Pavlova (7/10) - tastes like whipped cream with meringue and a very unique but fresh mango and passion fruit filling. i wasn't a fan of the filling it tasted a bit herby but it wasn't bad. the shape of this dessert is so cute! it's definitely sweet and has an airy texture. Service: Pretty quick, helpful, and sweet. They keep the long line moving while still having a positive attitude Ambiance: Cozy and warm type of feeling at this bakery. Super busy atmosphere because it's so popular and a long line out the door. There's seating but not a whole lot and it's pretty packed. Super cute bakery!

The eclair and custard pastry are of course better cold rather than saving to eat it later. Some of the better macaroons we've had and these are usually not my go-to, but I'd order them again. You can't really see what is offered in the displays up front, so the only downside is folks take longer trying to decide when they get there after waiting in line. They offer self-serve still or with gas water (nice touch, uncommon). We visited on a weekday. I imagine would be more crowded on weekends or holidays so plan your trip accordingly. Parking: off site lots as this place is located in the heart of Pike's Market.

Eschew Wifi-enabled tech-absorption in favor of real conversations, long-form thoughts exchanged with multiple intelligences called for in real human connection, or the simple joy of imagination and day dreaming. I love their decorative little tables facing the quiet Capitol Hill side-street itself not particularly attractive -- but which offers a pause for a bite and a sip without the capitalist rushtime nipping at your heels. I've had their stellar and inventive-flavored macarons, but their cakes are no slouches either. The rose pistachio coffee cake was delectable. I make this place a destination because if I am lucky I can get one of those bay-window tables for a vegetarian quiche or Spanish tortilla washed down by coffee. I noticed the use of fresh herbs and the sense of a good ingredients and home-touch hand with their plates, as opposed to the commonplace, harried, sloppy kitchen production. Their drip coffee was too acidic for my taste (I prefer nutty balanced, chocolatey flavor). Next time I would get a latte. A higgledy-piggledy antique-style bathroom in the back is another sign of a time-hewn, characterful place. The brickwork in their narrow back patio is inviting but on a recent Sunday morning had been snagged for a private party. Finally a note to the artful wall tributes to heroic workers martyrs from U.S. history. The cafe elevates the spirit of care for the working person, which is noteworthy. Counter to the loudest mouthpieces of the modern era that would erase these assassinated/ crushed heroes that fought for the wellbeing and life of working people, you know that it is these heroes' spirit of courage that continues to outshine the capitalist drivel and machine mind of the majority.

It smells so wonderful and warm when you enter and it's really a feast for your eyes. Everything looks so delicious and it's hard to choose. The staff was ver patient with me. My "go to" is the most famous twice baked almond croissant. On this visit ordered the "go to" , blueberry ginger scone, ratatouille sandwich, turkey havarti sandwich, banana bread, and some Americanos to go. This is not a sit down cafe so we thoroughly enjoyed them in the parked car. :) Every bite should be savored. Extraordinary!

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. There was a TON of almond filling in the middle. I enjoyed the taste and texture but it was too much filling for me personally. I would have liked more croissant in my croissant, so to say haha. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.

They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! Buttery flaky layers of dough with a strong earthy mushroom flavor and savory cheese - an absolute umami bomb. We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. It was filled with a blueberry cream and was definitely very filling. There's a lot of sugar coating it, as is standard with cruffins, but it's a nice sweet treat. Definitely coming back for the mushroom and Gruyère pastry and to try their other delicious flavors. Their supreme croissant flavor switches often and we can't wait to try the next one! One of the best bakeries I've been to in Seattle so far.

I originally planned to just grab a coffee and a croissant, but after noticing how popular the mushroom Gruyere croissant seemed, I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. It was incredibly delicious, perfectly filling, and even better when warmed up. The staff member kindly offered to heat it for me, which really elevated the whole experience. While they serve Umbria coffee, which isn't my personal favorite, the food more than made up for it. The service was warm and friendly, and the overall vibe was welcoming. I'll definitely be back to try the mushroom croissant again or maybe explore some of their other pastries next time.
