It started with basic design idea on the back of a napkin and turned into The Most Beautiful outdoor kitchen! Way above our wildest dreams. Jason came to our home with a tape measure and some blue painters tape to turn our napkin vision into some real workable dimensions for a custom build. He gave us a really great deal and reasonable expectations for delivery. We went to the showroom and met with Kaitlyn to pick out tiles and that is where the magic happened. Kaitlyn and my fiancé worked beautifully as a team to select the perfect counter-top, back-splash tiles and some stack-stone accents. They really know their business and products. The delivery team arrived 8 weeks later; meeting the original promise made by Jason. The team was professional and careful as they turned the napkin vision into reality. The next day, Eddy the "palapa guy" came to confirm the dimensions for the palapa roof. A couple days later and our outdoor kitchen was completed. Late review: signed contract in December 2020/Pool completed in late May 2021…read more We had half a dozen consults before choosing this company and we pretty much knew what kind of experience it was going to be a couple weeks in. No communication, I had to constantly reach out to ask what was going on. It all started with them beginning nearly two weeks later than stated on our contract and then when the excavators call me outside because they are confused between the plans and the design, I knew it would be downhill from there. Their designer Kyle, admitted to not drawing our yard to scale which made the pool in the design look a lot bigger than what we were actually getting. This part was the biggest disappointment as we BOUGHT the design he presented us with. Kyle graciously gave us an "extra two feet" but, who knows how accurate that even is, it's hard to tell since we chose a free form design. During the entire process, I was cleaning up trash from our backyard daily. Their workers' personal trash such as drinks, bottles, fast food items, cigarette butts and packs, rusted screws/nails, metal wires, saw blades, it was terrible. Also no matter how many times we asked the pool company, their workers filled our trash cans week after week with work material such as rocks, shotcrete, rebar, PVC piping, bags, boxes etc. sometimes rendering it useless for us. The communication was severely lacking, I would always have to reach out and ask what was going on as we were in the dark for most of the process. Contractors would no-show or even show up unannounced at ungodly hours of the morning (6-6:30 AM) making the most noise possible and blasting their radio. Even asking to get a heads up when workers came by so I was aware of who was in our yard and for what or so I wouldn't be blocked in our garage, was too hard of a task for them to manage. On our contract, we were quoted 10-12 week process, we are now at 18 weeks with repairs that still need to be done. Another reason why we chose them is for the verbal promise from Kyle that it would be done by a certain date which they since far surpassed. They messed up the depth of our Baja shelf, we were told the pool should be 7 feet with our jumping rock/grotto, but was only made 6 feet, the spillway from our spa has been butchered a few times and now needs to be replaced, and worse of all 90% of our coping cracked within the first month, but according to the owner (Doug Patterson) we signed in our contract that we understood that concrete cracks, yet there is nothing stated in said contract. This has been a miserable and high stress induced experience, completely frustrating week after week of no communication and lack of respect for the customer. The final kicker is that they started a month prior to even getting approved permits through the city which we didn't find out until the very end! The owner only seemed to want to deal with my husband and avoided me like the plague whenever he came around to check on things. Only time I personally heard from him was when he called to ask me to take down an FB post off a home improvement site when I asked for advice in regards to fixing a couple things. My most favorite part by far was the owner, Doug accusing us of withholding the final $22k payment (via Lyon Finnancial) for a couple "punch-list items" when it's stated in our loan contract that the final payment was for completion of project and we were not notified by anyone that the pool was 100% complete. The designer, Kyle asked for payment for plaster which was not a breakdown in the loan payment schedule. My husband called Lyon and they agreed to do a partial payment and then Kyle told us it's fine, that Doug said it would be easier to do the final payment at the end and then had the nerve to come at us with the "withholding payment" BS. They apparently have a huge lack of communication within their company as well. We also failed our final inspection THREE times. At the third time, we were asked if we would just like to be passed so we could be over and done with. In conclusion, I wish we had researched more, been better prepared, looked into more companies, etc because this definitely wasn't the one for us. It's so sad that we waited and saved up for 5 years of having no backyard and spent way too much money for this kind of treatment and outcome. For almost $90k we expect damn near perfection, but they definitely fell (extremely) short in so many aspects. Current update: Our turf has melted in one area behind our pool, that issue was never resolved even after reaching out a couple times and being assured we would hear back and now our spa coping is crumbling apart after a few short years and we have to pay thousands out of pocket to get this fixed.

From the 3D design, demo, dig, concrete, and fill we always felt like we were part of the team. We have a small backyard and side yard which in which we have a camper. We've be using Aqua System Pool for chemicals for about a year. Several months ago, their…read moretechnician was at our house and when he was leaving I asked him to go back to look at something. When we got back to the pool, the floating chlorine tab holder was bubbling over. As we were standing there, it exploded. Then it exploded again and I decided to go the house. The technician got the long pole with the net and as he scooped it out it exploded several more times. Apparently, the technician put two chemicals that are not supposed to be mixed together in the float. He said, "wow that's never happened before." He also said that he'd only been with the company for a short time and really never got any training. After that, we noticed that there white stains on the bottom of the pool that weren't there before. I called Blake the owner and he and his manager Luke came out to look at it. They acknowledged that there were stains and the only way to fix it was to drain the water and acid wash the pool. They offered to do it at no cost to us. On the day it was to be done Luke the manager showed up to do the work without a pump. Due to a scheduling misunderstanding, I had offered to empty the pool myself the previous day and he apparently thought it was ok to use my pump and hose. When Luke started the work i was concerned. I watched several YouTube videos beforehand to familiarize myself with the process and this was not like anything i had watched. Luke was in shorts, bare feet and a paper mask. All the videos i watched showed the person with long pants, long sleeve shirt, rubber boots, and a respirator. After all, it is acid. Also, Luke was by himself but in all the videos i watched there were always two people. Luke used a sprayer like you'd use to spray weeds on your yard - a fine mist - to apply the acid wash. He would spray a section then rinse it off with our expanding hose without a nozzle. All the videos i watched show one person pouring on the acid wash mixture with a pitcher - a heavy pour that would completely saturate the wall and wash from the top to the bottom. There was always a second person with a hose rinsing off the wall right after it was poured. Long story short, the completed acid wash made the pool look much worse than it did before he started. I sent a picture of the pool to Blake the owner and said i thought there was a problem. After several text messages where Blake tried to convince me this was normal, he agreed to come out and look at it. After a few weeks of me following up and him telling me they were really busy right now, he came out to look at it and take some pictures. He said he was going to need some time to compare before and after pictures then he would get back to me After several more weeks of me following up, Blake got back to me with his answer. He said he didn't see any problem and he wasn't going to do anything about it. We had many texts about it after that but Blake refused to change his decision. Now our pool has all the white blotches from the chemical reaction plus a lot of new stains caused by Aqua System Pool doing the acid wash incorrectly.
