There's a sign outside that says skip the line by ordering through Uber eats or Doordash however when using doordash it made pick up for over an hour. It was confirmed and updated to prepping. However neither were true based on what the cashier said, we couldn't cancel it and there was nothing they could do since their system hadn't gotten the order apparently. They weren't willing to make the order beforehand and told us we'd just have to make another order and figure doordash out ourselves. Cashier said that the sign only was regarding the Teaspoon app but that's not true. Then when we called doordash they said the manager confirmed they got the order and y processing it, but she was the one telling the cashier that there was no order received or being prepped. Ridiculous. Drinks are fine. Wouldn't come back and definitely will tell friends/family not to. I think they should remove the sign since it just made us wait significantly longer and they themselves don't know what's on it. Wasted an hour here. In response to the owner: Yes I know there's a line to order inside, that's how we ordered in person. but we thought it'd be more convenient to order online and pick up. Your manager still lied about receiving the order and refused to help us with the situation. Didn't speak to us once and left the poor cashier to deal with us instead. When my sister spoke to doordash we had ordered our drinks in person and it had been less than five minutes since then. How do you go from telling someone that you can't find an order, can't help them cancel it or start it now to trying to keep doordash from cancelling the order by telling them you're working on it five minutes later? Seems like a cheap tactic to scam customers out of money. She knew we had already ordered and didn't tell doordash oh they came in and ordered in person bc our system was having issues. My husband and I come here frequently despite it being across town. The online ordering is always timely and they have never gotten our order incorrect despite us doing alterations and additions. The staff are also friendly and polite every time. I almost always get taro lover as I was doing zero caffeine during pregnancy and I was also grateful they had other caffeine free options as well. Their reward system is decent if you have an account and it is way more convenient than a punch card. I have been wanting to go to Teaspoon for the longest time. Hubby and I was in the area after eating so we decided to stop by Teaspoon to grab a drink before heading home. Upon arriving the staff greeted us and we were able to take a few minutes to look at their menu to see what we wanted to get. I ended up getting the Strawberry Sangria and Hubby got the Thai Tea. When I ordered the Strawberry Sangria, the employee asked me if I wanted it lightly sweetened or regular. I asked for light, but I believe because of the strawberries it still made the drink pretty sweet. I really enjoyed the drink, and I'm looking forward to try their other ones. This place has been consistently above average the past few times we've been here! So happy they opened up near our home located off Hesperian - nothing really exciting happens on this side of the bay! They have a side parking lot with plenty of parking. I've tried their regular milk tea with boba and jasmine milk tea with boba (all with less ice and 25% sweet). The sweetness level is perfect for me with a subtle sweetness to it. The boba is always spot on - not hard like it's been sitting out. The tea flavors are fresh and flavorful as well. They have other unique flavors here that you can't get elsewhere. Lastly, the prices are standard for the bay, about 5-6$ per drink. Although its quite pricey, you are getting quality boba drinks that's done pretty well. read more

On my first visit to Teaspoon, the service and drinks deserve four stars! I decided to go with the recommendation of the nice young lady taking the orders. For my beverage, I chose Classic Milk Tea with Honey Boba as is. The drink, in my opinion, was the perfect combination of sweetness and tea flavor. The reason I had to knock it down one star is because I had higher expectations of the bakery section. I settled on a slice of lemon cake, which wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Along with the lemon cake, I chose two macaroons: one chocolate and one matcha. I gave the chocolate one a 2/5 due to the center being thick like a slice of frozen butter. The matcha macaroon was much better, and I gave it a 4/5 because it had the texture of a macaroon. My personal favorite is their Grasshopper drink, the cucumber juice is refreshing and goes very well with the lychee green tea. But their regular black or green milk tea are both very good too. Decided to give this place a try. Love the flavors of drinks that are different from other boba tea stores. So definitely a nice additional to Hayward area and not just another very similar boba stores that are now abundant. One thing that I would like to see is in terms of sweetness consistency. Got two drinks with 30% sweetness but one tasted very tart with no sweetness at all, while the other was very sweet that I got a mild sugar rush headache. Hope they'll continue to adjust and make the sweetness level more consistent between drinks since they need to adjust for the amount of sugar with all the other things added such as flavored syrups, fruits, etc. More considerations but this is how you perfect the art of boba drinks! read more

I was a little hesitant about trying this place during their soft opening but glad I took a chance! The quickly that used to be here was my very first go to boba place years ago when boba first came to the bay. I stopped going there but I was a little sad to see them go..:until I saw that there was going to be a teaspoon! I remember the one in San Mateo with the unique flavors and rooibos tea that's good for pregnant women. I used their app to order as suggested by another yelper. I couldn't schedule an order ahead of time. It kept saying that they need more time to make it even though I put an hour later so I just did the ASAP option and it was ready in 15 minutes. Parking was easy and there weren't too many people waiting for their drinks. The man helping me was friendly and my drinks were done on time. I tried my usual matcha strawberry which was up to par. I tried the brown sugar crystal boba and realized that I'm not a fan. It just has a cartilage texture. I tried my husbands honey boba and it was perfectly made. The part that I love the most is that they can split the cup for only 25 cents! I hope they don't change that. Other places charge $1. It's perfect for kids since they can't finish the big ones. Then they're happy that they have their own cup instead of sharing straws. I took off a star because they don't have as many drink choices, not sure if it's because it's the soft opening but once they offer more drinks, I'll change my stars. I want to try the Silk Strawberry next but I fell in love with the mango so I came back again for it. The smaller menu is not a deal breaker because I'm here for the quality! I'm also here for really friendly staff. Plus I don't try 20 or 30 drinks when I go to a boba shop. My fiancé would probably try the watermelon one when that one comes out though! Came here on Jan 29 when my parents wanted some boba. Place had somewhat of line when we arrived but that's only because there's only room for 1-2 groups inside to order. Today I came to try 2 drinks, 2 "creamy" drinks to be exact. We got the Creamy Jasmine as well as the Liquid Gold. Pros: The boba is nice and soft but chewy at the same time, the tea flavor is strong and you can taste the real tea essence. Cons: I ordered the drink with no ice cause we were going to go out later and the ice would melt and dilute the drink. However, even without the ice, the drinks were really watered down. The creamy/milky flavor and texture was severely lacking. It tasted as if I had a half cup of ice that melted even though I had no ice at all. Not sure if it's a fluke or what but I think I'll skip these and stick to the fruity teas next time. read more

I love teaspoon and I'm so happy they opened one in Hayward!!!! I'm not sure how long they're having their soft opening but the soft opening schedule is Wednesday - Sunday from 12PM - 7PM. PARKING Big lot. I came during a pandemic so it wasn't too busy. SERVICE The employees are so nice. From the minute I entered, they were welcoming me to teaspoon and asking me if this was my first time.
