This on was consistent as well. parking - nice lot outside, no issues there location, near center of tempe. pricing - around $10 for my 1 dish, about the right pricing. dish: green curry with chicken at "hot" level. **thai spicy at the other location was really spicy, so I tried the "hot" this time. Definitely was not spicy enough. Some inconsistency between "spiciness" i believe. I added some additional chili flakes after the dish came out. I still like the flavor that they have. good and medium thickness of the curry sauce. Not the watery kind. Good amount of food. You'll be full if you finish the entire dish. Comes with a bowl of rice. environment: plenty of seating in side. service - fast and short wait time. friendly. Pricey but good. Good but a little pricey. Three of us were with tip, three dinners, one ice tea was 50$. Again it's good and the service is always good. We give four stars for the clean restaurant and that they bring good fresh Thai food to Phoenix. I think the price should be for organic products but I am pretty sure the product is not. Not sure what the portion ounce of meat is but it's got to be 3 ounces max. Anyhow we will continue to visit this place when convenient but probably won't make an effort to eat here. read more

Chicken satay Wich was great and the pan bang curry. Best ever . I like spicy and only did a 3 out of 5 on spice level. I would recommend a 4 if you like a little kick. This is one of my favorites Thai food local places in Tempe. I always get the green curry and it is great. I have also tried the pad Thai and it never disappoints me. The price for the food given is super fair. I would say that it is a lot of food, which is great. And if you are thinking about a dessert I would suggest the fried bananas. I always do take out, and the people that work there are very nice. They still require masks until today. This is definitely a place worth going if you like Thai food. read more

The menu was pretty typical for a Thai place and since I'd not been before, I opted for my usual 'litmus' for measuring good Thai. Pad Thai Chicken, 4 stars spicy. ...it was good. Not great, but good. Didn't seem very spicy for 4 stars but next time I'd just tell them to add extra. The portions here are really large, but it seemed like my chicken pad Thai had quite a bit of tofu added as a protein filler. I'd rather have seen a smaller portion as opposed to added tofu for bulk. The taste, texture and presentation was good. It's a decent restaurant and accessible by foot from the hotels and bars nearby. read more

I love this chain and I'm a regular at the chandler location. This particular branch however disappointed me on many levels. I ordered a panang curry with just tofu - Thai hot. The curry as you see in the image attached didn't come with peanuts (usually garnished on top & mixed in the curry). It had no flavor of peanuts, was pretty runny and not as thick nor flavorful as the other branch serves and definitely tasted like mild and not Thai hot. I addressed my issue to the server regarding peanuts to which they said they can get me peanuts on the side and if there was no peanut garnishing on top it probably isn't panang curry -disappointed as it didn't help in the flavor. I needed a box to go for the curry & rice. They provided just for the curry. I asked for the box for rice. They didn't even provide a carry bag along with it! The place wasn't really crowded while we were leaving so it's not that they were very busy to mess it up! No apologies whatsoever from them - never returning to this particular branch. First time at this Thai Basil. Been to three other locations. I arrived at 11:20 on a Wednesday morning and there were 10 full tables and 30 empty ones. After I was seated, I was immediately brought a cup of cabbage/onion soup. Even tho it was hot outside, the scallions and cilantro kept it light and refreshing. I ordered an iced tea, shrimp Pad Thai and crab puffs, which came to $19.30 plus tip. The six puffs came in three mins and I don't think there was crab in the puffs but since it wasn't on the lunch menu, I don't know it they were supposed to. They were light, crispy and full of cream cheese. The lunch came 5 mins later. The Pad Thai arrived with a small veggie egg roll plus a dipping sauce. The main dish also had marinated tofu, along with the five shrimp. The scallions and carrots were artfully cut and the sauce was classically made. The peanuts were weird, cuz they seemed 'moist' rather than chopped or crushed. Adding in the noodles, bean sprouts, scrambled egg and white onion, there was more than I could eat. While the location and parking situation may not be ideal for this place, it was not enough to discourage me from taking part in all the wonderful food that Thai Basil had to offer. From curry to tofu pad thai, your options are only limited by your imagination. I visited this location with a couple of friends and was enamored by the variety of flavors and pairings that were offered. The duck with red curry was absolutely phenomenal. So was the panang curry and pad thai. You can completely customize your order with a protein of your choice (tofu, chicken, beef) and a varied level of spice (medium is spicier than I thought it would be! be careful!) With every bite I could taste the crisp freshness of every ingredient and flavorful sauces to boot. The portions here are large so if you aren't supremely hungry upon entry, you are sure to go home with some left overs. The food came out quick and was amazingly flavorful. This used to be of my favorite restaurants in the valley! I used to live close to the location and visit frequently, however I moved to a different part of town a year ago so I am now 25/30 minutes away and rarely get to visit. I was in Tempe and close to the location for work yesterday so I excitedly stopped in to pick up food to take home and share with my family! Once I got home and removed the food from the to-go containers onto serving plates I saw that the vegetables were absolutely un-edible! There was black mold spots on all of the bell pepper and broccoli, and the basil leaves were brown/wilted and slimey!! This can make a person sick!! I attempted to pick out all the rotting vegetables and only eat the noodles and meat, however even the meat had a rotting taste and noodles all stuck together. The entire meal was un-edible and I believe the quality of food has obviously gone WAY DOWN. This place used to serve delicious and fresh food, with care and effort in preparing the food, but not anymore. Now whoever is preparing the food is serving rotting food to customers and that is NOT ok. read more

This is my Thai food restaurant of choice during this whole CoVid thing. They haven't disappointed me yet and I've been here several times. I always get the same thing, red curry tofu Thai hot with white rice. I don't recommend getting the Thai hot which is a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10 on spicyness unless you can really handle the heat. I can and I absolutely love it. The servers are always really nice and friendly. Great customer service and food. Authentic Thai food that's always on point when you're craving it. I just wish the dishes weren't so expensive but it is worth the price and you do end up leaving full. This is the Thai Basil to go to around here. The one on University let me down big time with some cold and really hard pieces of veggies in my food. The one in Phoenix is also really good. read more

Delicious. Stopped by two nights ago for some take out and it was delicious! Got the pineapple fried rice, an app sampler, and the Thai Basil with beef. Both dishes were excellent. They are well portioned, and tasty. The highlight for me was the chicken satay, so good. Others said they really enjoyed how unique the fried rice was and that they couldn't put it down. It's great to finally find a reliable soured for Asian dining. I can't wait to come back in again. So I've been to Thai Basil before I'm not sure if they're all the same company or not because this one was way better then the one on Central or the one inside the casino unfortunately I don't remember and name of the dish I had I try to look on their website they had no damn menu but the dish I had was kind of like drunken noodle but it had beef and some more vegetables it was flavorful ask for Thai hot but wasn't hot they don't give the little chilly carousel thing to get at most places but they shot me up some serrano chiles and vinegar so it worked that was a little disappointing at least they tried the service was pretty good server was fast getting the order and keeping them drinks refilled definitely come again read more

This place rocks! Been coming for awhile, but have been trying new menu items lately, discovering juts how good everything is! Today is Thai garlic beef. I got mine hot. Very tasty! Everything I've had so far has always been. Portions are a good size for the price. If I had to come with any negative, the only minor thing would be thier spiciness levels are a little off. We were in the mood for Thai, and this place was just a short walk from our hotel. We started with the chicken satay, which comes with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. All were very good. For entrees, wife had the Panang curry with chicken. I had their signature dish, the Thai basil with shrimp. Everything was delicious. The large portions did not skimp on any of the ingredients, including the protein. Wife could only eat half of hers and got the rest to go. I managed to eat all of the shrimp and most of the veggies. Don't give me Thai Not Hot. I'm cool though....I just had them give me the spices and I mixed them in myself. So it was My Hot. Nice atmosphere. Went during off hours, so I can't gauge how it looks with a crowd. Wouldn't drive across town for it, but good neighborhood spot. Pet peeve - I hate when I have to peel the tails off the shrimp (I had shrimp pad Thai). If I wanted my fingers dirty, I'd have gotten fried chicken or BBQ. Great flavors. Good price. I go to this place regularly. Their basil chicken is delicious and so is their curry.

My wife just picked up our meal and when she opened the white rice, there was a long black hair cooked into it. She called to let them know, primarily because it was such an obvious issue that whomever was cooking the food or packaging it should have seen it. If they aren't going to wear hairnets or pin their hair back when handling food, how do we know they have good hygiene practices at all (washing hands, wearing masks, wearing gloves, etc). The manager first declared that there were only men cooking the food, insinuating we somehow were lying. Then, she told my wife to take a breath and that they would get through this together. Neither of us wanted anything other than to put them on notice that they needed to be more careful- now they've lost a customer. read more
