I haven't been here since they moved from Castro Valley and I have to say, I was very disappointed. I used to visit frequently. I did a full order of boneless chicken to go, half soy garlic and half yangnyum, and WOW was it dry and somewhat flavorless. There was a sign on the register that said 50 cents for extra sauce but really? There was barely on the chicken to begin with - only one side of most of the chicken had sauce on it. I didn't think I needed to ask for it to be coated on both sides. It used to come drenched in sauce. I made it home within 10 minutes and the chicken wasn't *super* crispy like it used to be (even after it sitting out a while). The boneless pieces seem to be smaller than what they used to be while the prices went up...inflation is understandable but I noticed I was charged more than what the website posted as well as the to-go menu that I received in the bag. Please update your pricing. The customer service was pleasant but that doesn't save the chicken. I'm sorry to have to say I probably won't be back. If I do, it'll be at a different location - hopefully the recipes haven't changed everywhere. Vons Chicken has been my go to for fried chicken since the start of this shelter in place. They make a mean crispy fried chicken and crispy garlic chicken. The spicy level is the perfect amount of spice. Orders of fried chicken come with coleslaw and pickled radish on the side. I did manage to dine here before the SIP. At that time, I tried the yangyum chicken, which was a bit too sweet and saucy for me. Service was also lacking, which was also an issue I had when this place used to be a Korean tofu house. However, since the SIP, I have ordered takeout twice and have not had any issues. I was surprised that they became a fried chicken place since The Chicken on Fire is on the same block as them. If I were to compare the two, I'd say The Chicken on Fire does better on service and on the more saucy flavors. It's sudden appearance in CV definitely was surprising, but with it's popularity in the South Bay does intrigue me for how it'll do (especially being near Chicken on Fire).
