Gargoyle cake! :)
Nadine W.

Exactly one week ago I emailed BAKED after me & my niece drove by their shop on California Ave. and read their (+) reviews on Yelp. They immediately emailed me back the next day to say they would be able to make a small round Gargoyle raspberry lemonade cake for my sister's birthday, to serve 6-8 people. So after paying $85 via credit card over the phone and being told by the young lady on the phone that I could pick it up the following Tuesday between 2PM-5PM I was happy! :) The only downside was that today (Tuesday) I got an email from Kristina at 3:27PM stating that they had me down for a 2PM pickup and to call her. I immediately called and spoke with Kristina and told her that I was told by a young lady that works there that I could pick it up between 2PM-5PM and was on my way, as I got off work a little after 3PM. My sister loved the cake! :) As did my mother and other close family members. In fact they loved it so much they asked me for the bakery's card (I only had one, lol). They said they intend to have BAKED make a cake for my birthday next month. :)

Amazing cakes! Ordered a cake for our 5 year olds birthday. He wanted the megazord from power rangers dino charge. The attention to detail on this cake is awe inspiring. On top of that it tasted amazing. Thank you so much for making such a special cake for our little boy. He was thrilled! We had to have a conversation about sharing becauae he wanted the whole thing to himself.

8" round, red velvet with cream cheese filling, and rice crispy Crown Royal bottle.
Gina C.

I ordered an 8-inch round cake (red velvet cake with cream cheese filling) with a Crown Royal bottle on top (sculpted out of a rice crispy treat) for my fiancé's surprise birthday party. It was ALL fantastic! My original thought was to get a cake sculpted into the shape of a Crown Royal bottle, but I figured that might be outside of my budget...which understandably it was. After I let the gals at BAKED know that was not in my budget, they were wonderful with coming up with other, more cost effective, suggestions. I sent them a picture of the label and what I wanted the cake to have written on it, and left the rest up to them. All of the party guests loved the cake, and many commented it was one of the tastier cakes they have ever tried. Even the server at the restaurant couldn't resist cutting a piece to try! From ordering to pick-up, it was quick and convenient. The whole process only took a few emails back and forth, and a phone call to finalize and pay. The shop is closed on Sunday and Monday (which is clearly stated on the website), but I always got a quick response when contacting BAKED on any other day. I will definitely get all my cakes from BAKED in the future! We are having BAKED do our wedding cake this coming July...so I'll post an update for that, too!

This was the best birthday cake we had and exactly how I imagined it.Everyone loved it and were asking me where I ordered it.I m so happy and satisfied and it tasted great.I chose the salted caramel flavor with chocolate cake. The details on the cake were insane. The staff were so helpful as well.I am living abroad so I could communicate only by email with them.I send them a sketch of how I imagined the cake and pictures and they made it real. They are not just bakers but artists. Its exactly what you re paying that you get here.I So recommend this place and suggested it to all my friends who asked me yesterday. The cake was crossfit and amazon themed and was perfect. Thank you "BAKED" for the lovely cake.

White cake with a raspberry cream and raspberry jam. SO AMAZING

I never did a cake tasting so I was a little skeptical on how the cake would come out. From seeing previous designs I know the cake will have came out beautiful. I was blown away by the cake! Better than I could have imagined. I ordered vanilla bean cake with raspberry jam and raspberry cream. AMAZING. The cake was moist and everything tasted fresh. I will be back in the future :)

Baked is simply the best in the area! I collaborated with the girls at baked for a special custom made baby shower cake. Everything was done through email and since I live in Miami and baked is in Seattle, I was nervous how the cake would turn out. I was not disappointed!!! They made the ordering process seamless and they assisted in collaborating with what my design idea was. Thank you ladies!!!!

Our gorgeous wedding cake. Tiers of coconut blackberry and lavender lemon.
Caroline G.

Baked made our wedding cake and did an absolutely beautiful job and all of the guest commented on how tasty it was. We went with both the coconut blackberry and lavender lemon. Unfortunately, as the bride I missed eating a piece of it on our wedding night. With my birthday and wedding in the same week, I was pretty disappointed that I didn't get a single piece of cake that week. Knowing how upset I was about this, my new husband asked Baked if they could make a late birthday cake for me and they obliged and even did so at no charge! Their pricing may be a bit higher, but they also include a one year anniversary cake and their customer service makes it absolutely worth it. I am so pleased we went with them for our wedding cake.

Saiah's 1st Birthday 11/26/11

My Sister and I went to Baked to order a cake for my nephew's first birthday. From the very get-go Natalie and Kristina were super pumped and enthusiastic about our vision. We taste tested several types of cakes and were fascinated with how light, yet flavorful each one was. After choosing the flavor, (their white chocolate with raspberry creme is amazing!), we gave them a picture of how we wanted the cake to look like. We were highly impressed with their committment and drive to make our vision come to life. One month later they delivered this 4 tier beauty, on time and unharmed I might add, to our party location and voilà! Our guests were in "awe." The cake was reasonably priced and the quality was superb. Natalie and Kristina exceeded our expectations. We can't thank them enough for their exceptional work and their help in making Isaiah's first birthday that much more special. We highly reccommend Baked for any occasion! Two thumbs up!

Rose gold sugar flower on top of fondant; inside was lemon-poppyseed cake with blackberry fruit preserves

Awesome cakes! The tasting was very helpful so we could pick our favorite flavors. Why not have a wedding cake that looks awesome AND tastes amazing? We had two cakes, a beautiful rose gold cake (lemon poppyseed with blackberry preserves) and a sports theme Groom's cake (double chocolate ganache with raspberry preserves). Everyone really loved them both, and raved about the flavor! So happy to have chosen them for our wedding, thanks again! -Alli & Wyatt 8/18/18

Oktoberfest Birthday Cake!

This company is the real deal. If you want a cake to impress your family and friends, look no further. I've had three cakes made over the past two years and I'm always blown away by what they create. Super friendly staff and amazing bakers (artists). If you have a photo, they can turn anything into a cake. Once you get a cake made here, all other cakes will pale in comparison.

A beautiful and colorful cake that brightened everyone's day!

A delicious and beautiful cake! Thanks for the wonderful customer service. This bright and colorful 8" cake was a huge hit and the perfect touch which helped to brighten everyone's day!

My son LOVED the way his mine craft cake looked!
T Rosa I.

So, I ended up ordering a custom mine craft cake for my son's 9th birthday this year. He wanted a mutant snow golem(yeah I didn't know what this was until I googled it!lol) and 2 regular snow golems on the top of the cake. I was originally referred to The Sweetside in Seattle but they referred me To Baked because they were booked. Like another reviewer stated the communication was great with the Baked staff(I spoke with Christina via email). When I picked up the cake and saw the design it was better than I had imagined! It looked exactly like the photos my son showed me online of what mutant snow golems look like! I knew he would be thrilled! Like another reviewer stated they didn't really have a nice box to put the cake in which I was kind of surprised about since I paid over $300 for this custom cake.lol But, whatever...I was still sprung on the way the cake looked! So, the box is not the reason for the 3 star review. Again, like the other reviewer stated...the cake design was WAY better than the taste of the cake(I ordered the chocolate chip cake with a chocolate buttercream filling)I'm not gonna lie...the cake didn't taste that good and I am a cake person and I LOVE me some cake! It was very dense(which I figured it would have to be to be able to support the heavy mutant snow golems on the top) and kinda dry. I guess I was just expecting it to look great and taste delicious too since I paid so much for it. I really wanted to be able to give a 5 star review because I do like this little bake shop, but the truth is I think if I had the decoration from Baked and the inside tasted like Costco cake it would be better than the cake I bought from Baked. I think that maybe I should have done a cake tasting($25) before ordering. I will be doing that for my oldest sons cake in August for sure.

Team Baked recently designed and baked the perfect 90th birthday cake for my father. My father lived in W Seattle from the time he was 12-13 until graduating from W Seattle High. First job was at the Admiral Theater so only fitting to go back to his W Seattle roots for the celebration. Baked was wonderful to work with and kept the design of my imagination within my budget as well. Thank you all so very much for helping to make this the success it was.

I went with the bestie on a Saturday noon right after eating at Kauai Family Restaurant literally right next door, and there were already people lining up for their pastries, through the line wasn't out the door though it was close. The inside gives the feel of a casual dine-in area for fast food with few tables for 2-4 people while the rest of the space is the kitchen and counter. Staff are up front taking orders and grabbing the stuff you ask for. Small slices of cakes are available, and notices around mention to call ahead of time if you want larger sizes of those same cakes. We both decided to share their rainbow cake, which is a three-layer strawberry, lime and orange along with guava, lime and passion fruit flavored layers on top. Not much to say about this other than despite all these sweet profiles coming together, no one flavor outshined another flavor, and overall cake wasn't too sweet, surprisingly. One slice for $7.45 before tax is oddly huge even for the two of us to finish though, so this cake is definitely not best eaten alone; it's too good for that anyway! My favorite layer was the guava layer for how sweet yet mild it was. I've come back before for birthday cakes, and now I can see myself also coming back casually for their other cakes! Really high recommend for anyone around the area! Just be wary of the very limited parking it shares with Kauai; it gets full during peak hours and I got really lucky finding one right in front of Kauai itself.

It was absolutely delicious, the vanilla and chocolate blended together perfectly to create a light and sweet flavor. And the 6 inch cake is only $44 which is a huge steal compared to other cake shops in Seattle. 4.9/5 I wasn't really a fan of the Rainbow Cake, it didn't really feel like any of the fruity flavors mixed well together and it was quite sweet. 3.5/5 When I called in on Friday for a Monday order, they answered immediately and were very nice; however, when I tried to confirm the order on Monday, it took me 6 calls in a 4 hour span before someone finally picked up. Not a huge deal but that was a little strange to me. 4.8/5

Per the cashier, unlike previous years, where they often sold Paczki for several weeks leading up to the celebration, this year, they will only have them on Tuesday. Apparently every single one is handmade by the owner, Pâtissier William Leaman, and this year, he's been too busy with the 2026 Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie competition as the US team's coach. That's certainly a great excuse! When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon a bit after lunch, this place was still quite busy with a line that stretched to the door, but not outside. As with the Burien location, I find the ordering process to be a bit of a pain; while there are plenty of workers to help, ordering is slowed due to the fact that the display cases are placed in a line and there's not much room in the building to maneuver to the desired display. In our case, while we had someone helping us all the way in the back of the line, we weren't able to select anything until we got all the way to the pastry case in the front. I'm not sure there's a good way to solve this conundrum, though. At any rate, we ended up only getting a single pastry (that was new to us) to try this time. Brown Sugar Pecan Brioche ($5) - This pastry looks like a glistening pecan sticky bun at first glance, with a cinnamon roll-like pinwheel structure and a brown sugar glazed pecan topping. Since it's brioche, I expected it to be dense, but soft, rich, and sweet. This bread is anything but. It's dense, dry, crumbly, almost clay-like in mouthfeel; basically everything brioche should not be. Instead of a sticky caramelized coating over the pecans, the pecans are glued on with only the thinnest of sugar coatings. The pastry doesn't claim to be a sticky bun, so it gets a pass there. Unfortunately the base layer is absolutely terrible, by far the worst "brioche" I've eaten in years. It has all the flavor of hard tack with the unpleasant mouthfeel of Play-Doh. Canned Pillsbury cinnamon rolls are far better than this waste of perfectly good ingredients. The owner should be ashamed to release this swill to the public. (1/5) Why am I giving Bakery Nouveau a 5? Because they serve some of the best twice baked croissants known to man. The Capitol Hill location is my go to for a sweet and buttery treat and I still recommend it to everyone that visits me, specifically for the almond and chocolate twice baked croissants. The paczki are no slouches either; probably the best we can get around Seattle. Bathrooms - Single unisex room. Note: There will be some walk in availability for paczki on Tuesday, but the cashier told me that they will likely sell out by 10AM. Looks like an early morning trip to the Capitol Hill location is in my near future.

Cake descriptions on the website but you have to go in for slice and cupcake availability- you can't pre-order slices. The shop is easy to get to with ample close parking. Inside is cute and industrial. The shop folks were lovely as well, really warm and inviting. We selected 4 slices- malted chocolate, blackout cake, funfetti, and carrot pineapple. All the whole cakes were simply decorated, but beautiful. The hubs said his funfetti cake was okay, but not outstanding. I thought it was more of a white butter cake with nice chewy sprinkles. Delicious, but maybe not the explosion he was expecting. A classic birthday cake, elevated. The blackout cake has a really rich flavor without being overwhelming- a more milk chocolate Matilda cake vibe. The carrot pineapple is pretty much a perfect carrot cake- not spice or nut, but CARROT, in the most beautiful way. The buttercream on the carrot cake is the best I can remember having- butter flavor and a smooth, sweet cream taste. But all those accolades aside- the chocolate malt cake is, simply put, the cake I would go back for. The cake itself is a perfect, moist chocolate malt flavor, without an artificial tasting aftertaste. The frosting is if they made the inside of a malted milk chocolate candy into a light, fluffy buttercream, without the cloying sweetness. I am not a huge sweets person, but cake is a special weakness. This may be the best cakery I've been to- and one I will gladly pay for.

I don't really have a sweet tooth so I was a bit worried that I would find all the pieces too sweet, but I was pleasantly surprised! I came at 4:30pm on a Saturday and a lot of the flavors were unfortunately sold out. I ended up getting a slice of the banana coffee caramel and a slice of lemon cream to share with my boyfriend. My favorite was the banana coffee caramel slice and I will be thinking about this for a long time because it was so good! The coffee cream on top was delightfully bold and it balanced the banana cake taste. The piece was really sweet but I think all of the flavors helped add much needed depth. Both slices of cake were really moist. The lemon cake tasted very classic but I wish it was a bit more tart. The olive oil cake aspect elevated the cake from being a basic lemon cake. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I liked the color scheme of the indoor seating area and I felt that there were a lot of places to sit. The service was to the point and the cake slices were brought out promptly. Overall, this place is great if you have a sweet tooth. The cake is expensive but depending on the flavor you get it could be worth it. I would come back to try the carrot cake and other seasonal flavors!
