I learned about this ice cream parlor from IG for their viral swirling creamery videos. When we first passed by the store in the afternoon hours, there was a huge line out the door, about half an hour wait time. Luckily when we passed by it again next morning, there wasn't any line, so we decided to try it out. The store is small. Everyone walks thru the aisle and during the turn you get to see the churning flavors. They had 8 flavors available. They hand out small portions for the flavors guests want to try. The scoops come in three cup sizes of S, M, L and a split option available as well. Prices are between $7 and $14. We tried the mango, lime curd, and ube coconut flavors. Mango was my favorite. We got small cups of mango and ube coconut. But even small cups had such large scoops, we kept eating for a while. The ice cream was so dense and creamy, very unique texture. The staff member were super friendly. They were smiling all the time and handing tasting spoons to all guests without any fuss. The checkout process was quick and simple. We were delighted to be able to try out this viral spot.

This ice cream tasted out of this world! I've never had ice cream taste so smooth and creamy with such vibrant flavors. The worker was extremely helpful and gave us multiple flavors to try. Ube and mango were my absolute flavors. This place is a must visit when in Seattle.

We were visiting Pike Place Market and saw a LONG LINE for this ice cream place so we decided to try. Hellenika is known for gelato made with local milk and live cultures, blending Greek aspects. Small menu for the flavors. You can sample as many as you like. I got ube coconut. It's creamy and soft. Fresh for sure. As we eating it, it didn't melt at all. I know that's definitely a good quality gelato. I found the small cup was still too much for me. You can ask for a split (half and half) to buy more flavors. It's a very popular spot. Line up to order, take some pictures then exit. No tables or seats inside. Nice Greek theme through out the store. The lady was very nice and patient with all the customers. (Imaging everyone asks for multiple samples). Highly recommended to try it out. Go early to avoid the line (we did that).

Tried London Fog during my first time. The second time, we tried marionberry and raspberry coconut, 7th inning, and Dutch chocolate. The churned gelato was the best that I have ever had. It was smooth and perfectly sweet with real ingredients. Depending on the time of the day, there may be a line. If you go when they open, there is no line. There are no tables to sit at but you can just eat the Pike's Market. The servers were all friendly.

I love ice cream and especially LOVE A creamery! Hellenika's has been sneaking its way onto my feeds because of their unique flavors and delicious milk taste. They even offer flights in case you want to try a few flavors. It's located at Pike Place making it a busy location but the line goes by quickly and there's nowhere to sit so it's a quick grab and go spot. I would have liked to be able to enjoy my ice cream there but maybe they'll expand eventually. They're constantly churning ice cream and sometimes you might need to wait a few minutes for it to be ready but it's well worth it. I wasn't patient enough unfortunately but something to consider. I of course tried a few before deciding and was shocked that the flavors were a lot more subtle than expected. The milky taste was there but not enough for me.

Yooo, *bold* black sesame taste in the xian black sesame mochi Greek gelato with a tangy flair. Though the more I ate it the more I realized that it's a tad too sweet for me; I couldn't finish a small size. I also tried the cantaloupe flavor (pretty tart, almost as tart as a sorbet lol) and the ube coconut flavor (deliciously tastes *just* like Magnolia ube ice cream :p). No line when visiting on a Thursday afternoon in early March.

I have walked by Hellenika Cultured Creamery at Pike Place Market so many times, and the line is always insane even in the dead of winter. The zombie-like insanity coveting Hellenika is in competition for the (not-)first Starbucks steps away. Well, as luck would have it that we finally encountered a short line on a pouring rainy day. The inside is sparkling clean with canisters of whirling ice cream. Even though we sampled some from a very kind staff member, we opted to get a takeaway container instead. I won the rock-paper-scissors over hubby and chose the Marionberry. I still want the Seattle/London Fog and Lemon Curd in the future, while he wants the Ube Coconut next. The ice cream is super rich and thick. The marionberry flavor is full of berry goodness. I am glad I bought the take-out container. I learned that I want only about two tablespoons at a time. It is soooo rich! I also learned something else. These are at select grocery stores, too!

If you're visiting Pike Market, this is a must try, at least once! There was a line out the door when we went, which I assume is normal, but it's worth it if you've never tried! Never had cultures ice cream before so was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. Staff was fantastic, offering samples and having plenty of recommendations.

Took the opportunity to revisit with a very short line around 5pm just before close. Saw they had Lunar New Year flavors so figured this was a prime opportunity to come back, though did not see the Yuzu Cheesecake which sounds delicious. Instead, they had most of the regular offerings plus Dragon's Beard. All the flavors were available this time, churning smoothly, and with no lengthy delays. Delicious froyo-like gelato, but in large quantities, the Greek yogurt tanginess gets a bit heavy on the taste buds. Ice cream or regular froyo I can unhealthily demolish large quantities of, but not the Greek yogurt gelato here. Maybe a good thing calorie wise and for the wallet, but I think a small cup is more than enough! Would rather come here more often for a treat than overload in one visit. Honey Matcha - very light matcha, stronger Greek yogurt tanginess, and a dabble of honey for balance. While it's not too sweet (good thing), I do wish there was more earthy, grassy undertones. Probably a good way to ease into matcha for those unfamiliar or those who aren't fond of the grass-like taste. This had the yogurt consistency much like all the other flavors. Dragon's Beard - consistency and texture here was more akin to ice cream, not as creamy. Interesting flavor, tasty, nutty, and not very sweet. Dragon's beard is a colorful Chinese treat that's essentially sugar infused with goodies like nuts. Flavor wise, we thought it tasted almost berry-like, though I don't actually think that's the case. It's more like a light, cotton candy. The peanuts added a nice texture which many other flavors don't have, great for the sensory add.

Lemon curd , 7th inning stretch

I tried every flavor. Lemon curd and 7th inning stretch good combo. The plain flavor also was better than expected to be plain.

After several visits, I figured it was time to come back and update my review of Hellenika Cultured Creamery...and yeah, it's an easy 5 stars. This place is such a standout in Pike Place. Ive never been to a place like this before. I've been back multiple times now and it's been consistent every single time, which honestly says a lot in a spot that gets this much foot traffic. The flavors are simple but done right, and whatever they're doing with the texture needs to be studied because it's next level. It's also just a fun stop when you're wandering the market. Quick, easy, and fun. If you're in Pike Place and even remotely in the mood for something sweet, don't skip this place. It's absolutely worth it.

I had been dying to try Hellenika ice cream, and I'm so glad I finally did because it was delicious! We ordered the ice cream flight, which I'm really happy we did because it let us try a variety of flavors. Our absolute favorites were the plain, ube, and chocolate. The ice cream was perfectly light and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The flavors were bright and fresh, and I liked the Greek yogurt twist. I think it gives the ice cream a nice balance and texture. It can get a bit busy during tourist season, but the line moves pretty quickly. The shop itself is very cute and nicely decorated, with a clean and inviting look. The flight was very much worth it and a good portion size for trying multiple flavors. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

Dragon's breath (left) and sakura chamomille (right)

My last visit here was probably when they had their gochujang-flavored gelato, which was probably 2 years ago. For this visit, I came across their Lunar New Year flavors, and got to try some with my bestie on a rainy Saturday noon after lunch. Lines here are particularly long but probably because it was the weekend. There's no seating inside but you can see the gelato churning up at the counter, and the kitchen itself when you go deeper inside. At the front, you can sample flavors that you like, and servers were very fast and efficient in serving everyone any flavor they wanted to have. I had several, though my bestie and I settled on both the dragon's breath and the sakura chamomille: - Dragon's breath has peanuts, sesame seeds, cotton candy and - the big one - dragon fruit. Taste was more heavily of dragon fruit while you kinda had to slowly eat the gelato to pick up on the rest of the ingredients. The peanuts were interesting; it added a nutty flavor that balanced whatever sweetness came from the dragon fruit and cotton candy.

As you can see from my review years ago, when my hubs and I came back from a trip to Italy, we wanted to find a gelato shop that had the same quality as the shops in Rome. Not all the gelato and sorbetto we had in Italy was good, some flavors tasted artificial, and during our time there, we learned how to tell the good from the meh. When we returned to Seattle, we were happy to find great-Italy-like gelato at the Bottega Italiana in Green Lake. After that shop closed (still sad about that!) we started going to their other shop by Pike Place Market. For years, this place featured delicious, fresh, quality gelato and sorbetto that tasted like the flavors they were labeled with--so strawberry tasted like eating real strawberries and so on. But on a recent visit, I got a small cup with strawberry and raspberry-dragon fruit and the first flavor I got when I tasted it was sugar. As I ate more of it, it started to remind me of Jolly Rancher candies, not totally, but enough to turn me off. They use just enough fruit to make you believe it's the flavor that it's labeled with, but the amount of sugar and other things added makes their fruit flavors as meh as the not-so-good shops we learned to avoid in Rome. Alas, I think my favorite gelato shop in Seattle has fallen prey to profit over quality. Why, Bottega Italiana, why??? It makes me and my hubs very sad. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the service was friendly and efficient, and my hubs's dairy-based gelato flavors were all right--not great but all right. Over the years, we've tried all the other gelato shops in Seattle and none of them measure up either. I guess it's time we take another trip to Italy.

Not peeking the menu before I went, I was pleasantly surprised at the varieties of chocolate chip cookies they had to offer. Being the office chair I am, I swiveled left and right, inspecting the entire display, and ended up getting one of each (ok, that's a lie... I got 4 of each ). While each of them were great, the Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip cookie got me. The whole wheat offered something a bit different - a bit more of a nutty earthiness that you typically get with a brown butter chocolate chip cookie, but also with the pleasant illusion that I was making a healthy choice by going whole wheat.
