In my line of work I visit a lot of Targets. This is one of my favorites because it always seems that they have sale items out before others. I can't stand this Target. If I have to choose between this one and Mira Mesa, Mira Mesa wins based on parking lot alone. The employees here are nice enough and there is a good selection but it just isn't worth trying to squeeze between two badly parked SUVs to buy cheap furniture and home care products. But I'd rather gouge out my own eyes than go to Wal Mart so I end up at this Target every few months. The store itself is great: clean bathrooms, a café I'd visit if I didn't want to get out of the store so badly, and fairly well stocked merchandise. Some of the OTC pharmaceuticals are even comparable to Costco bulk prices with is pretty good, and it's often the exact same manufactures as the Costco ones. Clothes selection is kind of crappy but I don't really go to Target for clothes anyway. So... parking lot is terrible, but store inside is decent... but parking lot is bad enough to turn me off entirely. We'll call it 3 stars because although my personal gut reaction is two, it isn't their fault that they have a handful of parking places and they're all overrun by SUV drivers who can't figure out where the lines are. read more

Most Targets are the same, or so I thought. But then I went into this one, and although it began a normal Target experience, soon i really felt that I was in Poway and not in any other Target. How did I know I was seeing how the other half lives? They sell Origins here--something I have never ever ever seen in any other Target. Also in the cosmetic area, in addition to other higher end cosmetics, was an attendant in the event that I needed any help with the products. It was so strange, I guess this is the Poway of life. Oh Target, on Pomerado road how do I love the? Let me count the ways....... 1. You have one the best parking lots ever. there is plenty of parking for all and I have NEVER gotten into a parking lot altercation. It's easy to manuver and that is ALWAYS a plus. 2. Your location is always stocked well and super clean. I can always find whatever I need without trouble. Your make-up section is wonderful and it doesn't look like teenagers have opened it all up. 3. Your check-out lanes never have long lines and plenty of checkers to help me out. 4. Your store is large and bever feels too crowded. Target is my happy place. Cheap build it yourself furniture from ClosetMaid is really crappy here. I am more satisfied with the Mainstays brand from Walmart. Who would have thought?!? Here's the difference. The particle board material is better looking, better stained and feels better to the touch. Mainstays has very detailed instructions with each product. Mainstays also individually wraps each screw/nail and has them labeled for even the dumbest of dumb DIY-er. The Mainstays product also was heavier and seemed like it would last longer. ClosetMaid was unorganized, flimsy and not packaged well. Please upgrade the brand you carry or mark ClosetMaid at an even lower price. Thanks. read more

This Target store reminded me of the Grocery outlet in Point Loma. Just awkward-the aura, the people, the workers. The parking lot here is ridiculous. You have cars on top of cars and I've witnessed a lot of people being lazy up in this lot. Why, when there are so many return cart spaces would you ever EVER leave a cart in the parking lot next to someone else's car? Why? If you walked into target to buy your icecream or cheetohs-SURELY you could have walked 15 more steps to return the damn cart?! People-stop being lazy!!! I did, however, enjoy the cartwheel app for Target. Saved about 25 bucks alone this trip. Yay for Cartwheel app! read more

I have been an on/off fan of Target over the many oodles of years I've been a customer. The recent theft of credit/bank card data of their customers has really gotten to me though. The issuances of apologies haven't been really helpful if someone has my data. So now I have to constantly monitor my credit to ensure that my info hasn't been used in any way that may cause major problems for me. Also over the years I've seen a decline in quality of clothing from the store. I used to be able to purchase a shirt or sweater and have it last for a few years, but now when I purchase something it barely lasts a month. I've had to return several pieces of clothing because of bad sewing or just terrible flaws after wearing it for a short period. I've had the same issue with sheets/blankets from Target. Very poor quality. I've gotten outdoor string lighting to put in my backyard, and bulbs have blown out after a few uses. In general, I'm not really thrilled with the quality of much at Target. I really have liked going there for office supplies, wrapping paper, cards, general things like soap, hangers, organizing items, etc., but the prices over the years have also increased, and I feel I can get the same, if not better quality somewhere else at better prices. I'm definitely not picking on this particular Target, but just Target in general. The newest Target in Escondido Mall is terrible. Can never really find anything there...clothes section is the worst I've ever seen in any store. The Poway one is much better. But it's always inundated with a huge crowd and takes a while to get thru the line. In general, unless I have to go to a Target for something I know I can find quickly, I try to shop at other places to find what I'm looking for. read more

I regularly don't write reviews and I am usually pretty easy to please as I do have a lot of sympathy for retail workers as I worked at Macy's for 14 years however I have become pretty upset with my recent experiences at the Poway Target especially with Jessica who appears to be a Manager. In my last three visits to my local Target it appears to me that Jessica really lacks any care for not only the guests she (barely) tries to help at Guest Service or the Cashiers who she is supposed to be a leader for. Twice at Guest Service I have tried to do a simple exchanges of clothes yet based on her attitude and reaction you would think I was trying to return the remains of a Popsicle stick for the price of a Popsicle. Throughout both encounters she had a very rude tone and seemed very condescending to me and the other guest encounters I witnessed in her slow line, While she did do both simple exchanges it seemed to really take a lot out of her even though it is your job. The other recent time I noticed Jessica's "work ethic" was while I was in line with a young Female cashier who appeared to be new but did very well, The cashier was trying to alert Jessica for help with the transaction yet this took a few minutes as she seemed to be talking to a taller male leader on the side and while she noticed she didn't feel like coming over at that moment, then after she did move to "help", the young cashier tried to remind Jessica that her lunch was coming up and she needed to go but Jessica ignored this and walked away with a smirk as if she didn't care about her employee's basic need. Worst of all after she left the Cashier seemed to imply that this a regular occurrence with a sad shrug. Unfortunately due to these experiences I have now started going to the Del Sur Target as while it is a longer drive I feel its worth it to not deal with Jessica who appears to be a sad loathsome women with more in common with Mrs Trunchbull from Matilda than any Manager I have had over my years. The two stars are for the clean store and all the other nice Employees I encountered throughout but no stars are for Jessica. read more

This Target deserves a better review... but... The sad fact is they have a pretty disgusting setup with their women's restrooms. No paper towels and NO WAY to get out of the room except to use your hand and open the door using the handle. Really surprising in this day and age. The remodel with the fresh grocery is AHHH-MAAA-ZING! I love Target. i worked there for 3 years in my teens and worked so many different departments and couldn't get enough of it. Alas, it wasn't lucrative enough for me, so I moved on. But I swear, if it paid mad cash? I'd still be working at Target. That's how much I love the store. Of course, all stores are not created equal. This particular store pre-remodel was laid out EXACTLY like the one in my hometown in Montana was, which I found comforting and nostalgic. But the remodel has done wonders for the place. The grocery selection is broader than I expected. You're not going to find the extent of variety you'd have shopping at a Ralphs or a Vons, so realign your expectations if that is what you are looking forward to here. It is nice to get most of everything in one spot, although price-wise I am unsure if it really is a money-saver. If you have a Target debit or credit card, you get 5% off everything, which I always take advantage of (and pay off the card right away). It seems like a small amount to save, but it all adds up fast. The problem with me is that I can't just go into Target and leave with what I had on my list. This is also the problem that 99% of other people have, which is probably why the company does so well. And may very well be a part of why we are "the 99%." There are some major drawbacks to the changes: - Parking is totally "effed in the a." It was a struggle to find decent parking in this shopping complex before the remodel at peak hours. Now it is pretty much a problem at all hours, at least all of the ones I have visited. - They don't ever seem to have enough cashiers on staff. I have noticed they left a gigantic open area next to the cash registers and have had a lot of cashiers in training, so I can only assume they will be adding more registers and employees soon enough. read more

Why go to walmart when you can go to target? This location is clean and has good customer service. I noticed that the seasonal stuff appears in this target before some of the other ones I have seen. It's sad but true, target has decent clothing! Buy the trendy pieces here and spend more $ on stables elsewhere. read more

Tonight I had very bad experience to return an item at this store. It was about 7:25 when I entered the store and there was no line for the customer service. There were two staffs in the customer service area, one guy and one lady. They were chatting. The guy saw me and reminded the lady there was a customer, but the lady kept on talking. I waited for almost a minute, and the guy just stopped chatting with the lady. That's how they treat their customers. I will never come to this store again! read more

This is my favorite Target in terms of service; even they Starbucks Baristas' inside are pleasant and courteous. They may not have the widest selection of clothes, but they usually have unique finds that the other Targets do not. This is my favorite location in San Diego by far. read more

Nicer than Mira mesa but a lot busier. Parking was tough on a Sunday afternoon. This may be a tad bit father from me than than Mira Mesa, but I think I will go to this one from now on. I love this store, however it is not huge therefore it only gets 4 stars. This store has recently had a grocery section added which I have yet to really look at. Really love their homeware. Target's ID policy when you buy alcohol is draconian. When you buy alcohol the cashier demands that you produce your driver's license (even if you are 60+) so it can be copied. I have never encountered this anywhere else. Do you really trust Target to safeguard your identity? Target does not have a good track record in this area. How do I know that a copy of my ID will not end up in the dumpster behind Target or that it will not be copied by an unauthorized person? This is what happens when you let corporate lawyers run your business and they persuade you that your employees can't be trust to ID properly. Good cashier training could solve this easily. read more

We all know and love Target. This Target is pretty decent, especially with the food expansion. The main issue with this Target is that it seems to be the nearest Target to a large percent of the north county residents. It is common to to go in and see the place completely picked through. The parking situation is heinous, of course. Just save yourself time and park in the back. read more

Worst shopping experiences all the time. To be frankly, none of the employee I met at this Target Poway shop are qualified for their jobs. Here are the reasons. First, the Tech staff doesn't even know the price of iphone x on Dec 1, 2018, and told me it was $1099. I had a difficult time to decide whether to buy it although I decided so before walking in. After a long -time thought, I don't want waste my time on traveling around to get a fair price and called it a deal. A funny thing is that when he opened the sale system, the price was $899. He appeared awkward but, did't even try to explain why there are $200 less. Anyway, I put $300 down and signed a 24-month installment contract using my AT&T plan. Second, The iphone I got comes with a few scratches and I found them once I arrived home. Immediately calling him and he told me I should contact APPLE to return this phone. I was freaked out since I don't have any idea why the hell APPLE is involved in this business. Third, I decided to walk in and use the 14 return policy to return this phone. The guest services manager further showed me how ridiculous a Target employee could be. She began the conversation with a conclusion that her system can't find my purchase record, even after I showed her my red TARGET Debit Card -- yes, I am a long-term TARGET customer, which was approved to be wrong later. She then concluded that I have to return the phone to AT&T (not Apple this time) since TARGET didn't sign contracts with me and didn't receive funds for this phone, which, again approved to be wrong by herself later. Fourth, they kicked me out of the Target store, and asked me to contact AT&T. I did and AT&T staffs was shocked that they never ever receive similar requests, because all phones sold at retailers will be taken care by retailers. I come back to target and explained the words to the Guest Services Manager, who apparently didn't know this before. Shockingly, she was able to refund me within 10 minutes ! In brief, I spent 4 hours fighting for something stupid that should be taken care in 10 minutes at any retailers or any other Target shops. These two staffs disqualified themselves from their positions. It is time for TARGET to take actions. read more

- Clean - well stocked - all around good customer service and all employees looked busy - very large store - awesome clearances - most of all have never stood inline more then 2 mins for a register. I was in this evening after 10 pm and they still had 2 registers available and opened a third for a few mins i was genuinely impressed by this due to the fact most stores leave it to one register after 10 pm and some even 9 pm. read more

I love Target. I love to walk around Target on a blistering hot day with a cold fountain drink from their cafe in hand, browsing through the seasonal department. They also sell a decent selection of knee high socks here in cute patterns, and they sell some cute things in the clothing sections. The Poway target is pretty clean and well maintained, and even though they're undergoing remodeling at the moment the chaos is generally well contained. It's a nice place to shop and the employees are always friendly here. read more

LOVE Target! There's just about anything and everything that you need all in one store. Not to mention the atmosphere and cleanliness is always superb. This is a slightly smaller Target than the Mira Mesa branch so there's also a little less stuff and selection, but it is still a Target, which means you will most likely have a satisfying shopping experience here. If you don't know Target then you are missing out. It is way way way way better than the Walmart which is just a couple of miles away. The prices are also competitive. Sure it might be 10 cents higher than what walmart is selling it for, but is 10 cents worth all the hassle and headaches? NO it's not. Stick to Target! read more

This stores employees have no regard for customers. The floor employee sends you to the front to check and the front then sends you right back to the person that sent you. They will send you back and forth until you say I have had enough. One employee calls over another employee and then another employee. Despite a request the store manager never shows up and does not even bother to respond to several pages. They said they would honor a price that they took the sign down for and a few moments later said no- we will not honor it after all. Can we say clueless. If you want to waste your time and energy this Target is definitely a good place to do it. read more

I LOVE TARGET. i really do. i can just spend all day here just perusing the aisles and filling up my cart until i can no longer push it. I shop at Target at least once every 2 months. I can easily spend one bill on this place. the customer service is great. I was in one aisle and an associate saw me right away and he asked if i found everything ok. I went to the next aisle, another associate did the same exact thing. i love it. this evening when i came in, one of the associates was passing by while i got a cart and she GREETED ME! this is how EVERY STORE SHOULD BE! the lines are FAST. If the line gets long, someone is always there to call for back up. the cashiers are always helpful and courteous. they'll only ask once if yo uwant the target credit card and that's it. they don't push it! i like that and i'm sure a lot of people appreciate that. and they're fully stocked on almost everything. who can ask for more? read more

Good store, Nice prices. I could find stuff cheaper at wal mart but this place is closer to my house. The store is generally well kept. I have been there when it is busy in the middle of the day and been messy. But I prefer to shop at night with less crowds. It is cleaner than other Targets I have been to, so thats a plus. read more

Love the workers here... I am a little biased because my softball team is composed of 8 of these employees =) When entering the store, you always get a whiff of popcorn. You can grab a bite of this, other snacks, or an icee. Make sure you grab a cart, because you will always find a good price on items you need to stock up with. It's target, it's the same target that is everywhere. The parking at this one kind of sucks. the place itself is really clean and typically seems to stay stocked with stuff the other targets dont. They are making this one into a super target or whatever it's called, but it will have groceries, sadly though no more gardening department. read more

The ONLY reason NOT to go to this Target is that the parking in that strip mall is a NIGHTMARE. But... otherwise, it is a great place to shop. If you go there, be careful where you park- it is a prime place for door smacks. LOTS of SUVs and people with Starbucks in one hand and a cell phone in the other. (Probably like most places in America...) BUT this is about the STORE and it's great. The people who work there are TOPS. The prices are good, and they stand behind their products. I have yet to go in there and not have an employee approach me and offer help, with a smile. The checkers are pleasant and they really try to do a great job. Very clean and pleasant. read more

Least favorite Target in San Diego , unfortunately it is the closest to me... always picked over and a mess. Always out of. Things I'm looking for, cereal, ear plugs and cat litter for example. Seasonal section should be well stocked and inviting it is always picked over and messy (garden, school, Halloween whatever). Carts always in aisle ways with product. visited target yesterday to purchase the new iphone 6s everything was wonderful. The deal was great with a $100 cash card back. The salesman however was extremely pushy and was instant on locking me into apple care for $100 which was not the best deal as I could simply use $7 a month att insurance. That aside I recommend target for buying iphones because of the $100 giftcard ! 5% back ! read more

I only gave this place two stars because I usually love Target. But service here sucks. I truly want to give them one star. I asked for a gift receipt twice when I was being rung up because my whole purchase were gifts. The cashier even made of comment saying that I had a lot of gifts (toys). The cashier forgot and then went to try and print receipts and says "I can't scan the receipt to give you gift receipts can you go to the next cashier." I go only to wait 10 minutes behind someone who has a ton of stuff only for that cashier to say "I can't do that here, can you go to customer service". I look over at customer service and there are 6 people in line. I just left thinking "if only the original cashier was listening to me and printed gift receipts". I hope all the kids like these gifts because they aren't going to be able to return them. read more

Normally a fun stop, but today our cashier Jackie thought it would be fun to play with the conveyor belt even after I told her to stop. My items were crashing into the items of the customer being taken care of at the time. I started removing my items since we realized we forgot something and once again I had to tell her to stop. She laughed and I'm not sure why. Was she bored? When I came back to the check stands I made it a point to avoid her register. Thank goodness Maria was courteous and professional.
