Okay so we have established that all the food at Alexandra's is incredible but I needed to post an update to my review to emphasize this and to remind you to not sleep on their Pizza Queen's Night Thursdays from 3-8pm. Hol-eyyyy sh*t it's so good, rivaling pizza in the state we've driven and waited hours to try. The dough on our two selections were distinct, clearly made in house by these expert bakers and equally delicious. The toppings and flavor pairings were so cravable. The Macarons are $2.50 each or $16 for a half dozen. We picked out two to try, the charcoal honey and the earl grey. The earl grey was a bit too sweet for me, but the honey charcoal macaron was delicious, especially when paired with a sip of coffee right after trying it out. When ordering a half dozen, the Macarons come packaged in a super cute box, but the two of us weren't about to eat an entire half dozen Macarons in the hour we had, so we sufficed with the plastic bag that the two were packaged in. Definitely would try out the other flavors after having that charcoal honey one, especially the lavender flavor that I saw, one of the best dessert flavors in my opinion. The Macarons are also huge, which helps make the price a bit more reasonable, though I still admit that dropping $2.50 on a single dessert does hurt. read more

Where do I even start with this place?! I discovered this place when I visited the Fremont Sunday Market and what attracted me was the beautifully colored macaron and the hot pink van. I immediately went and ordered a box of 6 and I was in flavor heaven. The texture is the perfect balance of crunch and softness, the filling is always fresh, and the flavors are out of this world. I love the guava one and the chocolate one. I honestly love going on Sunday and getting a box of macarons from them. They are always so sweet and always recommend the most delicious ones! We went to Alexandra's at 9am on a Sunday morning. We had a warm greeting and were the only ones there so easily found seats. My Cuban husband was stoked to find that they have a guava and cream cheese pop tart. It was delicious and tasted supppper fresh. I enjoy savory foods, so ordered the focaccia olive bread. Don't come here if you are trying to study or work, apparently it's a device free zone although not advertised at all. I bought a $6 coffee to sit and get some work done and was asked to leave after I pulled out my laptop. Would not recommend these macarons to others, but also wouldn't STOP someone from trying it themselves. The flavors are not right. Flavor is extremely downplayed to the point that it was identifiable. I got the black sesame mission fig as well as the passionfruit lychee because these are some of my absolute favorite flavors, however, there was absolutely no passionfruit OR lychee flavor and I even question if it was filled with the right cream... the black sesame and fig was exactly the same..totally unidentifiable flavor and simply did not taste good. It offers a spacious seating area, as well as a cozy and quaint vibe which is rare to find in capitol hill. The macaroons are delicious and the cafe offers a complementary desert menu. Time and time again, I am always impressed with the quality, consistency, timeliness and professionalism of Alexandra, her team and her business. She has truly perfected the art of making macarons, so much so that I have had them custom made for a couple of special occasions now. These macarons are amazing. I stopped by Miro Tea where they sell a selection of the macarons. I got the Brown Sugar Coconut Shortbread and the PNW Blackberry and Black Tea ones. Wonderful crunch in the cookie and delicious pastry cream without being too sugary. My favorite was the Blackberry and Black Tea - such a fruity flavor that's bright but also warm.
