Calzone

Overall: 4.5/5 This is our go-to Costco since it's the nearest location with a gas station. We also stop here to pick up medications, so it's super convenient to get all our errands done in one place. They have everything we need. Hot Dog ($1.50): Tastes the same as ever. It's served in a bag instead of foil, and the condiments are self-serve. The relish is delicious, and it comes with a soft drink. Calzone: Very crispy outer edge that was a bit overdone. It literally tastes like a rolled-up pizza, with lots of meat and cheese inside. However, the flavors didn't feel evenly distributed. It was just okay, and I wouldn't order it again.

I always enjoy coming to Costco for grocery shopping. The store is clean, spacious, and easy to navigate, which makes the experience enjoyable even when it's busy. This time, we picked up a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, and everything looked high quality and well stocked. We were hoping to find tofu during this visit, but unfortunately it wasn't available at the time. No big deal--we'll definitely be back again soon to restock and check for it next time.

The only Costco in north Austin but it gets the job done. The best time to come in the weekends are 9:30am or before. Or else you will get stuck in the check out line that is not set up between and funnels traffic. For the most part during the day it will always be busy. I'm still waiting for them to cycle out those ugly thermalflask metal water bottles. It's been months, no one wants those colors. Other than that, good finds will come and go.

Love Costco, but it's always advisable to avoid a weekend trip. Soooo crowded! But the employees do an amazing job of keeping the lines moving.

I love Costco, and this location is my usual go-to. I always grab a hot dog because it's still the best deal you'll find anywhere, and gas prices here are usually solid too. One of my favorite things is the rotating products, I'll sometimes come just to walk around and see what's new each week. That said, parking is typically rough, foot traffic is heavy, and the gas lines on weekends can be atrocious. Best time to come is a weekday afternoon before Austin traffic picks up. Customer service at the front desk is hit or miss, some employees are super relaxed, while others can have a bit of an attitude. Overall, it's still my go-to Costco, but experiences here can range from great to frustrating depending on timing.

Costco is great. Don't get into Austin that often to go, but it is worth having a membership for the $1.50 hotdog. Only thing I don't like is sometimes I find a product that's really great, but then I never find it again. Peanut butter Chex for example, the greatest ever. No longer carry it. My daughter likes the body butter lotion. Gone can't find it. Rotisserie chicken strips, awesome, gone can't find it. Of course they have been replaced by many other options and the prices are good for the large quantity. So it's always fun coming for a hot dog and some groceries. Sometimes I get the pizza which is surprisingly very very good.

Love my local Costco. I prefer the setup of the food area here than the one in Pflugerville. Love the variety of things we can buy here! Employees are always so nice and funny! I try to come in often even if I have nothing to purchase because I like to wander around and see what's on sale, absolutely love my sales and can't miss a good price! Of course, can't forget that hotdog combo, always hits.

Costco for Life! Great choice of products, service and value! Returns are easy and without hassle. Spent over $500K and returned $30K with no challenges. Thank you as I will always be a member until I'm no longer on this planet.

Costco Rotisserie chicken now in bags that leak. Thank you Austin city council dummies.

Love both Costcos in Austin. We usually hit the south one, but because of traffic tried the north one. It is just as good maybe better, since it had items that have been missing from the south one. We loaded up on our favorite spicy ahi tuna sashimi, and great Malbec wine for $7 a bottle. I needed some new kicks and Costco was the place. Two pairs of decent Sketchers for $40 and one pair of Izods for $19. Are you kidding me?! And they had my size 13 unlike other stores. My only complaint, which is not Costco's fault, is the new biodegradeable plastic bags their rotisserie chickens now come in due to stupid ignorant laws Austin City No Brain Council put in place. Make sure you double box it so it doesn't leak all over your car. I can't wait for the one to open soon in the Albany region!

Double cheeseburger was solid - but the tomato-onions were kinda cold and patty too

I don't know how I cannot give Costco any less than a 5-Star rating. I have been shopping there as a member for several years now. Many of my friends were Costco members for a long time and always told me I should join so I finally took the plunge. I ended up getting the Costco Visa card, which is also been great since it's 4% cashback.. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at Costco and there are a lot of positives to being a member here. I don't go here as often as many families may do because I live by myself and I don't have a family so I'm shopping for one so I have to be careful. But I always get the gas here which is usually several cents cheaper than anyone else in town. Sometimes Walmart Murphy's Oil may come close, but never beats Costco's price. They expanded the entrance to the gas station so now we have more room and less bottlenecks. I only get annoyed with those customers who are impatient, waiting for a pump and move out of sync and throw off the flow. I love that $1.50 Costco 100% beef hotdog with a soda. Their pizza is pretty darn good too, it's a steal for $9.99 for a large take-home and I think the cheese pizza is the best. Nearly everything here is lower and cost than H-E-B or Walmart but you just have to buy a larger quantity. The bananas here are cheaper and much of the fruit as well. The frozen section always has some great deals and this is my place to get Topo Chico when they have it in stock. I love their croissants and their cakes are very, very good here and very well priced. Same with their cheesecake and no one sells an extra large pumpkin pie for $5.99. The last year and a half or so I have dabbled with their eyeglasses. The prices and selection here are so great that I ended up getting around 10 pairs of prescription glasses and sunglasses. The reason is I went to an eye doctor a couple years ago and needed eyeglasses then they tried to sell me a pair for $425! I was flabbergasted! I go to Costco and bring my prescription and they're like all of the special lens upgrades are bundled and it cost me an average of $130 - while the eye doctor charges you for every little Lens upgrade like glare or blue light and etc, Costco doesn't do that. The girl there also told me I should get prescription sunglasses because they are "life-changing". I kind of laughed at her, but she was so right! I love my prescription sunglasses because when I wear my usual Ray Ban sunglasses I am blind but not with these! So you see that's why I needed 10 pairs - so many cool frames and options! lol! And I love their return policy here! They will accept anything at any time within reason. Like you can't return food a year later, but they back up their products and will provide you with the refund. That's great peace of mind, especially when you're buying things like large expensive electronics. I got my LG OLED TV from Best Buy and within 3 months I had a defective screen issue and Best Buy deferred me to LG for help because I didn't pay for the Best Buy maintenance plan (and never will). I just kept thinking I should've bought this at Costco because they would have taken it back with no issues or problems like they have with most everything I have returned. Customer service here has always been nice and professional and helpful. You can't be $4.99 rotisserie chicken that looks and smells so good! I've been very happy with my relationship with Costco'

My only complaint is how far away it is from downtown. Other than that, great Costco location. Plenty of parking, and lots of selections inside. There's also tons of staff around to help if needed, be that in the aisles looking for items or handing out samples. It does get pretty busy at times, so just time out when you want to go. I have gone on Sunday afternoons and it is really busy then! Nevertheless, the lines move fast (checkout and gas) so it's not too big of an inconvenience, in the end. Also, I love how extensive the wine selection and the seafood section is. I've been to Costco's in other states (mainly CA and NY) and this one is one of the best, in my experience.

Ask the Community - Costco

Is there selling gas?

Yes they are. They have a gas station . If that what you are looking for

Does anyone deliver groceries for Costco South?

You can order on Costco's website and things can be mailed to you. Since it's membership based, I don't see how Favor would work because they would need your membership card.

What ins do they take?

Huh? What "ins"??

Book club preparations - Stop #4…read more Sam's is a great place to buy product in bulk as they have amazing prices. That's the good news. The downside of shopping at Sam's during peak hours is the store swarming with people, long lines and having to pack your purchased items in random boxes. I was searching for one item and one item only...a case of Topo Chico sparkling mineral water, which is bottled in Monterrey, Mexico. It is known for its crisp carbonation and distinctive mineral profile. Topo Chico appears unique to the South, I believe, a I have not seen it anywhere else. Topo Chico is fan favorite in Texas especially. As the story goes, the water's origin is tied to a legend involving the daughter of Emperor Moctezuma, who was said to have been totally revitalized after drinking from the spring at Cerro del Topo Chico. I grabbed by water, paid and out I went.

Naturally, that causes unnecessarily long waits, no matter what time you visit. It's frustrating, especially when you're already going out of your way to get here, but then the prices are hard to argue with... I've never successfully shopped in store. Employees are gruff at best and the hours are infuriating for someone who likes to get started early, but not pay $$$ for the privilege. It's unlikely I'll renew my membership after this year.

My experience with Coleman Wholesale started off great. The staff was friendly and the prices were…read moregreat. I had even found some positive reviews. I felt like this was going to be a good deal. The owner had also recently joined a Referral Networking Organization that I run in Austin. Maybe something changed or cash ran low. If I search for reviews now I can find others with similar experiences to my own. He is no longer in the networking organization and I have even found some vendor's that he failed to pay.So here is our story. I hope it will save you from going though the nightmare we are still dealing with. We ordered and paid in May of 2012. We put the deposit down and ordered the cabinets before we had even closed on the new house. We were told it was the only way they could get them finished and installed by the end of June. The only deadline they committed to and actually delivered on was when we demo'd the Kitchen back in early June. All my calls and emails asking for updates went pretty much unreturned. I had to drive to the showroom if I wanted to actually be able to speak to someone. Even his Staff said they could only get him via text message. The owner turned off incoming calls on his cell phone. The vendors we hired to do the floors, painting, bathroom remodel, lighting, electrical, plumbing and audio system all did wonderful jobs. In addition they also finished everything on time. We had everything completed, other than the Kitchen and Appliances by June 23rd. We agreed to a price, signed contracts and were even planning to add an outdoor BBQ and closet with some trade. It's now August and the only thing I have been able to get is the shells for the cabinets. They shells are not even close to the quality work that was promised. I think IKEA has them beat on quality of product. Maybe this was not always the case. I was told by their Staff that their Cabinet Builder quit in May. Our project was supposed to be completed by the end of June. I would think that would mean all the appliances and products would have already been on Site in preparation. We paid 60% of the money at the time of the order (In May). That is more than 50% required per Coleman's terms. When they missed the 1st deadline in June the excuse was that they were just finishing up the cabinets. No additional money was ever requested or discussed. After a week in the house with no KitchenI asked if we could at least get the Appliances. We have a 9 year old and it was rather hard without them. He said they could order them if I paid for delivery. Only two days earlier he had said they were doing there best to hit the deadline and now I find out they have not even ordered the products. Then, 2 weeks after that we are told they can no longer get Kitchen Aid Appliances. We thought we we had ordered and paid for a "Mercedes" Kitchen. Now he was offering to replace the "Mercedes" with a Kia for the same price. After more calls, texts and emails they finally agreed to show up. with the Cabinets. They made an appointment for 8AM. As usual, no one showed up or called. After I called them numerous times I was told they were stuck on another job but would be out later. They showed up at 7PM but only to drop off only the cabinet shells. They were STILL working on the drawers and doors. I thought this was funny. In June the only delay preventing our products from arriving was rain. They had to rent a truck, on our dime, because it was raining and they only had a flatbed trailer. It was excuse after excuse with this guy. When the cabinets were dropped off I was told they would be back in the morning with a crew to start installation. That appointment came and went like all the other. No one showed up, no one called and I had to call them to get an another excuse. I asked again if they could at least bring the refrigerator as it was getting hard and was very unhealthy to eat out every meal. OMG...now the the owner called wanted more money to "Fund" my appliance order before we could move forward on the project. I guess he is having a cash flow issue. I guess it should have been a red flag when I discovered his family car was an 5 year old KIA Spectra. Not an indicator of good cash flow. I said we needed to talk in person. We set an appointment to meet at his store at 10AM. Not surprisingly he stood me up. Even his sales guys thought it was odd since it was written on the wall calendar in his showroom. His sales guys had to call to tell me that Allen had returned to the showroom. I decided to drive back at 2PM. We talked for awhile and I thought had agreed to a solution. I had him give me some dates for the completion of each stage of the project. I even wrote them down and had him sign next to them. They were once again missed. We are now taking legal action. Hope this helps

Kitchen Nightmare - Ordered a complete kitchen remodel and everything had to be paid in advance…read morebecause it was "wholesale." This should have been my first clue. I ordered custom, all wood, factory finished wood cabinets, stone counter tops and an appliance package. The demo person came on March 12, 2012 and was on time and did a very good job. After that it was downhill all the way! Sat home waiting for materials and workmen who never arrived. Cabinets were finally delivered at 7PM one night. They did not come in factory boxes but were shrink wrapped (another clue). They had flimsy paper like laminate on sides that were already peeling and these were suppose to be brand new! Also parts and accessories are missing. There are a lot of nicks and gouges on the surfaces. After lots of frustration and aggravation trying to get Mr. Coleman to resolve these issues I notified him I was no longer doing business with him. He sent a very unprofessional, intimidating email and said he would sue for slander if I said anything bad about his business. My lawyer said the proof is in the cabinets. Had independent appraisers look at these cabinets and was told by all of them that I got taken and the cabinets were substandard. I had paid close to $10,000. for the cabinets alone and they are not as nice as Home Depot's cheapest brand. For that amount of money I should have received the custom wood cabinets I ordered and was promised. Fortunately I used my charge card for most of the purchases and after a thorough investigation they backed me up and I recouped that money. Unfortunately I paid by check for the appliances which I never received and also never received a refund. I am filing a fraud report and hope to recover the rest of my money from Mr. Coleman.
