Baked was delicious and easy to work with. We did a to-go tasting plate to try four flavors, and chose two of those flavors for cake bites and a small three tier wedding cake. We went with lavender haze and chocolate decadence. Lavender haze was a perfect light flavor and chocolate decadence was so rich and moist. They need serious work on their customer service communication skills. They don't greet you when you walk in and as soon as they see you (appointment was made) they want you out of the bake shop, or so they make it seems like it. This review is about a chocolate decadence cake specifically. Shopping around for a cake for my wedding, the taste test they do is for 6 flavors, 3 flavors for buying a cake test (also limited flavors) which didn't help me since the flavors I wanted to taste were not all included. So we bought a small cake of the flavor we wanted to taste the most and decided to base our opinion on just a regular cake they produced to see the standard for the rest. The cake was good, but it was surrounded by buttercream frosting (or creme if you prefer) everywhere you looked. More than half the cake was frosting and it was not what I was looking for. The frosting was also suppose to be dark chocolate, and it tasted like milk chocolate. The pricing is about on par with other bakery's, maybe a little higher than some. The cake came out really cute with hello kitty picture with white, brown and pink theme however the spread on the top is not really smooth and also my other mistake is order the green tea flavor with vanilla which is not very good, the green tea is super weak, you can barely taste it and the vanilla cream is so heavy. We used Baked. for our wedding cake and i have to say that the cake tasted amazing! Who ever says to a bride, your cake was so good? Cause I usually think wedding cake is gross! I asked for a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling but champagne colored buttercream frosting. They designed it to mimic jewel-drops on each layer like a chandelier since the ballroom we were in had several jewel-dripping chandeliers. I also had them make a cake for 75 (if I did for 100, one of the cakes would have had to be a taller size and I wanted all same height) and they added an additional sheet cake to make it 100 servings. Only 80 people were at reception and we still had the extra sheet and the top layer leftover! I think the cake cutter at my venue cut it super small. Anyways, I mention because I think they offer generous servings. I posted 4 out of 5 stars because I confirmed with them twice that the pedestal I had would work and it ended up not working. That was a huge disappointment. I only showed them pics but they said it would work with what they saw. Also, I think a couple details we discussed for decorations were missing. At the end of the day, my cake tasted great but just looked a little plain to me without my pedestal and the missing details. I would still recommend them, though. One of my best friends threw a baby shower for me last weekend and ordered a cake from Baked. She was visiting from another state so a few weeks before I sent her a list of places in West Seattle that offer cakes or cupcakes. Typically I am not a cake fan because they are often dry with too much sweet frosting or flavorless fondant but cake is an easy dessert for a shower so I went along with it. My friend called around and found that Baked was most likely to provide the desired quality at the desired price point for a shower cake so that is why they were selected. I wasn't part of the design/flavor selection but what was produced was delicious and fun looking. The cake was a moist vanilla cake with pomegranate icing in between the layers. It was decorated in a fun green color with multicolor polka dots and blue glitter edged label.
