I went to Sweet Alchemy Ice Creamery twice during my Seattle visit - once on Friday night and again Saturday night because I had such a great time here Friday night. A 5 stars experience for sure... but my Saturday night experience was a 3 stars at best. Stopped by here to check it out on a Friday before drinks, and it smelled so good and the flavors looked very interesting. Asked when they closed and they said 11PM. Perfect. Came back after a few cocktails and tried some flavors and settled with chai, London fog, and honey ice cream in a waffle cone. So darn good! Love how they can mix flavors regardless of size. The second night, I went back after a friend's wedding. The shop didn't smell as nice as it smelled more of the cleaning process, sort of a dirty mop or something. Their flavors changed which was pretty cool. I tried their strawberry matcha ice cream and that was a bit disappointing. Tried the sweet cream and that was good so I got the chai and London fog again cause I loved it from the night before and added the sweet cream flavor. Somehow it just didn't taste as great as Friday night. Was it the smell of the place too? Something... maybe I was already sober? I don't know. Service was great and I loved the signs and decor here as well. Love the alchemist theme as well. Would come back to try some new flavors though!
I don't like ice cream, but I like this ice cream. That should say a lot! The shop itself is small, but the interior of this is really nice and quaint. The service was really great as the worker patiently let us try samples and pick our choices. I proceeded with sweet cream. Think elevated vanilla. I was looking to share it with my friend (not an ice cream lover), but it was delicious! I regret not getting my own!
Small shop, ice cream flavors that we tried are berry black sesame and banana Nutella. Both were really good not too sweet
I think they have gotten better the past few years with having some more unique vegan options. I still wish they had more than 2 dairy free items but I get that it's maybe not that popular. The service is always very friendly. They weren't too busy when we stopped in but we still got ours to go because we like to walk. I love the little dog treat jars and the quirky decor though.
Nice ice cream place in the Avenue near University of Washington. It is also close to the train station. It great to get a scoop before boarding the train. The store is about 4.5 stars. I like the choice of the flavors. The flavor s include vegan, Persian rose, London fog, banana Nutella, and more. I like the London fog. This is the one to have. Price is reasonable average. Space probably has 8 people to sit location on the bench.
For the last place I took my bestie to before he had to leave Seattle and drive across the state, we came here on a Thursday night around 7:30pm to have some more dessert after already having milk tea. Yup, you're gonna get full when you're with me! Anyway, there was a line out the door for their ice cream, in which they offer many kinds of flavors of ice cream, some which tempted the two of us. No table seating inside, just a bench or two deeper near the back if you wanted to enjoy your ice cream inside. We tried several kinds when we got to the front, and eventually settled for one scoop of sakura ice cream and another of toasted black sesame. Both ice cream scoops had a smooth consistency to them and were strongly flavored. Sakura had a strong strawberry base, and black sesame already had a strong aroma before the scoop got to my hand at the register. Ice cream surprisingly did not melt too fast despite the day being quite warm so that's a plus. We ate at the wooden tables not too far from the U District light rail station. Great ice cream and an ample number of flavors to try. I'd come back to try more of their rotating flavors!

They have some of my staple favorites like London fog and capitol coffee but I tried banana Nutella crunch and vegan lemon pie today and both were incredible. It's a small storefront but perfect location on the Ave. the pico size is a great treat size but it is quite a small scoop for the price. The next size up is usually a better deal.

I went to Sweet Alchemy on a Sunday evening. I walked over to the store so I didn't have to worry about parking. There was a short line when we arrived, but the wait wasn't too long. The employees were very friendly & kindly let us try samples of the various options. I appreciate the unique & delicious flavors offered! After a difficult decision, I opted for a small cup of the darkside & the banana nutella crunch. This is my second visit to Sweet Alchemy & I was glad to see that their ice cream was as scrumptious as ever. I look forward to my next visit!
Definitely pricey and a splurge but is it worth it? Heck yeah! I love ice cream and gelato and I've even had Tillamook ice cream at the creamery in Oregon many times and this ice cream at sweet alchemy is some good ice cream. They do give samples if you have a hard time making up your mind like me lol which is very appreciated. They also allow half scoops! I ordered one scoop in a waffle cone and chose half scoop dark side(yummy chocolate) and half scoop Persian rose. So tasty. Dark side is everything I want in a chocolate ice cream, thick, dark chocolate, and oh so good. Persian rose is light in flavor but so tasty with hints of obvious rose and pistachio. Honestly dark side and Persian rose were the perfect combo. ....Yes, as you can see in my photo I am the person who bites into their ice cream lol mind ya business and don't judge...just a girl enjoying her ice cream :) I've walked by sweet alchemy so many times and it always has a line out the door, so I am sooo happy to have given it a try finally. Small interior so it's easier to sit out front at the nearby outdoor benches. Since it's pricey I won't visit often but it's definitely a place I could see myself stopping by on a hot summer day. I would recommend the dark side and Persian rose! So yummy!
One of the best ambiance ice cream shops I've been to! The place is well decorated and organized. I really liked the theme of the shop. There's not much seating here unfortunately The ice cream was good! I had their limited edition Makgeoli and it was sooo good. Sweet, tasty, and refreshing on a warm day. I had mine with brownies and chocolate syrup with it was it was pretty enjoyable. Service was great. Employees are very nice and helpful and they prepare the ice cream quickly. The pricing here is more on the expensive side though. That's the biggest con for me.
We were looking for a sweet treat nearby and stumbled on this place at the street corner. The inside is pretty small but has so many cute decorations and some unique flavors. Strawberry - I wanted something fruity and this tasted very fresh and was so creamy. The strawberry flavor came through and I enjoyed it despite the steeper price. We heard the staff explaining that they get their milk from a local farm and we wondered if that was what made a difference in the ice cream texture as well. I would come back to try some of their other flavors.

After a pretty spicy Korean lunch in the U District, we popped into Sweet Alchemy to cool down our taste buds and see what they had. This was our first visit, and I liked that the selection was small but full of unique flavours. It made choosing a little more interesting! The standout was the Persian rose, with cardamom and pistachio. It reminded us of Indian milk barfi, and my husband said it also brought back memories of an Indian ice cream dessert he had growing up. Really delicious and clearly nostalgic enough for him to order THREE scoops. I was surprised by his ambition! He didn't finish them, so we saved the rest in our freezer, and I happily took care of the leftovers later. I tried the Korean makgeolli ice cream and black sesame which sounded interesting but didn't really hit for me. The vegan strawberry, however, was really good! Something about vegan ice cream makes me feel like it must be a little healthier, which is probably just the story I tell myself while eating dessert. The person helping us was super friendly, helpful, and happy to let us take our time. We were the only customers there during our visit, so it felt very relaxed. There's no seating inside the shop, but there are places to sit outside. The surrounding area felt a little sketchy to us during our visit, so we opted to take our ice cream to go. Overall, a nice little stop for friendly service and flavours you don't see everywhere. The Persian rose would absolutely be worth getting again! read more

Visited this adorable ice cream shop today, they had delicious unique flavors! Quick and friendly service with no wait :) They also have teas and coffees and cupcakes. I loved how you could get multiple flavors in their smallest sized cup. read more
Love their ice cream! My husband and I went first tried their location in Cap Hill and saw this one! This location is great because you can sample one flavor. Service was friendly and patient while we made our choices. The inside is also a lot bigger and they have more options and things to choose from. We had the sweet cream and the Makgeolli flavor both very yummy! read more

Great tasting ice cream! Charming little corner cafe in the u-district with staple and seasonal flavors, and they have bakery items as well. Very nice employees at the front with welcoming demeanors and good recommendations. Definitely stop by if you are in the neighborhood and looking for a nice treat. read more

In a word - Yummers! I have not come across such a wide variety of unusual flavors. But first the ambience. Charming, clean, with attention to detail. The staff are friendly and provide thorough information regarding flavor profiles. They do not offer samples, but will put several scoops into one cup. I tried black sesame (wow - so different!), Persian rose (a delicate perfume), and Sakura which was a tribute to the cherry blossom festival. The line moves quickly (even foe those of us WIP are indecisive) and pricing is fair. I'll be back! read more
Visiting family in SEA and the kids of the group had a craving for Ice Cream. This spot was one stop away on the subway from where we were staying. It's located in the University District. I'm assuming because it's close to the University of Washington???... This area has A TON of small, diversified dining options. Whatever you're craving, a walk up or down these multiple blocks and you're sure to find something that satisfies your cravings. Sweet or Savory. I was full from eating beforehand. I just went along for the walk. Upon arrival however, I couldn't help ordering a cookie sandwich after seeing my niece's lol! They also had such fun flavors, I had to get something. I opted for Aztec Chocolate & Makgeolli. I thought the scoops were small at first, but it was just the right amount for the cookie sandwich and took my capacity of being full from dinner to feeling overstuffed. I almost could not finish it. Such a cute spot. Wish I could have tried more flavors! read more
Located on University Ave, this ice cream shop offers small batch vegan and regular ice cream flavors. I ordered the vegan lemon pie and persian rose a waffle cup. I also ordered a shortbread cookie on the side. It came out to $16.99 with a 15 percent tip. Pros: -ice cream (vegan and non vegan) were both delicious Cons: -no indoor seating- take out only. Charming and cute ice cream shop in the university district. The staff was very friendly and talked a bit about their shop and their ice creams. They have really interesting and unique flavors. It's my first time here and I chose the Persian rose flavor, it was simply divine . It reminded me of the ice creams I used to get in India (kulfi). I love sweet alchemy. LOVE. They have so many extra flavors that are available as pints that are must haves. I think my favorite is probably the fig honey crumble, I love that many of their flavors have hints of tea & herbs. We tend to get pints everytime! They also recycle back their pint glasses for $1 off if you bring it back. Pretty easy to complete a stamp card (one stamp per $5 purchase, and ten stamps gets you $5 off!) when you order by the pint. Would recommend ordering online if you can. read more
i genuinely am not a huge fan of ice cream, but this spot was SO good! for starters, you can add as many flavors as you want into any size cup of your choice, i went with thai iced tea, banana nutella crunch, and sweet cream. thoroughly enjoyed the unique flavors and variety here, and the ice cream had a great texture and taste! staff was super friendly and helpful, and while i wish there was seating inside, the ambiance is really cool (check out my photos) ice cream was definitely what i'd consider expensive for the sizes, but if you're looking for a sweet treat, or even sharing one perhaps -- i can see it having decent value. it is also a quintessential seattle spot to try with tons of unique flavors, so id factor that into the price as well. but overall, massive points for having unique flavors that taste good, being not overly sweet or overpowering, having great texture, and making this frozen custard / froyo lover thoroughly enjoy his ice cream :) would recommend! definitely a spot to come and try. overall: 9/10 taste: 10/10 price: 8/10 rounding to 5 stars cause they deserve it :) read more

One of Seattle's top ice cream spots with a chill vibe. They've got a huge variety of unique flavors and tons of options to hit the spot for any craving. As an ice cream lover, I love that you can mix multiple flavors in any cup size. The staff was friendly and informative about the different flavors. read more
I can't remember what flavors I ordered but the ice cream was very smooth! I really liked the texture of it and the unique flavors! There's not a lot of room in the store, but it's a super cute place. Definitely recommend this place if you're in Seattle! read more
