Having made my way to Terminal Bar on at least three occasions now, I can give them a solid 4 out of 5 stars on the ol' Yelp-o-Matic. What I like: ++ The selection of creative craft cocktails is chef's kiss delicious! ++ The variety of Colorado craft brews is pretty damn impressive. ++ The ability to grab a beer at the walk'up window is really convenient when you're looking for a more casual experience. ++ Bartenders have always be friendly and made great conversation with myself and my fellow guests, even entertaining my husband with a laugh at his terrible dad-esque jokes. ++ The location is absolutely a vibe. What I don't like: -- There is an automatic gratuity that they fail to tell you about most of the time, and I forget about it more often than not. -- Prices are undoubtedly steep. A draft beer costs anywhere from $6 to $9 depending on the pour; with most brews coming in on the higher end of that price range. The craft cocktails are delicious, but will run you $11 - $15. Yikes! Terminal Bar is a solid stop when you find yourself needing to kill some time in Union Station. Until recently this was a wonderful place to drink beer, but they have changed the beer list and made it much less distinctive. It used to have only Colorado micro-brews. No more. Not that other state's don't have good beer, but this was a truly excellent selection of Colorado's finest. Last night I could not even find a hazy IPA on the menu. The Hefeweizen was not a real Hefe; no foam; too sweet; and it was $9. I used to extoll the Terminal Bar to my friends and acquaintances. Won't do that again with the current approach. read more

Waiting for my friend to fly in from LA and I stopped to have a drink at the bar @ 10. All of a sudden a cockroach runs on top of the bar. I tried to catch it to kill it. The bartender killed it and trashed it. There was no apology or explanation. I doubt I will ever go back. Good thing I didn't order any food. Gross! read more

Amazing drinks! Bartenders are amazing & friendly & are great at their work, 10/10 recommend but be prepared to spend some good money on their drinks, totally worth it though. For the drink pictured, old fashion was $25 but absolutely great. read more

Came in today before a Rockies game. Place was fairly empty. My husband and I sat at the bar. We sat, and sat, and sat. Bartender filled her water bottle. Talked to what seemed to be a manager, not sure. We sat. And sat. Right in front of them. No acknowledgement, no eye contact. Are we invisible? They could not be bothered to do any semblance of their job. We left after about 7 minutes of sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. I said to her after we gave up and left, that we had had ZERO acknowledgement after 5+ minutes. She looked shocked and mumbled I'm sorry. Pathetic. We sat down right in front of you!!!! You all aren't suited to receive your paychecks. We walked next door and had wonderful customer service and food next door at Ultreia. Night and day experience. If I had my way when going out to dinner, I would choose 3 different restaurants for the evening - one for the appetizer, one for the mains and one for dessert. I don't score this "gastronomic trifecta" often. However, the daily double is more attainable, and I achieve this prize on a periodic basis. In this case, it would be two restaurants for the night. As such, I scored again in Denver, where I came to the Terminal Bar at Denver Union Station to have dessert after having the main dinner course elsewhere. The Terminal Bar is located inside the Denver Union Station and is the majestic and main eye catcher amongst the other establishments. It is also located in a commanding area of the grand hall. The dessert menu at the Terminal Bar has only two items. That was okay with me, because they had one of my favorite deserts - the Molten Lava Cake. I had it with vanilla ice cream (this comes from the adjacent Milkbox creamery in the same building). The molten lava cake itself was very different. The outside had a perfectly crafted and fragrant brownie crust with a moist inside of uneven lava. More dark chocolate and cream was designed to be outside the cake to make a simple but dramatic presentation. The vanilla ice cream came separated in a bowl. Eating all these elements together wrang all the happy sensory bells and whistles for the culinary senses. A grand finale to my memorable last few hours in Denver. read more

Wow, some of the best food and drinks I've ever had at the hotel I'm staying at. I got a steak salad and it was SO fresh and well made. I ordered a glass of sparkling wine, and their selections were great. We decided to go here on a whim and a slight discount, and it ended up being one of the best meals. Pro tip: if it's busy and there is no seating, do not be afraid to sit at the bar. The bartenders are super nice and I think it was quicker. read more

This establishment is inside of Union Station. The decor is period inspired, something like the 1930s? with lots of dark wood and swanky. TVs to watch the game. I met a friend here for a drink and had some appetizers. The chicken wings were above average and notably enjoyable for me. The ample serving of lightly battered fries were a bargain for $3?. I also had a small side salad which was well prepared and acceptable. My friend got the Blondie ala mode -- which I thought was outstanding. Service was friendly and efficient. No complaints. In summary, Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 4.5/5 (bustling and deliberately noisy) Prices 3.5/5 Portion Size 3.5/5 Bang for the Buck 4/5 Great place for a meeting your business colleagues or even a first date, perhaps... The space is art-deco beautiful. With majestic soaring ceiling, brass fixtures, and dark marble, it's one of the iconic major city Union Station bars/restaurants. There are a lot of people coming and going. It's effortless people watching, action, and energy. I've strolled in here before a few years ago to have a drink and take in all the Union Station buzz and energy. I give the location a 5 stars; Service- 4 stars for our busy, but friendly bartender; And the food we ordered, only an extremely faint- dim 2.5 stars. Overall, I would rate this visit a 3.75 stars if permitted. We ordered the margherita flatbread pizza and tomato bruschetta off their happy hour menu. The tomato sauce on the pizza was sweet and the crust was uneven. It reminded me of an undercooked microwaveable frozen lunch that I tried to make when I was seven years old. The tomato bruschetta was extremely soggy, and the diced tomatoes were also sweet; but not in a good way. Maybe, if the bread was crispier or if the tomatoes were lightly poured on the bread, it would have been ok. IMO, these two orders were probably not the best items on the menu. Traveling by train, airplanes, and ships still fascinate this old Gen-X dude. I will mostly likely return to Terminal Bar and have a cocktail or glass of wine. read more

This bar was in the Denver Union Station and our hotel stay included two drinks (from a select menu) from this bar. It was always lively and had plenty of patrons. We could only use our drink vouchers at a certain time so we lined up at the back window facing the interior and ordered two beers (we always like to try local breweries if we can). Shared a meal with the kiddo as it was late - ordered the burger with sweet potato fries, and a side of queso dip (sub for the chicken wings). Washed it all down with an old fashioned. Drink was delicious. Big ice cube, decent orange bitters, and a sweet tang to the glass filled with Makers. Paired nicely with the fatty, smashed double cheeseburger. Burger and fries were good. Tasty mostly because we were starving, more or less Yard House stuff; nothing to write home about. Queso chips were overly salty, but edible. LOVED this bar. Was my favorite bar in Denver - it is located in union square right on the terminal of the train (thus the name lol). It reminds me a lot of an elegant bar that I used to go to in London (the Ned - if you are ever in London) so it brought back really good memories. The drinks were really good - a bit more expensive compared to the rest of Denver but worth it - my dirty martini was one of the best I had in the state. :) Definitely recommend! read more

Came in with my husband and in-laws after walking around Union Station. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary, my husband ordered a French 75, and my father in law ordered a Pilsner. The spicy Bloody Mary was lackluster. The flavor was just okay, but it didn't come with any garnishes at all. I love Bloody Mary's and order them often, so I was surprised that it didn't even come with a lime or anything. The French 75 was a bit too sweet, but it was pretty and refreshing. What a great bar in a train station and 5 blocks from my hotel. Centrally located its a great spot to meet friends and family when they get out of work on a Friday. For it being in a transport hub, it was surprisingly really clean! Not only is there this terrific bar but there's a few eateries and shops. The espresso martinis were the highlight of this visit. This place is very cool. Tucked away in Union Station, the train station motif is strong and fun. We came here two days in a row to escape the June Denver heat and it has been pretty awesome. The beer and cocktail selections are legit and everyone has been pretty friendly. In regards to the food, we got the pretzel noghts yesterday and today which were out of this world. We also got the wings today, and they were super legit. Yesterday we got the tenders, and they were not good, so I'd suggest staying away from them. We got the wings today, and they were big and juicy. They also have less than mediocre ranch, but excellent blue cheese, so do with that as you want. Importantly, relative to my rating, the service got backed up substantially today and the manager comped our drinks. He didn't have to, and the atmosphere is good enough to make up for a longer wait than I'd expect, but it was welcome and appreciated. We'll definitely return. read more

Fun stop after leaving the airport by taking the train. Please wear your mask as you enter Union Station and find a spot or a table inside/outside the bar. My wife went up to the outside window and ordered a martini and an iced Irish coffee. Surprisingly my coffee was only $10 which is really not bad at all. You can start a tab or close it out, really up to you. There are options to be on the main floor of Union Station or sit inside the bar. It was a bit too crowded for our liking. Therefore we decided to sit a table near some comfy couches. The scene is chill and really people are minding there own business. Some people were even working on laptops and doing homework. Luckily my daughter had her tablet so we were just hanging out until we were ready for our Lyft to pick us up. I'm not sure why the reviews are so low for this place. It really is a vibe here. This was a fun spot to stop at for drinks. I loved the old train station atmosphere. It's important to note this place was rather touristy (which we were) and probably not a good spot to come to if you're a local but we enjoyed sitting at the bar and people watching. Our bartenders were also great and made us some interesting shots that looked like pepto bismal but we're fabulous. I couldn't eat here because of my allergies but my friend said the pretzel and beer cheese was "fine". Not a glowing recommendation but not the worst. I'm very well aware that the entire Union Station area is probably tourist dense so if you're not into a touristy area then you probably won't like this place....but as a tourist here...I LOVED IT! I thought the entire area was charming and full of places to eat/drink and hangout. The Terminal Bar was one of my favorite areas inside. There's a window where you can order your cocktails OR you can go inside the bar and order from there. Alright, if you have friends visiting the area, this is a must! The union station is over 100 years old and was recently renovated making it a really cool place to grab a drink in. The cocktails are great and you get your choice of sitting in the bar in a big cozy booth, or you can venture out into the train station, find yourself a big chair, and drink under those old green library lamps and art-deco ceiling and pretend you're some ostentatious old man taking a break a long day's work.
