The first thing you notice when entering the restaurant is an outgoing, energetic Lady who greets everyone who comes thru the door. Once seated the staff attended to our needs immediately. The menu was extensive offering numerous selections from various cultures. We were seated near the owner, Bunhom Khotakoon. As good as the food was Bunhom was the highlight of the evening. Watching her run this fine establishment was a joy to see, her attention to every detail was apparent and comes from decades of running such a fine restaurant. We had a second occasion to go out to dinner, and all agreed we wanted to return to Thai. This time we asked Bunhom to surprise us. This was the right decision. The food she had the kitchen staff prepare was amazing. I can't say what we enjoyed more, every dish checked all the boxes when it came to satisfying our taste buds. The Thai tea was an added surprise; the taste was not only delicious but exotic to boot. Being from Louisiana we know good food and appreciate spicey cuisine, Thai Spices Restaurant exceeded our expectations. I know where I'll be dining when I return to Lodi. Has a nice upper casual atmosphere, the people are always so welcoming. The owner greets us with a smile every time! The FOOD! I recommend this place to literally everyone I know. Thai food is one of my favorites and Thai Spices is a testament to that! I love that they have all sorts of protein options. Of course plenty of chicken, beef, pork and tofu but also seafood like fish, shrimp, scallop and also duck and lamb! Tonight we started off splitting a large Singha, which will fill up 2 very chilled beer mugs. We then got the Pad See Ew with Beef. The beef was cut so thin and was so tender. The dish was savory and we even used a bit of white rice to soak the rest of the sauce up! We also got an order of the Red Curry Duck, again the meat is sliced thin and is super tender. Cooked in the red curry with bell pepper and bamboo shoot. Then an order of large white rice. The spices on the side are so tasty too and so fun to experiment! This is an excellent date spot, a friends night out, and I've seen large groups and families here too. We will be back!

We were in town for wine tasting and hadn't had Thai food in a while, so we decided to stop by. What can I say...? Same great iced Thai coffee, deliciously fresh spring rolls, and the green curry couldn't have been better. We didn't see too many veggie dishes on the menu, yet at my wife's request, the kitchen made her fresh green beans in a garlic sauce. Thats right - fresh crisp green beans with plenty of "crunch" in a velvety garlic sauce. The prices are very reasonable considering today's crazy economy and we took food home! This is a family run business and the care and attention to customers is worth giving Thai Kitchen your support. We understand that they will be moving soon (just two storefronts away from the current location) and will have more room for more clientele. Judy and Sonny are very welcoming and personable. If they had a different vegetarian dumpling flavor to choose from for a little variety, that would be awesome, but for now I'm well pleased with what they do have. We have thus far only ordered take out, and have not dined in. I've tried and liked the vegetarian versions of the egg roll, potsticker, dumpling, and steamed bao so far. The bao veggie filling is different than the dumpling filling, and it's very delicious. They have standard Chinese dishes in addition, but I have not ventured far into the rest of the menu. Unfortunately I cannot as of yet share whether any of this, or the dipping sauces are vegan friendly. Hopefully on a future visit I can find out and report. The dishes I have so far mentioned are vegetarian friendly. Not sure on the dipping sauces. Possibly? The price is pretty decent for what you get. One order of bao or dumplings is plenty for two people. They are about $13 each. I like how the takeout containers come in a reusable canvas bag. Ordering over the phone has been smooth each time. So, we keep coming back when the hankering hits, braving what can be a busy parking lot.

They make their sausages in-house, and while they were good, I think they could be a bit larger considering the price, along with a touch more salt for a more savory flavor. Unfortunately, some items were out of stock, but that was completely fine. The decor is beautiful, and I love the lighting! The best roll was the warrior's roll, and I'm not very big on the texture of unagi but it was really good. My step little loved her chicken teriyaki which I also tried and agreed. The chicken thighs were moist and delicious but could have done without being completely drowned in thickk teriyaki. The miso soup was fine but had wonton strips in it which I'd never seen before. And lastly, the stuffed mushrooms were delicious, but they are the size of a quarter and cost $11.95 for 4 teeny tiny mushrooms. It spilled all over the table while I tried to pour it into two glasses because we were sharing. The check took a solid 20+ minutes after we ate and at that point I started getting irritated. Our server walked past us at least 10 times and I'm pretty sure he forgot but we couldn't get his attention. When he brought it over, he cleared our plates to box up all of the sushi we'd barely touched and he accidentally spilled soda on one of our rolls. Honestly, I wasn't even mad at the kid, it's not his fault he wasn't trained.
