I bought a Groupon that I tried to use today at Baked. and they are not honoring any more Groupons despite the fact that I called within the 1 week advanced notice prior to the Groupon expiring. Apparently, everyone else had the same idea and they are swamped with filling orders. I offered to pick the cake up at a later date but they said it has to be picked up by 11/19 (when the Groupon expires) even though that detail is not listed in the "fine print". Quite frankly, it is not my problem that they do not have the bandwidth to honor the product that I paid for even though I tried to be flexible with them on when I get the cake. In my opinion, this is bad business practice and therefore they will never have my business. On the upside, Groupon refunded my money which was the right thing to do! read more

Pretty disappointed with my cake from here. I ordered a confetti cake and specified how I wanted the cake decorated. The woman I spoke to was super helpful and answered all of my questions, so 5 stars for the customer service. The disappointing things were: first, I wanted my cake to be frosted a light pink, however the frosting was basically white with the slightest tinge of pink. Maybe that was my mistake but I did send a picture of the color I liked. Second, the taste...the cake was not good, for several reasons. A) the "confetti" cake that I ordered had like 5 pieces of confetti, not a lot at all. B) the icing...I requested vanilla buttercream and this tasted nothing like any buttercream I've had before. It tasted a lot more like whipped cream...VERY disappointing. C) the cake itself...dry and overall not that tasty. I spent around $100 for this cake and quite frankly I think I could have gotten something a lot better from somewhere a lot cheaper. read more

My cake was more beautiful than I had expected based on the design I described to them. They definitely improvised on my ideas after getting a sense of my taste. I was really happy about this! They also did a phenomenal job working within my budget. The taste was average at best. The texture was inconsistent throughout my cake and quite dry. This was likely due to the primary reason for 2 stars. They gave me a box that didn't fit the cake in it all the way. My design had beautiful flowers on top which would have been ruined if I tried to close the box. The sides of the box were made of very flimsy and thin cardboard so I could really only hold the box from the bottom. I couldn't touch the sides of it and it wouldn't close at the top. It stayed open the entire day until the event in the evening and this likely dried out my cake. It was very difficult to stabilize the box without touching the sides while transporting it. Bottom line, the looks of my cake was by far the best part of it and that was compromised by the flimsy box they gave me to take it home in. I really don't know if I will be going back to this place. Probably one of the worst wedding cakes I have ever had. Supposedly lemon cake with raspberry cream filling... Can you say DRY...? apparently most of the other guests agreed since the majority of them didn't eat it. Yuck! (Oh... It was also covered with fondant that was thick and hard.) Everyone at our wedding loved our cake. People actually came up to me at the wedding to tell me how much they enjoyed the cake. We were able to bring the leftover cake home and my daughter asked if she could take some to school! The look of the cake and the taste both exceeded my expectations, I highly recommend them. read more

I found their company through The Knot-- they were able to make a wedding cake on short notice and were reasonably priced ($4 or $5 per slice, I think, which was definitely less than other companies I looked at). During the tasting, they were friendly and asked a ton of questions to make sure they knew what we wanted. The flavors we tried at the tasting were delicious-- I actually didn't eat any of it the night of the wedding, but it looked great and other people seemed to like the way it tasted. read more

Our dear friend ordered a cake through Baked for our party. It was amazing. It was at least 6 layers of white and salted caramel cake. It was absolutely delicious and the hit of the party. The ladies at Baked made a delicious and beautiful coconut cake with mango butter cream frosting for me and my partner's wedding. After seven years, you want to celebrate in style and FLAVOR! It was a beautiful wedding, and although we were advised to purchase a small cake for only 50 guests, we ended up going for the 75 serving cake, just in case. Turns out Baked needs to up sell, because when you make a cake that good, all the guests are happy (and their tummies) and there is just enough to go around. We ended up coming home with a few servings, so we should have gotten an even bigger cake! Darn, that was good. Our neighbors had some too as a way to thank them for taking care of our house and "kids" (dogs). One neighbor said she was going to eat just half, and save the rest for breakfast, but she ended up eating the entire thing in one sitting (and it was a big piece of cake). The other neighbor had a friend over to share it (who is a professional pastry chef), and said that the pastry chef wants to know Baked's secrets! Yum! This is buy far the best bakery in the City! I've been a sweet tooth person all of my life and have travelled near and far for the bakery that would satisfy me everytime...and now I can rest and die comfortably. BAKED is 5 stars all around from the baked goods, the amazing cakes, the friendly staff, and cleanliness of the establishment. The first time I went into BAKED was years ago, my favorite aunt just passed away and I was in charge of purchasing a cake for her celebration party. I went to a handful of other stores in the area and all turned me away or said they wouldn't be able to make one for weeks due to it being wedding season. Kristina and Dennis first of all said, "We are very sorry for your lost and welcomed me in with a hug." With that, I was already sold on this place, due to them being very understanding and humble. They said they too were busy with an extraordinary amount of wedding cakes, but promised they would get something magical made and ready by the time of the party. They succeeded! I raved about them and passed out cards to family and friends and all of them were very impressed and are also die hard BAKED affiliates. BAKED rocks and I am a local at this establishment, until the day I die! read more

I was treated to a BAKED cake tasting on a recent visit to Seattle and I was SO impressed. Not only was the cake ridiculously delicious, but these girls are very creative...I've never seen anything like it! They had several cakes in progress over Halloween and they truly looked like artwork. When I looked at their portfolio to see what sorts of designs they have done in the past, I got the feeling they could make any specialty cake design a possibility. Pretty cool that they use local and fresh ingredients whenever possible, too. I wish they could ship to Colorado...we have nothing remotely like this available to us where I live. :( Thanks for letting me stop in and see what you do there at BAKED. I ordered an overly sparkly (on purpose) St. Patrick's Day cake with leprechauns, shamrocks, pot-of-gold AND a rainbow from Baked and it was WONDERFUL!! The decoration was better than my hopes and the cake itself was amazingly good...white cake with salted caramel filling. The cake was well priced, gorgeous and delicious-I will definitely order from them again and again. read more

The ladies of Baked have earned a special place in the heart of my family as they helped make my sister's 18th birthday special and memorable! I had to coordinate the cake order from NYC where I live, and after calling multiple bakeries I started to get nervous that I wouldn't be able to find a bakery to take on the task! Baked was the only bakery that called me back, and once the ladies heard what I had in mind they helped me efficiently and easily get everything all set up in time for her cake to be the centerpiece of her family dinner! What's more, the cake was BEAUTIFUL exactly like the picture I had emailed them and really exquisite in person, a 4 layer cake with ombre cake (from white to pink) and covered in frosting roses that went from light pink to dark pink also in an ombre coloring. It was affordable, timely, and all in all I would use Baked for any special occasion I have in the future! read more
