Great selection of furniture and extremely helpful without the high pressure sales pitch. Very enjoyable experience.

Five Elements is above and beyond all furniture stores. Everyone I've worked with there has been delightful and committed to making me happy. I don't know if I'll ever shop elsewhere. Good people, good quality furniture. I bought the Ava couch and the Bliss bar stools and I'll probably get the swivel coffee table made by Trica because these guys know what I like and remember me. Quality people, quality furniture. read more

Good selection, great customer service and outstanding delivery. Definitely recommend.

I've never been here before but I saw on Twitter that you guys gave a man recently diagnosed with cancer some furniture for free after he had to cancel his order and thought that was incredible. I live in Austin and if I ever need some furniture this is where I'm spending my money. read more

Had a great experience here. The selection of furniture is modern and the highest quality. The sales people are very helpful. Jonathan was particularly great as he helped me find a sofa for a small awkward space. It was one I never would have thought of yet it is so much better than what I had been thinking of for the space. And he also is great with colors. Buying furniture can be daunting but it was a pleasure shopping at Five Elements. Great boutique furniture store read more

Love this place ! Family owned and super friendly and helpful. They gave me a loaner couch when I was waiting for my couch to be made. I have been to other furniture places and learned that the cheaper quality couches are made with chemicals. This place is very reasonably priced and I'm very happy with the quality. read more

This is remarkable, from Twitter user @ATXGlamGirl: "My son just called me in tears. They recently bought a house & put a deposit on some furniture, but he was just dx'd with cancer & had to cancel the order. This a.m. the store delivered it anyway, invoice marked "paid in full." God bless these lovely people. I can't stop crying." read more

Modern aesthetic, functional, reasonably priced...? I live in a tiny place right now. Small spaces need smart solutions. I am always in search of handsome, miniature furniture that operates like one of those kid's Transformer toys. I need cars that can take the shape of warriors with just the bend of a couple fenders and the push of a secret button. When I find a handsome, modern couch that can - voila! - magically open up to be a comfortable, good looking modern bed for 2, I jump on it. Jonathan is a really picky buyer and has a good eye for modern furniture that he can sell at a reasonable price. I stopped in here today to buy tickets to the AIA Homes Tour and I already have my tape measurer out to see if that new Warrior-Car is a good fit. I was impressed with the following: 1. a low couch table that can magically become a kitchen table, double in size and seat six people. 2. chairs that are both sleek and comfortable. 3. a crisp, modern, faux leather, camel-colored couch that becomes a comfortable sleeper. 4. another low table for in front of a couch that opens up for storage or a full-blown magical bar. 5. a low modern queen-sized bed frame with smart storage in half of it. I will be back. I need my wall to fold out into my side yard and then I need my roof to push back to reveal a second floor with a view of downtown... Transformer style. read more

After I first visited Five Elements last week, I bought nothing but dreamed about the furniture. That's weird, right? We have yet to move into our new house, so we are taking some time to "sell off all that old trash," and shop around for each perfect piece. I think I see a future love affair between us and Five Elements. I may romance one of the groovy modern sofas to come home with me after. Maybe she'll convert into a sleeper and we can take it upstairs! Perhaps we will indulge ourselves in a killer coffee table that swings open to become a double-stacked service piece. I will definitely be giving her a few drinks before coercing her back to our new place. I may ask both pieces to move in. Jonathan seems like a great guy, knowledgeable and appropriately proud of his vision, which we may soon adopt. (Or adapt, as it were). read more

My husband and I hate furniture buying, but shopping at Five Elements is anything but trauma-inducing. Five Elements (and their sister store Solid) made it *almost* fun. They have a great selection of high-quality furniture that is well-designed and very reasonably priced. The salespeople are friendly and helpful, without being pushy. The only thing that could have been better is if they had served free wine while you're browsing...but given our history of spilling and sofas, it's probably for the best that they don't. We ended up purchasing a sleeper sofa and an armchair from them. I'll try to write an update once they're delivered. But so far our experience with Five Elements has been great! read more

I want to publicly express my appreciation for the recent service I received from Five Elements. Back story: I bought a beautiful sofa from Five Elements a few years ago. Recently (and to my utter dismay), I spilled red wine on a large portion of the chaise. After failing miserably to improve its appearance, I contacted the store in a desperate attempt to find some remedy. After leaving a message with the owner, I received a call from Ramon who provided me with a number of options to remove the stain. Most of all, he reassured me that hope was not lost and that he was confident that stain's appearance could be dramatically improved. Today: The stain has been completely removed and my pride in my great sofa restored. Thank you Jonathan and Ramon. You guys are awesome. read more

Just the best here! You can tell it's a family operation by the way that they care and accommodate just about anything. We purchased some chairs here for our office and they immediately upgraded our look without breaking our budget. Five Elements also helped me - no questions asked - in a pinch when I was on a deadline for a photo shoot. Really appreciate the level of customer service - we all know it's hard to find people who clearly love what they do these days! Thank you for such a good experience... read more

What an awesome day! I just got the best mattress on the planet - magniflex - delivered to my new apartment from the friendliest family owned furniture business in Austin. Great delivery crew, right on time with big smiles carrying the mattress up a flight of stairs like it was light as a feather. Many thank you's to everyone at Five Elements Furniture! This mattress is designed and made in Italy with the highest standards to help you heal from pain and stress with zero harmful chemicals, so no off-gassing. I'm super impressed...and happy I can have some therapeutic realignment just by lying down to rest :) read more

After visiting a few area furniture stores in search of the perfect new sofa, we found it at Five Elements. With our growing family and more spacious living room in the new house, we decided a sectional would be ideal so we can all spread out comfortably. I wasn't willing to settle for an ugly hunk of furniture either. The service was impeccable and we got exactly what we wanted. The sofa we picked was a bit too low so they worked with us to add legs, floating legs, so it wouldn't detract from the style. They were even able to find spare legs and added them at no cost. Amazing! And, when they weren't quite perfect, they came out quickly to fix it. Everyone here really knows what they're doing. It's been a wonderful 7 months with our new sectional. Still looks new and we use it daily. Plus, it's made in North Carolina, which seems to be pretty up in the furniture biz. We don't need anymore sofas but if we did, I'd definitely go back to Five Elements. read more

The true measure of a company, their owners and staff (separates the average from the best) is known when a mistake is made and how they will address it. Well this test came when a very expensive piece of furniture was delivered damaged. I noted it to the delivery team and within 5 minutes of them leaving my home Jonathan Fox (owner) called me stating that he would take care of it and that they stand behind their name and quality control. Done, John and Lucy were all over it, followed up every few weeks notifying us of the progress (ordered from Italy) and when it arrived in the US his team installed the new top and John and Lucy followed up with a call to assure our satisfaction! Be assured Five Elements is the only place we will buy our furniture from now on! Oh wait we bought another piece, sectional couch and it was delivered two days ago! read more

Ramon, Jonathan, and the delivery crew---everyone I worked with has been extremely professional, understanding, and willing to help provide the best customer service and meet my design needs. I've been to almost every store in Austin, both the big box stores and local places, but none of them compare in terms of tasteful modern design, moderate prices, and on top of that---superior customer service!Jonathan the owner came over my house, took measurements, assessed the space, and made helpful design suggestions I wouldn't have thought of myself! I appreciate the personal service, and how they weren't greasy salespeople that hound you and make you feel pressured to buy. Furniture is a big expense. If you're like me, it's the first time buying grown-up, non-IKEA furniture. It took me months to decide on my couch, and I then had second thoughts once I received it. I came back and Jonathan listened to what more I was looking for, helped me look at other options, and even offered to let me keep my couch should I wait months to exchange it for a different custom one. As Ramon sincerely expressed, "We just want to make sure you're happy with the furniture you buy." The guys here genuinely try to help you find furniture that matches your taste and makes you happy! Five Elements is exactly the kind of local furniture store you'd want to deal with, and plus--their style is very Austin! ^^ P.S. I'm curious what the 5th Element is--"Fire, air, earth, water, and...?" read more

I had been looking for sofas to fit my smaller loft for some time and could never seem to find the perfect piece. It was either the size, the style, or the price. After yet another long day of shuttling between furniture stores, I was driving past Five Elements as they were closing and decided to poke my head in. And I glad I did! Jonathon was patient and attentive, listening to what I wanted, asking me to describe my space and then going through a catalog with me to help ascertain the style I wanted. When everything was said and done, he gave me a fantastic price on one of his floor models that fit the bill exactly. He even offered to replace the legs with a different color to match my other decor. A few weeks later, the sofa looks and sits perfect and I couldn't be happier. I'm heading back soon to pick up a few more things to round out the new place! read more

Stopped in because they had a sample of an EQ3 bed I had my eye on. Walked out with an order for a new bed and a new lounge chair. They have a lot of unique pieces I was oohing and ahhing over. Too bad I don't need more furniture or I would have dropped more money here! TBH, some of the prices look steep if you're used to furniture shopping at ikea. But the pieces are comfortable and feel solidly constructed. They will last lifetimes longer than ikea furniture. read more

My fiancé and I have been looking for a new couch for a number of months and hadn't been able to decide on anything. We came into the shop on a Sunday morning looking for a new couch. Jonathan was exceptionally patient and accommodating. He took the time to explain the difference between their couches and configurations. We ended up buying a couch from them. It arrived yesterday and we couldn't be happier. Great price, quality, and customer service! We will be back for sure. read more

These guys are awesome!! Jonathon was great to work with and helped us furnish a big portion of our new home. Pros -great selection -modern -affordable -design advice -great customer service cons -nothing We even ordered a custom couch that didn't fit in our room the way we had hoped and they worked with us to get the couch we wanted. We just moved to Austin a few weeks back and needed to get practically all new furniture. We happened to walk into Five Elements as it was not too far from our new place and WOW... amazing furniture and John was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable with his products and furniture and patient with our decision making process. W ended up purchasing a beautiful sofa and two bar stools. While we waited for our sofa to be custom made, he offered us a loaner coach which was extremely helpful - never had service such as this before! In general a little pricier but you get an amazing product and I can tell will last for a long time! read more

Wow -- I love the stuff this store has. However, we walked in there this afternoon, and felt very unwelcome. There were 3 employees sitting behind the counter, just staring. We walked around for a while, looking at various items, and not one of them stood up and greeted us, or offered to help. We walked out without a goodbye. I've never been in a furniture store where I was given the cold shoulder. Disappointed. read more

HIGHLY recommend Five Elements for so many reasons! We just had our second delivery today and are waiting on our third. Everything from the amazing selection, fantastic customer service (they go above and beyond!!) to the great easy delivery. Jonathan is knowledgeable in his field and had great ideas. More than that though, this is a business that cares about their customers. Quality home furnishings with an affordable price tag. Owner Jonathan Fox has a great eye for style that doesn't cost you a fortune. If you need a well designed sofa or sharp looking dining table he has it; if you need accessories like lamps, rugs or art he has those items as well. Not finding what you're looking for on the showroom floor? Ask to browse one of his many catalogues to find it. Over the past few weeks Jonathan has helped me find the perfect sleeper sofa for our guest room/office, as well as a side table, rug, ottoman and A/V cabinet for our living room. He listened to my needs and helped me solve my furniture dilemma with patience and reserve. Men and women, alike, will feel comfortable browsing and asking for help with his easy-going style and non-pushy attitude. read more

I've been buying from this showroom for the past 3 years and majority of my home is furnished by 5E. Their materials are top notch, I have active children in an open floor plan and they are all over the furniture yet the sturdiness of the furniture holds true. Johnathan and Ramon (rah-mone) are very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. We had a couple small items that needed to be looked at after delivery, and these guys went out of the way to make it right. Scratch resistant glass tables, modern look, and most importantly comfort. I'm gonna keep trying to diversify my furniture with other furniture companies, but it's so easy to go back to 5E because their styles cover a wide spectrum of tastes. Thanks a lot guys. I have a feeling we still have a lot of business ahead of us! read more

You learn far more about a business when something goes wrong than you ever do when everything goes right. We ordered a new sofa that was due in just before we were scheduled to move across the country. We knew up front that the schedule was tight, but Jonathan offered to have it shipped directly to our new home if it wasn't going to arrive in time. The factory was slightly delayed, so we ended up taking him up on his offer. Unfortunately, when the sofa arrived, there was some damage to a leg, which was obviously frustrating. Jonathan immediately found a good local company that could take care of the repair, and he arranged for them to pick it up, install a new replacement leg from the factory, and return it the next day. It was the kind of situation that could have gone very sour because of compounding problems, but Jonathan's service after the sale earned our respect. He and the rest of the Five Elements staff really came through for us, and we appreciate it. We love the sofa, too! read more

High quality comfy furniture that's affordable---- whattttt????? We checked out a bunch of furniture stores, from the ritzy downtown stores where a small sofa "starts at only $8999" to Walmart with cheaper furniture but really bad quality, before finding this place. We were looking for a sofa, and the staff was very good at helping us choose one. They asked us all sorts of questions about how the size we wanted, size of the room, color schemes, etc. In addition to that, they were patient answering our questions, willing to work with us on different things such as putting in an order for a sofa and willing to change the color (at a certain point of course) if we wanted to. You can even check out some of the fabric to take home and make sure it fits in the color scheme. read more

If mid-century modern furniture is your thing, definitely stop by Five Elements. Great selection of couches, tables, and other accessories. Bonus point for friendly and knowledgeable staff, including the owner Jonathon - class act guy! read more

The best! Selection, service and follow through are absolutely first rate. No problem was too little for them to handle, with promptness and true concern. Five Elements is by far the best furniture store with whom we have ever dealt. Highly recommended. read more

Update 9 months into our couch: we still love it! The fabric has held up well, the cushions are still fluffy, and the cat hasn't managed to leave any indelible scratch marks (though we do have to still deal with cat fur). Our only quibble is that some of the tufting buttons have come loose. I'm pretty sure I could put them back on but haven't bothered to do so. The couch is still comfy, and still looks good enough to get compliments! read more

I went into this place with my husband last weekend. They have beautiful furniture but unfortunately, I was looking for something super specific. I was blown away by how friendly the staff was. I showed the lady a picture of what I was looking for, although she didn't have anything similar, she proceeded to recommend other stores that would be more fitting. She even pulled up directions for us. She genuinely wanted to help us, even though she knew we would not be purchasing anything from her. read more

I cannot say enough good things about my experience that I had today with Five Elements Furniture. They were extremely knowledgeable and provided very good input specific to my particular living situation. I explained to them what I needed from a couch, and they were able to provide some very good input that ultimately helped make my decision to purchase the couch today, my first time in the store. Again, incredibly friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and caring staff here. I have two close friends who have also purchased furniture from them, and their experiences were similar. Furniture shopping isn't necessarily easy and can most certainly be stressful, but the genuine folks at Five Elements Furniture make the process easy and efficient. Hats off to you all! read more

I can't recommend this place enough. The furniture is absolutely gorgeous, Jonathan has a great eye for beautiful furniture pieces. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our bedroom set, couch, lamps, end tables and the dining table we purchased there. We intend to outfit the rest of our home from here too. Not only is the furniture simply beautiful, but Jonathan represents everything that is great about local businesses. When I made completely unreasonable demands about having all my new furniture delivered in a completely unreasonable time, he made sure to make it happen. Not to mention, he promised that, if the furniture didn't arrive in time, he would loan us the pieces in his showroom for the weekend we had house guests. He's just accommodating and thoughtful. Additionally, his delivery men were so professional and impressive. They were so swift, efficient and friendly. All around, we are totally impressed with Five Elements and recommend it highly to our friends and family. Thanks guys! read more
