The food is absolutely delicious from the bread and salads to the pasta and main courses and if you have room for dessert you absolutely must try the lemoncello cake!! The food was excellent. The prices were fair for the quantity of food that we received and the desserts were amazing. We got the tiramissu, chocolate cake, and pistaccio cake. All the desserts were fantastic but the pistachio cake was unexpectedly excellent. We ordered a pizza, grilled chicken, Butternut squash ravioli, tagliatelli, and lasagne. The food came out fast and everything was excellent! We went on a Saturday night and surprisingly there was no wait! Our waiter Ryan was amazing as well. we were here for dinner Saturday night. We had understood that the owner was back, and some new chefs had been hired. It was a nice atmosphere, and our server, Carrie, was as delightful and helpful as could be. what a pleasure. She recommended the squash ravioli which was so mouthwatering, there are no words to describe the delicacy and richness of this dish. We ordered appetizers. and also the grilled chicken. It came with roasted potatoes and asparagus, and was so tender and moist, I cannot express my delight. They also serve a special type of bread, which is served with balsamic vinegar aBd EVOO For dipping. Perfect. The bad: Menu prices at Terra & Acqua were doubled for Valentine's Day. Food & service was only average. Ambiance: Average dining room in strip mall location. Made reservation 2 months in advance for 4:30pm. Restaurant opened at 4:00 and was not busy when we ordered. Food was served by a runner with app, salad, entrees coming out almost at same time. Definitely felt rushed. Server finally checked in when we were about finished with entree which was too late to tell her it had arrived luke warm. (Couldn't get anyone else's attention). Worse, however, was that there was a special holiday menu, with only half the regular menu items, with all items significantly increased in price. $39 for an individual pizza? Outrageous. $18 for espresso martini with Baileys? Even the apps were almost doubled in price from regular menu, with no notice of special fixed menu until our arrival. Gratuity for this "special night" was automatically added at 20%, regardless of size of party. Chose to stay only because we had somewhere to be after. While on a surprise birthday trip to St. Augustine, Ben agonised over where to take me for our first big celebration dinner together and he knows I am a foodie. He did really great and picked Terra & Acqua and later told me how much time he spent trying to find a nice restaurant he felt would be to my standards while in a different city, it was really cute and sweet (and he used Yelp!). Our waiter was great and very patient with us (even with a completely booked restaurant) as we were there for my birthday dinner, we were in no rush to order but were enjoying our drinks and each other's company to make it a dining experience vs just dining out. Huge difference. When we were ready to ask questions, he was very knowledgeable about their menu, offered suggestions based on questions he asked about our likes and also suggested different wines to go with specific menu items. I had even asked about what other tables had ordered based on when their food was brought out, it looked delicious and caught my eye. I ordered the Tagliatelle Aragosta, which came out perfect. Who doesn't love homemade pasta with fresh and properly cooked seafood?? It has a lobster tail, shrimp and calamari in it, all of which can so easily be overcooked, especially when putting together in 1 dish. The amount was large enough that Ben had to gladly step in to help me out so we didn't have left overs. Ben ordered the Vitello Marsala but without the cauliflower. Even without it, the meal size was plenty and his favorite part was they didn't skimp out on his beloved mushrooms. LOL. I did try some of his as well and the veal was so nice and tender, the Marsala sauce was great but I did have to fight for a mushroom or two. For the quality of food alone, plus adding on great service, I think they are very reasonably priced on their food items. I have spent far more on way less. read more

Terrible service. Was asked by an employee to change my husband's birthday dinner reservation from 9:30 to 8. We were on a boat and explained that we would get there as soon as we could. That still wasn't good enough. Very rude and ruined my husband's 70th birthday dinner. No longer a loyal customer. Sad way to treat people just because you want to go home early. read more

Overall the food below average. First bite all I got was SALT and even though my dish supposed to be spicy it was overly spicy. My partners dish was salty and spicy as well. Had the ribeye here tonight and it was excellent. I sat at the bar and Ryan took great care of me. He gave detailed descriptions of the specials and made it hard for me to pick a meal, they all sounded great. The evening started with 2 glasses of white wine paired wth the Fritto Misto. A lightly fried variety of seafood and veggies with a lightly spiced red pepper aioli. Nicely prepared. Entrees were also well prepared and spot on. The bone in pork chop topped with fontina and crispy pancetta, with a side of truffle mashed potatoes and broccoli. We had a wonderfully delicious experience at Terra & Acqua last week - 9/24 My husband ordered the lobster tail and fruits de mer linguine. He was pleased with the generous portion. Since our visit, he hasn't stopped talking about the incredible flavors of this dish. He has asked to go back twice this week! I ordered the Gnocchi with tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella. It was, hands down, the best gnocchi that I have ever had - including in Italy! The Gnocchi was made fresh for my order. It was perfectly shaped and it was light - not heavy like gnocchi can be. I ate the whole bowl and immediately began making plans for our next visit. If you are considering Terra & Acqua, you should know that this restaurant is is a local favorite! The menu is modern and innovative, the food is fresh, the pasta is handmade onsite, the ambience is casual, and they have a lovely Mediterranean-style outside patio with heaters for the cooler months. read more

I know there are some bad reviews for this place, but I honestly would recommend it to anyone in St Augustine Beach. My parents live near the restaurant and it's one of their favorites (and my dad has super high standards for Italian food hahaha). I go with them every time I visit and I've never been disappointed! I've actually had the same server every time I've gone, so I'm not sure about anyone else but he is always incredibly friendly and attentive. The service has also been fast (but not too fast!) every time I've gone, even with the spring break crowd tonight. Tonight I had the gnocchi gorgonzola and it was delicious! I would also recommend the fritto misto as an appetizer, it's a pretty sizable portion of calamari and other lightly breaded fried veggies and such. The service was good and the complimentary bread was the bomb, the sampler appetizer of calamari and fried veggies was very good but I was not thrilled with my entree. I ordered the lasagne, and was disappointed as it tasted as though it was left over from the previous day. There was a heaping of extra sauce on the top concealing the burnt layer of mozzarella cheese on the top. I would guess that the lasagne is probably really good if it is made fresh that day. The atmosphere was welcoming and the restaurant was clean. I would like to go back to try something else, but it's a little bit of a trek from our house. read more

We went to Terra and acqua for our anniversary ,from the moment we walked in the door the host was not welcoming and felt like she did not want to be there. Once sat a lady came by looking at the table and stated I'm not your server but I can get you water brace will be over. Approximately 10 minutes later our server finally came over and gave us the which he had to look at the board to confirm. We ordered drinks and they came out about 5 minutes later than an appetizer that came out fairly quick. Sadly this was the best part of the meal. From this point our appetizer was nowhere close to way described cantaloupe looked like it had been rough chopped or taken out of a Publix container the prosciutto was good but just laid on top of the fruit. We ordered two dishes a clam linguine and a boar papardelle. The clam linguini came out hot however the boar was cold. We asked our server if we could get something different and were told no as the kitchen was closed and the chef went home. He stated that he could microwave it or put it in a pan but no new dish could be.prepared. Not only was the server rude but was condescending toward us when questioned. I had high hopes for this place but I will surely not be returning and suggest other avoid it as well read more

The Good - Complimentary bread and oil was great and the Fritto Misto appetizer of calamari, shrimp, and veggies with roasted pepper aioli was fantastic. #OrderThis. Two of us ordered the Grouper and gnocchi special which was perfectly executed. The gnocchi salsiccia had a rich depth of flavor and I really enjoyed the spiciness. The "bad" was unfortunately what my wife ordered for her Mother's Day which was the lasagne. It didn't seem fresh and the burnt layer of cheese on top was hidden under more sauce and parmesan cheese - she peeled it off. I blame myself for not being more assertive and sending it back but we're not really the type to create a fuss. Service was a little slow but there're not usually opened for lunch and we weren't in too big a hurry. Would we go back? Absolutely. Might we try lasagne again, possibly. But if it resembled what we saw today, it would probably go back for something else. read more

My husband and I made a reservation for 8 on a Saturday night. Showed up a few minutes past 8. They were pretty busy. We had to wait about 7 minutes for a table. We used the time to look over their decent wine selection. The ambience of the restaurant is nice, slightly dim for a romantic feel. They have a wood fire oven which I enjoy. Our waiter was friendly but rushed. Their menu is somewhat hard to understand. The descriptions are partially in English and partially in Italian. They are a little pricey. Now, let's talk food. They bring bread to the table with oil, balsamic, and spices. The bread was flavorful. They offer many gluten free and vegan options. We got a three cheese mozzarella variety as an appetizer. I enjoyed two of the three. My husband liked the third. For dinner, we ordered a chianti. We finished the bottle. Enough said. My husband ordered the chicken under the brick. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were heavenly. I found the asparagus to be a bit bitter though. I ordered the pasta in the bolognese and meat sauce. The taste was nice. The portion was slightly small, which I'm fine with. I never can finish my food. We both ordered dessert. I got the grandma's lemon cake. It was delicious. I highly recommend it. My husband got gelato. They were out of three of the flavors he requested. He enjoyed the ones he ended up with (vanilla, dark chocolate, and salted caramel). This was hands down one of the worst dinning experiences of my life. Do yourself a favor & dodge this place. Went here with my family thinking we'd have a nice family dinner. Not the case. Don't waste your time or money here. It started with our party of four being sat at a booth that was way too small for our group. When looking around the restaurant every booth that size was seated with two people. The hostess was nice about me requesting a larger table. Our server on the other hand was not so great. She seemed annoyed with answering our questions. I mean that's your job as a server. There were also multiple strikes out by her. I'm a former server so tried to be considerate. Thought maybe she was having a bad day or possibly was busy but she didn't appear to be in any hurry to me. When ordering appetizers they were out of the fuchsia bread. We then order the bruschetta. Also out of that. So we ordered the table bread. The table bread was good but the oil & vinegar was heavy on oil. I requested more balsamic which was delivered after the bread was eaten. She brought more bread. We ordered the mozzarella appetizer which was pretty good. There were no appetizer plates delivered. Our entrees were terrible. Every entrees sauce was bland. Italian food is about the sauce. There was no seasoning. The Bolognase sauce tasted like straight up dumped from a can tomato sauce. No Italian spices, no garlic, salt, pepper, & just awful. Same went for the side of broccolini my husband ordered. Which was just cooked in olive oil. I had the lobster pasta it had peas on it. No where on the menu are peas mentioned as an ingredient. If capers were in the dish it would have been something I'd expect as being an ingredient but sweet peas? Very odd ingredient. The lobster pasta was bland, the filling was pasty, & the shells were undercooked so firm on the edges. The dish was also lukewarm. Also, found a piece of lobster shell in it. We love Italian food & we were all so shocked at how poorly executed the food was & service was The server forgot to bring my side salad too. She wasn't very attentive at checking on us throughout the meal. So inattentive that I had to get up from the table to request the bill. Again, former server & hate doing stuff like that but by that point I just wanted to get out of there. There was a charge for the salad I didn't receive too. So all in all would never recommend this place. Definitely will tell our family & friends to skip this one when on the area. Don't waste you time or money here. Made a reservation for a Saturday night. Party of 4 and one child. First thing we noticed was it was boiling hot inside. I realize it's insanely hot outside but if the air conditioning is not working perhaps it would be wise to close and fix the problem before serving people. It is uncomfortable to enjoy anything when you are sweating. We were seated and given water with no ice so I am assuming they had no working ice maker too another reason to maybe shut down for the day and resolve some issues. Honestly I might have been mo comfortable sitting outside. Next no bread. Very strange. I read the other reviews. People were served bread. We were told there wasn't any wine but were given an enormous list to choose from. She seemed to try to guide us to this one specific wine seemingly trying to get rid of it. It was gross. Next We were told pizzas were backed up assuming they were probably pretty good . So two pizzas were ordered. The beef tip special was ordered and a New York strip steak. Both pizzas were clearly rushed and were tragically undercooked. Insulted my life as a pastry chef honestly. A frozen pizza from the grocery store would have probably been better than this. My husband ordered the bib salad which was to be dressed with "fondue cheese". Our waitress informed him when the salad was placed In front of him that they were out of fondue cheese so he had to tell her what he preferred from their list of choices. Who does that? Why not ask before you order or come back before making it so you can maybe choose a different salad. The beef tip special was supposed to be braised in a red wine reduction but it was dry and it could definitely be considered "stew meat" and it arrived to the table lukewarm. The New York strip was overcooked and overall not very good. This restaurant is headed for closure. I wouldn't be back. I certainly wouldn't recommend. The waitress wasn't even friendly. I don't see how anyone could say best Italian food under any circumstances. They could use some help. read more

The hostess walked us to our table and placed the menus down so we sat and from 4 tables away this woman screamed, I assume she was a manager since she was dressed not in all black, screamed at us "we haven't even put the place settings down yet what do you think your doing " we jumped up so fast since we got scolded and all the tables around were also taken back but how this women screamed. We sat there speechless and decided to leave the restaurant because we just couldn't believe how we were yelled out for just sitting at the table we were brought too. The food and experience could use some help. I ordered a Caprese that came with large slices of tomatoes and round slices of mozzarella that were cut in half. Disappointing. It looked like they were trying to save money. Some dishes were good, like the chicken parm, while some pasta dishes were harder than al dente and not edible. The long wine list was mostly expensive bottles of wine $50 and up, which is pricey for the place. Our wine tasted horrible. It was also quite warm in there, not sure if something was wrong with the AC. Not the best overall experience, especially celebrating a birthday. read more

Visited this establishment on 2/21/22 for dinner. My wife and I sat at the bar by choice, and Justin C. was our server. He took excellent care of us as best he could, because he apparently was the only bar tender taking care of the entire restaurant. We started by sharing an order of mussels as our appetizer and they were delicious. We shared a bottle of Cabernet that was very good ($28.00). We wanted a particular bottle of Chianti but they had none left. For my entree I had the lobster ravioli and a small Caesar salad salad, both very good ($30.00 for the salad plus entree). My wife ordered the 14 oz Rib Eye steak entree and she loved it ($29.00). We love the preparation of all the meals we've ever had here mainly because the flavors are always perfectly balanced, and not overpowered with garlic the way so many other restaurants prepare their food. We overheard the bartender tell a patron that they had no Peroni Beer left and on another occasion heard him tell a patron who ordered an Old Fashion that he had no orange peel for the drink. We really like this restaurant a lot and hope they aren't having problems. It not normal to me to see items on the menu be unavailable for purchase. Despite my concerns I highly recommend this restaurant. It's one of our favs in SA. read more
