A good stop for unexpected treasure seekers of eclectic pieces as I did stumble upon an unusual square shaped pub-height dining table with six well upholstered chairs that was well made and only $459 and a cute handpainted bedroom set (one twin sized bed headboard and footboard, a hutch, a chair and a bedside table) in a rustic Mexican style for $659. And that's what this place is all about... stumbling upon stuff. Not a destination shop if you're looking for something specific. Great furniture store with reasonable prices. You can buy, sale or do consignments here. We bought a brand new showroom couch from here which came from Bassett Furniture but it was significantly reduced in price. Since we were paying cash I got the salesman to drop the price a little more, but we loved the pillows that were on the couch so he said, but at the first price and we will throw in all of the pillows as I said, you've got a deal. They delivered it for us all the way to Round Rock as well. Very professional people and great deals makes this place worthy of a bookmark and a try. read more

Upscale furniture consignment they say. For one thing, upscale furniture just means someone else paid a lot for it, it doesn't necessarily mean it's in good taste. I also found the welcoming crowd rather unsociable. Or perhaps they're shy. Either way, the rather boring furniture and unwelcoming staff made me cross this place off of places to consider. If you're looking for reasonably priced furniture, this isn't a bad place to check out, but like any second hand place, it's hit or miss. If it helps, I tend to go for the clean lines and mid century modern pieces - this place missed. read more

As we drove around Austin, my mom made up terrible names for vintage consignment stores: Better Luck Next Time. It's Dead To Me. Second Time Is the Charm. Alas, she could never remember the name of THIS place, so we drove around a while, trying to remember where I'd bought a couch in college. Finally, we stumbled into the store, looked around, and sighed. If you need a college couch, oh, they still have those, but everything here is a hilarious mishmash of styles and decades. There is nothing trendy or curated about this collection. We spent a good ten minutes debating the merits of spraypainting and refinishing two bookcases. Ultimately, the fact that I could not independently lift the darn things led to the negative vote. Seriously - the best wooden thing in the store needed spraypaint. And all the furniture could have been re-upholstered and maybe shoved into cuteness. So. If you have a house to stage, or need to consign granny's easy chair, give these folks a call! The prices are decent, just above thrift stores, but the silliness factor is worth it. Oh! And the salesmen don't pounce. You can Browse in Peace. Maybe that's what I'll call my new place. read more

I like this place, it is like a treasure hunt. Sometimes you find something, sometimes you don't. When you do find something it is a good price. The store today smelled like cigarette smoke, we finally figured it out when we saw one of the owners smoking in the store. I found a lot of good stuff here, but the service was abysmal. I was ready to buy about $300-400 worth of furniture, so I expected at least basic courtesy from the employees. When I asked about delivery they told me that they didn't deliver for such "small things" (a rocking chair, nightstand, and roughly 7' tall bookshelf). I explained that I did not have the time or physical ability to move these things myself, and they just suggested that I ask a friend. I made it clear that I was willing to pay nearly anything for delivery, and they suggested I rent a Uhaul. Then when I decided to leave, he screamed "NO" at me, as if that would make me want to purchase the items. Nope. I'd rather pay more or go to every Goodwill in town than be talked to like an idiot or a child. read more

I went in looking for a sofa. There were multiple pieces of furniture that I was interested in. Picked up a "used" Lay-Z-Boy sofa in perfect shape for $290. The staff was personable and it was a quick get in, get out experience...just like I wanted. Instead of waiting for them to deliver it, which they offered to do for around $80 (per truckload), I opted to use someone that had just that day offered his services. Since it was a guy and a truck, it was agreed upon that I would help unload it. Got it delivered for $60 within a few hours. The guy's name was Scott Graves, he drives what looks to be a re-purposed U-Haul truck, his number was 512-773-4240, and I can vouch for his reliability. Anyway, I will definitely check them out for any future furniture needs. read more

I had the most satisfactory experience in here the other day, I would absolutely argue it's the best consignment shop in town as the staff was very helpful and help me narrow my selection to several pieces for my living room and bedroom, finishing with a good deal to seal the purchase, I would definitely return for business as I enjoy the atmosphere here and no pressure sales. read more

My partner and I bought a couch from here for about $700. At first glance, the couch is nice and comfortable so we were happy to purchase it. After unzipping the couch covers to clean them, we realized that the two seat cushions both have a giant hole in them that were duct taped shut. This explains why so many feathers have been coming out of it recently. Honestly, the frame is good but I'm very disappointed that we spent so much on something not even properly fixed. This seems pretty skeezy. It feels like it was found on the side of the road and resold to unsuspecting victims of couch fraud. I feel ripped off. read more

They said they called twice and left messages--I did not know they were going to call first, but in any case I did not receive any calls...and when I told them that, they did not believe me. I wanted to sell 5 pieces of furniture and decided to use It's New To Me. Each time we spoke by phone they were very friendly and nice to deal with. Most importantly, they sold all of the pieces within the time of our contract. On one of the pieces, they even sold it for more than the price we had agreed upon. I do not live in TX and so it meant a lot to me to be able to count on them to get the pieces sold and to be able to trust that I would be compensated as agreed (in this case, more than what we agreed). A friend asked that I accompany her to shop for a new dinning room table and ofcourse I said yes to home decor shopping! But when we pulled up I groaned and she said give it a chance. Well, she was right. It's New to Me, is not the average consignment store. The have an inventory blend of new and consignment; regardless, they are name brands in tip top shape. Lots to choose from the staff very friendly. Now for me, there are a lot of wood pieces, and I am a ironrod/glass type of girl. But I saw a few items that I wanted for a couch, lamps and new dinning room chairs. I went comparison shopping and didn't find comparable pricing for the quality. I'm new to selling on consignment so I wasn't sure what to expect when they came by to look at two chairs I wanted to sell. Perhaps I was naïve but I expected more of a collaboration. Instead I heard nothing but how difficult it would be to sell them and how little I could expect to get for them. These were expensive, high end chairs. They took the chairs but instead of setting up a consignment agreement they offered me a check for a shockingly small amount all the while convincing me that this was the best I could do. Of course I regret it now but honestly I was so taken aback by their aggressive tactics that I agreed to it. It was about as unpleasant as dealing with a used car salesman though at least you know what to expect with car salesmen. I can't believe this is standard practice in the consignment business. I have no proof but I suspect that they "paid me off" so that they could sell them for a higher price and not have to split the profit with me. I'm totally disgusted. read more
