I thought about not writing this review because I don't want yall to blow up my affordable Chinese food spot with amazing food. It's hard to not want to gate keep this place. Asia delight is a humble "point point" combo based Chinese food place. Think authentic Panda Express. Super affordable place where you can get a 2 item combo with chow mein/fried rice for $12.49. My go to is Chow mein, Chinese pork bbq, and the black pepper beef. This location appears to be the only one that carries the Chinese pork bbq. On the side my wife and I split either the salt n pepper fish or chicken wings. A medium gets you about 6-8 pieces of chicken wings. Super solid and they don't skimp on the amount on anything. So the value is there! Low key is enough to spread out into two meals. Staff is direct and efficient. Quick with packing up your items and moving it to the cashiers for you to pay out. They have about 4-6 tables inside with chairs/slide in bench's. Basically a quick spot to grab food and eat or take it to go. read more

I finally got to try Asia Delight Express in Hayward for the first time! You know what? I wasn't missing anything! Asia Delight Express is chinese fast food. Prepared foods are on a steam table or under hot lights. You pick a meal combo, and they serve it onto foam trays. Then they suggestive sell add-on's and drinks. The formula for success is simple: - tasty food, big portions, and affordable prices. People rave about this place on social media, so I have to come check it out. So it's Friday around dinner time. I'm cruising on Hesperian Blvd in the right lane. I pass the Valero station and realize.....this is where Asia Delight is! They have a dining area with 4-6 small square tables. But the tables looked dirty, and the whole place looked untidy. But the steam table counter looked beautiful. It was loaded with hot food and each tray seemed to be full. Two ladies and one young man were serving. The young man did a good job taking and serving orders. I decide to get the Combo B for $9.45. - fried rice/ chow mein + 2 entrees I got fried rice, black bean spare ribs, chicken w/ string beans in gravy. How was it? No flavor! I stopped by after a few years hoping for the same classics I used to love, especially the salt and pepper fish and pork chops. The combos I picked up just didn't land the same. The fish and pork chops were mostly batter with barely any meat, and the orange chicken leaned pretty greasy. The chow mein and fried rice were also on the dry side, which didn't help. A nice place for a cheap and quick lunch. The staff are fast and friendly. They are located in a small shopping center so there is plenty parking available. Easy to get to off the jackson freeway and Hesperian blvd. I ordered a 3 item meal with chow fun noodles, sesame chicken and broccoli and beef, all for under $11. Super economical. However the flavor and meat to breading was very off for me. The food is not as flavorful and greasy. The chicken was mainly fluff and barely any meat. My Kids and I love this place! We always get Combo B. 2 items with Half Fried Rice Half Chow Mein. Sometimes we also get large box with just meat. The Sesame chicken is very tasty. I love the Mongolian Beef also but sometimes is just way to much onions than the beef. This location is in a very small shopping center with other stores with very limited parking spaces. Used to love this place in my 20's. But I've learned that they charge you for bags without telling you. They also TAX you on the bags without telling you. All grocery stores ask. I'm disappointed that I drove from San Jose. Sat in traffic. And was told that the price they charged was correct. There are hard working men that come to find affordable places to eat during lunch. Me and my family haven't eaten all day due to having many things we had to do. We passed by and my girlfriend saw Asia Delight and told us she saw it going viral on TikTok. Maan the food was so bad, we all ordered different types of chicken with rice and chow mein and most of us couldn't even eat half of it due to it having a weird/bad taste and it having too hard of a texture as if it were old but just reheated. I've been to thos place a few times. Last night near closing time, I'd decided to buy a B combo which consists of two orders and rice. There were two Hispanic women who were trying to figure out what to get. The lady who took care of them decided to bypass them and asked if she could help me. I'd told her to take care of the two ladies because they were first. The ladies wanted a couple of dishes that the placed had ran out of. However. The lady told them that she was willing to make more of the two choices, orange and almond chicken. I'd noticed that the green beans and chicken tray was empty too. I'd asked the lady if she'd be willing to make that too. She'd replied by saying no. I'd responded and asked, "Why not? Seeing you're willing to make the two options for the ladies?" She'd told me that she'll only cook those two. So I'd moved away from the topic. After a few minutes of the lady customers finally making up their minds. They'd decided to order something else instead, which didn't require the lady to have the people in the back to cook. Seeing that were the case. I'd asked the lady could she cook the green beans chicken. Her reply, "I'd told you that I wasn't going to cook it." I'd replied by saying, "Yes. But that was only after you'd pointed out that you were going to cook what the ladies wanted. Obviously, they'd changed their minds. So what changed outside of that?" Her reply was that they only have a few minutes before closing. But that was the same time frame with the other ladies. Basically. No major time shift change. It was apparent to me that this place is selectivr to who they will cater too. Long story short. I'd declined ordering food last night. And will never buy from this place again. Had I'd ordered. I'd disrespect myself by allowing that lady to disrespect me by being selective and lying. It's the viewers choice. But I give warning. There are a couple of the women, both Chinese. Who are rude. I settled for fried rice, beef and broccoli, and green beans and chicken. Service was quick and they get you out within minutes. Small little hole in the wall but has good food. Cant complain about a place that gives you the most bang for your buck! Asia Delight Express is a Chinese food spot tucked away in a plaza right before a freeway. Its a bit easy to miss! However, this place has been one of my parents favorite food spots to quickly grab for dinner/lunch etc. Dont expect a fancy restaurant coming here, after all its in the name: "Express". You come in, grab your food, and head out! They pack your plate for I believe $7.99/$8.99 ish. Think Panda Express but a FULL container. I love when places like these do not skimp you on your food. Of course, I will always love Panda Express, but my heart has a special place for the OG Mom and Pop Chinese food spots. Their food is super yummy, and flavorful each time. However, I must say, a lot of it is reaaallly oily when eating it, so just be aware of that!
