    U Undercooked chicken
    Salman T.

I wish I could give them 0 stars! Our chicken was not fully cooked. When we called & explained this to the employee: Maria we had also requested that they cook up a fresh batch for us so we wouldn't have to wait long after having to bring back the undercooked chicken they sold us. She was rude and adamant that the chicken could not have been raw and wanted us to bring the chicken back first for inspection. We had no choice so we went back down there and it was then that she apologized and also got another batch. That's should've been the end of it. However, after we got the new batch home: long and behold...the chicken is undercooked AGAIN. Now when I say this, J mean the meat is chewy as you get closer to the bone, which is PINK with bloody-red marrow--just to be CLEAR. We called back and I asked them if they expected us to cook the chicken we paid for, too. Even after this first incident, she was STILL adamant that their cooking process was fine and told me to tell her manager, TOMORROW. They refused to acknowledge their dangerous error or to consider the possibility that there may have been a flaw with their equip ent and/or cooking process. As I am more concerned for the public's health than she is, I am astonished that she dismisses me to sell another customer this chicken before coming back in the phone. 0 accountability on their part, just like what their rating should be. In the meanwhile. I don't know what the outcome will be as my kids consumed some of this undercooked chicken as did I(!). No refund. No reasonable accommodation. No apology. Now I'm forced to do the job I paid for: cook and have concerns of what tomorrow may bring regarding the pieces of uncooked chicken consumed. ***It should also be noted that they built this business with the help of the Muslim community by selling halal, initially. The. When business built up. They stopped using halal chicks to try the lower costs. When this negatively impacted business, they reverted back to selling halal again. I wouldn't advise ANYONE to go hey

Gas station fried chicken? Best idea ever! For a 2 piece meal, it's not dry. It's super juicy, got some spice to it, and the batter is indeed crispy. I think I'd prefer this over kfc anyday.

Honestly, everything really was bland for me. It's like most of the places that suppose to sell Southern food in the Bay Area is missing down home flavor in their food. The biscuits didn't taste like honey butter was on it and very dry. The chicken was season-less especially the rice and beans and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes tasted so watered down. I can't come back.

*****Customer Experience During the COVID-19 Pandemic***** I was running errands in the Hayward/Union City area on 07/11/2020 when I received a text from my fried chicken-loving brother, asking if I could pick up some fried chicken for dinner at this KKC. Knowing how much he wanted this, I obliged. I pulled into the Valero station at the corner of Winton and Hesperian, where this KKC is located, at around 5 pm. Initially, I was hesitant to enter because there was an unsheltered man lying on the ground right outside. But I didn't want to disappoint my brother so I braved it and went inside. Although the interior was small, there was sufficient room for social distancing. Some safety measures were implemented for the safety of patrons and the staff. I ordered a 12-piece chicken tender family meal plus a 16-piece dark box. The total was $40. The family who runs this enterprise was very cheerful and friendly. They left a very good impression with me. While waiting for my food, I was talking to a man who seemed to know his fried chicken. He said out of many KKCs he had tried, this one is the best. The food was pretty decent. The batter of the chicken was very crunchy and the meat was moist and flavorful. The fries (more like wedges) were okay. The biscuits were very good and I especially loved the blueberry ones. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area and would recommend this place to others. BONUS MATERIAL: - Major credit cards accepted.

There was a whole bunch of gentleman working there. The gentleman that was at the register quickly turned to me and said can I take your order please? I I'm not quite ready yet thank you. He said how many pieces of chicken would you like? I said not just ready yet. Then he began to take my order and I ordered two pieces of chicken and a side of fries. I must say that chicken was very moist very flavorful. The pieces of chicken I had had so much meat on them very delicious seasoned very well. Are usually not a fan of potato wedges however they were very good. And now I'm stuffed five stars thanks crispy chicken

We always pass by this place on the way home and one night we decided to try it. Visit was on 7/12/22. The chicken was VERY crispy! However the actual flavor was too salty for us especially on the skin. If the saltiness were dialed down a bit it would have been perfect. Another star down due to the wrong order. We requested for gravy only but was given Mashed potatoes instead. The mashed potatoes were okay.

Chile! Gas station chicken? Can I get a hell yes?! I was always super curious about the actual setting of this place. I used to always order delivery because once I tried this chicken at a party, I was impressed. We always order Krispy Krunchy for parties now. This was my actual first time going in to order. This is a typical Valero gas station with the food on display at the register. Tita is taking the order and Tito is frying up chicken in the back. The service is gas station service but the chicken is lit! Tip: Go a little before lunch time. I got there at 12 and was the second in line, but when I got out of line, there were 10 people behind me. I got my food pretty fast. The mashed potatoes and gravy were pretty good and the wedges. The Mac and cheese was just OK and the chicken speaks for itself. I've had my fair share of KFC, Popeye's, Jollibee, Church's and KKC tops them all. I don't think I'm going back.

    The chicken is in there!

I came here with my husband around 6PM. No line, no wait. At first looking for fried chicken joints, this is the last place I would be like HEY LETS GO HERE! It is located inside the gas station. Yep. A gas station. Again, not the first place I would think of getting chicken but I guess you can't judge it by the store front? HA! I have to say I was not disappointed. It is the BEST cajun style fried chicken I had. We ordered the 12 piece mix dark/white meat. It was a lot for 2 people. I usually don't like chicken breast because it is super dry and not as good as the thighs, wings, or drumsticks. This place though, changed my mind about all meat. The chicken breast was so juicy, tender, and full of flavor. You have to tell me how you do it! Long story short, I will come back. Probably try the other food option and maybe some of their sauces too.

TL;DR: Literally crispy crunchy fried chicken. Very yummy. Thoughts: Located at the Valero gas station in the intersection of Winton and Hesperian, this unassuming place has some legit Cajun style fried chicken! I stopped by here after shopping at Southland Mall nearby on the Black Friday. I ordered the 8 pieces dark meat fried chicken ($8.99); it came with 4 thighs and 4 drumsticks. The service was efficient; I got my order within a minute or two. The fried chicken was BOMB: juicy on the inside and crispy + crunchy on the outside. Being in Cajun style added a nice spicy kick to the flavor. Highly recommended.

Definitely would order again Mac & Cheese 2/10: The seasoning on the Mac wasn't really good or there, it tasted almost watered down if I could put it into words? but the noodles were pretty good nevertheless. Sheesh, scary stuff and that was it for da ohana. My work team, on the other hand, still likes to go. Love the fries, that spice they use is kickin' and the sando is mouth watering. My big complaint is consistency. Order the medium every time and getting the right heat experience is almost like going fishing. Sometimes it's mild and chill, other times it's a scorcher, and once in a while, you smile and feel they got it right. For me that is key, I need to know what I am getting and they get it right maybe 30 percent of the time. For baseball, that is a decent ERA, but for food, nah that's not right. And then, every now and then, someone else gets there first and picks up our order. Not real big on the apologies or making sure peeps picking up the right bags. Cool lookin' truck, good food, when they get it right, and when our order is actually there for pick up, but miss the mark a bit too often.

This tiny spot does one thing -- and they do it incredibly well. Their menu is simple: crispy, juicy fried chicken paired with rice and a side of tangy, refreshing coleslaw. Since we got it to go, I can't speak to the location nor its vibe. The order: Soy Garlic chicken wings -These wings are currently the Standard Bar which other Soy Garlic Korean Fried Chicken Wings are compared to. It has a well seasoned batter that is not too thick, has crunch and flavor even with the soy garlic sauce. The soy garlic sauce is Garlic forward with a nice amount of sweetness. Medium Spicy Chicken Wings -The batter was well seasoned, and the spice takes a second or two to kick in. The spice level of medium is probably as hot as I would enjoy (normal enjoyable max spice level is hot Cheetos). To me, it is soy garlic with a kick up underlying spice. Sweet Potato Fries -A nice toasted sweetness on the outside and a very soft sweet potato inside. Goes great with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Onion Rings -The batter on these were surprisingly tasty with a nice crunch to them. They weren't soggy and they had a delicious like taste to them (maybe corn batter). If you like onion rings, then these are worth a taste. Rice -Their rice was as perfect as rice can be. I always enjoy eating some rice with my chicken. The rice also came in handy to cool things down when eating the spicier wings.

We came here with his siblings for a Saturday lunch (5 of us in total) and Eli immediately greeted us and gave us the full rundown of the menu and the story of how his mom and him came to own this place. We decided to actually just eat outside to be able to enjoy the food right away. Once Eli saw we were going to eat there, he was super accommodating and brought us a ton of napkins, salads, extra pickled daikon, and even some drinks! He even brought his mom Esther out to chat with us and it was so wholesome to hear their story! Food - 5/5* AMAZING. We ordered the Volcano Island (spicy) chicken, the Mama Seoul's signature chicken, and some pickled radish. We actually preferred the Mama Seoul's signature (his mom's recipe) over the Volcano island (the original store's recipe that they kept since it was a fan favorite), but they were both super crunchy, juicy, and flavorful. We were also lucky enough to try some of their salad. We learned that the radish and salad dressing were all Esther's own recipes and they paired really well with the chicken. The radish had such amazing crunch and freshness, and the salad dressing was light and tangy. We loved it so much, we actually bought a pint of the salad dressing to take home! All in all, Eli and Esther made us feel like we were eating dinner at their house. Looking forward to coming back again from Fremont (with friends!) and trying more of their KFC flavors and all the other dishes they have to offer.
