Stopped by this hardware store to get some keys made. The staff was super friendly and really nice, which made the experience pleasant. Unfortunately, one of the keys didn't work, so it ended up being a waste of money. The store is a bit far for me, so going back to have it fixed wasn't worth it, especially with gas prices. It was easier to just take the loss and have it remade somewhere closer. That's the only reason for the four instead of five, because their customer service really was great. read more

This guy is like a plumbing savant or something . He is always there to teach, explain or just help you find what you need. He is also happy to tell you what you need if you don't know. Spent almost $1,000.00 here today and received the worst service possible. The cashier, a large woman with short blonde hair and glasses was not only unfriendly but took a personal phone call from one of " her girls" while I stood there and waited for her to finish. We were in the middle of a transaction. The help in the back was just as bad. Each clerk had an attitude of non help. I met three and none were helpful or polite. The ONLY person who was friendly and helpful was the little Hispanic man on the dock. We will never return. These employees should look for work where they do not have to engage with real customers. They are a sad representation of Hanks Hardware and some of the worst I have ever encountered. They were snarky, rude and disrespectful. No thanks Hank! read more

They have anything you need, including any individual type and size of screws, nails, steel and aluminum rods and sheets, etc etc. and the guys working there know their stuff. It is like an ACE or TruValue on steroids. Home Depot has almost everything, but I don't necessarily want to buy 50 screws when I only need 2. Plus the Home Depot guys don't know anything. Location - In the back area of Temecula in the Enterprise Circle. Parking - Small lot but plenty of street parking. Venue - Good size with a great selection. Prices - Fair pricing on most items. I'm writing this review on behalf of my husband who is fast becoming a regular at Hank's. He is super handy and always doing repairs and improvements to our home. While he regularly shops at Home Depot, more and more he finds himself heading to Hank's. This place is what a hardware store should be - they have everything you could possibly imagine! When pondering how to approach a repair or what kind of wall anchor to use, the staff there are always super helpful. Prices are also very reasonable. What an interesting place. I heard from a person that knew a person that said they might have the item I am looking for... yes one of those. So my ac is out and I don't want to pay a few 100$ for a capacitor replacement. We all know how how Temecula is in august and this is one of those times you pray your HVAC doesn't fail. Mine did. After looking at the nearest HD or Lowe's I'm not finding any capacitors and I really don't like getting price gouged either. We call a friend and they said they had a friend that went to hanks recently and they have some. AWESOME, I don't even want to wait for two day delivers from Amazon. Head down to hanks, right when they open and I'm about 15 min early. An older gentlemen walked up to my car and says I can open early if you need. I gladly accept! Store looks small...and I ask where the capacitors are, he points behind the desk and says I'm welcome to have a seat and look. Wow... seriously? OK I accept again as he pours his coffee. I can tell he really is just getting started for the day. I find the one I need and it's just a few dollars. Much better than paying a repairman 300$ for a 10$ part and 10 minutes work. I ask if there are some brackets, he tells me the isle and points to the back. THIS PLACE IS HUGE! OK After about 15 min wondering around and looking at things I grab my bracket, pay, and leave. What a place! So it's not Home Depot but it is a local private businessman with decent prices. I loved shopping there and it felt great to support his business. I would highly recommend instead of Home Depot or Lowes, However I am annoyed that I got charged twice the price for a wood glue product, when I got home I realized that, the price on the shelf was $23 but they charged me $38, amazon had it for $19, I called but got put on hold forever, so I returned it today. Great store! They have so many products that aren't available at the big box stores. I am disappointment that some people gave them 1 star because they weren't enforcing the mask mandate in our state. The attorney general says that the governor does not have legal authority to mandate masks. ... He said that the act of attaching criminal penalty to the mandate makes it a law, which the governor doesn't have the authority to do, even under the Emergency Management and Disaster Law. There are many who have medical issues and were advised by their doctors not to wear one. Someone who overrides a doctors orders is now in the business of practicing medicine and in this case without a license. It is a slippery slope for a business owner. Please give them a break. I have been a customer here for many years and used to love coming into this store. They have a sign outside the front doors that clearly states "Mask Required" yet when you walk in, half the people including the employees as well as Hank himself aren't wearing one ! WTF ? It says Mask Required but you don't enforce it and can't follow through with it yourself ? Total disrespect whether you believe the virus is real or not. The ladies at the front are awesome and super nice. Had some bald guy literally run into me. From behind as I was waiting to check to buy my stuff. Thought it was a customer at first then he went and sat behind the checkout at a desk. Could he not have said excuse me?? I would of happily moved over a little. It was the same guy that was supposed to come help me find the parts I was looking for that never came to help. I will never go to a big box store again. Full disclosure, I'm a fan of independently owned businesses. So, perhaps I'm prone to give a good review. But listen to me. This Place Has Everything You Need It looks somewhat small on the outside but once you get inside it completely opens up. Their assortment of fasteners, nuts, screws, bolts, tools, is far and above better than all of the big box stores combined. No, I'm not exaggerating. I needed a bolt for the undercarriage of my car (long story, I stripped a bolt). None of the auto part stores had it. The dealership didn't have it. This was my Hail Mary and I'll be damned if they didn't catch the ball in the end zone (I'm not sure I should use Hail Mary and damned in the same sentence). I guess there are some negative reviews in here for the customer service. If you want to be coddled and pampered in a hardware store than by all means leave a crappy review. But, when I walked in and showed my bolt to the cashier she recognized immediately it was an automotive part and told me right away to hit up JP. When I asked JP where my bolt my be located he knew exactly where. And by 'exactly' I mean he walked me down four aisles pointed to one bin in the midst of thousands (not an exaggeration) to exact bin I needed. To me THAT is excellent customer service. After finding my part I walked around admiring the selection. I remembered a job from my honey do list and bought another part. This store is further than others from me but I won't be going there. I've been going to Hanks for 20 years. Most of their prices are better than the big box stores, but they have an incredible assortment. Hanks will sell you a single nut or bolt for a nickel. Good luckndoing that elsewhere. I've restored multiple cars with their stainless and grade 8 hardware. If you haven't been to the molding store across the street, you're missing out.
