For the last place I took my bestie to before he had to leave Seattle and drive across the state, we came here on a Thursday night around 7:30pm to have some more dessert after already having milk tea. Yup, you're gonna get full when you're with me! Anyway, there was a line out the door for their ice cream, in which they offer many kinds of flavors of ice cream, some which tempted the two of us. No table seating inside, just a bench or two deeper near the back if you wanted to enjoy your ice cream inside. We tried several kinds when we got to the front, and eventually settled for one scoop of sakura ice cream and another of toasted black sesame. Both ice cream scoops had a smooth consistency to them and were strongly flavored. Sakura had a strong strawberry base, and black sesame already had a strong aroma before the scoop got to my hand at the register. Ice cream surprisingly did not melt too fast despite the day being quite warm so that's a plus. We ate at the wooden tables not too far from the U District light rail station. Great ice cream and an ample number of flavors to try. I'd come back to try more of their rotating flavors! read more

Definitely pricey and a splurge but is it worth it? Heck yeah! I love ice cream and gelato and I've even had Tillamook ice cream at the creamery in Oregon many times and this ice cream at sweet alchemy is some good ice cream. They do give samples if you have a hard time making up your mind like me lol which is very appreciated. They also allow half scoops! I ordered one scoop in a waffle cone and chose half scoop dark side(yummy chocolate) and half scoop Persian rose. So tasty. Dark side is everything I want in a chocolate ice cream, thick, dark chocolate, and oh so good. Persian rose is light in flavor but so tasty with hints of obvious rose and pistachio. Honestly dark side and Persian rose were the perfect combo. ....Yes, as you can see in my photo I am the person who bites into their ice cream lol mind ya business and don't judge...just a girl enjoying her ice cream :) I've walked by sweet alchemy so many times and it always has a line out the door, so I am sooo happy to have given it a try finally. One of the best ambiance ice cream shops I've been to! The place is well decorated and organized. I really liked the theme of the shop. There's not much seating here unfortunately The ice cream was good! I had their limited edition Makgeoli and it was sooo good. Sweet, tasty, and refreshing on a warm day. I had mine with brownies and chocolate syrup with it was it was pretty enjoyable. Service was great. Employees are very nice and helpful and they prepare the ice cream quickly. We were looking for a sweet treat nearby and stumbled on this place at the street corner. The inside is pretty small but has so many cute decorations and some unique flavors. Strawberry - I wanted something fruity and this tasted very fresh and was so creamy. The strawberry flavor came through and I enjoyed it despite the steeper price. We heard the staff explaining that they get their milk from a local farm and we wondered if that was what made a difference in the ice cream texture as well. Bought the sweet cream and the toasted sesame. Both were delicious, but the "base" ice cream is a big either icy/chalky from the way it's made or the way the nonfat milk powder is incorporated. It's an intriguing texture (think large emulsification with bigger balls of ice and fat rather than a completely homogenous texture). I bought it from La Pasta, straight from the freezer, so I don't think it had melted prior or been mishandled. Molly Moon's sweet cream has milk powder, but isn't gritty like this, but maybe it's because of the gum and emulsifiers they add? read more

i genuinely am not a huge fan of ice cream, but this spot was SO good! for starters, you can add as many flavors as you want into any size cup of your choice, i went with thai iced tea, banana nutella crunch, and sweet cream. thoroughly enjoyed the unique flavors and variety here, and the ice cream had a great texture and taste! staff was super friendly and helpful, and while i wish there was seating inside, the ambiance is really cool (check out my photos) ice cream was definitely what i'd consider expensive for the sizes, but if you're looking for a sweet treat, or even sharing one perhaps -- i can see it having decent value. it is also a quintessential seattle spot to try with tons of unique flavors, so id factor that into the price as well. but overall, massive points for having unique flavors that taste good, being not overly sweet or overpowering, having great texture, and making this frozen custard / froyo lover thoroughly enjoy his ice cream :) would recommend! definitely a spot to come and try. overall: 9/10 taste: 10/10 price: 8/10 rounding to 5 stars cause they deserve it :) read more

I love sweet alchemy. LOVE. They have so many extra flavors that are available as pints that are must haves. I think my favorite is probably the fig honey crumble, I love that many of their flavors have hints of tea & herbs. We tend to get pints everytime! They also recycle back their pint glasses for $1 off if you bring it back. Pretty easy to complete a stamp card (one stamp per $5 purchase, and ten stamps gets you $5 off!) when you order by the pint. Would recommend ordering online if you can. read more

We got two ice cream sandwiches and it was the ratio of cookie to ice cream that I'd change a bit. The thickness of the chocolate chunk cookie smooshed the ice cream so it was oozing out all sides but the monster cookie didn't have the same thickness to force the sweet cream out everywhere. The mint ice cream was a bit too minty and not enough chip but the sweet cream was a nice flavor with the chosen cookies. Later my blood sugar spiked so I know it had a bunch of sugar inside. Stumbled across this bookmarked establishment after a long day of playing in the sun. Early afternoon on Friday wasn't busy as expected. The flavors are unique and they give you a small scoop of all the flavors fitting into the serving size ordered. Daughter had cookies and cream, and monster flavor. She couldn't decide which was her favorite. Both winners in her book! I tried the waffle bowl, banana Nutella crunch (so good), fig honey crumble (amazing!), and the strawberry rhubarb pie (lacked flavor in comparison to everything else in my bowl). The waffle bowl was light, crunchy, and fresh! The best I've ever had. Customer service was friendly, but unfortunately they aren't offering tasters. That could complicated things with such unique flavor profiles. If you're adventurous, no problem! However kids are picky. Thank you for having something they're familiar with (cookies & cream). They also offer so many other tasty looking treats: ice cream sandwiches, macarons, cupcakes, temping lavender shortcake cookies, and more!
