This is a great bakery and cafe in the Madrona/Leschi area. That block (and across the street) has some great restaurants. I have been here before and loved the pastries but did not get to appreciate it because of how busy it was. I recently returned on a Saturday, right when they opened, at 7am and can see myself returning around the same time. Other people were there as well but less than 5 groups. Lots of bakery options. I enjoyed the cinnamon bun sausage roll and a latte and got some pastries to go. Cool spaces to sit and chat. Helpful staff.

Temple bakery was recommend to me and it didn't disappoint! I got the shallot Gruyère croissant and it was a solid good savory pastry. The staff was very helpful and friendly and gave me great suggestions. It seems that some of their signature pastries sold out earlier in the morning. This bakery shares common space with broadcast coffee and also sell coffee from the roaster. They also sell a variety of wine and merchandise. It has WiFi and spacious seating.

These pastries are often mentioned in social media and the line was quite long for a weekday afternoon. Given the hype, I was actually a big disappointed. Yes, everything was decent and the chocolate croissant was especially tasty, but I don't think it is worth going out of your way for? The pastries did sound really unique and maybe we chose some not as good choices though.

I've eaten here, had coffee here, and had take-out pastries here easily twenty times over the last few years, so I'm surprised I haven't written a review before. First, the positives. The pastries really are first-rate. Incredibly well made, top ingredients. There is a lot of talent in the kitchen. Today's cake was pumpkin spice latte, which cost $12. Definitely not a low price. When I come here for coffee, it is reasonably priced. The turkey pesto sandwich is delicious and also reasonably priced. The ambiance of the cafe --- downstairs, upstairs and outside, is pleasant, with a good vibe from customers who enjoy being there. Two reasons for the 4 (vs. 5-star) rating: the service is really hit and miss and in my experience, more misses than hits. Waits for orders can be long. The staff is generally efficient rather than friendly. I'll return for the food, though and the reasonably priced drip coffee.

The best crossiants I've had in my life have to be from the temple pastries. My friend was constantly raving about the place and now I get why. The croissants were literally like a work of art and too beautiful to eat. The line was manageable when we went but got busy after and they also have ample seating available. Tried the blueberry corn, raspberry bucketwheat and tomato basil croissant and each was better than the other. Highly recommend this place!

The display case alone is worth the trip. Macarons, cake slices, mousse cakes, tarts...everything looks unique. I went for the hazelnut praline flan and it was genuinely excellent. Rich, smooth, with that praline flavor coming through the whole way. There's usually a line, but it moves quickly. The space itself is lovely with high ceilings, big windows, trailing plants everywhere. A bit crowded even on a Monday morning though. Excited to work through more of the menu. The yuzu and black sesame options are calling my name.

Went on a Sunday around 1:30 pm parking was pretty challenging, but after some effort we managed to find a spot right in front of the cafe. There was a long line, and we had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our turn. I have to agree with other reviews about the service the interaction wasn't great. The staff member didn't seem very interested, and when I asked if my chocolate croissant could be toasted, she bluntly said they don't do that. I ordered a hot latte, which was just okay. I really wish the croissant had been warm it was quite dry and had a slightly burnt taste. Overall, it didn't feel worth the price. I've seen some reviews calling it overrated, and I'd have to agree. It was an average experience at best. I don't think I'll be returning I've definitely enjoyed the croissants and service at Sea Wolf much more.

Okay spot I came later in the morning for breakfast. I got stuck with work but luckily I missed the rush so I got served quickly. I ordered the cardamom brioche pastry and a latte. The bread was dry, I wish I asked them to warm it up. It was okay. Nothing spectacular, I've had better cardamom breads before. My coffee was average as well. The syrup was not sweet, very weak in flavor. They pulled a really good shot though, quality was top notch. Just make sure you ask them to warm up the pastries!

We went to Temple Pastries last month and decided to go all out with the order. I am so glad we did because the technique here is on another level. Every single item felt deliberate, intricate, and yummy. Here is the breakdown of what we got: * The Drink: We started with the Dirty Orange Mocha. It was delicious, the citrus note was bright but balanced perfectly with the chocolate and espresso. * The Savories: The Curry Donut was such a unique and flavorful bite. If you want a classic pastry done right, the Shallot and Gruyere Croissant is a must; the layers were incredibly flaky and the cheese flavor was rich. * The Sweets: This is where they really shine. The Passion Fruit Custard Cream Bun was a highlight, with a tartness that was super refreshing. The Horchata Donut and the Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cruffin were pure comfort food but elevated. We also loved the Pistachio Roll and the Sesame Macaroon, which had amazing textures and distinct flavors. The attention to detail in the lamination and fillings is obvious. It is rare to order this many items and have every single one be a hit, but Temple pulled it off. Great service too. Highly recommend!

So it's been a minute since I've been to temple and wouldn't you know it, it's like their baker Christina Wood was a James Beard semi finalist ‍ huh who knew. Well based on the line that was outside the door, quite a few people! This place is a cute little corner shop that has room for seating both inside, outside and upstairs. You can also pre order a bunch of items, just make sure you do so 3 days in advance. Everything we had here was insane, I think out favorite was the mushroom quiche, the cinnamon cream cheese Cruffin and the Miso Caramel Shortbed that was the fanciest Stroopwafel EVER! lol try it you'll understand EVERYTHING WAS 5/5 Tiramisu Chocolate buckwheat shortbread Miso Caramel & Kinako Shortbread Mushroom Quiche Rye Pain Au Chocolate Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cruffin Grapefruit and hazelnut croissant Chocolate chip cookie

Salted caramel cronut, Olive focaccia, gruyere and shallot cruffen and seeded sourdough

Love Temple pastries. This was my second time here and I'll definitely be back. I picked up a loaf of seeded sourdough, salted caramel cronut, a couple olive focaccia and a gruyere and shallot cruffin/croissant. All all were absolutely delicious. So fresh, so flaky so flavorful. I would definitely recommend them all. So challenging to decide which one I like best, but I guess the one which edged the others to the top of the competition was the salted caramel cronut - which had a crunchy caramel topping (like the topping of a creme brulee) over a flaky buttery croissant roll. The topping was the perfect balance of sweet with a hint of salt.

The macarons and desserts!

The pastries they have available are incredibly good! I can personally vouch for: savory: shallot & gruyère and the rye ham and cheddar sweet: macarons (any flavor really you can't go wrong), chocolate and cocoa nib cookie, and the cinnamon cream cheese cruffin. The space this bakery is located in is cute with great natural light and many healthy looking plants. There is seating, however this place tends to get busy! So come prepared to stand in a bit of a line (it usually moves quickly). I would note that I haven't found the coffee to be particularly good and would recommend going elsewhere to grab a better coffee! I am excited to try more of their desserts.

3.5 rounded to 4. Nice interior layout! Feel like would be a nice place to get some work done. Got their rye pain au chocolat and the hazelnut praline flan. Thought the flan pastry was unique and worth a try!

**Piroshky Piroshky, Pike Place Market**…read more We stopped in around 11am on a Saturday before our Starbucks reservation, and I was surprised to walk right up with no line. My two girlfriends and I split the hash brown, bacon, egg and cheese piroshky, which was the right call. It's hearty enough that a third each was a solid snack to get something in our stomachs before a morning of caffeine. It's exactly as advertised and delicious. The pastry is soft and the filling is generous, with plenty of bacon and hash browns in every bite. It ran a little salty for my taste, but I'd chalk that up to how much bacon they pack in rather than a flaw in the recipe. The best endorsement I can give is that we went back again the next morning.

It looked a bit long, but once you got in line, it actually moved fairly quickly! I got to the front in about 15 minutes, and there were about 15 people ahead of me. I got a few items on the list: their classic beef and cheese, chicken curry and rice Piroshky, and their bacon egg and cheese Piroshky. The food came out literally within a minute as they were coming out quickly, the ambiance was fast pace, take your order move to the next person, get your food and pay! I thought the bacon egg and cheese one was okay, the chicken curry and rice was pretty darn good, but the classic beef and cheese, mmmmmm you just can't say no. Next time i'll be ordering a bunch more, because 12 was not enough!

They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! Buttery flaky layers of dough with a strong earthy mushroom flavor and savory cheese - an absolute umami bomb. We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. It was filled with a blueberry cream and was definitely very filling. There's a lot of sugar coating it, as is standard with cruffins, but it's a nice sweet treat. Definitely coming back for the mushroom and Gruyère pastry and to try their other delicious flavors. Their supreme croissant flavor switches often and we can't wait to try the next one! It's good enough to eat by itself, or makes a wonderful base for sandwiches. This is definitely a bread to savor. The cinnamon roll has almost caramelized raisins inside, very unique. The cinnamon is balanced with the brown sugar so it's perfectly sweet. As for the dough, it's laminated so it's almost croissant-like and yet chewy and crisp at the same time. Delicious!

The soft serve itself is a really creamy and rich vanilla milk flavor. I would say it's closer to that Asian milk flavor if you know what I mean. I think the hojicha syrup is my favorite out of all the ones I've tried so far. It has a really nice roasty flavor and not something you can find at most other places. The matcha I would say is my second favorite. The flavor of the matcha syrup is definitely lighter compared to the hojicha but still is a nice compliment to the soft serve. The black sesame would be the lowest on my list out of the, all since I felt like the flavor was too nutty like it was a blend of sesame and potentially a nut. Overall I would definitely go back for the hojicha but if you're not into that there's definitely solid options for other flavors.
