This is a family own business and you can tell how amazing the dessert are. Rum cake are about 6-7" for 5", they change up flavors every week I believe. For bigger size rum cake, you will need to put in an order, they told me it's possible to call in the morning and pick up in the afternoon- just be mindful in holiday and busy time. On top of rum cake, they also has home made ice cream. The ice cream is rich and on heavier side- so maybe heavy cream instead of regular milk? They have a lot of flavors to choose from. Also, they made banana pudding cupcake and that stuffs is divine!!!! It was so soft and moist, they have banana pudding in middle of the cupcake, banana pudding as whip cream ? We were at Eavesdrop Brewery when we spotted Rumalutions. We have never seen a rum cake shop and we were very curious. They were very generous with their samples and we got to try a variety of rum cakes, ice cream, and the chocolate chip cookie. Our favorite rum cakes are butter rum and caramel and irish cream pistachio.  We tried the saffron, ube cheesecake, and a rum flavored ice cream and they were all so delicious. I really don't want to leave a 5-Star review because this place has always been one of the best kept secrets for me ice cream wise throughout the DC Metro Area. As a matter of fact, with the blueberry ice cream and cookies and cream alone, I would objectively put theirs ahead of everyone else's. We've seen flyers for this place around Eavesdrop every time we visit and we finally decided to stop in. The shop is pretty small but very clean with a slightly bigger kitchen in the back. The woman who was working the front was very nice and welcoming. She asked if it was our first time in and we said yes. Without skipping a beat, she starting queuing up the samples. Every single rum cake and ice cream we tried was so good. Another friendly employee came from the kitchen and even gave us a sample of a strawberry cake (not on the menu) that was so delicious. I was thinking there was no way we were gonna buy more than one rum cake but we walked out with 4 of them (pineapple, butter rum & caramel, chocolate chocolate chip, and banana nut (I think?). Every single one was so good but I would say butter rum & caramel was my favorite. Super moist, great to share, and had a slight rum flavor without being overpowering. You should definitely come through as this place is worth the trip alone but also great after a visit to Eavesdrop. The family that runs this place is so so so nice. He made sure I liked every flavor I bought, even though I personally was already sure about them! He insisted that I try the samples, and was just so kind - he made my short time in the store a whole EXPERIENCE! The butter rum and caramel rum cake is so warm and rich, like a giant comfort hug. The pineapple was so perfectly balanced, moist and just the right amount of pineapple. I also snagged an amaretto and coconut cake to go. They're individually packaged (and packed super well), and will last for a long time in the fridge (even longer in the freezer)! It's right around the corner (like a handful of steps away) from Eavesdrop Brewery. I saw them the first time I visited the brewery, and said "I'll grab something on my way out!" I was all sorts of sad that my timing was off and I missed them. I'm so glad I stopped by beforehand this time! They also have ice cream! The caramel bourbon ice cream is so amazing, that I'm still thinking about it nearly an hour later. They make everything, even down to the delicious caramel sauce. I've been to this farmers market every weekend since. Last weekend he mentioned he would have ice cream too. I literally ran six miles this morning so I wouldn't feel guilty about eating rum cake and rum ice cream, lol. Today he had mango rum cake with chunks of mango in it. I've already eaten half of one on the way home. He didn't have ice cream, so I got three mango rum cakes, lol. Also, the white velvet and amaretto rum cakes are delicious too.
