Update...I visited a year later for dinner. Seems like they are understaffed. Tables were available but not cleaned/cleared from previous patrons. The food area was messy. The meat quality is not the same, lots of gristle. The staff is helpful and friendly but they seem overwhelmed. The restaurant was not full. They used to have ambient music in the background before; that's also gone. It's sad to see this restaurant decline. I hope they make changes. read more

Went in for dinner, right before 5pm. We beat the rush because after, I seen a line form. There were 2 cooks so it went by fast. The c server gathered our table and left us a side of rice, soup bowl and water for each of us and a shared sweet sauce chips. You start with your frozen meat cuts from chicken, pork, beef, and turkey. Then you add your noodles, sprouts and spinach. I personally go to the veggies after getting my meats then lastly add the noodles on top to keep my veggies from falling all over the place. Finally, you add your sauces. There are directions above them to guide you to which and how much sauce to add. If you don't put enough, the cooks will ask you what sauces you added so they can add a few more scoops. They will ask if you want garlic powder added. I always say yes. I enjoyed my bowl. It was very flavorful and loved every bite. I love that I get my veggies in for the day. It's all you can eat for dinner so you can get a new bowl to try a new variation. It does get messy in the area from people creating their bowls but they get to it when they become available to clean it up. Overall, great service, good and fresh food. read more

Let me start by stating we typically come to this location about once every month or 2 and normally it is very good. If items are low if you ask most people are friendly and get the items filled pretty quick. Sometimes they do get food rushes and they will be a little understaffed but most people who work there are helpful and have a great attitude. Unfortunately, this was one of the first times we ran into someone who was not very pleasant and pretty rude. We came in at about 7:30 on 5/2 at what looked to be the end of the dinner rush. No worries a few items were low and we asked a couple of the ladies to fill things and they did very quickly. Our troubles started and ended with the cook. Cant remember his name, but a younger caucasian male. While starting to cook my wife's order he started to play the drums on her food flinging her noodles and add ons before stopping. Then when placing her food in the to go container he spilled some on the counter and proceeded to grab what he spilled with his hand and throw it in the container. Mind you they are recovering from a dinner rush so not exactly the cleanest space with plenty of dishes and items there. Then when i handed the same cook my order he proceeded to stare at me for about 5 seconds before rudely asking garlic powder, to which i replied no thank you. After finishing the order he was confused if it was my order or the door dash order he was cooking. Once again one of the helpful ladies brought the containers over after the cook went to the back obviously annoyed and slapped the door open. She confirmed what was in it to ensure it was right. Both ladies were very helpful and pleasant like they always are when I visit. There was another cook who was assisting cleaning up the customer side and sweeping to help from the rush but unfortunately the cook we had was either having a bad day or needs some training on etiquette and customer service. read more

GK Mongolian is just average. The interior is comfortable and spacious. You order your bowl, and a server will come around for your appetizers and the bill. The selection of vegetables and meats is extensive, and it comes with free soup and potstickers, which are delicious. However, the downfall is the sauce. I always add a ton of sauce to my bowls, but the flavor is lacking. Because of this, I do not recommend. read more

Food was decent better then it usually is however the service was ridiculous. The server was all over the place and forgot about part of our order then brought us the sorriest excuse of soup dumplings I have ever had. They were inedible. I wouldn't normally care so much but the restaurant was completely dead and the service was so bad I was standing at the counter 10 minutes to pay my bill it took so long I contemplated walking out but my conscience wouldn't let me do it! read more

On 4/30/25 at 6 pm, we ate a very distasteful dinner at the GK Mongolian BBQ, Kettleman Lane location in Lodi, CA. It had a burnt taste through every single bite. It was so bad that for the first time, we were not able to finish our bowls. We informed the staff and upon leaving, noticed they scrapped excessive burnt scrapings off the grill. Shortly later, we went back, explained ourselves again, asked for and was given a refund. Also, at this time, we noticed their City of Lodi business license expired December 2022 and San Joaquin County Environmental Health Dept permit expired June 2024. read more

The food, with the exception of the egg roll, was wonderful. The selection was down, but that's because I walked into there at 8:30 PM. There was still enough left to make up a decent bowl. The Grillmaster is good at what he does. The meal was quite enjoyable, even with the horrible set of "chopsticks" they gave me, I felt like I was eating with knitting needles. What an insult. Fortunately, they had set my place with a fork, a potsticker, a bowl of rice, soy sauce, and a tureen of egg-drop soup. All tasty and appreciated. Now onto the egg roll; the only egg roll they have is the vegetarian one, so they take all of the vegetables and mulch them up into a coarse paste, stuff that paste into the wrap, and drop it into the fryer. When you bite down, the hot, hot paste comes flying out into your mouth with unpleasant effects. Whatever happened to egg rolls that had lettuce, cabbage, carrots, sprouts, and pork? Eggrolls (one word) are important, and so are chopsticks. There are Indian Tribes in the Southwest (I think in Northern New Mexico and Arizona) that make chopsticks by the millions. Bet you could buy them with your logo and let customers "steal" them to take home. Free P.R. Service was a little frenetic. Only 1 waitstaff to take care of 5 or 6 tables. I expect they operate on a limited buget and are saving up for a better location. That's the "Make or Break" stage of opening a restaurant. Get that eggroll in line and fix those chopsticks and you will get all 5 stars. The food was really good. read more

First things, I gotta say their service is absolutely amazing. I did a DoorDash order for here and DoorDash told me they were having a hard time finding my driver. I called the store, cancelled my order on DoorDash, and drove down to the restaurant myself to have them ring me up there and picked it up after my meeting. After he began to cook he yelled over at us saying I'm charging you for 4 bowls - he continued to yell at us then said he would let it pass this time only- as I offered to re do my bowl and condense to 1. after I finished eating he handed me the managers number and told me to call because he was charging for 4. i called the manager and he understood me and let the staff know to charge me correctly. the cook then walked to my table aggressively told me I got what I wanted and to not come back. he is a large man and was trying to intimate us. the other staff saw and customers herd. my kids and I went in last night for dinner. We have some dietary restrictions. They asked us a few questions about the starters and figured out what we avoid without us saying anything. We did the all you can eat so my boys were in line a few times. Every time it was our turn they took the time to completely clean the grill to avoid any food contamination. My husband and I ate here for the first time today and LOVED it. The girls that worked there, Sara and Dee were amazing! They greeted us immediately upon entering the restaurant and we're super friendly and funny. They gave us some tips on how to make our bowl a little more efficiently for next time we come. By the time we were done picking out our ingredients they had soup, rice, drinks, gyoza, and wonton chips on the table for us before we even sat down. We had our food cooked and ready within 5 minutes of walking into the restaurant. And it was SUPER good! We loved everything we had and Sarah was so attentive with re-filling our drinks and getting us anything we needed. I'm sad that we didn't come here sooner. We love this place. First off it's all you can eat and totally customizable. My favorite is pork bowl with veggies. With every bowl comes a side of rice potstickers and soup. If you can finish your first bowl you can get another one. And if you can't then they give you take home. I always end up getting one big bowl and taking the rest home for tomorrow's lunch. My husband totally his all you can eat worth of food. They do a great job keeping this place clean and the staff is so awesome and friendly. I was excited to try this place. It was a little confusing and no one gave any kind of instruction on the procedure with the tongs and stuff. I know it's all covid procedural stuff, but idk I wish I didn't feel dumb after I realized what to do with the tongs. The flavors were ok, I guess. I wanted my bowl to be spicy, I got jalapenos and chose their hottest sauce that says something about "be careful" on the sign. There wasn't remotely any spiciness to the dish, which was a bummer. The whole bowl was a bummer. I've been to many Mongolian places in my life and this place wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good. I'll probably try it one more time to make sure I'm not making a mistake because I love Mongolian bbq and want them to succeed. read more
