We came here at 10:30, and did not receive our food until almost 11:30. We ordered the loaded potatoes, brussels sprout hash, coffee, hot chocolate, and a side of toast! Loaded potatoes were good, but was not hot. Brussels hash was delicious. Food overall was good, nothing spectacular. The coffee was delicious, they serve you an entire french press. The plates were small but just the right amount of food. Service was okay, staff wasn't very attentive and the wait was long. read more

Went here for a quick brunch, but as luck would have it, we came in right after a group of 11. There were only two of us, and we both ordered scrambled eggs. The wait was long, and the waitresses seemed a little scattered; they weren't sure if they had taken our order, and almost served us someone else's order. Food was hot and delicious, once we received them. Would have been a better experience upon being seated to expect a longer wait. This place is so good! The breakfast is delicious & the sandwiches are fantastic. The owner is the nicest person you've ever met. The curried chicken salad sandwich was so yummy. I also had the beet salad. The next day, for breakfast I had Dad -- English muffin with egg, spinach & tomato. It was excellent. If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd eat here every day! OK, this was a hard one because I REALLY like to like local businesses and the food here is really good. Like REALLY good. It's a pretty standard menu and decor, but what they do, they do really well. HOWEVER. Went this past Mother's Day for breakfast and there may have been 3 women working. The place was predictably full, and all 3 were working in the kitchen AND serving. It took an hour for us to get our food. An hour. It was delicious when we got it, but getting an explanation and warning about the speed of service would have been a great way to connect with the customers and manage expectations. I understand small businesses have to make some sacrifices and compromises to remain profitable, but an hour for food is inappropriate without an explanation, and "it was mother's day" isn't acceptable. It's on the calendar and we all know brunch is a big deal on that day, so extra coverage would have been a good move. Someone quits? No problem, let the customers know there's a problem and it will take longer. This is a local place, people here have probably been here before (like us) and you'll probably see them again, so you REALLY don't want to alienate any of your neighbors. read more

Comfortable neighborhood spot, it's always a cozy treat to visit with friends at Tenth West. C I've been here half a dozen times in the past year and I am always happy. The breakfasts are elevated basics - I usually get a scramble with their tasty home fries and little toasted baguette. The coffee is always hot and brewed to your liking at the table in a French press. I also tried a panini, they had a lot of side options but I selected chips and got to pick a bag off the display, from many flavors! There are cafe tables inside and outside PLUS a big communal table inside around the little market, it reminds me of a New York bodega with food and basic groceries in one place (but nicer and roomier!). They have baked goods like coffee cake and other treats, and soups and a daily special. I keep coming back and haven't gotten tired of this spot. read more

Started off with a hot French press coffee, ordered the western scrambler which came with a healthy side of potatoes and baguette bread - could've fed a family of 4. My girlfriend had the cheeta which was also very good and a healthy portion. Ordered the rice krispy for a little Friday morning dessert and it really wrapped together the trip to flavortown. We go for breakfast and would give this 5 stars for ambiance and the wonderful women who run this place! The breakfast specials are usually eggs with a choice of potatoes or fruit cup and toast. The bagel egg sandwich with bacon and cheddar is excellent. They don't serve waffles or pancakes (wish they did). :( This is a relatively undiscovered gem and I shouldn't share this lovely cafe with everyone but feel they deserve accolades for a great business. read more

We have lived within blocks for years and finally visited for the first time yesterday with 2 other people. 2 of us had scrambles and the other had the veggie potatoes. The eggs were so perfectly creamy and not over cooked. Seasoned with salt and just a slight hint of garlic. Melt in my mouth. I love the option of a fresh fruit cup- strawberries, blueberries, bananas apples. The service was speedy, coffee press coffee was amazing, and the waitress was sweet and chatty. I really wanted to like this place and gave it a couple try's just in case my first visit was an off chance but I think it's safe to say I won't be returning. I love the area and feel of this place, however the service is really poor and quite honestly I unfriendly. I have come in twice when there is hardly anyone in the place and basically been ignored. After they take your order and drop off your food you never see them it was the same pattern both times. My last visit I waited 20 mins to get my bill no one ever came so I had to go the counter and ask to check out, again no one was in the place at this time maybe one other customer. A five minute drive from the city this LQA neighborhood restaurant always feels like you're far away from the city buzz. The staff is warm and greeting every time you come in the door. You immediately feel the good energy in this boutique country general store style breakfast/lunch joint. You really can't go wrong with their French press style coffee for two or four. Breakfast has good mimosas and I've heard afternoon wine on the patio is also choice. To save the best for last the food here is absolutely top notch, particularly breakfast. One of the first places we have tried in Seattle while on a mini getaway. It's walking distance from the place we are staying. It is a cute neighborhood place with both outdoor and indoor seating. Coffee was not good per Michael. The coffee cake was homemade with a lot of sugar topping and it was light and airy. The waffle was thick and salty and wasn't quite a waffle and not a pancake either. The fruit was passable. It was disappointing and we are sad that this is the rating. Had to ask for cream a couple of times and also hot water a couple of times. It may be good for the neighborhood but I can't say the existing rating is accurate. Maybe we didn't get the right signature item? The menu was small so shouldn't everything be good? I love the icebox. In fact i eat there several times a week. My special Tuna sandwich is a combo of the veggie breadstick with tuna on top. Ask them for one if you like tuna, olives, artichokes, and cheese. Love the staff. I always have the feeling like I'm eating in some ones warm kitchen. Yum, this place is now one of my favorite breakfast spots! It's a little off the beaten path in Queen Anne, so you can tell this cafe is a neighborhood favorite. Coffee is served in a French press for the table, the food is fresh, decor is homey, and the portions are perfect to satisfy but not leave you stuffed. After placing our orders, the sweet waitress asked us if we wanted a "warmed slice of coffee cake with butter" while we waited: yes, please! Wonderful Brunch! I was hoping that this place would be as good as previous reviewers had promised - and we were not disappointed. This unassuming little neighborhood "general store" offers a little bit of everything from the Cafe, to basic groceries, beer & wine, very nice people and wonderful food. I had the daily special appropriately called a "Taco Scramble" and it was everything I imagined it would be... eggs perfectly cooked, spicy ground beef, fresh avocado, sour cream (the works). My beloved had a waffle that was a bit like a yummy cake (or perhaps a fluffy muffin) but I am told it also come crunchy if you ask for it "well done". The French Press coffee was bold and black and the generous portion was just enough for two thirsty people. I left there feeling proud of myself for finding a "new" (for us) cafe just down the street from our house. I have driven past it hundreds of times in the 30 years we have lived in Queen Anne and it just became my new favorite brunch spot. Takes me a while... read more

It is stuffed with good foods, and the deli case is very appealing. sandwiches, soups, mac and cheese, enchiladas. top-notch service, felt very personal. Oh my. I have to say, this place is super impressive. I went here for happy hour. I had the Caprese sandwiches and a side salad. Well. They were both outstanding. I don't know what they put on for dressing but it was delish. When they say side salad, they don't mean iceberg... it had cucumbers and onions and pumpkin seeds, (I think) and spinach. They have fabulous customer service, very friendly and wonderful ladies at the front, and very nice servers. They remembered me after one previous visit 2 weeks ago. The atmosphere is very relaxed and well, for lack of a better phrase...perfect. They serve you, and it is with a smile and flourish. I also had a sangria, and it was a lot with a cute umbrella. I had reviewed this place a long time ago, before the new folks bought it. It is still great, and even better! The women who own this place used to own a very popular place in Fremont, so we are so lucky they are right on 10th Ave West. Do think of this place for breakfast and lunch, it is a hidden gem. The food is fantastic, and their salads are much better than anything you will find on the avenue or McGraw Street. Try them out! It will be a great habit. read more

This place is a really mixed bag. The food is great... IF you have a spare hour to wait for it. Do not, under any circumstances, bring a hungry toddler here. The high chairs are broken and the service is slow to non-existent. At best, brusque and, if I were more cynical, flat out rude. No real welcome, no menus brought, no water and we had to really chase them down to order a coffee. But again, the food is tasty. I'm just not sure it's worth the extensive wait. Also on the expensive side considering the setting and style of food (simple, albeit cute, family style restaurant) - $46 for two scrambles and two coffees including tip. We probably won't return because it was pretty exhausting trying to entertain a toddler for that long without something to eat. If you're sans enfant and feeling super leisurely, and don't mind the off-hand service, then why not? read more
