This is a bright, new shiny store and the parking is great and the location is great. That's where the good about this review ends.
I hate Target and have for years, but I will leave my personal feelings about their corporate office making political donations to certain candidates out of this, and make this review strictly about this location.
#1- Treat your employees better. I have been to this location 4 times, and each time I'm there, a manager just happens to berate an employee in front of me. The first time, a supervisor at the Startbucks inside chewed out the guy making my chai latte for having been late that day. Sure, discipline him, tell him he should have been on time, whatever- but don't be a complete dick about it, don't insult the poor kid, and don't do any of the above in front of customers. Second time, a call went out over their radios for help in a particular section because "so and so didn't show up again today, big surprise." Um, you guys are not using head sets, so any customer standing need an employee can hear everything you guys say over the radio. 3rd time was a few weeks ago when I was buying boxers and socks for my man for xmas (yes, I did get him something he actually wanted in addition to the undergarments). That section is right next to some dressing rooms, and the poor girl putting everything back on hangers got reprimanded for leaving a customer on hold too long- and the reprimand went ON AND ON AND ON, for at least 5 minutes, in front of me and several other customers in the section. The guy could barely contain is obvious contempt for this girl, and I felt terrible for her. I understand being upset with deadbeat employees, but if all these employees are so terrible, why not replace them? Especially in an economy like this? It makes me feel like everyone there is just miserable and want to take it out on everyone else. Depressing.
#2- Why is the men's undergarment section so very understocked all the time? I could kind of understand the week before xmas, since underwear is no doubt a popular gift, but they were out of several things I wanted, and the entire place was a mess- open packages, stuff put in the wrong place, stuff laid on top of the hanging posts instead of hung back on them. I was there around 3pm, it's not like it was 10 minutes from closing or something. Then when I went back the other day to exchange some things (I had gotten the wrong size boxers), it was 6pm, and the entire section was in even worse disarray. Then, they had absolutely NOTHING I needed to exchange in the right size. Not a single one. I was shocked. How could they yet again be out of so many things in that section? I ended up just returning them instead of exchanging them, and my man will just have to come back and buy the ones he wants in the right size himself, because I'm not going back.
#3- Basic customer service. When I walked in to exchange the boxers, the return counter is the first thing you see on the right. There was one person working there, and she was already helping someone else. She looked at me and said "it'll just be a minute" when I walked up. While I was waiting, another dude walked up and stood in front of me (I had given the lady in front of me a good 10-15ft of space). When the lady in front of me was done, I went to walk forward, and the guy who had basically cut in line walked in front of me before I could get there. And the Target employee helped him! I said, "Excuse me," but neither of them looked at me. I said, "Really?" super sarcastically, and the girl looked at me, but said nothing, and continued to help the cutter. So I said, "WOW" pretty loudly and as sarcastically as possible, still no reaction. When they were done, I just stood there waiting for the girl to invite me to the counter. She eventually said "I can help you now." So I said, "Oh, THANK you." She didn't apologize. Also, I am really, really sick of being asked if I want to sign up for a Target card. I don't need to be asked when I'm returning something. I don't need to be asked when I'm checking out, although I kind of understand it. I CERTAINLY don't need to be asked when I'm walking around the store trying to shop. JUST STOP IT ALREADY. I had a Target card, back in the day, and 19% interest is not my idea of fun. So no, thanks, I'd rather not. For the thousandth time.
-1 star for bombarding me with card offers, -1 star for having crappy employees, -1 star for berating employees in front of customers, -1 star for having a constantly disorganized men's undergarment section, and if I could give zero stars, the last one would be lost over their political donations (corporations are not voters!). read more
