NOTE/WARNING: this restaurant charges approximately 4% as an "administration fee" or some such. I am not sure if this is some local tax response or applies when you use a credit card as opposed to cash. It added a couple dollars more to our $50 bill before tax. I don't recall seeing it disclosed on the menu and I didn't feel like questioning it at the time, but I do want to point it out to my readers. A mix of Thai and other objects adorn the walls of local favorite in a strip mall that also boasts a Japanese restaurant (Yume) next door. It is a pleasant space to walk into. Being server was friendly and helpful and able to assure that the red curry sauce did not rely on shrimp paste or fish sauce. Commercial red curry paste preparations generally have shrimp paste. This is important to my wife as she is a vegetarian. So she ordered the red curry with tofu and I ordered the grilled lamb chops with the accompanying plum sauce For an appetizer, we had the veggie summer rolls. They come with a dipping sauce, but I asked and they were able to bring out a dipping sauce of fish sauce and Thai bird chilies. This is something I always ask for as my form of Brown M&M's test. My wife went to town on the red curry dish and my grilled lamb chops (three) were meaty and cooked to perfection We actually arrived at this restaurant by accident after watching the cranes, but it was a happy accident!

My friend and I arrived at 8:15 for dinner on Wednesday evening. I was really tired from my drive from the central coast, and needed a good not too "heavy" meal as I had yet to drive to Reno that night. We were met with a big smile and an encouragement to indicate our seating preference. Immediately drinks were ordered and a menu provided. The chef nailed my curry... I selected it as I thought it would not upset my stomach during the drive, yet give my palate the pleasure of a curry spice fix. WOW If you are a local and love Thai food, this place should top your list of options.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. Everything from the excellent service, the absolutely phenomenal food, and comfortable environment, makes thai spices of must visit in Lodi. I have taken my family here countless times and we have never been disappointed. Even if you dont like thai food, give thai spices a shot. You wont regret it.

Both my dishes were delightful. Portion is enough for 1 person but not enough for 2. I was still hungry after sharing this. I would definitely get the fried sea bass again! Wish it came with more sauce, but it was still tasty. Had a good amount of bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Pad se ew was also tasty. Came with a lot of tofu. Broccoli was cooked just right. For appetizers, I usually get fresh spring rolls with shrimp. These are better than most because they season their shrimp, it also comes with tofu, and they use spinach not lettuce. Their peanut sauce it not your typical kind. It's more liquidy vinegar with peanuts, very good! I also get their Thai fries which are sweet potato fries with a nice glaze of sauce. Their customer service is always good. I've never had a problem when dining here. They have a lot of tables. They're a bit pricey but I usually come here when I want Thai food.

We drive an hour and fifteen minutes from Murphy's for this thai food. It's worth every minute and mile of the drive to dine here. Restaurant is clean, staff and owner make you always feel like family, and food comes out FRESH and FAST. We have tried various dishes over the years and our staple reorders are: Pad Thai Drunken noodles Fresh spring rolls - ALWAYS Thai fries Crab rangoons Pineapple fried rice Any of the curry's I grew up going to Thai food regularly because my dad was stationed in Thailand so he was very skeptical whether a Thai place tasted authentic or was too sugary and Americanized. Thai spices does NOT disappoint. Can't wait for our next visit.

3 stars mainly for service and ambiance: We were quick to get seated, ordered our food and had our drinks brought out to us fairly quick. Food on the other hand was very bland. Pineapple fried rice was the best entree we ordered

A decent thai spot in lodi. Went on a weekday in the late afternoon. I ordered the sampler and it was great. I loved the fact they gave me 2 different sauces to try it with. The thai tea was good, anot overly sweet. The pad thai was just ok. I usually like mine where the noodles has a bit of a char to it rather than more saucy/soggy. I asked for some ground chili pepper and that really helped to elevate the heat. Service was good and I will def be back again.

Decided to try another Thai spot in the area, and I was not as satisfied as I wished. I got the classic and "basic" choice haha, chicken pad Thai because it's good all the time. It was 7/10. It had all the right bits but the chicken was pretty dry tbh. Albeit, I ordered the last 1 hour of it being open but that shouldn't compromise flavor? Nevertheless, it had good ambience seating, and had friendly staff. I'd probably have a sit down next time during more popular hours to get better cooked protein perhaps.

This place is my new Thai spot in Lodi. The food is delicious and the ambience and service are also wonderful. I almost didn't believe the online pricing as it seems so reasonable and it's difficult to find places with menu items under $15, however my Pad Thai and Tom Kai spot were both 12.95!! And the portions were generous. Only negative is there is a very small fee to use a credit card, but this is not a dealbreaker at all considering. I will definitely be back!

Worth the drive from Sacramento. Great food and service. Family like atmosphere. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had.

That said, this experience needs to be shared -- especially given the complete lack of concern for customer experience and food safety. I'm visiting the area for the weekend and decided to grab soup dumplings with a friend. It was our "cheat day," so we ordered about $60 worth of food, which wouldn't have been an issue if it had been edible. We ordered two lunch combo plates, pork bao buns, and pork and vegetable dumplings. Food review: I ordered the General Chicken lunch combo. It tasted nothing like expected and was mostly thick breading covered in an overly sweet sauce that was supposed to be spicy. The rice was honestly the highlight of my meal -- though rice is hard to mess up... or so I thought, considering how sick I am while writing this, and that was mostly what I ate. My friend ordered the orange chicken, which looked and tasted exactly like mine--again, mostly breading. Her chow mein was cold in the middle, which made it seem like it was microwaved. I'm not usually nitpicky, but this was already turning into a bad experience. The pork bao buns weren't as bad as the rest of the food, but once we got to the "dumplings," we stopped eating altogether and threw everything away. The dumplings we ordered came out as steamed potstickers. I wish I had taken a picture--they looked awful. We gave them the benefit of the doubt since this place is literally called Dumpling House. That was a mistake. I took one bite of the dumpling with the sauce provided (soy sauce with chili flakes), which masked the taste. On the next bite -- without sauce -- I immediately noticed a horrible flavor. I smelled the dumpling and it had a rotten odor. At that point, I was completely done. When I got up to wash my hands and walked toward the bathroom, I took a closer look around. I noticed tin serving dishes that staff appeared to be eating directly out of, and a "wrapping" station set up on a table with wrappers laid out and a container of wonton filling just sitting there at room temperature. I don't know how long it had been out, but my friend mentioned it was there when we first walked in and assumed it was fresh. We were seated for about 30 minutes, and the filling remained out the entire time. Pork should absolutely not be left out that long -- and clearly, based on what we experienced, it wasn't safe. I've now spent the last six hours sick in my hotel room. Not only do I feel awful, but I'm also missing out on activities I had planned for this mini trip. Dumpling House -- please do better. Please care about your customers' health and safety.

I don't usually get xlb to take away since it's very hard to maintain the hot soup in the dumpling but I tried and failed at the effort and don't at all blame the DH who warned me. Ah well had to try.

When we arrived, our tables were set up and we sat down. The restaurant looked clean and there were a few patrons eating and some picking up food to go. Let me start off with saying that the food was really good. It was fresh and seasoned just right. We ordered the beef skewers, pineapple fried rice, basil fried rice, a couple of different curries, and sweet and sour fish. In regard to the service, it looked like there were only 2 employees working that day, the cook and an employee who was the cashier/server/table busser. This employee was friendly and did the best she could, but it was a lot for her to perform all of these roles. Our food was brought out in waves, a few dishes at a time. She hardly came over to check on us or refill our waters unless I asked. We ordered more food and it was a while before more food came out. When we were finished, the cook came out and introduced himself. He told us he was the only cook. This probably explained why our food didn't come out all together and why it took so long. I suppose that on a typical Saturday afternoon, one cook would have been enough. I would like to think that if I made the reservation sooner, they could have planned for enough help. Overall, our group experience was not the greatest. The food was certainly good. The service could use a lot of improvement. I'm sure if you don't go with a group, you'd be fine.

Service otherwise was very friendly and quick The food was fantastic! As a Japanese American who's been eating sushi since I was in the womb, I have to disagree with the yelper who recently said the rolls are too small and too expensive. The rolls we ordered were huge and the fish was very fresh and on par with M sushi and Komachi. Is it a luxurious loungy city style vibe? No. But the food is great and the prices are fair imo for the extremely fresh and delicious fish. We ordered two bowls of miso, salmon tataki roll (I only wished for more onions!), the spicy crunchy scallop roll (my new favorite roll in Lodi), snow crab CA roll, and I think the last one was a dragon roll with unagi.
