It's Target Well... a "super target" one of those new fancy schmancy ones that you have the groceries at. Groceries, a normal Target, and a Starbucks inside. If I were to be stuck in any store, first choice is a Costco. Second choice? Probably Target and this one is nice. so what's so special about this one? Nothing! It's not huge, it's not two stories with that cool cart escalator (which i actually find annoying), it's just an average run of the mill Target. The people are nice that work here and the cashiers are pretty good at their job but sometimes slow. Ultimately, the only reason I come to this one is because it's the closest one to home. Nothing wrong with that right? Do I love it? No. It's a Target, if I loved a store I'd be worried. I've been to many a Target in my day and this one had to be the quickest checkout ever. Perhaps it's the location, a pretty quiet plaza in a residential type area, or maybe because it's in Poway....is everything just more laid back here? Anyhow, there were plenty of checkout lanes open and I was out in a couple minutes. Didn't have any problems finding anything, as most Targets have similar layouts, which is wonderfully convenient when you're the new kid on the block looking for some necessities ASAP. Sunday March 1st 2020 was our first time visiting this store. Store not quite busy, many items were out of stock such as hand sanitizer, alcohol and definitely surgical masks. This target is actually pretty nice. One thing I can appreciate the most about it is that the lines are never long. Lots of families come here and I can always see employees around so if you have questions or are looking for something specific there will definitely be someone you can ask. I came here today to look at fitbits and get some protein bars, I got the protein bars, and unfortunately they didn't have the color band I was looking for, so i decided I would just order it online. This location has a huge grocery section, protein powders, clothes, and a bunch of other things. It's a typical target that you end up getting way more than you expect when you go in. Oh! I grew up going to this Target. I even remember as a kid the day it first opened. We were in this passed Saturday to pick up some small pieces of furniture. The Target app showed where the item was located in the store. After finding the aisle, the space where it should've been was empty, despite the app showing the item in stock. Nearby there's a button to push for team member assistance. I pushed the button and the light blinks on and off. Stood there for at least 15 minutes, and received zero help. I even saw three team members walk by. This was very disappointing. This store usually has the things I need that the Mira Mesa store always seems to be sold out of, and everything is a few bucks cheaper than it too. I was very disappointed that one of their shopping carts was broken and had been haphazardly put back together and Wee One got hurt in it. When I reported the broken cart that had hurt him, the manager just kind of shrugged her shoulders and said she'd take the cart off the floor. Who doesn't love Target? I've been coming to this target for years now. Literally years: probably since I was in elementary school. I'm 30, so what does that tell ya? Target has everything you need and more. I prefer it over Walmart, and if anyone wants to argue that, I'll show you my savings. One kid-friendly word: CARTWHEEL! If you love to save money and you love target, you need to DL this app. It has nearly 1,000 items of savings. Sales on top of sales just for having an app? Count me in! Everything in this store is laid out nicely. Staff on the floor are super helpful and friendly. Staff at the front registers are friendly. Minus one star for customer service. I don't return things much, but when I do, I always have a reason, a receipt and tags still attached to the items. When you have a toddler, you tend to be on a time crunch when shopping. It's just easier to try on clothes at home. Spare the nastiness and just be nice about returning a customers item. Chances are, I'm turning right around and spending that money in store! TERRIBLE!! I have had several bad experiences here in the last few months.. I visited the store 1/3/2020. I am so impressed with Eddie (younger gentleman in his 20s). He went above and beyond to go into the back and get me the right storage bins that I needed. He even came back again to ask me if he was looking at the right bins in the back. I was carrying my young baby in a carrier so he helped me load my cart with the bins. Went to this Target to look for some gas grill accessories and noticed that they had some good beer on sale. When I went to check out, the cashier wanted to see my ID. I was a little puzzled since I'm over 60, but I was even more puzzled when the cashier told me I had to take my ID out of my wallet and hand it to her. When I handed her my license she shocked me by scanning it. I think this is way too intrusive and I wonder why they need to do this. I'm giving this store one star because I can't rate it lower. This is clearly the cleanest and best organized/least busy Target I've shopped at. The Service has been top notch, particularly when a night manager went into the back to search for a 1/2 off item the target website said they had 2 of in stock at the Poway location. That said, I have a tip. I downloaded shopsavvy on my phone to scan in bar codes to see where the cheapest item in the area was (in store or online). On two occasions, the shelves had a higher price and the in store scanner also showed the items to be not on sale. However shopsavvy said the items were supposedly on sale in this store and Target online. They honored the sale prices with the price match guarantee.. but price match can only be done at the service desk. This is somewhat of a hassle, but for now on I'll be using this app. to doublecheck prices to take advantage of the price match guarantee. It saved me over $38. The only recommendation I would give this store is to overhaul their inventory/price database and stay on top of the advertised sale prices. read more

Call me a snob or what you will but you've all seen the e-mails of the people of "another" similar type store. Yes, I'm sure Target has these same individuals (I haven't seen MY picture yet). Anyway, a convenient place to shop if you have many different items on your list and you want to go to one store to manage it all. Parking can be tough so there may be a hike involved. I wanted to bump this up to another star for the fact that I was successful in finding what I wanted, which Best Buy had failed to provide. But because the customer service was a bit snarky, I decided to dock a star, keeping them at three stars. I was looking for a CD (I know... no one looks for those these days), and happened to find the one I wanted and it was on sale. Win! As I was dorking around, as Sales Associate from the other end of the aisle says, "Finding everything." I figured she wasn't talking to me and maybe another staff member was around the corner. As I got closer, she stopped and slowly said, "Are you finding everything ok?" She looked a bit annoyed, but 1) I was standing at the opposite end of the aisle from her, 2) she didn't even look at me when she said that, and 3) it was a directive, not a question the first time around. Then at the registers, I didn't put the cards that I bought on the belt because it was a bit wet. So when it was my turn I handed the cards to the cashier and she was going to set them down in a pile of water, so I just said, "Oh, please don't set them down, I don't want the to get ruined" as I pointed to the puddle of water. She too looked annoyed. I thought maybe I had been snarky with her, but my tone couldn't have been more polite. It is strange that while I was in the UK I would remark on how customer service was so much more friendly and customer oriented in the U.S., but maybe I was wrong. read more

Still my favorite Target. Seems to be kept fairly clean and always has the items in stock. The customers can be as entertaining as ever - from lots of eye candy and their lifted trucks to moms and daughters bickering back and forth as they just got out of professional cheerleading practice. Oh Poway, how I love you so! Parking varies here from challenging to OK depending on (of course) the season. I hate to let this secret out but you can enter through the garden center in front and you will be deposited into the grocery section which is near health & beauty and electronics. Great location, always packed, inventory turns and all the team members (employees, i come here so often i know how it works, in fact, thought about applying for a job!! wish i had the time to work here) The service level at this Target is probably the best in the nation. The family loves shopping at this location only, because all the team members are helpful, friendly and seem happy in general. Management is professional (i think i can pick them out based on their slightly different colored shirts) and treats guests and team members with the utmost respect. It's refreshing and you can feel the positive vibes; shopped at businesses where management is rude to employees, and it is awkward and unprofessional. You'll never see that here. I practically live here, so I think I've identified the managers Sam, Tyler, and a few others, all of which are helpful, and like the team members, go out of their way to be helpful. The product availability and variety is amazing, I find myself shopping here and Costco for all essentials. Great place for holiday shopping with the hours. Did I already mention? Hands down ,the best Target on the planet!! The renovations are enjoyable, and the decorations keep you intrigued as a shopper. for the reviewer who had a unusual experience buying alcohol, must be some issue with your drivers license. I buy alcohol here and never experienced any issues. they swipe your id to verify age, and collect whatever else information, and you go home with your beverages at a discount. 5% discount on the red card is an incredible deal, no other retailer offers this generous discount. read more

This is one of the nicer Target Stores around where I live. It's always clean and the staff is great and it's never really to busy. Parking lot is kinda small cause they share it with a lot of smaller businesses, but other than that I don't have much complaints. It has become our local Target; and every day I visit I long for our previous home's Target in Carlsbad. The parking is seriously horrendous, other Yelpers have pointed to it, too close parking spots and down right dingy conditions. The Target itself is okay. On the last visit it irritated me to no end that the manager thought it would be a good idea to stick an employee + the wannabe security guard at the front door to remind people as they entered the store that they were closing in 10mins. Has there seriously been problems that you need to intimidate your customers with warning them as you enter your store, plus warning them over your intercom system that the store will be closing? And, on that note, seriously Target, seriously you ware going to threaten customers that lanes will be closing exactly at 10:00PM. You are going to turn away business (e.g., profit)?? Me thinks not! I don't understand the idle threats or what warrants them. The gals at the tills are nice enough, on the last visit the associate was incredibly kind. The selection is decent enough. I dig this target more then my local target. The store seems to be a bit bigger, more organized, cleaner, and you don't really have anyone futzing around the isles or at a complete stop. This is definitely an exceptionally clean Target store. However, the cleanliness does not make up for the staff. With the exception of my cashier, the staff here were SO rude. I was at the self checkout and of course an error happened as they do with these machines. So I had to wait for a staff member to come and reset the machine. No one came! There were literally three staff members standing around doing absolutely nothing despite the monstrous line and multiple people needing help at the self checkout. I finally had to walk away and get into a regular line to pay for my stuff. Mind you that once in a standard line, one of the people standing around (a big boned lass) went and reset the self checkout stand I was at. So frustrating! read more

I can't stand this Target. If I have to choose between this one and Mira Mesa, Mira Mesa wins based on parking lot alone. The employees here are nice enough and there is a good selection but it just isn't worth trying to squeeze between two badly parked SUVs to buy cheap furniture and home care products. But I'd rather gouge out my own eyes than go to Wal Mart so I end up at this Target every few months. The store itself is great: clean bathrooms, a café I'd visit if I didn't want to get out of the store so badly, and fairly well stocked merchandise. Some of the OTC pharmaceuticals are even comparable to Costco bulk prices with is pretty good, and it's often the exact same manufactures as the Costco ones. Clothes selection is kind of crappy but I don't really go to Target for clothes anyway. So... parking lot is terrible, but store inside is decent... but parking lot is bad enough to turn me off entirely. We'll call it 3 stars because although my personal gut reaction is two, it isn't their fault that they have a handful of parking places and they're all overrun by SUV drivers who can't figure out where the lines are. read more

Most Targets are the same, or so I thought. But then I went into this one, and although it began a normal Target experience, soon i really felt that I was in Poway and not in any other Target. How did I know I was seeing how the other half lives? They sell Origins here--something I have never ever ever seen in any other Target. Also in the cosmetic area, in addition to other higher end cosmetics, was an attendant in the event that I needed any help with the products. It was so strange, I guess this is the Poway of life.
