Tried this truck while at Seattle Street Festival in Capitol Hill last week. We went and shared $5 double scoop sesame and thai tea ice cream (flavors available were durian, Coconut --dairy free) and the taste was delicious! I'm from Thailand so I particularly appreciate the fact that this local business is own by a Thai person and focuses on bringing different Thai/SE Asian ice cream flavors to its customer! :) The ice cream was great...looks like a fresh batch. The lady was a bit slow to serve because she wanted to ensure she scoops a large enough serving for us...but their ice cream is worth waiting for an Authentic Thai taste. read more

I'm attending an event in the International District tonight and Pink's will be there. I thought it would be a good time to weigh in on my experience. Okay, so I'm lactose intolerant. Big deal. I eat ice cream from time to time and Pink's is on my list. My favorite flavors are black sesame, thai tea, and coconut. I have to say that I'm not a big fan of durian, but it's not the ice cream - it's durian that I have a problem with. Everyone working there is always super friendly and of course, more than willing to give you a sample of everything to make your choice easier. They also sell pints at a few select places in Seattle. My one time visiting this place was during the ID's food walk event for the Chinese New Year celebration. There was a long line which was to be expected and they handled the crowd efficiently. I asked about a couple different flavors before deciding on the black sesame which was very much like peanut butter just like the girl said it would be. I was so excited to have found Pink's Ice Cream at the International District street fair. It was the unique Asian flavors that captured my attention. Durian ice cream???!!! I couldn't pass on the opportunity. (Thailand nostalgia!) I don't know of any other Seattle Ice cream business that offers Durian. It was so good that I returned to eat 2 more scoops and also take 6 scoops to go. In my hand I held three cups of ice cream while my husband drove back to Renton. Each cup had 2 scoops of melting Durian ice cream. Can you imagine how that smelled? Mmmm... Mmmm...Good! I wanted to share my magical experience with my mother and brother, AKA durian fanatics. This could have been a once in a life time opportunity in Seattle. The good new is that Pinks is local business and is now available at grocery stores. I've also tried the green tea, Thai ice tea, and the black sesame. They were also really good. Pinks Ice cream is quality ice cream. I appreciate that it is not intensely sweet and overpowering. Ventured to the Seattle Night Market last night, and the first thing I had was a small cup of Pink's coconut ice cream. OMG!! It was amazing, so full of flavor and although dairy free, it was still so so so good! After my first bite, I wished that I had ordered the large so I savored every bite and lick of the spoon. They had various toppings and I chose the fresh jackfruit. Couldn't go wrong. They were very friendly, and explained the different flavors and toppings, although the line was crazy long, they didn't rush me. All flavors were unique to the Asian palate, I was even tempted to try to Durian. They didnt have the Thai Tea flavor available at this event but i will definitely be looking for their products in the frozen food aisle at the stores. It is that freaking good!! read more

With a rich flavor of sesame and a great blend of sweet and creaminess, Pink's Black Sesame flavor is delicious and the best out there. No more wasting my money on ice cream at Din Tai Fung! I was so excited to see Pink's Ice Cream in the Freemont Sunday Market. What a perfect treat to a bike ride. There were 4 flavours- Thai Tea, Mango, Coconut, and Black Sesame. Brady was stuffing so much ice cream in the cone that the cone broke. I told him that was fine, perhaps put it in a cup as I hate to waste especially sweet treats like ice cream! He managed to salvage a scope, and to my horror, threw out the rest. Anyway, he was kind enough to start over again, and joked that he was testing the limitations of the cone. The coconut tasted like what I would find at Molly Moon's. It had fresh coconut milk. The mango was a disappointment. It did not have have much flavour. I was curious about the durian ice cream, and stopped by Uwajimaya in ID, but they were sold out. Can't wait to try it. It's hard to find good durian ice cream.
