It is now my favorite drop in to store, lots of interesting and useful things of high quality, second time around that I can buy at reasonable price. read more

I've found many pieces of furniture here for my home over the years, all of which are of great quality--the kind you end up keeping forever. The staff is always helpful whenever I need assistance. One of my favorite finds is a small painted desk I got when my daughter was little. She doesn't use it anymore, but I hold onto it for the memories. This store has a special place in my heart, and I highly recommend it. read more

I've just moved back to Austin after being gone for 13 years. I did sell the furniture from my big house here after my divorce. I remember I had one oil painting that was very large and it had been there for a few months and somebody offered me a very pittance for it and I said no but they sold it to them anyway! So no, I don't recommend this business, especially for selling your furniture because these people have no integrity! Stay away! read more

Always fun to peruse the furniture / items there to buy - great prices - fun to shop!

Great Place. Always make sure to stop in when I'm in the neighborhood. Excellent quality and friendly staff.

Lovely furniture and very helpful staff. I have purchased several statement pieces here snd always thrilled

My review deals specifically with Furniture Brokers Lakeway location. This location is the nicest of the the three, the other two being in Marble Falls and Westlake.. The location in Marble Falls is basically an indoor flea market, and the location in Westlake is dark and dingy, but nicer than that.. The one in Lakeway actually has some nice stuff, and I've always enjoyed looking around in it. My review specifically deals with two pieces of art that I took in to sell. I took two large framed prints on canvas, to sell on consignment. One piece, I had purchased for almost $600 at Estancia in Bee Cave.. I had it listed at $299, and got a call today, saying they had broken the frame, and couldn't repair it. (maybe this is why they call themselves "Furniture BROKERs") haha get it?! First of all, if you take anything in there to sell, please READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY. THEIR FEE IS 50%, and they charge extra to mail you the check, if it sells. This was not explained to me, or I wouldn't have done it to begin with.. If I wanted $150 for that piece, I could have sold it that low on Craigslist. (If you need the money for something, contact me, I'll sell it on Craigslist, and only charge you 25%!) Secondly, and the reason for this review, the contract states that they are NOT liable for anything they break!!! Yep, that's right, they break it in their store, you're/I'm out of luck. And third, when/if you do sell an item, you don't get paid until the 15th of the FOLLOWING month.. For example, I did sell one of my pictures in early April.. and they aren't sending the check until May 15th. I am always learning new things.. Today, I learned an expensive lesson from Furniture Brokers in Lakeway. However, unlike a lot of people, I learn after the first time, and will not ever sell anything there on consignment again. Their marketing talks about saving you the grief of trying to sell something online. I do a lot of business on Craigslist, and yes, you need to be careful with scammers, etc if you go that route. But, I've given you three good reasons why Furniture Brokers is NOT the better option. Just sayin' PS Just got back from picking up my broken framed picture.. i walked to the back to get it, and they had it laying down, with other stuff LAYING ON THE PICTURE.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I'm completely disgusted that I took my art to these people.. read more

While the common perception is that all Westlakers are über rich, there are actually a few levels of socioeconomics and they are represented here at Furniture Brokers. For the truly wealthy who get bored quickly or redecorate often in order to keep up with this year's styles, this store is an alternative to outright donating that $1000 end table or $5000 sofa. That's where the "other" level come in--vultures like me shop these castaways. It's not like I have to put stuff on layaway at the Dollar Store but I do like a good deal. And I'm not a snob.not completely. Well, maybe just a little. I prefer to think I'm a connoisseur of great values on tasteful items. I've paid my dues with the decade of second hand and garage sale finds and another decade of wares from Rooms to Go, Ikea, etc, dammit. Now it's the decade for treating my abode with a spa day, if you will. Lest it isn't clear by now, you won't be finding your daddy's Barcalounger here. No. This is where you will find some "pieces"-- nomenclature used so that you can willfully suspend disbelief that it is simply furniture and instead believe that it is an investment in a work of art. Here, they carry upper-end to genuinely high-end pieces including artwork. Unfortunately for me with my preference for contemporary and modern styles, the pieces are typically traditional style with a mix of recent traditional (read: bored or über...discarding their goods) or of the estate liquidation variety where the smell of Bengay has been carefully eliminated. Therefore you will find classic silver tea sets alongside a Henredon side chair, for example. What I'm looking for is a castoff that once might have resided in the Copenhagen or Nest showroom. It is rare, but not completely out of realm of possibilities. Since their store is small and they have a devout group of bottom feeders like me, their inventory changes often. Therefore weekly visits are not uncommon. The layout is done well for such a small space, allowing me to breeze in and out literally in less than 3 or 4 minutes. There may be a time when I spend 10 min after a contemporary piece caught my eye, but then I realize that even at deeply discounted prices I don't want to spend that much. It has to be more than just a good value; at these prices, the piece has to "speak to me." It must induce the feeling that I would momentarily hesitate to leave my burning abode so as not to leave the poor bugger behind. So I fight with myself for a few minutes and move on. Unlike in Amsterdam, there is no charge for window shopping. When entering and exiting, you'll pass by a desk at front door. It seems like an odd place to have a desk in a store, and I don't know if that was meant to discourage shoplifting? I mean, the items are large. Is it gonna be like, "Pardon me Ma'am/Sir, is that our candlestick in your pants or are you just happy to leave me?" Actually, I think it's there for a less sinister reason--to welcome ppl and to allow the worker to grab a little sunshine at the front windows. Typically, boutique style places in Westlake have a reputation for being picky about who they welcome into the store. They aren't like that at all here. Kudos for recycling in Westlake, for dropping pretense and for operating a well run business that doesn't pander to just an inner circle of clients. read more

You can bet to find cool stuff here! I should of bought that ship porthole the fist time I saw it!!! read more

Furniture Brokers - Furniture Stores Near Me - Austin, Texas

Tl;Dr: nice selection but needs work on the customer service. The store had a good selection of furniture at reasonable prices, unfortunately for us the lady walking around the store in front of us was buying almost everything she touched, including anything and everything we were interested in. That's fine, it's the nature of these types of stores. My problem was the bird-like sales clerk perched behind the counter, ready to come swooping in anytime one of us breathed to closely to a piece of furniture that had just been claimed. I thought her icy stare when I sat down on a couch could be credited to the fact that I'm an alternative looking woman with blue hair, but then she all but chased my 64 year old mother away from the same couch because "it just sold" and hovered close by until we left. It was uncomfortable to say the least. All-in-all, I don't think being treated like that is worth the furniture you may potentially find here. read more

This store was really interesting, with a good array of furniture. The prices seemed fair for the items. I have a feeling it's a hit or miss spot just because they are consignment. I will definitely be returning to see what they get in! read more

The owner of this consignment furniture space definitely has a good eye for classic, quality furniture and decor. And the prices are quite reasonable. I was visiting from out of state, looking for furniture with my daughter and lamented that I couldn't visit this store every week to see what new old treasures were available! read more

This review is primarily based on selling although we have purchased items as well. First the customer service is seriously lacking. We have purchased many items from Home Consignment in Bee Cave and the service (especially when you're picking up an item) is DRAMATICALLY better. The other issue is that when you sell Furniture Brokers literally sits on your money for as long as possible. If you're unfortunate enough to sell a piece on the first of a month you won't see your money for at least 45 days (plus mail time). To add insult to injury they charge some kind of "check fee" to mail you a check. These issues won't effect you if you're buying but be prepared to bring extra help with you when you pick up your item. read more

Dishonest. Wow, this is like a con all around. Once we drop off our pieces, we have no control. They say that we do, but they make their own deals. They are more into making money for themselves, I get it, but at the expense of honesty and appropriate business agreements. I am very upset that I took anything into these people. I wish SO badly that I had just sold this collectors item on CRAIGSTLIST! I have never once felt totally jipped from Craigslist... I took in an item that they said was at least a $2,200 because of the quality and . I ended up getting a check for less than 10% of this... No control. I really felt like this was dishonest and sneaky. There is no way that the item sold for this little. Meanwhile, it took multiple calls and 3 months to even receive the check. Never again. I wish I had researched these people more before I took anything into them. Big financial loss to me, for sure. read more

The quality of the items I saw in both stores was just mediocre for a higher end consignment shop. The salespeople did not pay me any mind.

I have sold numerous things through both the Westlake and Lakeway locations. Each time I had a positive experience. They are experts at pricing the items and there are a lot of people who browse their store regularly so things actually sell! Much, much better than doing it through Ebay or Craig's List. A very well run business. I highly recommend them. read more

We love furniture Brokers of lakeway. We make sure to get there weekly to check for new treasures. We have purchased a gorgeous lamp and table that we love. Staff is helpful and interests in helping customers. I've also picked up smaller accent pieces. As must while were in Lakeway. read more

I stopped in by accident to this little gem. I was able to furnish my new home with high end furniture at an affordable price.

I was browsing and discovered a gem for used furniture. Eclectic selection of home decor and furnishings. I found two lamps for my guest bedroom nightstands, I actually wanted them about 10 years ago, went back to the shop and they were gone. I found them yesterday, could not find a scratch for $250.00. I would have originally paid over $800.00! I will continue to shop here and I have a few pieces I am bringing in next week to put on consignment. I learned recently WHY PAY FULL $price$ read more
