This is a Target store. You generally know what to expect. But, this particular location has consistently disappointed me. They remodeled early in 2011 to add groceries, and since doing so, the store's layout is confusing & crowded (can't pass two grocery carts in some aisles). The grocery offerings are pretty slim - OK if I need to pick up one thing to go with dinner, but not good enough for actual grocery shopping. Other parts of the store are often a little disorganized. I think they also have a shoplifting problem - at least twice, I've picked up a boxed product to buy only to discover that it was empty inside. Curious... On at least 3 occasions, sale prices have been incorrectly marked on the shelves. And, when I inquired about it at check-out about those issues, I was treated rudely. Returns seem like a nuisance here, too. I've arrived early a few times (right as the store was opening) and somehow, though there were only 2 customers in the store, the best parking spaces were all filled. That, plus the rudeness of some employees and the general lack of care shown by other employees is not normal for Target. I still like the chain, but I find myself driving up 183 to the Super Target near Lakeline instead. read more

Electronics department (and toys etc) consistently help us out when we are searching for something specific. Today an employee personally checked if something was in stock (the website does tell you if something is in stock, but the listing was strange this time..). The backseat of our vehicle will be much more content on our summer road trip with the latest Kidz Bop in the CD player. (And for the driver... well, it is a small price to pay for peace from the back row) Employees at Target Arboretum electronics and toys area are awesome. read more

This target is beyond believe their employees are so rude . I don't know what the heck the problem is but they are just not helpful bitchy and they don't even want to work. I can get my target card to work she wasn't even going to help me so I'm going to cancel my target card and go somewhere else . Thank you rude lady! As far as Target stores go, this one falls on the cleaner, nicer end of the spectrum. Great Starbucks. Nice dressing rooms. But can we talk about Mateo for a minute? Mateo was assisting me and many other customers in the dressing room area on Saturday, June 29, and what a FABULOUS individual. I've never witnessed or heard so much kindness and enthusiasm. My daughter and I found ourselves wanting to hang out in our dressing room just so we could listen to his interactions. We smiled, we laughed...we wanted Mateo to be our new best friend!!! You would have thought he was selling Gucci underwear to Lady Gaga herself -- he took so much pride in his job and the product his store is selling. And he treated each customer as a beautiful and special human being. I bought twice as much --not because he was pushing anything -- but because he made me feel GOOD. Triple this guy's salary and have him teach customer service classes STAT! He's a gem. read more

Its not bad better than most Targets around here. Everyone seems really nice but its sparce in the store on workers unless you go to the front registers. Its nice they have self serve registers. There is also a Starbucks in the store. The girl looked disgruntled not much of a talker. I come here when I need to go across the street. read more

One of the nicest Targets that my wife takes me too when we are shopping. We usually go to this one on Sundays when we attend our church. It has always been clean and has some good stuff stock. This location is not near as likable as the Tech Ridge location, but I'm guessing it is likely due to it's size, and location. I come to this particular Target when Im at work and need something quickly.. but int he Mornings before work, or after work in the evenings, I prefer Tech Ridge Target. I stopped in here on my lunch yesterday to finish up my sons school supply shopping. Wow.. I know its BTS.. but dang.. I was a little disappointed.. this particular day was an exception to what I consider this location's "norm" to be... so Im giving it 3 stars.. no sense in knocking one off for an "off day" The Pros: They sometimes have more stuff than other locations, sometimes. I'm always on the hunt for a super good buy..and things that another stores may be out of, I can almost always count on this one having. Cashiers are always cheerful, no matter what day I stop.. it is "typically" clean. The cons: This day.. the store was busier than normal, super dirty, I mean.. popcorn all over the floors, bathrooms were filthy, drinks spilled in various places throughout the store, trash lying in various places.. it was DEFINITELY NOT THE NORM. Even the buggies, which I normally would praise, were dirty... Be glad when BTS is over... Actually, I hope that's all it is.. cause if its management turnover, this store is going downhill quickly, in which case, it may be a while before I return being a somewhat regular there. Guess time will tell.. And please know.. no matter how many times I give, or even consider giving target below a 4* rating, they will ALWAYS be better than "Wally World" Always. Honestly, this Target is making me fall out of love with Target. The good news, the staff here is very accommodating and, if you ask, they will go look in their storage room to see if they have the items that are no longer on the shelf. Everyone I have dealt with has been very friendly and willing to go that extra mile for me. However, if I'm shopping for something in particular, I leave here 80% of the time and have to go somewhere else to get what I need. It's not unusual things either. This last time, it was a large bag of Easter Eggs two weeks before Easter. Another small annoyance for me: I know people love the new carts, but they don't fit infant car seats. read more

I am a huge Target fan, as indicated by my previous reviews of various Targets around Texas, and I have to say this Target is my favorite to visit during lunch time at work. During this time period, there is hardly ever a wait at the check out and staff is always super nice. Now that the holiday rush has passed, I have been able to tell a huge difference in the general appearance of the store. Shelves are stocked, items are where they should be and merchandise is priced correctly. Returns are never an issue there either. I do like my Target Red Debit card because I never have to keep my receipt and they are able to look it up for me. Super helpful for me since I have a tendency to misplace things. All in all, a good Target and a nice way to kill an hour before I have to get back to work. read more

The woman working at the Starbucks on Tuesday, May 9th 9PM was very rude and disrespectful. I have never witnessed this type of customer service ever. I asked for a beverage, quite simple, and she rolled her eyes at me. This woman then said, we don't do that at this store. Which is a lie because I got some earlier that day. I stated that, and then I was called a liar. I'm writing this review to let management now what is going on in there store. This isn't only a bad image for target, but also for Starbucks. If target employees are going to be spreading their negativity to Starbucks customers, it makes the people not want to visit either establishment. I hope this woman gets talked to about her attitude and realizing how much of an impact they can have on people's day. I will be getting in contact with corporate for further actions to be done. I wouldn't wish the service I received upon my worst enemy. read more

This location has the poorest customer service of any location in the Austin area. I went this morning to make a return and the woman taking returns was so rude to me while processing my return that I asked to speak to her manager. When her manager arrived, she didn't acknowledge me or anything. She just started speaking in Spanish with the other woman and didn't even look up at me until I finally spoke up snd said, "excuse me." I explained the problem with the return and told her the associate had been extremely rude to me. The rude woman said, "Whatever. You got an attitude with me." Then, the two spoke to each other in Spanish, basically talking about me right in front of my face. It took 3 managers to process a return that had the original receipt and tags for the item. None of the people involved corrected the associate. None of them could explain why the return was such a hassle. None of them would get the store manager as I requested. So disappointed in this experience. read more

Terrible customer service! Been a loyal target customer for forever... but avoid this store!! There were like 8 people in the return line here and only one cashier at the customer service desk here. There were employees around - even 3 people were bringing in shopping carts!! I even asked someone to bring another cashier here. They refused. It's the middle of the day and not anywhere near a holiday. It shouldn't take 30 min to wait to return something!! When it was finally my turn, the cashier refused to accept my return. It was bought the same day as I'm trying to return it, had the receipt attached and everything! I asked for the manager, who was then very rude to me and treated me like I'm an imbecile... kept repeating the same thing in an exasperated tone over and over. Esp considering there's so many targets near here within five miles, avoid this one!!!! read more

CALL BEFORE YOU GO if you're looking for a particular item. And DONT TRUST THE TARGET WEBSITE. I drove 15 miles out of my way for an item that the website said was in stock. I was told I shouldn't trust the website, as it "can take 24 hours to update." Not true, as 2 days later the item still shows as in stock (on sale, no less!), but after calling I was told it was not. This time I was told the website can "take a few days" to update. Which is it? I don't appreciate being lied to. I'd rather hear that the site is wrong then being told wrong information. The salesperson was helpful and courteous but should have just been honest. read more

This review refers specifically to the new Target in Great Hills. I was there on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly crowded with shoppers as most Targets are on the weekends. However, unlike most Targets, I had two bad experiences in one trip. 1) The women's restroom. There was a line out the door when I arrived. The other ladies told me that they were waiting on one stall because there was no toilet paper in the other three, despite notifying "customer service" several times. Two of the toilets had excrement smeared on the seats. Um, no thanks, I think I'll hold it. As I left I noticed from the "check-in" sheet on the back of the bathroom door that this bathroom had last been checked for cleanliness and supplies two days earlier. Way to go. 2) I went to buy a flash drive. I saw two identical models on different aisles. Same manufacturer, same product, slightly different packaging. One cost $9.99 and the other cost $19.99. ?? When I asked the man at the desk what the difference was to merit such a large price difference, he said, I have no idea. Great answer. I don't know if this Target is always bad but it did not leave a good impression with me at all. read more

I'm a Target addict, and come here way more than I should. Or more than anyone should for that matter. I could shop here forever, and I do. So today I'm at Target, shopping, having a great time and then when I went to check-out, I received the worst service ever. The woman was so very rude to me, and the person in front of me as well. I was really surprised. She just wasn't friendly and was very bossy. Five minutes felt like five dog years. JK. I wished I would have turned back and done Express Checkout! I might not scan my items the fastest, but I'll give myself some good service. This Target is located right off of 183N and Capital of Texas Highway. They offer plenty of parking and have a grocery section that is really affordable. People from the Arboretum/Domain come here often. read more

The store is "just OK." I ordered a product online and went to the store's "customer pick-up" counter, but nobody was there to handle pick-ups. I had to go to the back of a rather long customer service line, and wait for them to process returns and exchanges, before finally getting someone to hand my order to me. It would have been faster to get the item off the shelve and go to a check-out register. This is not how online ordering and pick-up is supposed to work. This store needs to staff the pick-up register, and only leave it (temporarily) if there are no pick-up customers waiting. read more

Not only did I find the perfect bright blue shirt and blue tights, but I could buy cookie making supplies so I could sell some cookies on the streets that night. this is the worst target ive ever been to. For beginners, I am from Ohio. I got my prescriptions transferred to this location when I moved to Austin. I moved here and began my career immediately so its been hectic and the last thing I wanted to deal with is my prescriptions not being ready on time TWICE for the same prescription. I called the morning of and said I'd be there to pick it up fter 12 on my lunch break and she said OK. I went there: Not ready. Annoyed, I left because I didnt have "about 15-20 minutes" to spare for them to prepare after I was told it would be ready. I came back the next day, and literally the same exact thing happened (Thursday). While I was there Thursday, I picked up a Coleman air mattress for my dad to sleep on because he was flying to Austin later that evening. I get home after work- the mattress doesnt blow up. So now I 1) dont have my prescription and 2) an air mattress that doesnt blow up. I traveled to a wedding for the weekend, and when i returned to Austin on Sunday I tried to return the mattress. I had the receipt, the packaging, and all the pieces. I explained the mattress didnt work and i no longer needed it because the guest I needed it for ended up sleeping on the floor anyways and is gone now. Customer Service would not let me exchange it unless for the same exact air mattress. I, trying to be flexible, said I would accept an in-store credit or gift card credit again, as I didnt need the mattress any longer because my guests' time in Austin had passed. They gave no lenience. The 3 times i've been to this Target I've received unacceptable customer service and reliability with the products and the service. The credibility of this store is AWOL and like something I've never experienced. As I write this post, I have to chuckle at the fact I am still without my prescription and stuck with an air mattress that doesnt work, and exhausted at the customer service support I just received. They informed me that they did not carry that, but that they would take 15% off of any of the other HBs. I really appreciated that they were willing to still honor the coupon. I would have liked a SuperTarget or a slightly larger grocery section so I can get all my shopping done in one place, but now that there's a Sprouts across the street, I rarely go to Randalls or HEB for groceries anymore. read more

Positive is its pretty much like any other Target, which is good. Huge negative of this store is it always seems to be way crowded and this store does not like to hire people to run the registers. Seems like only 2-3 registers are ever opened, and sometimes even only one during off hours. Forces everybody to stand in line to use the self checkouts and usually only half of them are working. So beware when buying ice cream and having to stand in line for 2o minutes or more to check out. It will start to melt. I had to bring mine back for this reason. Plus Blue Bell brand ice cream really is weak anyways. read more

I know that Target is typically known for their customer satisfaction, but this location in particular should be receiving an A++. I was only there for thirty minutes at most, but I had five different employees around the store ask me if they could be of any assistance. On top of that, everyone was just so polite and cheerful! I recently went to Target to buy a gift from their registry. I had printed out the items the person had selected. One was a 10 cup Brita water pitcher for $20.99. When the clerk rang it up it was $35.99. The cashier called customer service and they said the lower price was for online only. No where did it say that on the registry. I went to Costco and got it for $22 with extra filters. I dealt with two women and one young man at Target. The young man was very nice. The women, not so much. read more

Another rave review for the customer service at this location. We were having trouble returning some large items that we had previously been told could be returned at the store but once we got there were told it had to be returned online. We were pretty frustrated, after borrowing a truck and loading the items to make the return. After initially being told there was nothing they could do and we'd have to return online, I asked for a manager and two of them came in and saved the day. They offered to buy us a star bucks while they worked out the situation, gave us some $3 off "we're sorry this is taking so long" coupons and figured out a way that we could return the items in the store. Really stellar customer service and after reading the other reviews it seems like this is the norm for this particular store. read more

I recently transferred a prescription to Target, and it was a bit of a mess with my insurance. Dawn was very helpful, and worked diligently to help resolve the issue. The issue wasn't with Target, but my insurance that was being a pain. Most people would have tried it once, and walked away, but Dawn went above and beyond to make things right.
