Good service, very rich gelato. The restroom is a problem, with a tortuously difficult code- in-doorknob combo. Extremely pleasant staff, much appreciated warmth and efficiency. No cash accepted.

Decided to try Nutty Squirrel Gelato. They have two other locations in town (Phinney Ridge and Woodinville). Their Magnolia location is next door to Mondello Italian. We dropped in on a Monday afternoon (3:45pm). Most people were grabbing ice cream to go. We sampled a couple of flavours before deciding. They had a dozen flavours (10 gelato and two sorbetto). Scoops are $4.75 USD (kids), $6.25 USD (small) or $7.95 USD (medium). - Small ($6.25 USD) - mojito and northwest forest berries. Scoops are on the small side, but both flavours were bright with good texture. Sadly, both melted quickly even though we ate inside. Good gelato but small, pricey scoops. 3.5 stars.

Awesome gelato, with fun and classic flavours (such as amaretto, pistachio, chocolate, but also açai, and peanut butter+caramel+chocolate chip). The serving size was tasty and reasonably sized. The staff was super friendly and let us try the flavours we were interested in. The space is cozy and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell pints to-go and baked desserts.

We happen to cross this lovely spot when we were looking for ice cream on a random Saturday over in the area. It's located a few miles from the Ballard locks, so it was perfect to go from there and grab something sweet! This is a cute little gelato shop with a really nice outdoor seating area and a few tables inside. They had a dozen or so different options for gelato that definitely let everyone find what they liked. All of the kids were ecstatic that they got to pick a cone with plenty of accoutrements attached. A crowd favorite was the waffle cone that was dipped in chocolate and then covered in marshmallows. It was basically like getting ice cream with a s'mores attached to it! My better half and I split a chocolate lava cake with gelato on top... You need to get this. A lava cake with Nutty Squirrel gelato On top was one of the best things I've ever tasted! The cake was warm, the gelato cool and the feelings of love and affection that accompanied the dessert were simply spectacular! They definitely aren't giving away the gelato, but for the quality of the product and the quality of the service, it was definitely worth it. The next time we're over in the area, we will definitely be coming back!

Don't know what to say other than this is the best gelato I had in my life. I mean I'm no gelato expert but the difference between this and other gelato I had is abismal. The lady at the cpu get was super nice e and let me try different flavors. Great service, cute decor, outside tables... me liky all!

Pretty darn good gelato! If you ever in the Magnolia neighborhood, this little spot is a good spot to stop by to get your gelato fix. It's in the main square area/downtown area of Magnolia, near the park side. We went there a few months back....It's very neighborhood-y to me, small spot, wasn't busy when we came by and friendly greetings as we walked in. They do offer samples if you want to check out a flavor. I was in a coffee type of mood so I decided to get 2 flavors in 1 cup. I got the "white coffee" and "espresso". Both were flavorful with coffee and very refreshing and delicious. We also got "pistachio" and "chocolate", that too was very tasty and yummy! There's a small little area to sit and a ledge to sit at, no one was in there and we had the whole place to ourselves. Menu of flavors all looked pretty good. They have some coffee drinks, some other desserts and I think they serve a small menu of food during the day. Prices seemed fine to me and no issues there. Staff gal that night was friendly and helpful. A few smaller restaurants in this area, good spot for dessert after dinner or whenever you feel like it.

Yummy gelato that is still operating during Coronavirus. People are waiting outside at a safe distance and going in one at a time. I got a split scoop of a single with espresso and the salted caramel... a diving combo if I do say so myself. Really creamy. The hubby got the lemon cookie and was a bit disappointed that it wasn't very tart or lemony. It was still good but the lemon was just a little masked. The flavors in the store did not match the ones on their website but there was still plenty to choose from. A little bummed that they charge extra for a sugar cone but I'm pretty cheap. Really nice and helpful employee who was doing great keeping up with the high demand of a sunny day.

This place is so so yummy!! We tried a bunch of different flavors before choosing what we wanted. The thing that stood out to me most were that none of the flavors were too sweet. I ended up with the nutty squirrel and chocolate and the husband went with the strawberry and chocolate. The consistency of the gelato was perfect and it was a perfect dessert to end our night!

Both were really good though my marionberry had a lot more taste and wasn't as sweet as the salted caramel. Staff up front were very patient with us when we asked to try several of their flavors at once.

The staff was friendly, patient, and happy to let us sample flavors before choosing (honestly, you'll want to try them all). The shop itself is bright, spotless, and super easy to order from, which made the whole experience even better. As you can see from my review years ago, when my hubs and I came back from a trip to Italy, we wanted to find a gelato shop that had the same quality as the shops in Rome. Not all the gelato and sorbetto we had in Italy was good, some flavors tasted artificial, and during our time there, we learned how to tell the good from the meh. When we returned to Seattle, we were happy to find great-Italy-like gelato at the Bottega Italiana in Green Lake. After that shop closed (still sad about that!) we started going to their other shop by Pike Place Market. For years, this place featured delicious, fresh, quality gelato and sorbetto that tasted like the flavors they were labeled with--so strawberry tasted like eating real strawberries and so on. But on a recent visit, I got a small cup with strawberry and raspberry-dragon fruit and the first flavor I got when I tasted it was sugar. As I ate more of it, it started to remind me of Jolly Rancher candies, not totally, but enough to turn me off. They use just enough fruit to make you believe it's the flavor that it's labeled with, but the amount of sugar and other things added makes their fruit flavors as meh as the not-so-good shops we learned to avoid in Rome. Alas, I think my favorite gelato shop in Seattle has fallen prey to profit over quality. Why, Bottega Italiana, why??? It makes me and my hubs very sad. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the service was friendly and efficient, and my hubs's dairy-based gelato flavors were all right--not great but all right. Over the years, we've tried all the other gelato shops in Seattle and none of them measure up either. I guess it's time we take another trip to Italy.

However, there are standout flavors like waffle cone that I had to get, as well as the more traditional flavors like pistachio. The flavors I ended up getting were the waffle cone and strawberry rhubarb. I liked the quality of the gelato but it was more on the icy texture than smooth. For the price of $6+tax, it is one of the pricier options around for the portion. If this was the best gelato in Seattle, I'd have written the price off as a premium for quality, but I've had a few spots that in my opinion are better in texture and flavor.
