I've been on an absolute tear with scoping in on the best pizzas in Seattle, and it came as no surprise to me that one of my top spots is primarily a French bakery. Alexandra's may be known for slinging out beautiful Macarons, but you all know I'm only here for the beautiful pies that they ONLY make on Thursdays. The pizza professionals here are certified chillers. They made me want to open up my own bakery, but there's no way that I could be as cool as them (or bake good food). We pulled up to take our pizzas to go, and we were frozen in place after the viewing the strikingly gorgeous cakes on display. It was destiny telling us that we indeed needed dessert that night, so we decided to order one of both. Little did we know that they were about to give us the largest slices of cake we've ever seen - they lasted 3 nights! But let me tell you about the pizzas. Both of these were out of this world, and so creative. French onion soup on a pizza? That is genius. They're taking the best elements of the dish, but making it into pizza instead of soup. Who wouldn't want that? And then they had a summer special with a white sauce, squash and ricotta. A wonderfully light pizza, but with HEAVY flavor. Everyone always told me growing up that the crust is the best part of pizza. I never understood that, it just seemed like a strange lie that was perpetuated by Big Bread. But Alexandra's has made me a believer in Crust Nation. The bake on this pie is one of the best I've EVER had anywhere. I actually wanted more crust after I was done. This is a charming cafe with exceptional baked goods and a "vibe" that is particularly attractive because it rejects the clinical, modernist, techno-corporate gimmick. Eschew Wifi-enabled tech-absorption in favor of real conversations, long-form thoughts exchanged with multiple intelligences called for in real human connection, or the simple joy of imagination and day dreaming. I love their decorative little tables facing the quiet Capitol Hill side-street itself not particularly attractive -- but which offers a pause for a bite and a sip without the capitalist rushtime nipping at your heels. I've had their stellar and inventive-flavored macarons, but their cakes are no slouches either. The rose pistachio coffee cake was delectable. I make this place a destination because if I am lucky I can get one of those bay-window tables for a vegetarian quiche or Spanish tortilla washed down by coffee. I noticed the use of fresh herbs and the sense of a good ingredients and home-touch hand with their plates, as opposed to the commonplace, harried, sloppy kitchen production. Their drip coffee was too acidic for my taste (I prefer nutty balanced, chocolatey flavor). Next time I would get a latte. A higgledy-piggledy antique-style bathroom in the back is another sign of a time-hewn, characterful place. The brickwork in their narrow back patio is inviting but on a recent Sunday morning had been snagged for a private party. Finally a note to the artful wall tributes to heroic workers martyrs from U.S. history. The cafe elevates the spirit of care for the working person, which is noteworthy. Counter to the loudest mouthpieces of the modern era that would erase these assassinated/ crushed heroes that fought for the wellbeing and life of working people, you know that it is these heroes' spirit of courage that continues to outshine the capitalist drivel and machine mind of the majority. read more

Nut allergy warning: As always, macarons use almond flour, so avoid pastries. Review is primarily for their drinks. We came in at around 9AM on a Friday morning and there weren't that many people there. I ordered their matcha latte and my partner ordered the cold brew. Drinks were ready in less than five minutes. Cold Brew: 3/5. Had a slightly sour note, indicating that it might have been a little old or brewed slightly too long. I will say I liked it better than some other nearby options in terms of the flavor of the roast and not being diluted by ice. Matcha Latte: 4/5. Nice earthy flavor. I'd order this again. A friend came by later to look around and noted that there were a number of flies on the macarons, so I would examine those carefully before ordering any. read more

I stopped by Alexandra's for Sunday brunch with some friends. The café was busy when we arrived around 1 PM, with every table filled, but the cozy atmosphere made it a nice place to relax. I ordered the sweet waffles, while my friend got the savory version. Mine came with strawberry jam and whipped cream, and the waffles were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. The sweet and tart flavors balanced well. The savory waffles had herbed cream cheese, jalapeños, and a fried egg, which made for a completely different but tasty combination. While both were solid, I preferred the sweet one. On our waitress's recommendation, I also tried the frittata, and it ended up being my favorite dish. Alexandra's is criminally underrated. It's cute and fairly spacious inside, has two sidewalk bistro tables, and brunch is not busy so there's no wait. I realize I'm probably shooting myself in the foot with that little note, but they deserve the business. The young staff is super helpful and take care of patrons quickly. There are so many delicious looking items. We tried the tartine, a sweet sourdough waffle, and a savory one. Every single bite was amazing. There was definitely a hard boiled egg where a soft boiled (or was it poached?) was offered, but that hardly phased us. We took 6 packs of macrons to go, and while I do not enjoy them myself, my family devoured them in moments. I will definitely be back to try more of the tantalizing menu. This macaron and pastry cafe is the absolute cutest. They're closed Monday's, but open 7-7 the rest! I got a box of assorted macarons that ended up being so delicious. Very soft and not hard or chewy, these macarons literally melted in my mouth. I highly suggest getting the mango chili macaron. The almond croissant I got had the most decadent amaretto filling and paired excellently with the hot oat milk latte I got. I wish I came here more since I lived so close to it, but definitely come here for coffee if you're in the area and come out of your way for her macarons! read more

After picking up some groceries for the week, I saw this cute coffee shop on the corner of the street. I stopped to grab a coffee but then ended up also getting a frittata that sounded and then ended up tasting amazing. Wasn't in the mood for macarons or pizza, but knew I needed to go back once I had that fantastic coffee and frittata! There was only one person working, I was thinking it was Alexandras she was so nice and kind. If you are in a rush, I would recommend another coffee shop because I did have to wait some time for the coffee and frittata. There is also no wifi at this coffee shop which I really like because it gives you the opportunity to connect in person with others and also be with yourself. read more

Five stars because this cafe is cute, woman owned, and dog friendly! I came by with a friend for a Valentines Day event they were doing for dogs - they had a photo booth set up and watercolor valentine's day cards to DIY. They even had special dog treats and brought in a local vendor. The space itself is pretty small and a good amount of people turned out for the event, which was so nice to see. I ordered a latte and a twice baked almond croissant for around $15 total, pretty standard Seattle pricing nowadays. The coffee was alright, the croissant was delicious - would order again. Alexandra's is a great neighborhood joint. Lots of families come here before and after school. They sell out of most of their pastries after 11am but they always have plenty of macarons. Service is really good. Everyone who works here is super nice and patient and attentive! Now honest review: Savory danish: 7/10 that day it was a goat cheese and yam flavor. Danish was dry but the flavor was good. Pretty small though (and flat) Sesame bagel w/ spicy garlic cream cheese: 6/10 bagels were so small and flat and super chewy. For the price it wasn't worth it. Garlic cream cheese was pretty good. Lots of raw garlic inside. Vanilla oat latte: 6/10 just average. Coffee isn't a standout The macarons are the show stopper. Any flavor is great. Very cute coffee shop- inside reminded me of inside an air stream for some reason. The shop has some indoor and outdoor seating. They offer various food offerings that really can be meals, as well as normal bakery items and pastries. I got an oat milk latte with a bit of vanilla syrup. I loved this place! After hearing such good things from a friend I decided to visit. I was not disappointed. It's such a cute aesthetic shop with little plants all over. The owner is so friendly. The double chocolate salt has potential, but the salt is overwhelming in some parts (it could be mixed in instead of sprinkled on top). I'm looking forward to trying the black sesame fig next. I'm a little disappointed that they use American buttercream for a lot of their fillings. It's too sweet and doesn't have that silky smooth texture. You walk in and head straight to the large display case to order treats, then around the corner to order drinks and pay. They usually have rotating seasonal flavors, and I especially like the holiday ones. On my last visit, I tried the pumpkin white chocolatte, raspberry Chambord, lemon honey and chocolate sea salt. They're a little pricey compared to other bakeries, but I really like their creative flavor combinations and decorations. The service is friendly and helpful, and I never feel rushed even when I'm being indecisive because everything looks good! I also love that they have tables set up with wine, treats and handmade items so you can put together an awesome gift basket. The speckled ceramic mugs are gorgeous and locally made. Wonderful cafe in a tucked away residential area in the Central District. The space is very welcoming and I love that they highlight and sell local goods as well. The pastry and food offerings are quite impressive. I wanted to try everything! I've visited on a couple of occasions and I've also been impressed with the warm, friendly, and attentive staff and baristas! :) There is an outdoor seating area (in the back) that felt very safe and private for smaller groups. Be fully prepared to gorge hard on carbs, fats, and sugar!!! Their frittata was very similar to a traditional Spanish tortilla and I was delighted to see it donned with chopped herbs, olives, and sour cream. If you're thinking you're not in the mood for a piece of focaccia, you'll be missing out big time. Do get it warmed up bc they do an extra healthy drizzle of olive oil and it is so crispy and tasty. The almond croissant, while not the best I've had, it certainly hits your almondy cravings. Lastly, the macarons are good in size, flavor, and texture. We all have our preferences in macarons and there are some unique flavors that's offered here that I don't see often in other shops. Overall a great little spot for a carb heavy breakfast - it would be nice to see some more protein packed offerings but it hit all the salty, sugary, carby, decadent cravings. read more

Each piece is ~$3 but each piece is bigger than macarons at most places and the flavors, colors and presentation are inviting to foodies for sure (look for her awesome pop pink van to see if she's at your local farmers market or in uour area! P.S. The macarons get a tad cheaper if you buy them in 6+, 12+ or more quantities. I had a really hard time deciding what my fav flavors were...but I guess if i had to pick. The lavender honey was my #1, followed closely by earl grey and pistachio! Only open about one month but absolutely killing it with the macarons in Cap Hill. We stumbled into this spot on a walk with the dog, and saw the sandwich board on the street corner. Cutest little cafe in Central District. Parking isn't too tricky since it's not in a busy area. I've had their macarons, coffee, and pizza. They've got it all. My oat milk lavender latte was delicious. The lemon madeline and macarons were lacking a bit of flavor, but the chocolate one was divine. The pizzas are pretty good! We got 3 different ones and one thing that was lacking was just a pinch of salt to really amp up the flavors. The chili oil isn't enough to add that, IMO. definitely worth checking out!! read more

At 6 for $12, I thought I could give them a try, since the flavors sounded interesting. I bought two Rainbow Funfettis, Strawberry Rhubarb, Coffee Cream, Blueberry Black Tea (I think), and some Orange one. I gave some to my sister and we both agreed they were really good.
