating them. As far as the veggies go, it had broccoli, some bits of carrot, a little celery, and lots of water chestnuts and onions. There were also green bell peppers. I'm not a fan of onions and peppers, and I didn't feel like they complimented this dish, so I picked them out. There really were a lot of onions. I like water chestnuts, but one here and there, not enough to make them the main theme. The orange chicken came with wedges of orange in the box, and a lot of orange sauce. The chicken pieces had a light crispy batter that was still crispy when I got home, and even upon serving up seconds. The sauce was good and orange-y, not muted like other places. But the chicken itself, although it was all white meat, was so dry that I almost felt like it was completely void of moisture, which made for a very strange texture. The veggie dish, "mushrooms, bamboo, and snow peas" is also a dish that is mostly water chestnuts. There's a good amount of mushrooms and snow peas as well, but very little bamboo. It's all served in a light brown sauce, which is a little bland, and could probably use some dressing up with garlic. I'm glad that there were no surprise onions or peppers though. Over all, the food was pretty good, just with something off on all the dishes. But I was curious about this spot since it is so close to my house, and within close proximity to a couple of other Chinese food spots. I also wanted to add something to the Yelp page, which seems largely neglected by patrons and management alike. read more

Hidden treasure!!! Dragon lite has been around for forever!! And they are absolutely the sweetest people!! You will never be disappointed! At least I never have! I eat there often and alllll their food is amazing!! I highly recommend garlic chicken, Mongolian beef and the honey walmut prawns!!! It's a mom and pop shop which has been around as long as it has because of how great their food is! Service has gone considerably downhill. Very rude, and dismissive. Was waiting to make an order for our family, and as we were mid order after gaining his attention, we were interrupted by a phone ring, and then ignored as the gentleman used the phone. We ended up walking out, hungry. read more

This place has the worst customer service! I called 3 times because they kept disconnecting my call. I asked if they did not want my business and should I order elsewhere. They did not apologize for their rudeness. I would not have ordered there had it not been recommended by family. After we took food back to the hotel, realize they gave us 2 of the same orders but charged us for what I ordered (the more expensive items). Another disappointment. As for the food quality, it was disgusting!! My husband was throwing up at night. The chicken tasted like rotten meat. I will not return to this place and I hope their hygiene gets inspected so no one else gets sick. read more

Had a couple hours to kill before dinner the other day but found myself hungry and not willing to wait a few more hours to eat, so I settled on going somewhere within walking distance to get an inexpensive bite to eat to tide myself over. Immediate choices were Subway, Little Ceasar's, Foster's Freeze and a Bento Box spot. Wasn't feeling Subway, didn't think I should eat an entire pizza (I would have), and surprisingly thought Foster's Freeze and Bento Box were a little expensive for a "before dinner" snack. Luckily, I remembered Dragon Lite Deli was a shopping center over, so I pulled up an online menu and discovered their dinner specials. Three-four items for $5-6? I was sold. I ended up doing a special which included almond chicken, fried prawns, and BBQ chow mein, which came to around $6.50. The guy behind the counter let me know it would be around 7 minutes, but it felt like it was less time than that. Maybe 4? Either way, the wait was short, and he was a friendly, personable guy. The meal came in a to go container, which is probably necessary for most people, as it's a lot of food. I devoured it all within a few minutes, however. The prawns were tasty and surprisingly light for being fried, with a tempura-like batter. I was also impressed at how large they were. Chow mein was pretty standard. I didn't LOVE the almond chicken, though. It wasn't bad, but maybe a little heavy on the nuts and light on the chicken, for my liking. I REALLY wanted the sweet and sour pork combo, but I thought two pork items and a fried side would be a little too indulgent. My mistake. Next time, I'm going all in. Everything said, I enjoyed my visit into Dragon Lite Deli, thought it was incredibly well priced, and was impressed by the speed and friendliness of service. Now that I know it's a quick walk away and I can be in and out with a full belly in just around ten minutes, I'll absolutely be back - and likely soon! read more

So glad we discovered Dragon Lite. 3 combo plates, all different items for the 3 of us to test out, and (of course) crab puffs. Ordered ahead, place was extremely sanitation clean inside, order was ready, and the lady behind the counter was so sweet. During the original phone call I mentioned we were new customers, so she included a take-out menu with our food. First bite, and I noticed... the fried crispy crab puff was fresh, fresh oil, perfect. All of our combo plates were great and again... everything tasted fresh and great. Chow mein had thick noodles, the lemon chicken was very lemon-y and light. Once inside the door you find a few small tables, a cafeteria-style counter, and an old fashioned back lighted menu board. I ordered House Fried Rice and Kung Pao Chicken. I thought the price was not seriously over priced for take out. I read a review of Kung Pao Chicken dated January 2015. It was spot on. The quality has not improved in the last five years. After a few bites the Kung Pao Chicken went straight from my plate to the garbage. On the other hand the House Fried Rice was good but, not good enough to compensate for the Kung Pao Chicken. I just wanted to drop a 5 Star Review to Dragon Lite Deli. I would have to say that the food is clean tasting. It doesn't have that greasy taste like some Chinese restaurants have.
