Awesome selection and conveniently located near EVERYTHING. Good breakfast choices too but get there early as they usually stop serving egg dishes by 330 on days that they close at 6. Fresh options and lots of flavors. Haven't tried call ahead but walk-in and expect to find something you will enjoy. They do cake and yeast donuts very well no matter your taste. read more

We heard about this place from a Facebook friend who posted their child eating one of their Texas donuts online. While a kid is small, clearly you could tell how MASSIVE these donuts are. So we took the trek out to Manassas to visit. This place is pretty small on the inside but the staff is really nice and very cheery. We got a dozen regular donuts, four "Texas" donuts, and two speciality donuts. We also got five drinks. In total it cost about $30 which isn't bad considering how many donuts we got. The Texas donuts aren't just massive, they're also delicious. My brother and I both got chocolate sprinkled, my dad got chocolate glazed, and my mom got plain glaze. I will be honest in saying their plain glazed is on par or BETTER than Krispy Kreme, aka the holy grail of plain glazed donuts. The chocolates are great, no complaints. They also have a neat feature where you can can pick the filling so you can customize whatever you want. The only thing I even have to complain about is no refills on coffee. The price of the coffee is high enough that you could warrant at least ONE refill. Other than that, fun place and good food. read more

It turns out the paint-like smell in Texas Donuts was from a new restaurant going in next door and it's all gone now! I feel it's important to clarify that, particularly since TD has hit the nail on the head with both food AND service. You walk in and all you can smell is donuts and coffee! The staff works like a well-oiled machine, greeting people with a big smile cracking jokes with us too! Pumpkin donuts are the seasonal "Thing" right now and the family enjoys them. I'm not a big fan of pumpkin spiced things in general so I stick to Old Fashioned buttermilk donuts and the awesome glazed & filled. I love that raspberry! My wife likes their cronut and the chocolate peanut, the kids stick to sprinkles or this pumpkin donut. I'm just biding my time until pumpkin season passes and we can get a matcha donut. When I was in town we stopped by here based on other reviews. It's in a busy area so should be able to maintain local support. The donuts are priced by the case they are stored in. One side is a standard price and the other is a specialty price. They offer the option to fill donuts for an upcharge. We selected a dozen donuts mostly from the standard price with a few upgrades for filled. I think a late afternoon visit prevented the full stock or donuts but there was still a good variety. I didn't see a Texas donut? Nor did I see the kolache. I did see the cronuts and wondered what they tasted like but it is a speciality and not something anyone I was with wanted to try. The staff were helpful and friendly. I found the donuts to good but nothing extraordinary. I have a place near me that truly can't be beat so maybe I have high expectations. I think the odd thing for me was the price for a few donuts? I get that filling a donut can be nice if it was a unique donut but simply putting cream or jelly into a regular donut doesn't warrant an upcharge in my book. Especially when I can go to another place that already has them filled for cheaper. Sorry, but I need to be honest. Now, for the area I am recommending this establishment because I think it's better than the alternative chain which doesn't have fresh baked donuts on premises. read more

This is hands-down the best donut shop in the area. They have a wide variety of donuts, not just deep fried cake donuts like duck donuts or they only carry two donuts at a time like Astro doughnuts. I had their signature Texas doughnut, which was good, maybe not sing Hossanahs great, but very tasty. The ambience is just okay. A long store front with one wall table and chairs does not convey much in the way of hospitality, more like "yeah... take your order and leave!" Staff was very courteous... I'm only talking about the layout which discourages hanging out. NO REFILLS sign prominent on the coffee urn seemed pretty cheap, considering what they charge for coffee. The whole store was broadcasting a Christian radio station that was making pointed commentary about the "morally bankrupt sexual revolution of the Sixties" and espousing the virtues of monogamy and stay at home moms being the bedrock of the family. Went to Texas Donuts for the first time last week. I was not disappointed! The donuts were delicious. They were light and fluffy with the perfect level of sweetness (not too much or too little). Probably the best I've ever had honestly. I also have to mention that I had great service! I was quickly greeted by Jenny and another kind lady when I came in. They were both smiling, friendly, and helpful. Taken together, I have to give a five star yelp rating, which I rarely do for food establishments. Came in and ordered 2 dozen donuts and made a special order for the following day. Spoke to three people about it And confirmed a pickup time of between 8-9AM. When I called about my special order letting them know I would be a little bit late they informed me I dint have a special order. Then they proceeded to blame me saying "if you ordered a special order you had to prepay. Well I ordered a special order from them three weeks prior and did not need to prepay before but I don't understand how the cashier failing to do her job means my special order just isn't done?
