I had a great experience with Bobby, who is one of the owners and does their field repair, that serviced my pool equipment. I had broken one of the coupling nuts to my salt cell while taking it off to clean it. The problem was to replace the coupling; there wasn't any room to just cut it off and add another. I went to their store on Saturday looking for help, we buy all our pool supplies from them, after explaining what happened and showing them the pictures and challenges of the repair, they offered some possible solutions and said they would have Bobby call me first thing Monday. Bobby called first thing on Monday and scheduled and made the repair for Tuesday. Bobby knows his stuff and didn't try to up sell or make a bigger deal out of it. I was surprised to learn they have tool that can bore out the old PVC in the joint without too much trouble and cost. Service call is $150.00 plus $60.00 in parts; they only use OEM parts. That might sound expensive, I really didn't think so. Called when he said he would, fixed the system and gone in an hour. I will absolutely use them anytime I need pool service. read more

The owner Mike is awesome! Came in with an issue with my barrel nut for water filter pressure clamp. Leslie's only had the set and it didn't fit. Mike had me bring all the hardware down and spent time making sure what was what. Not only did I need a new barrel nut which I knew and he had IN STOCK, he also realized that I needed to buy a die tap to correct and clean my threads on the bolt assembly itself. He also wrote down exactly what I needed and referred me to Hanks Hardware. I went from an inoperable pool on 4th of July, to an operable one on the 5th. Big shoutout to Paul at this location. We had a water leak through our autofill valve and Paul was able to hook me up with the right part to fix it. Price of part was great too. He walked me through the steps to replace it, explaining how the part worked. My pool guy (husband) is off fly fishing somewhere, and I am clueless with everything pool related. I took it home, installed it, and with a couple more phone calls and texts between us, he helped me diagnose an issue I had with adjusting the arm...and just like that the leak was fixed. I had a love / hate relationship with this store over a 15+ year time frame. I am, admittedly, a creature of habit and this place was convenient to swing into when I had a need. The ladies (mother / daughter combo?) had always been nice, and fairly knowledgeable, when I spoke to them in person and helped me with whatever my basic low end needs were. The main store owner, and off site service/repairman, was a mixed bag though. He was a nice enough guy, when you actually got to speak to him in person. Some times he was responsive and other times aloof, or didn't give a shit to contact you (let alone respond to our home) if you had to leave an in-person or telephonic request for a callback. You would "think" responding to a 15+ year customer would be a priority, but I guess not. After a couple months of trying to get his attention, to come to my place to check on some bleeding rebar, I finally gave up. I was and am done with Temecula Pool & Spa Supply. I found another supply and service store (Action Pool Supply) a couple miles out of my way, while driving through the strip mall where they are located, and started patronizing them. The difference is like night and day. Very knowledgeable and responsive. As for that bleeding rebar issue APS referred me to another local company that does the work WITHOUT having to drain your pool. BTW, that issue was subsequently resolved in a very timely manner. So, in a nut shell, if you need a few basic supplies or parts and this place is a convenient location - go for it. If you need some type of service / repair call - good luck. read more

Poor Service. Was charged $150 to fix my rebel pool vacuum and they never fixed it. They were unable to diagnose the problem and just randomly replaced parts. I watched a simple YouTube video and immediately fixed the problem (simple drive wheel) myself. I was given a water softener on the house and spent much less money than I was expecting. Mike does not know anything about fixing a filter. -If you are looking for someone to NOT show up when they say they will be there, this is the place for you. -If you are looking for someone to NOT know how to fix pool equipment, this is the place for you. -If you are looking for someone to over charge for equipment and service, this is the place for you. The only thing they may be good for is testing water. Now I'm worried that is not correct as well. Mike is not helpful at all. Mike would come out and leave, never knocking on the door or giving feedback. I had to drive to the store because they don't call back. When I was leaving, a lady met me in the parking lot, telling me she is having similar issues with Mike and TPS. This company truly is BAD NEWS. Here's my experience. I called "Mike", the owner, to diagnose and fix my pool and spa lights. Mike was especially friendly on the phone and even offered diagnostics that I could try myself. I advised him that I preferred to have a professional perform the service. We agreed that he would come to my home to fix the lights between 12 p.m and 1 p.m. the following day. I advised him that we were hosting a party at 4 p.m. on the same day he was to perform the repairs. Mike assured me that he would be there on time - and the repairs made - hours before the party. When Mike hadn't even arrived by 2 p.m., I called and spoke with his wife "Linda", who made all sorts of apologies and excuse on Mike's behalf, while simultaneously reassuring me that he was "on his way". The long and short of it? Mike arrived more than two hours late and departed my home 15-minutes before our guests arrived. Very stressful. Also, Mike's quote was for $125. He charged my wife $150. Nice touch. But wait, there's more... Mike's "repair" only lasted a week, and the lights were dark again. I called to advise him of the problem and he returned to my home, disconnected the pool light (leaving only the spa light working) and replaced a brand new GFCI outlet with a brand new GFCI outlet (telling my wife that ours didn't work, but he didn't leave our "broken" part for me to return to Home Depot. Clever. Mike said that I should "test" my spa light for "a couple of days" to make sure that it stayed working. After five days of "testing" the light (yes, it still worked), I called Temecula Pool and Spa Supply only to be greeted - once again - by an answering machine. I left a detailed message advising him of the state of things and asking that he call me back with his next recommended course of action. One week later, Mike calls me back. This time, Mike's new "number" to return and "re-fix" a single pool light and gasket was $125. Reluctantly, I agreed. Mike advised that he would arrive between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. (sound familiar?). By 3:30 p.m., Mike still hadn't arrived or called. I spoke with his "answering" service who advised me that Mike was "really busy" and that he had a pool "emergency", but advised that she would contact Mike and get an ETA. Minutes later she called back to say that he would be at my home "shortly", but could not say precisely when. Yeah, right. I feel conned, ripped off, and mad as hell at myself for ignoring warning sign after warning sign with this outfit. I am going to send a Demand Letter for my money back on his shoddy work. If Mr. Tihanyi (Mike) fails to respond, I will file a Small Claims case against his company. I will update this review with his response. I had hoped to use the leverage of filing a complaint to the Contractors State Licensing Board against license number 818244, but when I went to check his license at www.cslb.com, the state agency advises that "This license is inactive and not able to contract at this time". How about that? Lesson learned. Avoid the services of Mike Tihanyi and his "company" Temecula Pool and Spa Supply. Bad news. read more

I've been a loyal customer for years. So this review is reluctant but necessary. Mike the owner has to be one of the most unprofessional business operators I've ever dealt with. My pool pump died 1 month ago. Per his wife, I shut off my pool. I gave her my phone number and waited for a call from Mike. Never happened. Visited the store 3 times, Mike's almost never there. The staff just takes a message. Finally on the fourth visit I actually catch him and he tells me he's called and left messages. Unfortunately, he's been calling the wrong number. But, he has my number programmed in his phone. He tells me he will stop by that day to check it out. I wait. Nothing, no showed! No phone call! I then call asking for him the next day, "sorry, we don't give his personal number out" but we can take a message. I then stop by the next day, "Mike's out of town until Wednesday " So I return Wednesday, he's not in! Called him this morning and spoke to him, he tells me he will be by my house between 3:30 and 4:00pm. Oh but wait, he again doesn't show or even give me a call. Terrible customer service! I get the fact that he works alone, but really?!!! I will never set foot in that store again! I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I ordered a replacement spa cover from them, at a cost of nearly 350 dollars. The gentleman whom I believe is the owner came out and measured it, promising to deliver the new one when it was done being made by his contractor. After missing the stated delivery date for the new cover by a few days, it was finally left on our driveway, by someone other than him and that as they say was that. Several weeks later when we suspected the cover was indeed larger than it needed to be and not insulating well (after having the spa run much more than it had previously to stay warm) we contacted them and was immediately given a dose of attitude from the woman there...who accused us of not buying it from them since she had no "record" of it (I have the receipt from them), to me improperly measuring it (their own personnel came and measured). She assured me they would look into it and get back to me. When over a week had transpired without so much as a call as discussed with her originally, I called again and she promptly told me I was the rudest customer she'd had in a long time! She kept telling me how busy they were with other jobs, and thats why I had no response as promised. After 20 minutes or so of listening to her running off at the mouth, stammering with excuse after excuse, and telling me that after 30 years in business I had the only ill-fitted spa cover they'd ever sold... I told her I thought that "she and I had spent more time on this call than need be", and before I could finish simply asking to have the owner call me at his earliest convenience...she hung up on me. Needless to say, they've lost any further business from me, and of course the honor of having me share my bad experience with them (her) with anyone who is interested. I'm not certain that they know what they're doing, and doubt that they have bad intentions, but they certainly don't have the patience, skill or manpower to cheerfully deal with anything out of the ordinary, and that makes the place a NO WAY for me for any additional business! I'll never spend a penny there again, there's too much competition that WILL stand by their product, or at least treat you decently when you have a concern. read more

We purchased a new pump a little over five months ago and everything seemed great. Then we started having issues with the pump not turning on which happened at least 4-5 times and my wife called for someone to come check it out. Almost every time they sent someone out to "look" at it my wife wouldn't get any feedback as to why it was the issue. We currently have the same issue and looking elsewhere for our issues. Something else that we realized and don't know if anyone has had this, but we never received our rebate from our purchase and my wife's friend that referred them realized they didn't get theirs either. They have to order the part you need and they also do not uphold their warranty policy. People their are definitely friendly when you give them money, but once you have an issue they will insult you and say it's your problem. I am so disappointed with this company and I had to share. I have a salt water pool and had purchased a new salt cell and filter cartridge replacements. I brought my water into the store to be tested and purchased 5 bags of salt. A few days later my pool was still a bit cloudy so I went back in and scheduled a visit for Mike the owner to come out to see what was going on. He came out on Saturday, took the filter apart and discovered there was a filter basket missing at the top of the interior inside. He said he would look for the part and get back to me. The filter was left all taken apart and not functioning. I called them on Tuesday and Mike's wife answered, she said that part was hard to find. Mike would be out of the office for the next day or two so they would get back to me. It has now been 10 days since he came out, the water is disaster and I have not heard a word from anyone. I went online, made a few calls and found the part needed that is being shipped to me. The part was $40 including shipping. Why didn't they find the part and get back to me? I don't know but I will not ever do business with them.....so unprofessional. read more

Had my heater serviced and was told that if what they did, did not fix my problem, just call back and they would come out and would give me a credit on the repair. I called them the first time I used my heater since they were out and it failed. They told me I should "use some common sense" and should have tried my heater sooner. I told them the technician did not tell me I had a time frame, just if I had the same error code they would honor the amount I already paid. The owner Linda does not know customer service, in front of other customers she told me to get the "F" out of her store. Pathetic place.
