I ordered a custom cake from here. It was fabulous and looked exactly how I wanted. Pick up was seamless. Staff is friendly and the space is clean.

Custom cakes are the highlight. Tried some of the cakes. The taste-wise, it was not unique just the typical.

The sweet treats are so beautiful and precise, you can't say no! They have cookies, dipped Oreos, cupcakes, custom cakes and more. A must-try in Kenmore.

Wow they make the items homemade. GF and Vegan options are available. Great service and atmosphere. Easy to get in and out . Plenty of parking, smells delicious makes you want them all. The clerk has a favorite Salted Caramel Cupcake (next time) they are open 7 days a week. I recommend

If you look at the reviews on my profile, I leave nothing but good reviews for places. It hurts me to leave my first bad review but I have to warn others about my really disappointing experience. I have had their Vegan Vanilla Raspberry cupcakes in the past and had thought it was a good idea to order a Vegan GF Birthday Cake for my mom's birthday. My family has been Vegan/GF for many years and know the cakes can be dense. I picked up the cake yesterday and brought it to my moms birthday party At my mom's birthday party nobody could eat this cake. Just by looking at the cake, and shortly After one bite, everyone at the party agreed the cake was INEDIBLE. It was BEYOND dense. It appeared undercooked, from the appearance/discoloration of the cake and texture. Moral of the story, my mom and none of my family members got to enjoy this cake. We still had 98% of the cake at the end of the party. The owner basically had to say so sorry, but that is how it is made. She said it wasn't undercooked but it doesn't change the fact it was beyond dense, INEDIBLE and no one got to eat this expensive cake. I live far away, atleast a 40 minute drive to her establishment and she asked me to come in to inspect it but would still would not offer any kind of help. No reimbursement, fully or partial, she didn't offer to remake the cake. She showed no real care on the fact we spent $66 on this not so big cake. That we could not eat. Her lack of care and way she went about this was so rude. It made my mom's birthday memorable in a bad way. I want people to know how she went about this. This is not okay! We lost money and did not get to eat the cake and this is the response we get. Photos of the cake and conversation with the owner attached. I am sure she will reply to this! She will try to defend herself but it won't change what happened. She didn't make anything right Instead offered for me to spend more of my time, energy and gas money for me to come back in and for her to "inspect" the cake. No refund offered. It felt like she had No empathy or care towards my word on what happened to us. Ridiculous. She left a bad taste in our mouths, Literally. The way she made us feel after not being able to eat her product was not fair. It felt and still feels horrible! What a shame. I advise others like me who don't have much money to spend but wanted to do something nice, to Go take a look at her other bad reviews too on her platforms before you do business with her and possibly not get money back on inedible product. I should've checked her reviews sooner. I just saw a review from a customer of hers last week complaining of mold on their dessert! With photo proof. If you do your research on her responses to negative reviews, not in all cases but in most of them it seems like she is more interested in defending herself and being "right" than just making it fair with others who had a terrible experience.

    Vintage Heart Birthday Cake

They did an amazing job with this birthday cake, and nailed the color as well! Definitely the most expensive birthday cake I've ever bought but 100% worth every penny! I went with the signature chocolate with ganache which was really good! Definitely recommend!

I was super happy to try some cake trimmings, who doesn't love cake!? Unfortunately I was not a fan of this one. I tried it right when I got it and it was cold and didn't taste right so I figured that was my bad for not waiting for it to come to room temperature. I tried again later. No good. I only shared half a slice before giving up on the rest. The frosting didn't taste as sweet and delicious as you'd expect a cake to taste. Honestly it was a little salty and bland. So I ate around the frosting for just cake. Also a miss. I was shocked and disappointed. Edit: I did try these slices for a fraction of the price and fully expected it to just be a sample of what they offer. If that's what the cake regularly tastes like, then I cannot recommend anything else and would not try more. Cake is cake and even grocery store cake tastes like frosting and cake a few days later. I do think if they don't want their cake trimming to reflect their products, then it shouldn't have been offered.

    Wildflower Smash Cake

We ordered a wildflower-themed smash cake for our daughter's first birthday and they exceeded expectations! The wildflower design was delicate and beautiful. The vanilla cupcakes with wildflower frosting were also done to perfection and the pink and gold cake pops were adorable and tasty. I'm so glad there was so cake left from my daughter's smash, we've been nibbling at it and it's delicious too!

My brother, who also lives and works in the area, tells me constantly how awful the customer service is there when you order food- to the point where he refuses to go. I'm celiac and can't eat anything over there so I hadn't ever experienced what I did today. Today we're at the bookstore together and I decided we need to make a coffee stop. My brother, Loren, orders a sandwich. He says he needs it to go. Person at the register is pleasant enough. I order a coffee separately and am quickly served. We wait a bit for the sandwich, and we finally go up to the counter after maybe ten minutes and see the same sandwich he ordered sitting in a basket. It has a ticket on it that says "Owen." Easy mistake, really. He says, "Is this maybe Loren's?" And the person behind the counter immediately snaps "it says Owen." Okay. So we wait a few more minutes. We're now 15 minutes out and several people who ordered after us are served. He steps up and say "hey, I ordered a BLTA on sourdough for Loren, I think it may have been put in under Owen, but-" and before he can finish his thought they snap back at him again "it's probably yours because this one hasn't been picked up." At this point he's like, "okay, I ordered mine to go- could I-" and the girl behind the counter slams a box on the counter and says "here's a box." And turns away. I'm annoyed, because while I understand we have inconvenienced you, who is standing here chatting with an off-duty coworker for 30 minutes, we literally did nothing to deserve the attitude. Loren scoops the sandwich out of the basket and puts it into the box and this girl has the nerve to turn around and say "dirty dishes go behind you at the service bar." Oh, so now we have to bus YOUR hand-off bar, too? No sorry, no thank you, not even the offer to box up his food or put away the freaking basket. Is it because Loren is very clearly not white? Or is it because this lady today had a bad day and took it out on someone for interrupting her mid-shift gossip about how the mall security is full of idiots who don't do their job? Go ahead and take a gamble and let me know, because I won't be back.

This is the most popular food vendor in the store as it is located right in the front of the building. Way better than Starbucks. They serve Victrola coffee here. My favorite is their London Fog latte. They also have some good food options. You can get breakfast of course. Grab one of their many pastries and/or breakfast sandwiches. You can also grab lunch, as they have many sandwich, salad, and soup of the day options. My favorite food items are the deluxe croissant and the meat pie. One the negative, I will say that they have raised the prices on many of their items. The meat pies have gone up to almost 8 bucks for one, so I stopped buying it. As far as their baked goods, there are other better bakeries out here. The team is really good at making the items appealing and pretty, but once you taste it, you might be underwhelmed or even disgusted. My mom and I shared a slice of their black and white cake and we quickly realized that they use shortening for frosting. My mom and I both cook/bake, so we instantly knew once we tasted it. We decided to eat around the shortening and only ingest the cake. After we ate the cake, we were left with solid blocks of shortening, and realized that the cake to shortening ratio was way off. It was actually disgusting. If you like to munch on sweetened saturated fat, then you will like this cake. I would never order one from here knowing what they use to make their frosting. I will stick to my London Fog and other favorites.

Here's the thing: IT USED TO BE REALLY GOOD. And then, about a year ago, the amazing, ground-breaking chef followed his lady love to California. Aaaand it all tanked after that. I feel that integrity was lost after the switch. The knowledge and principles that made this place special are no longer present. Okay, it's still a fine school cafeteria. And it is tweaked in some of the ways that a cafeteria should be at a school of Naturopathic Medicine. But it also now propagates the general belief that eating vegetarian means eating tofu and/or pasta with every meal, which is patently false. Also, dinner now = sandwich bar, which, I would imagine, is an unpleasant surprise for anyone lured in by the advertising. The relative pros are that the soups are often allergen free and the desserts really are good, particularly considering most of them are in some way allergen free or vegan. (The head baker has not changed.) I would not recommend anyone, who is not part of the captive market, coming here. Seattle is a big, liberal city and you can find something to meet your dietary needs in a venue with more of a need to compete.

I've put off reviewing the store for several years because it's my neighborhood Safeway and I want…read moreit to be successful. So this is overdue. First, make sure to be on the lookout for rotten food, especially produce. On a pick up order. I once got a bag of spinach with green liquid in the bottom that was two weeks expired. More recently I accidentally bought a bag of lemons, most of which were so rotten that my finger poked through one when I reached in the bag. I've also seen packaged goods on the shelf well past their expiration dates. You'll want to check your receipt carefully, as well. I've never been one to do that, but have had to learn to with this store. On my most recent trip, I bought 14 items and was overcharged a total of $8.50 on four of them. First they ask if you clipped all the coupons, as though their mistakes must be the customers' fault. Adding insult to injury, you have to return to the store to get back the money they've effectively stolen. Since this happens so often, you have to wonder if they're really mistakes, or just part of the business plan...because they're just not making enough profit on the already obscenely expensive prices? Finally, last Thanksgiving, I visited the meat department to buy turkey parts rather than a whole bird. When I could find none, I asked a very nice meat department employee who said she was told "if we do it for one person then we have to do it for everyone." ??? I called back later and was told it was just a misunderstanding with a new employee. But again, I had to go back to the store a second time, time, frustration, and gas on me. In general, the customer staff are great and I feel sorry for them having to deal with so many screw ups they likely didn't create. However, when I asked how there could be such old spinach on the shelves and how it made its way into in my order, the answer I got was, "Just laziness to be honest," So maybe I'm being generous. Anyway, shop here at your own peril, check the produce and expiration dates carefully, and review your receipt before going home to save yourself a second trip. Even though it's a hassle, I now go to a different store whenever possible
