My wife and I dropped by here for an afternoon treat. I loved the way the yogurt flavors are mechanically swirled in front of you while you make your choice. We chose the Ube and London Fog flavors and loved both of them. Creamy, just the right amount of sweetness, a dairy richness, indulgent. (The Ube captured the unique taste of that Filipino flavor.) All the things you want from a dairy dessert. The store had a bright, clean, spotless look with a white-tiled wall and the name of the shop in cool blue letters. Once we got our cup of frozen yogurt, we sat at a picnic table outside to eat it. The woman who served us was very friendly, giving us samples to help us make our decision. A really nice place for a treat.
Prepare to stand in line but it'll be worth it. Hellenika has an ever-changing list of fabulous flavors that you'll want to try them all. The ube coconut is their most popular and there's definitely a reason for it. It's so smooth and creamy and decadent. The om ali flavor was so unique - a spice and flavor explosion in your mouth -- truly fall/autumn in a dessert cup. The rhubarb is a great one for the people that love tart things (me). You'll never not see a line at Hellenika but they do get you through pretty quickly and this one is definitely worth waiting for.
In doing research for my Seattle trip I came across this place when my girlfriend requested a Gelato stop. This is the only one I found in Pike Place Market. I should have researched it more and plotted where it was located in Pike Place Market. We eventually came upon this place by accident. The line was forever long when we arrived on day 1 of our trip and we had a destination we had to get to and we didn't have time to stand in line. When I was researching this place, no where did it indicate it was so popular that there would be a gigantic line to get in. Day 2 was another story. We had seen all we wanted to see and after lunch it was time for some Gelato. We got in line was told by the guy behind us that it was worth the wait. Good thing as we didn't know if it was worth the wait or not. We waited in line for around 20 minutes. When we finally got to the front of the line they checked the line inside and let us in. There were 4 open stations that were similar. We were asked what flavors we wanted to try. I had the key lime and Marionberry. My favorite was the key lime. My girlfriend got the biscoff. It was good, but not as good as the key lime.
The warm weather calls for a delicious ice cream in the middle of October at the tourist district of Pike Place! A double scoop of Ube Coconut and London Fog (basically it's vanilla) was a perfect combination. Only the ube was hardly tasted. It's more of a coconut ice cream. Still it tasted very good. Lots of seating options outside as there are no seating areas inside.
I might get executed for this take but this was really mid. These were the World Cup flavors so perhaps they were a bit too exotic for us. Aside from the biscoff one, everything was just hard to eat. We got the sampler to try everything and perhaps that was our folly. The texture of the gelato itself is really good though, I love the yogurt tongue feel this has. Just sad that these flavors just wasn't our vibe.
The ice cream was very good! But nothing out of the ordinary. All of the employees were extremely nice and gave multiple samples out. The line is always so long so I don't think it's worth it if you have to wait longer than 20 minutes. But good quality with great service. Only down is the wait.
I was out in Seattle by the Pike place area. It was a bit hot Came across this location. There was a line, to get in ,so I definitely had to try it out. Everyone that works to super nice. They let me try practically all the flavors. Me and my family all got something different flavors were fire. Not ordinary ice cream Shop.
We came when it just opened on Saturday. Despite the cold weather, there was a line already forming! Staff was to the point about the ingredients of each ice cream that wasn't obvious. But recommended her favorite, which was chocolate. We were quite full from eating a bunch of morning pasties so we ordered two small cups. We picked London fog and chocolate. They were as expected . While we were waiting in line, they had a cute blue and white color scheme. And there was a tour going on beside the public line to service cream. That ll be something I'll have to look up in the future.
Yes, the line went down the street and yes we stood in that very line and patiently waited our turn at the window. The line is intimidating but does move quickly. Yes, their ice cream is worth every ounce! Do not leave Pike's Place without standing in that very line. You will thank me later.
Line was relatively short compared to the times I've seen it in the summer so I decided to try it! The line moved quickly and I tried almost every flavor. My favorite was definitely the vanilla and ube coconut but the marion berry and miso caramel were interesting! I got a small ube coconut and vanilla to share and they even gave me a pup cup of ube coconut for my dog which was super sweet of them! The store runs efficiently and there's plenty of seating outside. The prices are fair and the servers were very patient and let me take my time sampling. I'll definitely stop in again if the line is short!
The flavors here are a bit peculiar if you do not prepare yourself; however, if you're into Greek yogurt flavored ice cream, this is for you. I cannot justify waiting in line for more than an hour (granted it was a weekend and there are always lines on the weekends especially in the summer) but I did because I've been wanting to try this place for a while now ever since I moved here a few years ago. There are samples while you wait in line -- some servers being good and some being... decent. When you get to the interior, they let you try samples as well. The servers are speedy and want to get the next person in line--so more of a you get in and get out situation. I saw one of the workers pour out a bag into the ice cream making machine so it was cool to see it happen in real time. There are a few ice cream shops in the area, but if you really want to go here for the "Seattle Pike Place" experience, definitely go on a weekday or non-peak hours.
I've lived in Seattle my whole life but somehow never got the chance to try Hellenika up until recently. It's basically cultured gelato so it's perfect for people who like the texture of gelato and the creaminess of yogurt. I'm a big fan of Ellenos yogurt and wanted to check out this place as well. I went on a summer afternoon so the line was pretty long, but moved quickly so I didn't stand in line for longer than 15 minutes. There were so many interesting flavors and the staff working there said I could sample as many as I wanted before deciding. I really appreciated that as they're pretty busy but still gave me a chance to try some before choosing one I liked. I ended up selecting the Lemon Curd as it was so tart and creamy and the yogurt paired with the lemon made it taste like the yoplait key lime pie yogurt I loved as a kid. I also really liked the Mango, Marionberry, and Seattle Fog so I'll come back for those next time. Ube was highly recommended to me as well but the coconut flavor felt overpowering to me. Regular sized single scoop is called a "walk around the park". If you want two flavors, you have to pay an additional amount for a split scoop. Really enjoyed the gelato and it was the perfect summer afternoon treat!
Long wait. Really hyped. Tried the ube coconut it's good creamy but nothing too fancy in my opinion. If you're curious I would say stop in and try all of the flavors they're offering that day.
Stopped by during our food crawl at Pike Place and I'm so glad we did! They were pretty busy when we went, but the staff was still super nice and took the time to let us sample whatever flavors we wanted. We actually got to try all the flavors they had available at the time haha. My top two were definitely the London Fog and Marionberry, but I ultimately went with the london fog! The texture was very soft and stretchy, unlike regular ice cream. The london fog was pretty tea-forward and honestly tasted just like I was drinking a london fog latte. It wasn't overly sweet either, and you could still taste a bit of that tartness from the cultured cream, which I actually really liked. Also, knowing that it's cultured makes me feel a little less guilty about eating it LOL. Like I'm getting some sort of benefit out of eating ice cream, or at least that's what I'm telling myself. Will say the price is a little steep for what you get, but I think it's worth trying at least once! The texture and flavors are pretty unique, and it tasted really good. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back to try more flavors! read more

I really liked this: Biscoff I liked this: Marionberry Seattle Fog Plain Greek Ube Coconut This was ok: Honey Matcha Blueberry Key Lime I tried quite a few flavors here, and overall, I think the ice cream is decent, but nothing really blew me away. The Biscoff was probably my favorite #goodeats, with a stronger flavor that balances out the tartness of the Greek yogurt base. Marionberry was also pretty good, with a raspberry-like flavor that does a nice job of masking that tartness. Seattle Fog delivers exactly what you'd expect from a London Fog, and I enjoyed that one as well. Surprisingly, the Plain Greek was one of the better options. It's smooth, simple, and lets the yogurt base shine without trying to do too much. The other flavors were more of a mixed bag. Ube Coconut had good ube flavor, but I wasn't a fan of the coconut flakes. Honey Matcha was disappointing because the tartness of the Greek yogurt and the sweetness of the honey completely overpowered the matcha. It felt like too many competing flavors without any of them really standing out. Blueberry had a strong flavor, but it tasted a little synthetic to me. Key Lime was acceptable, though it mostly tasted like plain Greek yogurt with Biscoff crumble rather than anything particularly reminiscent of key lime. The service was nice, and I appreciate the simplicity of the menu. My biggest gripe, though, is how quickly the ice cream melts. It starts melting almost immediately, which makes it difficult to enjoy, especially when there's nowhere to sit inside and very limited seating outside. Combine that with the long wait, and I honestly don't think the flavors are good enough to justify the experience. I'm a little surprised by how popular this place is. It's not bad by any means, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back. read more
Like many Yelpers mentioned, there'll be a line! So, be prepared for a wait. My brother introduced us to Hellenika after we finished exploring Pike Place Market. We stood in line for about 15 minutes before entering and were able to browse their current flavors while waiting. Hellenika offers a unique experience where you can sample any (and all) flavors to help you make your decision. The staff was incredibly helpful, patient, and cheerful throughout the entire process. I opted for a split (half and half) of their earl grey and coffee flavors. The ice cream is incredibly rich, so a small cup was more than enough for me. Overall, Hellenika is a great dessert place, but I wouldn't wait more than 15-20 minutes for this experience. read more

This place is a must stop if you're visiting the market. Wait times can be rough, but I assure you it's 100% worth it. The staff are super friendly and helpful if you've never tried their greek yogurt ice creams, they'll gladly try their full lineup. Inside is clean and well lit. You can see the creamery in the back and all the ice creams on the counter being churned. I got a serving of their plain greek and ube. Both are delicious and present a delightful tart flavor. I'll be back anytime we return to Seattle! read more

A cult favorite at Pike Place! Hellenika Cultured Creamery speacializes in cultured gelato. There's usually quite the line out the door, but it moves decently fast. They have seasonal flavors, so depending on when you go, you might encounter new creations! On our visit, we tried the Marionberry flavor! Super refreshing and tart! The texture is really smooth and a bit softer than your usual gealto. A nice and cool sweet treat during the hot summer months. read more

MUST MUST MUST visit when in Seattle!! Totally elevated the world of yogurt IMO. It's just like gelato married to froyo. So creamy yet refreshing with that original tangy flavor of yogurt stood out strongly despite they're featuring fun flavors. My top picks were their Ube Coconut and Plain Greek Yogurt. I did try the Honey Matcha and sample Biscoff, but those first 2 were still most memorable ones. The server was so friendly, entertaining us trying out multiple flavors ahead of finally picking our choice. The large cup might look small, but once filled OMG we're stuffed LOL. But really enjoyed it till the last spoon while watching the market's hustle bustle. read more
This place's wait time is a little too crazy.. came on friday around 2 pm, had to wait almost 45 mins to get one scoop. Lol was it worth it? Maybe.. maybe not. When we visited Hellinka Cultured, on a weekday afternoon, there was a line half a block long. The line moves pretty fast though. While waiting in line, we were able to scan a QR Code and see all eight of their flavors for that day - Latte, Honey Matcha, Ube Coconut, Dutch Chocolate, Vanilla Malt, Marionberry, London Fog, Canteloupe. It taste like extra creamy slightly tangy ice cream. It's served at a temperature where it's already starting to melt, but that's usually not an issue since people at it so quickly! Their process starts with cultured milk. The milk is churned into gelato in small batches. We couldn't decide what to get so we went with a flight of all 8 flavors served in kids cups. I thought the cultured gelato went well with all the fruity flavors (Marionberry and Canteloupe), but my overall favorite was Ube Coconut - I just really like that flavor profile. Brendan's favorite was Dutch Chocolate and he was ok with Canteloupe and Marionberry Charlotte's favorites were Ube Coconut and Honey Matcha Shanying's favorite were London Fog and then Ube Coconut. This place is such a great place inside Seattle's pike place market. This family run Gelato shop is owned by an Australian family. One of the coolest things about the experience is watching the Gelato being stirred and mixed right at the store. It adds and interactive part for when you visit. The staff is generous with samples. You can try as many flavors as you would like before deciding. Another big plus is that most of their flavors are gluten free. The Gelato itself is creamy and flavorful. If you're in the area try it out. Better to check it out on a weekday. read more

My friend has been seeing this place a lot on Instagram so we decided to stop by on our tour around Seattle over the weekend. Be prepared for a long line no matter what time of day. This place is super popular, but the line moves quickly. They have QR codes available whilst waiting in line so you can try to decide your flavor ahead of time. What's great is that you can also ask for samples when you reach the counter. I know frozen Greek yohgurt is all the rage right now and Hellenika doesn't disappoint. I got the Ube Coconut flavor and it was incredible. I definitely didn't taste the coconut as much as I would have hoped, but it was such a fun flavor with which to experiment. The frozen yoghurt was not as tart as I would have expected but there is a slight aftertaste in case you don't enjoy that aspect of eating yoghurt. They had some other unique flavors such as Tim Tam, Seattle Fog, Lemon Curd, etc which paid homage to their Australian-Greek heritage while also honoring Seattle. I cannot recommend coming here (especially with friends to have company in line and then people to share different flavors with). It is worth the wait in line especially during a Seattle summer. read more
First time checking out Hellenika and I can say it's worth the line/hype. So glad they let you try all the flavors but sad we weren't able to try lemon curd and ube/coconut since they were churning. I ended up getting the Vanilla and Mango. My husband got the Seattle Fog and Honey Macadamia Nut. The texture is so creamy and depending on the flavor you might get some little bits too. read more

That said, the location is great if you're already walking around Pike Place and looking for something refreshing. Just be prepared for a line, especially during peak tourist hours. I set out to find Ellenos yogurt, but somehow ended up discovering Hellenika instead. Honestly, it turned out to be a pretty happy accident. While wandering through Pike Place, several vendors told me the Ube Coconut flavor was their favorite, so I took that as a sign and ordered it. I'm happy to report they were right. It was rich, creamy, and surprisingly refreshing at the same time. I went with the small size, which turned out to be perfect because it satisfied my sweet tooth without leaving me in a food coma. My husband chose the Calamansi flavor and really enjoyed it too. The bright citrus flavor paired with the floral tang made it taste different from a typical ice cream. There always seems to be a line, but it moves quickly thanks to the attentive staff, who do a great job keeping things running smoothly and making sure people aren't waiting too long. A part of me still misses the Ellenos stand I originally came for, but I'm glad I found Hellenika. Sometimes the best Pike Place discoveries are the ones you weren't looking for. If you're visiting the market and want a cool treat, I'd definitely recommend giving Hellenika a try. read more
The lines for this place are always insane; I usually just skip it but finally bit the bullet. Honestly, I do think the quality of the gelato lives up to the hype. The 45min wait can be unbearable though for a scoop of dessert, so I'm not sure if I'd necessarily come back. There are tons of gelato flavors to choose from -- I think I counted 16 at least. They did offer samples, so we between the two of us, we were able to try almost all the flavors on the menu. Super creamy gelato texture; no ice crystals at all. The cultures also gave everything a nice tang to balance out the richness and sweetness of the gelato. All the flavors were really good, and I don't think you can go wrong. We went with the blueberry. It was reassuring to know they used actual fruit in their gelato, since we were able to find some blueberry skins and seeds in our scoop! read more

Slowed Churned "Cultured Gelato." Honest all the flavors we tried were yummy. My favorite was probably marionberry. They frequently change out their menu. Got there about 10-15 minutes before they opened on a Saturday morning and we were the second group of people in line. read more
As I was waiting in line, I was asking the guy what this place sells since I didn't really get the concept and it's essentially "healthy" gelato because it as probiotics. Got the earl grey flavor which was perfectly lightly sweet and did not go overboard with the early grey flavor. The texture was more like a stretch froyo and was not icy if that makes sense. I'd love to come here more but it's expensive!! You can almost go to another ice cream shop and get 2 scoops for this price. read more
Ellenos is easily one of my favorite dessert spots in Seattle! Their Greek yogurt is unbelievably creamy and smooth--almost like gelato--but with the refreshing tanginess that makes it feel lighter. We sampled several flavors and ended up ordering Seattle Fog, Ube Coconut, Lemon Poppy Seed, and Matcha. Every flavor was distinct and delicious. * Seattle Fog was my favorite--smooth, aromatic, and subtly infused with Earl Grey tea, making it unique without being overly sweet. * Ube Coconut had a beautiful natural purple color and a creamy tropical flavor that wasn't overpowering. * Lemon Poppy Seed was bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of citrus. * Matcha had a rich, earthy flavor that wasn't bitter and paired beautifully with the tangy yogurt base. read more
Another hyped place I saw all over social media. It was a must stop during our short trip up to Seattle. Walked up a little later afternoon & there was a short line. It moved pretty quick though, we waited maybe 10-15 minutes. I really wanted the calamansi curd,but it was still churning. Decided to sample the london fog & was surprised to find that it had slight hint of citrus in it. I was sold. Boyfriend got the marionberry & ube coconut. It was so cool to see the gelato basically being made in front of you. There were a other flavors that were still churning. Its wasn't just like another tub being brought out from the freezer. The creaminess was just wow! So smooth. Worth the hype, worth the wait. Kinda regret not going everyday we were there. read more
Yummy spot for a cold sweet treat on a hot day! Walking around eating my Ube Coconut I had many people stop me and ask where I got my delicious treat. Definitely unique and I enjoyed they let you sample before you choose. I chose the popular Ube Coconut which was tasty. Long lines but the staff were efficient and kind. Only con was we saw the Salish tours going on and the worker preparing their glass jarred samples wiped the jars with her apron to clean them when she should be using a clean towel not the bottom of her apron?.... Stopped by this viral spot and got lucky with no line. We thought all the flavors were smooth, creamy, and rich. The london fog was spot on and really surprised me. The lemon curd was not as bright as I prefer, but we ended up with the dutch chocolate. There's some outdoor seating and once we started enjoying the gelato people began flooding in. Hellenika Cultured Creamery ended up being one of my favorite dessert stops at Pike Place Market. The menu offers a lot of flavors you don't normally see, so it was fun trying something a little different. I went with the Coconut Ube and Black Sesame. The Coconut Ube was lightly sweet and incredibly creamy, while the Black Sesame had a rich, roasted flavor that complemented the Ube quite well. The cultured gelato has a noticeably smooth texture with a slight tang that makes it feel fresh rather than overly rich. It's clear that a lot of care goes into the ingredients, and the flavors come across as balanced instead of trying to be overly bold for the sake of being different. Service was very amiable! Would highly recommend stopping in for a scoop. read more
Hellenika Cultured Creamery was okay. If you're into Greek yogurt style gelato this is a good spot, but I'm more of a traditional ice cream guy so it wasn't really my thing. Customer service was fine, nothing that stood out either way. Place was busy, high traffic, touristy spot, but the ambience wasn't anything impressive. If you're looking to be wowed, this probably isn't it. read more
Stopped by Hellenika Cultured Creamery on our last visit to Seattle. Parking is difficult in this area as the shop is located in the middle of pike place market. You'll likely need to park in a nearby lot, parking garage, or street park a couple blocks away. When you arrive, the atmosphere feels open, bustling and such good customer service (I'm sure they would let you sample every flavor). After sampling a few flavors i opted for the POG (passionfruit, orange, and guava) gelato. The gelato was excellent and it was well balanced and smooth. If you are in the pike place market, this is a must stop. read more

While visiting Pike Place Market, I stopping in to Hellenika to sample the goods. I tried the London Fog flavor and it was out of this world! They rotate a new eight new flavors every month to keep the menue fresh. If you are looking for some delicious gourmet cream, this is the place! read more
